From YouTube: Salt Lake City Council Formal Meeting - 01/08/2019
Description
No description was provided for this meeting.
If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
A
When
welcome
all
three
of
you
out
to
our
council
meeting
tonight
and
the
millions
of
TV
viewers
at
home
on
channel
17,
thank
you
for
being
with
us
as
we
do
at
every
meeting.
We
appreciate
that
you've
taken
time
out
of
your
day
to
be
here
and
it's
your
local
government
at
work.
So
we
always
start
with
public
hearings.
We
have
not
actually
so
in
terms
of
reviewing
code
of
conduct.
I'll
wait
till
we
get
to
general
comments,
actually
we're
right.
There.
A
Meeting
please
be
respectful
during
other
people's
comments,
all
three
of
you
and
don't
cheer
or
jeer
or
boo.
When
other
people
speak,
we
want
everybody
to
feel
welcome
and
you
have
two
minutes.
If
you
have
a
sign,
a
proper
other
piece
of
equipment,
please
make
sure
it
doesn't
cause
a
disruption
or
block
other
people's
views.
Please
don't
approach
the
Dyess
during
the
meeting.
A
So,
if
you
need
anything,
have
a
question
want
to
fill
out
a
comment
card
that
you
forgot
to
do
raise
your
hand
and
staff
can
come
over
at
any
point
in
the
meeting
and
help
you
out
and
also
we
recognize
that
two
minutes
of
comment
time
might
not
be
enough
to
get
all
of
your
thoughts
out
that
you'd
like
to
and
there's
a
whole
bunch
of
other
ways
to
connect
with
us
and
those
are
listed
on
our
website.

A
A
Back
to
a
four
I
need
approval
of
a
number
of
minutes
that
someone
can
read
off.
Some
I
have
a
motion
by
councilmember
Luke
and
a
second
by
councilman
Rodgers
to
approve
the
meeting
minutes
of
November
13
November
27
December
4
December
11,
all
of
2018
in
the
formal
meeting
minutes
for
November
27,
December,
4,
December,
11th
and
December
18.
Any
discussion
to
that
motion,
all
those
in
favor
aye
any
opposed,
and
we
passed
approving
the
minutes
thanks
for
catching
that.
C
A
Okay
general
comments
to
the
City
Council
I
think
Cindy
Lou
has
some
cards
for
me.
I'll
call
you
up
by
first
person,
come
on
up
Oh
only
Bernie
I
mean
Bernie
you're
great
there's.
Three
of
you
here
come
on
talk
to
us
and
Bernie.
We've
got
your
handout
here.
If
you
would
like
to
make
comments,
we'll
get
you
a
comment
card,
you
can
come
up
after
Bernie.
You
know
the
drill,
Bernie
heart
two
minutes,
thanks
for
being
here.
D
D
What
drove
me
here
and
the
statement?
There
are
some
good
things
happening,
not
enough
good
things.
What
drove
me
here
brought
me
here
tonight
or
motivated
me
was
last
week
when
I
saw
the
six
cruisers
and
the
ten
officers
it
looked
like
operation,
Rio
Grande
that
work
again
over
by
on
library'
square
near
the
Leonardo
and
where
the
campers
and
the
people
on
the
street
were
rousted
and
moved
and
I
have
a
number
of
questions
and
I
wish.
The
council
would
start
asking
the
city
where
these
people
are
being
moved
to
what's
happening.
D
What
neighborhoods
are
going
into
because
I
think
everybody's
sitting
on
that
calm.
So
it
has
probably
heard
some
complaints
about
an
increase
in
homelessness
in
the
areas
around
your
in
your
districts
and
that's
not
an
accident.
That's
not
because
the
homeless
population
is
increased,
that's
because
it's
moved
and
it's
being
moved.
The
programs
in
place
for
dealing
with
the
homeless
problem
aren't
be,
aren't
being
effective
and
meeting
the
needs
of
the
homeless
community
or
the
needs
of
the
city,
I
kind
of
look
at
it.
