Description
Regular Session
A
C
C
D
The
Lord
be
with
you:
gracious
Heavenly
Father.
We
thank
you
for
this
day.
For
this
night,
we
ask
that
you
bless
our
mayor
and
our
commissioners
give
them
your
wisdom
that
they
might
guide
us
in
the
way
that
we
should
go.
We
thank
you
for
the
beauty
all
around
us
here
at
Tarpon
Springs.
We
pray
that
you
would
help
us
to
be
good
stewards
of
all
that
you've
entrusted
to
us.
We
pray
your
blessing
tonight
in
the
name
of
the
Father
and
of
the
Son
and
of
the
Holy
Spirit
amen.
C
Good,
any
of
everyone
welcome
to
our
Commission
meeting
and
we
are
starting
our
meeting
tonight
with
public
comments
of
the
items
that
will
not
be
discussed
tonight.
If
anyone
has
any
comments,
please
come
forward
to
the
podium
and
you'll
be
given
four
minutes.
Please
state
your
name
and
address
for
the
record.
E
Homeowners
associations
as
well,
and
the
reason
I
come
to
you
tonight,
is
to
bring
to
your
attention
the
intersection
which
chief
mayor's
may
well
know
of
eat
the
light
on
East
tarpon
Avenue,
that
muscle
word,
intersects,
the
Walmart
shopping
plaza
and
the
public
shopping
plaza.
That's
a
dangerous
intersection.
E
I
have
the
Tarpon
Springs
Police
Department
was
kind
enough
to
provide
me
some
data
that,
during
the
last
two
years
there
have
been
17
accidents
at
that
intersection
not
including
near
misses
and
a
common
cause,
at
least
that
I've
experienced
in
that
shopping,
plaza
pretty
much
three
or
four
times
a
week
is
honestly
you
I
found.
We
can
never
figure
out
what
we
want
to
have
for
dinner.
Far
enough,
it
advanced
to
be
either
less
times
per
week.
Is
people
turn
left
out
of
the
Walmart
shopping?
E
Plaza
think
they
can
go
first
and
make
illegal
left-hand
turns
against
oncoming
traffic,
pulling
out
of
the
public
shopping.
Plaza
myself
personally
experienced
two
near
misses
per
week,
whether
I'm
one
straight
or
turning
right
out
of
that
Plaza
onto
Tarpon
Avenue,
to
get
to
19
and
I'm
coming
to
eat
again
tonight
to
see
what
can
be
done
to
bring
that
either
to
a
enforcement
action
or
work
with
I.
Believe
it's
the
state
that
regulates
traffic
control
devices
to
see
if
I
needed,
maybe
getting
an
arrow
I
left
her
arrow
out
of
that
intersection.
A
E
E
C
C
F
C
A
Now,
therefore,
I
Commissioner,
Reyes
II,
were
by
virtue
of
the
authority
vested
in
the
mayor
of
the
city
of
Tarpon.
Springs
Florida.
Do
hereby
proclaim
the
March
of
March
2018
as
procurement
services
month
in
the
city
of
Tarpon
Springs,
and
urged
all
citizens
to
join
the
City
Commission
in
recognizing
the
role
of
procurement
and
materials
management
profession
with
the
business
industry
and
government.
And
this
will
be
received
by
day.
G
C
H
And
whereas
a
surveying
and
mapping
profession
requires
special
education,
training,
the
knowledge
of
mathematics,
the
related
physical
and
Applied
Sciences
and
requirements
of
law
for
evidence,
and
whereas
the
surveyors
mappers
are
uniquely
qualified
and
licensed
to
determine
and
describe
land
and
water
boundaries
for
the
management
of
Natural,
Resources
and
protection
of
private
and
public
property
rights.
And
whereas
the
continued
advancements
in
instrumentation
have
required.
H
The
surveyor
and
mapper
not
only
to
be
able
to
understand
and
implement
the
methods
of
the
past,
but
also
to
learn
and
employ
modern
technology
and
finding
solutions
to
meet
the
challenges
of
the
future.
Now,
therefore,
I
Commissioner
Jacob
car
by
the
virtue
of
the
authority
vested
in
the
mayor
of
Tarpon
Springs
Florida,
do
hype.
Do
hereby
proclaim
the
week
of
March
18
through
24
2018
as
Florida
surveyors
and
map,
and
this
is
going
to
be
received
by
nick

surveyor
of
record
George
F

I
Good
evening,
I'd
like
to
thank
the
city,
tarpon
springs
the
Board
of
Commissioners
of
the
mayor
for
again
recognizing
national
surveyors
week
this
year,
I'm
going
today
with
a
couple
of
my
peers
and
colleagues
Kathy
Bosco,
who
I
worked
closely
with
and
Chris
McLaughlin,
who
is
a
chair
committee
of
the
National
surveyors
week
and
again
we
really
appreciate
your
time
and
effort
and
before
to
do
it
again
next
year.
Thank
you
so
much
thank.

