Thomas entered the world of Rust through the blockchain space but has happily moved on from the finance world since then.
For the moment, he is contracted to maintain rust-libp2p.

David has been using Rust since about when version 1.0 was released and has been coming to Rust Sydney meetups since the first one in 2015.
His main Rust project outside of work is the Evcxr REPL and Jupyter kernel. The last couple of years, he's been doing some embedded firmware development using Rust.

Tom comes from a background of maths & statistics, getting his start in programming in Python and R for ML and statistics workloads.
He found Rust a few years ago whilst looking for a new language to learn and now uses it at work and for side-projects.

Rukai is a gamedev and general rust hobbyist. hobby projects tend to revolve around the Super Smash Bros games.
Professionally Rukai works with rust on a database proxy.

Ryan has worked as a software engineer for over 15 years, and although he's spent a lot of time with JavaScript and Python, he now defaults to Rust for all but the most ad-hoc of projects.
He first discovered the joys of Rust while working on cross-platform client SDKs at Mozilla, but these days he's putting the language to work on the server-side, building data process pipelines at harrison.ai.

Steve has been building side projects in rust since 2016, with a focus on computer graphics and game development.
He has entered the 7-Day Roguelike game jam with rust each year since then and he maintains a collection of crates for building traditional roguelikes.
