I’M kirsty scott, and this is news from stirling council.- the provosts’s charity of the year, sirling young carers,, held its first ever young carers.

A

Conference this month. the event was organised in partnership with stirling council and was.

A

Held in the council chambers., we spoke to some young carers to find out more about the.

A

Service and how it has helped them., we all attend young carer groups, so we get support.

B

Through that, meeting people who are going through the same difficulties as us., we also.

B

Attend days out, like the cinema or residential, and most of us are going to london in a couple.

B

Of weeks as one of our residential. they've basically gave us support like if we have.

C

Something we can't do,. So basically I never had my first aid,. I never knew nothing about.

C

It at all,, and they got somebody in from the british red cross army to pass our first aid.

C

Certificates and train us on what to do in an emergency situation.. They also teach us.

B

Life skills, like cpr and stuff, but then they also, we got given random ingredients and.

B

Got told make food out of that, go., so you do learn life skills like cooking and stuff.

B

As well, which is really good., don't be scared to ask cos. I know a lot of people, don't think.

They are young carers, even when they are, and if there's anything even slightly, you just.

D

Need to ask because it could be you're doing a huge job, but to you it doesn't seem like.

Anything, so just go for it.. I think I would just say,, don't knock it till you try it,.

I think a lot of people are skeptical about it,. Like am I a young carer, and will this.

E

Really help me,. I know I was like that cos. My mum's had ms longer than she's had me so.

E

Being a young carer was,, it was just kind of what I did.. I have met some really amazing.

E

People and it's just nice to know you've got a kind of support group.- it might be for you,.

But it might not. if you think, you're a young carer or if you know someone, then you should.

F

Definitely go to young carers cos. They do offer a lot of support, especially if you struggle.

Emotionally with your caring role, because they do offer really good support, and especially.

F

One to one support as well as groups.. The people who work at young carers are genuinely.

Really nice people,, like they're patient with you and care for you, and just really nice.

If you think that anybody could be a young carer or have got any signs of it, do get.

B

Them help because it's a battle that they shouldn't be fighting alone. the autism strategy.

Team in stirling and clackmannanshire are asking members of the public to help name.

A

A new android app designed to help people with autism. the app has been created in partnership.

A

With stirling university computing club and allows people with autism to input key information.

A

About their likes and dislikes and preferred means of communication., the team are looking.

A

For a name for the app that is unique,, fun and memorable., the winner will receive a prize.

A

And official recognition at the launch of the app which will take place at raploch campus.

A

And finally, borestone primary has had a special visit from the voice. Uk contestant, laura begley.

The twenty-three year old,, who comes from st ninians,, is a former pupil of the primary.

School and she performed some of her favourite tracks and answered questions at a special.

Assembly. laura made it to the knock out stages of the talent show and is now focusing on.