any
items
that
you
like
to
pull
in.
H
I
just
have
a
comment
afterwards.
I
just
wanted
to
bring
up
a
couple
of
things
here.
The
Easter,
Egg
kind,
I,
think,
is
a
great
event
for
the
local
families
of
Tarpon
Springs
to
participate
in
it's
great
to
see
that
the
Recreation
Department
is
doing
this
this
year
and
also
I
have
a
lot
of
pride
in
our
country
and
it's
great
to
see
that
we're
moving
forward
with
fireworks
in
the
celebration
of
our
independence
on
4th
of
July
coming
up
and
I'm
excited
to
see
that
on
the
agenda
as
well.
Well,.
C
B
K
Evening,
Bob
Robertson
director
project
administration
department
here
tonight
or
representing
this
item
for
the
purchase
of
15
mobile
trailer,
mounted
generators
to
be
used
for
emergency
services.
These
generators
are
being
purchased
by
the
water
and
sewer
funds,
recognizing
a
need
discovered.
After
an
in
the
aftermath
of
Hurricane
Burma.
H
I,
just
yeah
I've
got
a
couple
questions.
Thank
you
for
bringing
this
back
up.
I
know,
there's
one
of
the
things
that
we
talked
about
after
the
storm.
What
are
the
items
that
we
could
improve
on
and
I
know
your
your
team
and
the
rest
of
the
team
that
is
with
the
city,
really
did
talk
of
a
job
above
and
beyond
what
they
to
do
to
keep
basically
masseur
from
running
into
the
streets.
H
So
thank
you
again
for
everything
all
your
hard
work
in
that
then
bringing
us
back
up
and
being
proactive
for
our
next
potential
storm
that
fitted
the
area
as
well.
One
thing
I've
got
a
question
about
mayor
is
with
these
newer
developments
that
are
coming
in
I
know
sometimes
they're
required
to
install
sewer
lifts
right.
Are
we
looking
at
all
to
ask
them
to
provide
any
generators
at
all,
or
is
that
going
to
be
on
the
cities
or
responsibility?
At
that
point,
we.
K
H
C
C
And
now
we're
going
through
the
ordinance
and
resolutions
item
number
11,
which
is
the
ordinance
2018
deaths
of
zero
six.
This
is
the
application.
Seventeen
one
zero
nine
land
development
code
amendment
to
extend
the
moratorium
on
a
wireless
communications
facility.
This
is
a
second
reading
and
our
city
attorney
will,
with
your
dinners,
ordinance.
L
Number
20
1806
in
the
ordinance
of
the
city
of
Tarpon,
Springs
Florida,
providing
for
extension
of
an
established
temporary
moratorium
on
the
submitted
and
processing
of
any
application
and
issuance
of
any
permit
for
location
of
any
wireless
communication
facilities,
towers
or
antennas
in
the
city's
right-of-way
for
a
period
of
120
days
providing
for
conflict,
severability,
construction
and
publication
in
providing
for
an
effective
date.
Second,
reading
of
ordinance
2018
zero
six
by
title
only
was
published
in
the
Tampa
Bay
by
Title.
Only
On,
February,
16,
2018
and.
M
A
B
L
Where's
Rosen
2018
0
a
resolution.
The
city
commissioner
of
the
city
of
Tarpon,
Springs
Florida,
opposing
offshore
oil
drilling
and
exploration
in
the
Gulf
of
Mexico,
and
supporting
the
current
moratorium
on
drilling
in
the
eastern
Gulf
and
providing
effective
date
resolution
2018
zero
by
title.
Only
thank.
C
You,
as
the
star
saying,
is
I'm
introducing
this
resolution
in
order
to
oppose
the
offshore
drilling
exploration
on
the
Gulf
of
Mexico
and
I'm,
supporting
the
continuation
of
the
moratorium
that
was
established
back
in
2006,
and
they
were
expired
in
2022
unless
Congress
decides
to
eliminate
this
moratorium.
Just
recently,
the
federal
leadership
express
interest
eliminate
this
moratorium.
If
a
large
brillian
the
government-
as
we
all
know,
the
Equality
of
life
to
all
residents
and
the
local
economy,
is
dependent
on
the
call
on
the
Gulf
of
Mexico.
So
we
cannot
let
that
happen.
C
In
addition
to
that,
the
Gulf
of
Mexico
is
very
important
to
our
national
security
due
to
the
flight,
training
and
testing
that
it
takes
place
in
the
Gulf
of
Mexico,
actually
is
the
largest
rated
ground
for
our
military.
So
I
will
suggest
that
we
pass
this
resolution
not
only
good
for
all
people,
it's
good
for
economy,
but
it's
good
for
defense.
C
If
we
approve
his
resolution,
a
copy
of
this
resolution
will
go
to
Governor
Rick
Scott
to
the
Senator
Bill
Nelson
Senator,
Marco
Rubio,
the
Pinellas
County
legislative
delegation,
the
United
States
representative
and
the
Florida
legal
cities.
So
I
want
to
thank
you
for
your
support
in
the
Brotherhood.
Any
questions.
H
H
C
C
C
L
J
C
M
C
With
you,
I
have
someone
else's
to
make
on
Friday
March
16.
We
have
a
free
move
in
on
a
great
park.
It
begins
at
6
p.m.
to
6:00
p.m.
on
Saturday,
March,
17
police
joined
the
city
in
the
city
punch
and
the
key
Parnell
is
beautiful
for
clean
up
at
the
Sunset
Beach.
That
starts
at
8:30
a.m.
to
10:30
a.m.
and
as
mr.
Sesay
announced
earlier
on,
the
march
18
Sunday
March
18.
We
have
the
Greek
independence
parade,
which
that
begins
1:00
p.m.
2:00
or
3:00
p.m.