D
The
speech
tonight
is
about
people
coming
over
our
borders
and
us
having
people
problems
and
problems
with
people
not
like
ourselves,
and
we
have
to
build
a
wall
or
it's
proposed
to
keep
people
out
of
our
districts
and
our
areas
and
the
anger
and
frighten
this,
and
the
fear
that
that
means.
But
what
it
means
to
me
is
we
have
yet
to
find
the
answers
to
our
people,
problems
and
helping
us
understand
other
people
and
work
with
other
people
coherently
and
effectively.
D
A
C
C
A
C
One
in
the
city
really
knows
any
of
you,
so
I
feel
like
it's
kind
of
weird
to
like
answer
people
that
you
don't
know.
So
that's
kind
of
my
only
comment.
No
one
really
knows
a
lot
of
you
like
personally,
so
it's
kind
of
weird
that
you
know
you're
living
in
my
district,
we're
neighbors
and
I.
Don't
even
recognize
most
of
your
faces,
so
that's
pretty
wild.
It's
kind
of
all.
It
is
it's
kind
of
weird
being
led
by
an
outside
group,
but
personal
thing.
C
Nonetheless,
yeah
I
kind
of
wanted
to
get
to
know
a
book
that
got
shut
down
quick
now.
Can
we
talk
to
people
I,
don't
know
it's
not
like
stranger
danger,
almost,
which
I'm
pretty
sure
why
homie
saying
that
about
his
own
community,
because
you
take
a
walk
in
the
community.
You'll
find
it's
actually
really
cool
down
to
people
who
have
been
here
for
a
long
time
and
can't
even
afford
to
live
here.
C
So
you
want
to
say
thanks
y'all
for
steering
away
and
like
letting
people
there
from
out
of
town
and
are
used
to
having
very
high
paying
jobs
and
high
pain,
ran
and
well
community
standards
and
catering
to
them,
because
they
are
fairly
welcomed.
They
are
the
ones
who
put
the
most
complaints
against
homeless
people
who
have
been
here
for
generations
or
certain
sides
of
the
cities
who
have
been
here
for
generations.
People
who
I've
been
here
for
like
five
years,
maybe
because
their
job
brought
them
out
here.
C
There's
industries
that
we're
catering
to,
and
it
feels
like
we're
really
applauding
them.
It's
kind
of
weird
and
scary,
when
you
think
about
it,
a
lot
of
trade
schools.
A
lot
of
community
programs
are
offering
main
industry
jobs
as
far
as
production,
Welding
extraction,
very,
very
low
in
the
feasible
sustainable
energy,
renewable
energy,
I
should
say
it's
a
lot
of
letting
go.
A
lot
of
people
can't
understand,
I'm,
pretty
sure
most.
You
can't,
because
we
don't
talk
about
it.
C
Much
they'd
be
cool
to
see
a
lot
more
like
actual
people
who
have
connection
with
the
community,
people
have
been
more
like.
Maybe
second
generation
business
owners
or
you
know
maybe
the
second
generation
like
college
kids
like
I,
said
nothing
personal
I,
probably
don't
almost
you
you'd
be
great
people
for
all
I
know.
But
thank
you
give
me
some
time.
Thank.
A
Okay,
we
have
one
item
of
new
business,
its
e1.
It's
a
motion
to
approve
our
nomination
of
council
chair
and
vice
chair
for
calendar
year.
2019
can
I
get
a
motion
so
moved.
Second
I
have
motion
by
councilmember
Fowler,
a
second
by
councilmember
Johnston.
Is
there
any
discussion
to
the
motion
all
those
in
favor
and
we're
done
with
that?
One?
A
Congratulations
fellas
and
thanks
for
your
willingness,
we
have
no
unfinished
business
and
when
we
get
to
the
consent
agenda
right
now,
I
just
need
to
make
sure
we
in
our
motion
remove
item
2,
which
needs
has
needed
to
be
delayed.
That's
why
we
didn't
do
the
interview
in
the
work
session
for
that
board.
Appointment
so
can
I
get
a
motion
on
the
consent.
