A
Well,
it's
wonderful
to
be
here!
Thank
you,
so
much
everybody
for
hosting
this
and
it's
great
to
meet
proven
collaborators.
Like
all
of
you,
so
on
the
barn
steps
in
this,
you
can
tell
I,
guess
I'm
the
only
girl
up
here,
so
it
was
easy
to
figure
out
the
heads
okay
at
least
there's
one
of
us
and
so
as
you've
heard
unless
to
get
vice.
President
chief
innovation
officer,
internet2
I've
had
this
role
about
two
and
a
half
years.
A
I
graduated
with
my
VM
and
for
33
years
about
two
and
a
half
years
ago,
and
so
I
have
a
lot
of
background,
big
data
and
complement
computing
and
any
other
things
and
created
enough
for
these
strategies.
That
I
am
so
it's
really
a
lot
of
fun
to
be
working
with
the
research
education
community.
Now
so,
as
the
chief
innovation
officer,
when
I
first
joined
to
a
half
years
ago,
I
said
you
know
what
I'm
going
to
chief
innovation
officer
if
it
doesn't
really
matter
what
they
think
it
matters.
A
What
you
think
you
know
the
members
of
internet2.
We
have
500
members
of
Internet
to
organizations
320
universities,
but
80
industry
members
that
Microsoft
I
am
amazone
Cisco
and
a
number
of
others
as
well
as
affiliates
like
NSF
and
NIH,
and
things
like
that,
and
so
we
have
spent
one
of
the
top
areas
will
be
collaborative
innovation,
one
oregon
member
survey,
8800
humans.
The
top
answer
came
back
into
interesting
security.
The
next
one
was
distributed,
big
data
and
analytics
and
that's
very
important.
A
We
look
at
the
networking
that
we
provide
for
the
research
and
education
community,
because
a
lot
of
the
traditional
workloads
are
kind
of
big
elephant
flows.
They
dataflow
is
like
an
absurd
for
the
Large
Hadron
Collider
they've
baited
up
then
a
Tier
one
group
of
organizations
get
set.
Crunch-Crunch-Crunch
assigns
it
to
tier
two
crunch,
nitric
oxide.
But
now,
as
you
look
at
precision
medicine,
smart
cities,
its
distributed,
big
data
and
analytics
the
data
is
coming
from
all
over
the
place.
A
You
have
an
image
data,
effective
data,
clinical
research
data,
multiple
languages,
and
you
put
all
this
stuff
together
and
do
we
need
to
think
about
the
network
differently,
because
Internet
2
is
in
the
category
called
Enron's
national
research
and
education
networks
and
if
you
look
it
up
in
Wikipedia,
you'll
find
over
a
hundred
of
them
listed
around
the
planet,
and
so
we
have
a
hundred
gigabit
network
that
works
around
the
US,
and
then
we
connect
and
hold
hands
around
the
planet.
We
also
provide
trust,
my
dentist
off
course,
so
you
can
securely
share
the
data.
A
So
as
we
look
at
these
areas
of
antenna,
security,
distributive,
big
data
analytics
and
then
the
third
area
that
came
back
on
the
survey
was
the
Internet
of
Things.
We
looked
at
what
are
these
cases
you
want?
We
put
three
leaders
in
trying
to
each
of
these
working
groups
and
then
had
use
cases
come
in,
and
this
evolved
to
a
real
public-private
partnership
opportunity
because
it
elicited
think
again
the
Internet
as
both
fiber
and
institutional
members.
We
can
enjoy
your
academia
80
year,
industry
government
as
well.
A
It's
perfect
for
the
private
partnership,
testily
right,
and
so
what
we
did
is
we
as
we
started
looking
at
these
is
created
public/private
partnerships,
we're
calling
them
because
it
sounds
like
you're
expecting
something
different,
but
just
let's
collaborate
together.
So,
as
you
can
see
under
antitrust
and
security
at
the
top,
we
have
tips
for
IOT
and
that's
actually
an
idea
that
came
out
of
a
workshop.
A
Let's
have
open
architecture
that
can
support
that
and
they
came
out
with
this
tips,
idea,
trust,
identity,
privacy
protection
seekers
and
now
we're
we're
a
little
with
industry
and
academia
and
publishing
chapters
and
books,
and
things
like
that
I'm
how
to
really
focus
on
this,
because
we
all
need
to
worry
about
this.
