Lord knows been getting a lot of uh emails and calls about the coved.

A

Vaccine covid19 vaccine distribution, I have to say I'm not of the 75 and older. I wasn't involved.

A

In the 1a or the 1b, but I am involved in the 1c, which is 65 and older, and hopefully my wife and.

A

I will get our vaccines next week, but the key is here is that the demand for these vaccines.

A

Has well exceeded, I think what we thought we would see. We did hear early on that they wanted people.

A

To take them to encourage other people to to do elected officials to get them, and I'm not saying.

A

That's a bad thing, it's a good thing, but the key gets to be is we're hearing a lot from people who.

A

Are saying, look the website? I I get on at four a.m. In the morning trying to get my mom on there. I'm.

A

Trying to do these things and I can't get through and and lord knows, we're hearing you we're hearing.

A

You we're hopefully today that the governor will come out and talk more about the vaccine. Roll out.

A

We've heard that you know federally, it's it's been slow, coming from the federals down to the state.

A

And knows, there's only so much vaccine that can be produced and people want it. But but please call.

A

We're going to try and hook you up with the right people that can hopefully identify your your issue.

A

And give you put you on the list and get your appointments made. I think the health department's.

A

Doing a remarkable job in the distribution that they're doing we're hearing that we're probably.

A

Number one in the state, as far as being able to to distribute the number of vaccines we get.

A

That's a great thing, but lord knows this vaccine. This pandemic is not going to go away soon. We're.

A

Hearing that you know it could be summer before everybody has a chance to get a vaccine. Please.

A

Stay in touch with the saint mary's county health department website and if you have continuing.

A

Issues with trying to get an appointment for yourself or a loved one or someone who qualifies.

A

Look we're going to try and help you and hopefully we'll get to.

A

Phase c or three or whatever phase it may be, that allows us to eventually get back to normal.

Today, we're going to pick representatives to a redistricting committee.

A

We all know that the census is coming out and hopefully we'll have those results.

A

Back by summer, sometime lord knows we're hearing could be early fall.

A

This group will have a, I think, a lot of work to do in a short period of time.

A

But we've been hearing a lot from people about what they think the makeup of the group should be.

A

And I have to say as one commissioner, I think you have a point, our makeup of our committees across.

A

The board these people we recognize today should be consistent with the makeup of our community.

A

And let's, let's hope we can find the right people who have the the time and the energy and expertise.

To get involved, lastly, I spoke before about your estat, your assessments or.

A

Whether it be on your homes or commercial districts for the middle part of the county,.

A

uh I've heard from people that these assessments have been very high in many cases and I do take.

A

Pride that the fact that this board early on, I think last year or year before we implemented a.

A

Three percent homestead tax. So if you're in your primary residence, your uh s that your property.

A

Taxes can only go up three percent, but for people who have uh investment, properties or or commercial.

A

Properties, those will pay the full amount. So again, if you think your assessment's too high.

A

You have to february 12 to appeal it and please appeal if you think it's out of line. Thank you.
