Description
Come and hear from some of our Istio contributors at Solo.io about their thoughts of Istio joining CNCF as an incubating project.
#istio #cncf
A
I've
been
a
part
of
the
istio
project
since,
before
it
even
had
a
name.
Most
of
my
contributions
focused
around
how
istio's
traffic
management
crds
translate
into
Envoy
configuration
it's
exciting
to
think
how
much
istio
has
grown
means
to
have
to
restart
Envoy
on
every
convict
change
before
the
XDS
apis
or
how,
when
the
control
plane
flipped
the
table
and
went
from
a
microservices
architecture
to
a
monolith,
and
now
with
the
introduction,
ambient
sidecars
may
not
even
be
a
requirement
for
running
istio
in
the
future.
A
C
Before
it
was
publicly
announced,
as
well
as
with
organizations
that
are
adopting
istio
at
a
massive
scale
and
more
recently
on
the
new
sidecarless
data
playing
for
istio
called
ambient
mesh
and
I'm
super
excited
to
see
istio
getting
into
the
cncf
and
I
think.
This
will
continue
to
grow
the
community
and
allow
for
even
more
adoption
in
than
what
we
see
right
now.
So
getting
get
involved
in
istio
and
look
forward
to
contributions.
Hi.
D
E
Ram
Venom
and
I've
been
working
on
istio
for
around
five
years
now
for
istio
I
was
a
technical
product
manager,
a
steering
committee,
member
I,
helped
write,
workshops,
run
community
events
and
now,
as
a
field
engineer,
I
help
users
adopt
istio
and
run
it
in
production
every
day.
It's
your
joining
cncf
is
amazing
for
both
the
project,
as
well
as
the
entire
Cloud
native
ecosystem
and
I'm
super
happy
to
be
a
part
of
it.
F
G
Hello,
my
name
is
Daniel
Hutton
and
I'm.
A
software
developer
here
at
solo.io
I've
been
involved
with
istia
for
about
nine
months
now.
How
recently
I
was
involved
with
the
istio
ambient
project,
with
my
focus
mainly
on
the
cni
implementation
performance,
metrics
I'm
excited
to
see
istia
join
cncf
and
I
can't
wait
to
see
what
the
future
holds.
H
I've
been
working
on
istion
related
projects
only
recently
in
the
last
couple
years,
many
of
my
contributions
have
been
on
the
ambient
mesh
side
and
testing
virtual
machine
onboarding.
It
features
in
istio,
I'm
really
excited
to
see
isto
be
part
of
the
cncf,
because
it
represents
the
maturity
in
the
project
and
also
is
great
for
advancing
the
benefits
of
service
meshes.
It's
really
exciting
and
I
can't
wait
to
see
what
the
future
holds
for
us
to.
I
Hello,
this
is
Aaron
berklin
and
I'm.
A
tech
lead
here
at
solo.
Most
recently,
I
was
involved
with
the
ambient
mesh
project.
So
with
my
colleagues
here
at
solo
and
collaborators
at
Google,
we
worked
hard
to
get
the
initial
Alpha
release
of
istio
ambient
out
the
door.
We
learned
a
lot
in
the
process
and,
as
the
community
tries
out
ambient,
we
will
learn
even
more
so
I'm,
looking
forward
to
see
how
the
project
evolves
under
the
auspices
of
the
cncf,
hello.
J
Everyone
I'm
Nate
fuddar,
head
of
engineering
at
store.io
I've,
been
a
long
time,
maintenance
leader
in
the
history
of
project
I'm,
a
former
student
Committee
Member
and
currently
on
the
istio
technical
oversight
company.
It's
been
a
pleasure
to
be
part
of
the
istio
community
and
registered
Journey
seats.
Architecture
evolve
from
combining
its
various
microservices
based
control,
plane,
parts
to
HTT,
and
now
the
Next
Generation
proxy
architecture,
which
is
ambient
mesh
with
all
the
Innovation
today,
is
a
very
exciting
day
for
us
all
in
the
community
to
see
istio
being
accepted.
J
As
the
incubation
project
within
cncf
cncf
is
the
right
house
to
host
and
keep
this
important
project
and,
most
importantly,
it
shows
again
that
istio
is
one
of
the
most
popular
and
widely
used
service
mesh
projects
out
there.
Thank
you
and
I'm
very
excited
to
see
what
the
future
holds
for
this
year.