People
who
are
using
devices
in
IOT
people
are
creating
devices
that
are
IOT
and
we're
all
working
it
together.
A
We
also
have
an
anger,
which
is
an
early
class
of
grant
for
exploratory
research
for
those
who
aren't
in
the
u.s.
that
I,
don't
you
have
that
term
lab,
but
it's
kind
of
cool
was
you're
eager
to
do
new
stuff
right,
and
so
it's
on
accelerating
cybersecurity
research
into
practice.
So
what
we
do
is
matchmaking
between
cyber
security,
researchers
and
practitioners.
It
includes
industry
people.
We
had
a
couple
of
seminars
in
October
for
cybersecurity
awareness.
A
We
had
a
Cisco
on
one
of
the
panels.
We
had
a
start
of
elaborate
things
on
another
panel
and
so
we're
constantly
bringing
people
together
to
help
them
move
things
along
and
the
distributed
became
analytic
space
I'm
very
fortunate
to
also
be
on
the
North
East
hub
steering
committee
and
some
involve
the
data
sharing
effort
that
been
talked
about,
and
we
have
ever
been
involved
in
specific
use
cases.
So
we
really
understand
what
are
the
future
needs
of
the
internet?
How
do
we
do
you
and
cold
internet?
A
You
know
like
what's
the
next
thing
after
worried
about,
and
so
those
are
some
of
the
things
that
we
do.
Healthcare
and
life
sciences
is
a
big
area
there,
and
then
we
also
work
on
a
smart
campus
in
cities.
They
were
all
smart
campus
co,
an
advisory
council,
so
these
are
areas
where
we
actually
do
pull
together
from
all
the
different
communities.
A
So
what
we
did
is,
as
these
ideas
came
up,
we
said:
well,
let's
create
these
working
groups
that
makes
them,
as
you
can
see
in
the
previous
tremors,
like.
Oh,
my
gosh,
all
that
stuff
overlaps.
The
IOT
makes
a
lot
of
data
and
we
needed
to
adjust
and
security
at
that,
and
so
what
we
did
is
create
this
collaborative
innovation
community
and
now
it
has
a
report
of
people
actually
from
around
the
planet.
A
So
the
way
we
roll
is
that,
if
you
are
in
or
a
partner
of
Internet,
which
includes
the
national
research
education
networks
around
the
country
around
the
world,
you
can
participate
and
either
like
HEA.
That
would
be
the
end
or
an
environment
they
asked
us.
Can
you
include
Trinity
College
in
Dublin
like,
but
it's
your
family
issue
up
in
the
narthex
going
yeah
cos.
A
Their
members
or
partners
present
different
areas
around
networking
and
IOT
and
to
interests
and
security,
and
so
this
way
we're
bringing
the
new
innovation
ideas
out
to
the
membership
that
then
sometimes
they
get
together
around
either
they
learn
about
each
other.
And
then
these
are
some
specific
areas
of
what
we're
doing
the
public-private
partnerships.
So
in
the
networking,
spy
were
actually
working
with
Cisco.
Who
has
this
information?
A
Centric
networking
test
fit
and,
and
then
ndn
is
another
testbed,
that's
being
able
led
by
academia,
that's
funded
by
NSF,
which
is
named
data
networking,
and
these
are
new
meaning
paradigms
for
networking
where
you
put
the
information
right
out
in
front
of
the
data
packet.
So
it
connects
to
Big
Data,
because
it's
about
the
data
and
the
question
is:
can
you
enhance
security,
improve
performance
and
service
II?
A
So
we
can
all
work
together
in
these
different
areas
and,
as
an
example
of
you
know,
public-private
partnerships
in
IOT
when
we
started
the
IOT,
really
creative
sandbox
with
them,
and
so
they
provide
at
the
time
it
was
there,
their
bluemix
devops
environment
for
teaching
the
university
is
for
free
for
a
while
their
pedagogy.
We
recently
helped
Princeton
University,
hosted
an
IOT
ethics
summit
and
we
had
46
people
there.
We
and
Verizon
and
Microsoft.
A
Now
the
about
20
universities
in
about
five
CIOs
that
came
out
and
I
have
to
really
want
them
to
do
this
really
quick
time
for
New
York.
So
I
can
talk.
Yes,
I
talked
about
the
antitrust
and
security
for
IOT
effort
and
we
have
a
report
we
can
connect
it
to,
and
then
we
work
with
Microsoft
to
convene
a
a
smart
campus
on
campus
connection
summit.
