The
boys
brigade
is
one
of
the
largest
Christian
youth
organizations
in
the
UK
and
republic
of
ireland,
and
it
is
committed
to
seeing
lives
enriched
by
supporting
children
and
young
people
to
reach
their
full
potential
by
providing
opportunities
to
meet
together
and
engage
in
a
range
of
fun
and
developmental
activities
and
experiences
for
over
130
years.
The
boys
brigade
has
partnered
local
churches
to
work
with
children
and
young
people
share
in
the
gospel,
and
they
encouraging
the
development
of
a
personal
faith
in
Jesus
Christ.

Today
the
boys
brigade
works
alongside
1,400
churches
of
all
denominations
in
order
to
reach
out
to
over
50,000
children
and
young
people.
Each
week
as
a
youngster
I
myself
became
involved
with
the
boys
brigade
and
the
boys
brigade
played
a
pivotal
role
in
my
life.
For
it
was
through
this
involvement
that
I
eventually
felt
the
call
to
the
ordained
ministry
within
the
church
of
scotland,
so
I'm
truly
thankful
for
the
boys
brigade.

What
is
the
purpose
of
an
anchor?
Its
main
purpose
is
to
stop
a
shift,
a
ship
from
drifting.
The
anchor
is
cast
into
the
sea
so
that
the
vessel
does
not
drift
unnecessarily
from
its
position.
Due
to
current,
the
boys
brigade
offers
a
sense
of
stability
to
so
many
of
our
young
people
and
what
can
often
be
a
stormy
world
long
may
the
boys
brigade
continue
to
flourish.
