Pinellas County public meeting presentation on upcoming improvements to Anclote Road.
A
This
is
the
project
information
meeting
for
the
Anclote
Road
roadway
and
storm
water
improvements.
Preliminary
engineering
report,
the
project
limits
extend
from
Anclote
Boulevard
to
alternate
US
19,
North,
Pinellas
Avenue
for
approximately
2.4
miles.
The
study
scope
includes
examining
existing
conditions,
evaluation
of
needs
and
deficiencies
and
development
of
concepts
for
potential
future
improvements.

existing
roadway
typical
section
consists
of
two
nine
and
a
half
to
ten
foot
Lanes
with
roadside
swales
and
sidewalks
at
some
locations.
The
corridor
characteristics
include
a
posted
speed
of
35
miles
per
hour,
four
90
degree
curves
extensive
pavement,
cracking
localized,
flooding
and
environmentally
sensitive
areas.
The
project
will
evaluate
the
existing
pavement
condition,
roadway
section
characteristics,
sidewalk
connectivity
and
localized
flooding.

the
existing
local
stakeholders
are
listed
here.
It
is
important
to
get
comments
and
feedback
from
as
many
stakeholders
as
possible.
The
project
area's
future
land
uses
include
industrial,
commercial
and
residential
developments.

engineering
report
will
focus
on
drainage,
water,
quality,
roadway
and
safety
improvements,
along
with
providing
an
environment
to
encourage
Economic
Development.
The
preliminary
engineering
evaluation
includes
the
elements
highlighted
in
the
Yellow
Boxes.
The
public
Outreach
is
an
important
element,
as
it
allows
the
public
and
stakeholders
to
provide
their
comments
and
suggestions
for
the
project
area.

break
the
project
into
three-phase
areas,
as
shown
here.
The
project
improvements
will
allow
for
potential
Trail
connections
as
separate
projects
to
the
coastal
Anclote
Trail,
and
the
alpha
spur
Trail.
Two

roadway,
typical
sections
are
being
evaluated
for
the
project.
Alternative
number
one
includes
two
11
foot
wide
Lanes,
a
10-foot
multi-use
path
and
sidewalk
at
some
locations.
In
addition,
swales
and
other
inlets
and
pipes
will
be
provided
for
drainage
and
water
quality.
A

only

bike
lanes
and
sidewalk.

three

the

have
been
modified.

to
eight
foot,
wide
sidewalk
and
curve
and
gutter.
In
addition,
other
inlets
and
pipes
will
be
provided
for
improved
drainage.

10
foot
wide
Lanes
four
foot
wide
on-street
bike
lanes
and
six
foot
wide
sidewalk.
