Commissioners have referenced, there's a lot going on this week. I'm not gonna rehash. What's already.

Been said, but I fully agree with commissioner morgan, commissioner o'connor's comments already.

um Just on the redistricting commission, our local redistricting commission they meet for potentially.

Their last meeting tonight- and I just hope that it's not a train wreck like last week, was.

But commissioner morgan also talked about the special session. That's going on in annapolis,.

And I hope you're paying attention to it, because the princeton princeton has a non-partisan body.

That reviews these maps and they said that the maryland maps that are drawn.

By our legislature are the most gerrymandered and give it a failing grade and there's been a lot of.

A

Local passion against gerrymandering and voter suppression and I hope to see that same passion.

Directed at our state representatives, because what the people in annapolis are doing just isn't right.

But also what they're doing during this special session is they're, taking time to override a lot.

Of our governor's vetoes- and I want to point out one particular one that was voted on yesterday.

Senate bill 133 and the name of this bill is local tax relief for working families, act of 2021.

A

What a great name, local tax relief for working families act nobody's opposed to that. But what.

A

Does this build do this bill is another example of annapolis overreach into local affairs, and it.

A

Increases the minimum that a county government can tax for income tax, so it used to be one percent.

A

It raises up to 2.25 percent. Now our income tax rate locally is higher than that right now, but if.

A

We wanted to lower it below that we would not be allowed to, because annapolis says we can't lower.

A

Our income tax below that. Why that's ridiculous? That is incredibly overreach on the part of.

A

Annapolis, thankfully senator bailey voted against overriding the governor's veto, but.

A

He's not enough and keep doing what you're doing senator bailey.

A

And hopefully, annapolis will start listening to us at some point. Thank you.
