County fair, I want to say it was a great time very well attended enjoyed it very.

Carnival a week earlier, uh my grandchildren took them down there and uh they were able to get on a.

Ride about every two to three minutes took them to the county, fair. They waited in line for an hour. I.

Mean it's it's great to have that wristband, but it's uh kind of a disservice for people.

Waiting in the sun and thank god it wasn't hot, it was cooler and a little breezy, but an hour to.

Get on a line when you're standing in line with a four-year-old or a couple of four-year-olds and a.

Nine-Year-Old is a long time, so maybe we can help out with that, but john richards, you did a great.

Job you and your 17 directors, I love seeing them all in their light, blue shirts, easy to find them.

Great people, great thing, thank god, saint mary's county, is back with their county, fair chamber.

State of the county last week what we went to after our meeting that was another great event.

Well, attended on a dour note, though, the the county lost three people this past week.

A

That I need to recognize or mention. First one was a woman named patty runco.

A

uh Her husband, ray runco and her they were people came here with the military. They came here.

A

With the navy same time as my dad did early 60s and I always remember ray when he wanted to get.

A

Into real estate and uh patty was a entrepreneur. She had this. uh This business called famous french.

A

Galleries, it was down there next to the plaza theater in lexington park, we're currently the.

A

uh Lexington park post office: that's that's prior to a lot of people's time.

A

uh Probably a couple people on this board for sure, but the point was is that she was an entrepreneur.

A

uh She bought an ad for me for the great mills high school class in 1971 yearbook and boy. She was.

A

A tough sell, but I got my 15 bucks and she got her quarter page and I always respected her as a sound.

A

Business person, but what she really had a talent for was art and she was an accomplished artist.

A

And attending her services the other day was it was very heartwarming. All the people were.

A

There and people had said nice things about her. Secondly, I'm a member, fraternal organizations and.

A

Fraternal order of the elks who have been in the county since 1958 a little over 63 years.

A

Their last charter member howard britton lived in valley right down there next to tall timbers.

A

He passed away at the age of 91 this past week, great guy attended his funeral and whatnot last.

A

Night, the viewing today is the wake howard rest in peace, great guy and lastly, on a very tragic note.

A

A friend and neighbor of of mine and a member of the moose lodge lost their three-year-old daughter.

A

This week to a drowning accident, terrible terrible event, the moose patuxent moose lodge in hollywood.

A

Is holding a benefit, spaghetti dinner for them today, a hundred percent of the proceeds will go to.

A

Defray the cost of the the burial and just other tragic costs that are involved in a funeral.

A

And uh that's from four to eight pm and if you have the time or you just want to drop by they'll.
