Good afternoon, colleagues, uh before I begin just to remind members, as always, that social distancing measures are in place throughout the building and in the chamber just to be careful when we're entering and leaving the chamber now, our first item of business this afternoon. It's time for reflection and our time for reflection leader today is the reverend eric cram from the dundee pensioners forum, reverend cram.

Mr moon, this must be an exciting day for you all aim, as the new program for government is leaders as parliamentarians you, you must be well aware of the tensions between power and service, and, if you're not aware of these things, then you certainly ought to be.

I want to tell you a story from the bible where two of jesus disciples, james and john, they come to jesus and they ask him when you, when you come he to sit on your throne in your glorious kingdom. We want you to. Let us sit with you, one on your right and one on your left.

In other words, they're saying both day when you get into power, will you make us your top dogs.

B

And jesus replies along the line- that's not the way it's going to work in my kingdom. Let me tell you this truth.

B

Whoever would wish to be great must be a servant and whoever would be the greatest of all must be the servant of all.

B

Perhaps the pandemic has taught us that truth.

B

Are we not are not nurses and care workers seem to be the greatest among us, as the program for government is laid out today to truly honor the positions to which you've been elected.

B

You should all of your government and opposition aspire to use whatever powers you have as servants of all the people of scotland.

B

Let me say to you: yours is a high calling, remember that, and it demands that you give your all in the service of others, so be the best you can be. Thank you.
