uh I'd like to echo some about what uh commissioner connor said about afghanistan.

One thing we did accomplish, even though after 20 years we are leaving there now.

There's been no terrorist attack on saint mary's county state of maryland or the.

Country in 20 years, I've said had a lot to say that this may have helped to prevent that.

A

Let's hope we continue to prevent it, but for those who served in afghanistan, that's what you did.

You protected our country for over 20 years plus and we'll continue to protect it. It's unfortunate.

I served in vietnam in 67-68. I wonder if that happened, what did we do and it's I know it's.

Halfway across the world in a place that I've never been there before until I got there and.

It was a strange country to me, but I said: okay, we're fighting to fight communism, stop the spread.

Of whatever terrorism whatever, and hopefully it worked, I I was disappointed when we left vietnam.

And it seemed to be turned over to the north vietnamese anyway, afghanistan seems to be taken.

Over again by the taliban, I don't know what the final outcome is going to be, but I will applaud.

Our governor for saying that he was willing to take more afghanistan into our state, because.

There's a lot of people that helped us over there in 20 years that are probably going to be punished.

By that take over the taliban, if we don't do something to help them out, so I applaud him for.

Opening up maryland's borders to take a few in, and I hope that we take the ones out that might be.

Harmed the most because they provided services to our country and to our people over there.

So, let's hope that uh it was it's very quick actually happened. I know vietnam, we left. There was.
