Includes charlotte hall, 7th district golden beach and mechanics film, mr john o'connor good morning.

Represented 4th commissioner district, which includes elections and parks, some of california.

Great mills and some of hollywood- mr todd, morgan, david weiskopf, our acting county administrator.

Professor ann stein, college of southern maryland and professor brian warneke college of southern.

Maryland, I'm assuming you both have yours right, whereas engineers use their scientific skills.

And specialized knowledge and creative and innovative ways to fulfill society's.

Needs and whereas engineers help major help solve major technological challenges of our.

Time from designing efficient building systems to rebuilding towns devastated by national disasters.

And whereas engineering has been called the invisible or stealth profession, because everything.

Around us and things we use every day have been engineered in some way, yet we may not see.

The engineers behind the scenes or know how much about that engineering and whereas founded in 1951.

National engineers week e-week is dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated.

Future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of an interest in engineering and.

Technological services and careers, whereas e-week, is a formal coalition of more than 70 engineering.

Education and cultural societies, with more than 50 corporations and government agencies.

E

Dedicated to raising public awareness of engineers, positive contributions to quality of life,.

And whereas e-week promotes recognition among parents, teachers and students of the importance.

Of a technical, technical education in a high level of math science and technological literacy.

It motivates youth to pursue pursue engineering careers in order to provide a diverse and.

Vigorous engineering workforce now, therefore, we, the commissioners of saint mary's county.

Do hereby recognize the week of february 20-26 as national engineers week in st mary's county.

I hand this to you to say a few words.

So we represent the college of southern maryland and the engineering department.

And we would like to thank the st mary's county commissioners for being our partners getting an.

Engineering workforce together, I'd like to remind everyone that there is a virtual.

Night of engineering being held tomorrow night at 7 pm, it is going to highlight the.

The patuxent partnership, whereas students can go to csm for their first two years,.

F

And then transfer to the university of maryland satellite center there in california.

F

And they can get their degree in electrical or mechanical engineering here in saint mary's county.

We also wanted to remind everyone that the scholarship finder is opening up and.

F

We do have scholarships available for those who are interested in stem fields.

F

And that includes engineering. We have a the stem scholars. Scholarship is funded by the national.

F

Science foundation and can provide up to six thousand dollars a year for a student, great.

Next, we have the national developmental disabilities awareness month.

Morning, commissioners, good morning.

Thank you all for being here, so this proclamation reads: whereas in 1987 president ronald reagan.

Made a public proclamation that the month of march should be recognized as developmental.

H

Disabilities awareness month to increase public awareness of the needs and potential.

H

Of americans with developmental disabilities and whereas people with a developmental disability.

H

Are of all racial, ethnic, educational, social and economic backgrounds and all are valued members of.

H

Society who find fulfillment living everyday lives and whereas we value what is important to people.

H

With developmental disabilities and their families, who are striving for everyday lives, no different.

H

Than that of all other citizens and highlight the importance of inclusion and living.

H

Life side by side and whereas all individuals should be given the opportunity to participate.

H

Entirely and equally in the social and economic life in saint mary's, county.

H

Now, therefore, we, the commissioners of saint mary's county, do hereby proclaim.

March 2022 as national developmental disability awareness month and urge the citizens of saint.

Mary's county to observe this month and appropriate programs and activities that.

Reaffirm our dedication to create opportunities and accessibility for people with disabilities.
