The
purpose
of
the
st.
Charles
County
Road
board
is
to
evaluate
and
recommend
different
Road
projects
using
the
county's
half
cent
sales
tax,
and
we
work
with
the
municipalities
and
the
st.
Charles
County
Highway
Department,
primarily
the
County
Road
board
is
funded
by
a
half
cent
sales
tax
collected
by
the
county,
and
it
goes
to
arterial
roads,
economic
development
projects
and
congestion
projects.
Well,
if
the
road
board
funds
were
always
leveraging
our
dollars
with
you
municipalities,
so
we
either
have
an
80/20
match
or
sometime
there's
federal
dollars,
and
we
basically
would
leverage
off
those
dollars.

Also,
a
really
good
example
would
be
phase
three
of
page
Avenue,
which
was
a
hundred
million
dollar
design-build
project,
where
the
county
put
in
twenty
five
million,
the
state
put
in
50
million
and
the
federal
money
was
twenty
five
million
to
get
that
hundred
million
dollar
project
done
on
an
annual
basis.
We
go
through
and
get
updates
on
all
the
projects
we
have
going
on
the
three-year
tip
the
bulk
of
the
year.
We
actually
are
looking
at
new
applications
to
again
kind
of
vet,
those
out
approve
them
and
then
recommend
those
to
the
County
Council.

There's
a
lot
of
construction
going
on.
We've
got
a
new
overpass
out
once
fill
that
will
come
online
in
the
next
couple
years,
called
Dave
local,
Parkway,
very
exciting
in
the
west
end
of
the
county.
We
just
completed
5th
Street,
all
the
arterial
roads,
and
we
worked
on
a
small
project
out
in
Saint
Peter's
with
BJC
hospital.

That
was
very
good
and
we
also
did
some
economic
development
work
in
conjunction
with
the
GM
plant
improvements
with
the
traffic
lights
and
highway
a
we
also
funded
the
improvements
for
the
Amazon
Fulfillment
Center,
and
we
were
able
to
do
that
very
quickly
with
the
help
of
the
city
of
st.
Peters,
our
County
staff,
to
get
that
approved
and
recommended
to
the
County
Council.
