A
Mister
sergeant
arms
invite
the
members
into
the
chamber
and

pursuant
to
article
2,
section
8
of
the
constitution
of
state
tennessee
and
pursuant
to
the
senate
joint
resolution
771.
I
hereby
declare
the
house
representatives
of
the
112th
general
assembly
of
the
state
of
tennessee
now
in
session
with
members.
Please
stand:
will
the
visitors
in
the
gallery
please
stand
and
remain
standing
through
the
pledge
of
allegiance
leader
lamberth
will
serve
as
chaplain
of
the
day
leader
lamberth.
You
are
recognized.
B
Mr
speaker
and
members
and
guests,
and
all
that
may
be
watching
online,
welcome
back.
It
seems
like
we
were
just
here.
I
think
mainly
because
we
were
so
I'm
humbled
to
serve
with
each
and
every
one
of
you
and
I
genuinely
pray
that
we
have
a
successful
session
that
benefits
the
people
of
this
great
state.
B
I've
missed
you
guys.
I
can't
wait
to
get
to
work,
but
I
had
a
couple
of
passages
that
were
just
laid
on
my
heart
as
part
of
devotion
today
that
I
thought
might
help
us
kind
of
just
keep
things
in
perspective
and
these
all
all
obviously
come
from
the
greatest
book.
That's
ever
been
inspired
or
written
down
on
a
page,
so
from
mark
9,
verse,
35,
it
says
jesus
called
the
twelve
and
said
anyone
who
wants
to
be
first
must
be
the
very
last
and
the
servant
of
all.
B
Philippians
2
verse
3
do
nothing
out
of
selfish
ambition
or
vain
conceit,
rather
in
humility,
value
others.
Above
yourselves,
I
can
proudly
say
that
over
the
last
now
in
my
tenth
year,
in
serving
in
this
body
and
serving
with
every
one
of
you,
I
know
that
each
and
every
one
of
you
put
others
above
yourselves,
both
republicans
and
democrats,
both
folks
from
middle
east
and
west.
You
all
care
more
about
your
communities
and
your
constituents
than
you
do
yourselves,
because
you
sacrifice
your
time.
B
B
I
want
to
thank
my
constituents
for
allowing
me
the
privilege
of
serving
with
you
all,
and
I
hope
and
pray
that
we
show
a
lot
of
love
to
one
another
and
to
every
single
tennessean
by
trying
to
make
sure
that
we
have
good
policies
that
are
put
in
place
this
this
year.
That
will
help
tennessee's
best
days.
Still
be
ahead
with
that,
mr
speaker,
let
us
pray
dear
lord
and
heavenly
father.
You
serve
as
the
perfect
example
of
how
we
should
serve
our
constituents
in
this
great
state.
B
Lord,
please
grant
us
your
grace,
grant
us
your
wisdom.
Please
guide
us
in
every
decision
that
we
make
both
interacting
with
each
other
and
with
the
public
and
just
help
us
to
listen
and
learn
and
love
from
and
with
each
other.
Lord,
just
please
be
with
us.
Please
keep
us
safe
as
we
strive
to
serve.
Please
keep
this
great
state
at
the
forefront
of
your
awesome,
mind
lord
and
just
hold
tennessee
up
and
this
great
nation
up,
so
that
we
truly
can
be
that
shining
city
on
the
hill.
But
we
ask
for
your
blessings.
A
A
D
E
B
B
Thank
you,
mr
speaker.
I'm
not
sure
representative
sparks
is
in
the
chamber
right
now,
but
I'm
sure
he
caught
that
applause
somewhere.
I
also
want
to
recognize
we
have
a
full
gallery
today.
We
have
a
lot
of
members
of
the
public
who
welcome
you,
but
primarily
at
this
moment
I
rise
to
recognize
our
intern
class
for
this
year
and
miss
shirley
fryerson,
who
has
assembled
those.
So
if
you're
one
of
the
interns
please
stand
up
and
y'all
make
them
feel
welcome
and
give
them
a
big
round
of
applause.
Thank
y'all.
F
Thank
you,
mr
speaker,
I
like
to
recognize
today
is
the
birthday
for
my
wife,
pam
she's,
a
baby
boomer
and
we'll
celebrate
our
48th
anniversary
this
year,
but
happy
birthday,
pam.
D
Thank
you,
mr
speaker,
in
this
up
here
in
the
balcony
cole
horner
is
my
new
assistant
and
cole.
Welcome
to
the
general
assembly.
F
G
G
H
I
E
Thank
you,
mr
speaker.
I
would
like
to
recognize
each
and
every
one
of
you
guys.
As
you
know,
I
had
a
few
medical
issues
this
over
the
summer
and
your
thoughts
and
prayers
meant
so
much
to
me.
I'm
doing
much
better
due
to
those
thoughts
and
prayers,
and
I
just
love
each
and
every
one
of
you,
even
you
beau,
and
I
thank
you
so
much
for
for
everything
thank
y'all.
Thank
you.
F
A
J
Speaker
and
members,
I
seen
something
yesterday
that
really
was
inspiring,
even
though
it
was
an
unfortunate
situation.
We
had
a
a
murder
that
was,
it
was
in
north
carolina.
The
man
was
fleeing
north
carolina's
stolen
vehicle
with
his
three-year-old
daughter
riley,
and
someone
called
me
of
the
day
wanted
me
to
look
at
this
went
up
here
to
the
juvenile
detention.
J
Her
juvenile
court,
seen
the
compassion
of
rutherford
county
sheriff's
department,
detective
austin
mobes,
seeing
the
compassion
of
deputy
smotherment
a
female
deputy
embracing
the
little
three-year-old
whose
mother
was
tragically
murdered,
seeing
the
compassion
of
corporal
travis,
but
also
seeing
the
compassion
of
department,
children's
services,
social
workers
and
others,
and
going
through
all
that
I've
seen
you
know,
there's
a
drug
problem.
We've
got
the
guy
was
on
meth
that
killed
the
mother,
seeing
the
folks
working
together,
but
also
start
talking
to
them
social
workers
about
their
caseload.
J
The
young
detective
about
27
years
old,
invited
him
to
church
holland
heights
church
in
smyrna.
What
kind
of
detective
does
that,
but
one
that
cares
so
y'all,
give
it
up
for
detective.
Austin
moves
marshall
police
department,
sheriff's
department,
the
deputy
southern
some
other
than
the
corporal
travis
y'all,
give
him
a
round
of
applause.
F
K
K
But
in
all
seriousness,
mr
speaker,
I
would
like
to
recognize
if
we
can
find
him
in
the
gallery,
the
incoming
president
of
the
university
of
memphis
mr
bill
hardgrave,
he
he's
here.
I
want
to
recognize
him,
but
frankly
he
should
be
giving
us
a
round
of
applause,
because
we
rescued
him
from
auburn
university,
so
he's
going
to
be
joining
the
university
of
memphis
in
march.
We
look
forward
to
him
bringing
his
leadership
to
that
institution.
Thank
you.
I
Thank
you,
mr
speaker.
It's
always
funny
how
I
get
to
follow
the
champion
over
there,
but
I
would
like
to
congrat
congratulate
one
of
my
high
schools
in
the
great
district
powell
high
school
for
winning
the
football
high
school
state
champs.
So
congratulations,
powell,
high
school.

D
Thank
you,
mr
speaker,
for
seven
years
this
house
shoved
me
around
and
pushed
at
me
and
cajoled
me
and
mocked
me,
and
so
I
want
you
to
know
that,
after
seven
years
of
that,
I
have
succumbed
to
acquiring
one
of
these
stinking
phones.
Just
for
you.
