open
welcoming

If
you
create
these
compounds,

them

houses
because
you
feel
that
you
need
more
privacy,

perhaps
you
don't
like
somebody
across
the
street
or
beside
your
house.

really
is
not
the
type
of
feel

vibrancy

want

meetings

are
concerns

they're
valid
concerns

all

two
main
ones
where
the
privacy
issue

a
sudden,
you
have
a
building
coming
up
in
all
the
four
or
five
houses
going
behind
there.
What
are
the
issues
of
privacy

mean
because
office
you
you've

one
standard

pretty
much,
the
entire
time.

there

all

sudden
there's
a
new
building,

that
and

the
traffic
infiltration

more
people
are
living

potential

from
the

revitalization

way

city

the
beaches,

it

been
over
many

eyesore,
originally

ago
served
a
purpose.

motels,

car

do
not
serve
the
same
kind
of
purpose
to
the
community,
so
we
are
in
the
process
of
revitalization

stretch
of
property
and
I
can
tell
you
one
thing,
starting
at
Victoria
Park,
which
is
the
beginning
of
my
ward,
which
is
the
beginning
of
into
Scarborough.

has
been
an
incredible
amount
of
revitalization.

lot
of
developments
are
coming
in
and
we're
starting
to
see
the
changeover
in
in
building
after
building

building
from
those.
You

that
the
motels,
the
under
the
car
lot
see
unsavory
businesses,
the
the
all
of
that
are
starting
to
change,
which
is
very
positive.
But
of
course,
how
do
we
balance
that
out
with
you
know,
with
these
buildings
coming
into
the
community
and

and

just
down
this

where
this
is
just
let

the
Canadian
Tire
stories.
This
is
right
across

street.
This
is
replacing
an
old
KFC,
an
old
car
lot
and

a
large
vacant

forever

what
it
was

now

is
a
definite
improvement
just
down
the
street.
We
have
the
the
iconic
Havana
motel,
which
I
think
you
probably
driven
by
and
there's

number

motels

looking

ability
to
change
or
transform
a
community
and

what

have
and

you
have
more
car

beside

particular
building
is
a
beautiful

scale
development.
It's
actually
going
to
be
a
high
quality,
really
good
building

building

actually
transform

begin
the
the
change
in
revitalization
in

around

to

developers

are
keen
to
purchase
some

motels
and
look
at
doing
the
same
kind
of
mid-rise.

that's
a
very
positive
aspect
to
the
community
and
again
working

this
developer.
They

privacy
issue.
They
recognize
the
concerns
from
some
of
the
residents
who
just
live
cells,
so
what
they
did
and
then
they
they
came
back
with
revised
means
is
to
look
at
the
step
box.

actually
decided
that
they
were
going
to
put
in
some
double
fighters
to
deal
with
the
privacy
issues.
Hence
we
needed
to
have
the
encroachments
that
staff

mentioned,

what
they've
assured
me

sitting
on
those
balconies
on
the
south
side
in
your

your
balcony

sitting

the

patio,
you
will
not
be
able
to
see
the
backyards
at

they've
really
stepped

to

deal
with
the
privacy
issues,
recognizing
that
a
bit
of
a
balance
has
to

taking

development
that

need

revitalize

stretch
of

change

the

had

application

this
quality

off

single
tick,
ticky
box,

good

This

very
good

not

randomly
out

thin

on

have
done

We
didn't
just
plonk

building
down

We

went
along
Eglinton.

designated
areas
that
should
grow
to
help
accommodate
the
hundred
thousand
people
a
year
that
are
moving
into
the
GTA,
and
so
the
criteria
that
had
to
be
met
for
this
building
were
made
in
advance.

gave
the
applicant
to
landowners
who
I
I,
don't
know
who
they
are,
but
I'm
sure
they're
nice
people,
but
it
gave
those
landowners
the
direction
of
what
was
acceptable
to
the
community.
What
was
not
acceptable
to

community
and
this
application
meets
all
those
criteria.
I
would
say
as
well
when
you
look
at
the
map,
this
application
actually
protects
the
people
who
live
on
those
small
residential
streets.
That
I
know
very
well
on
Eastvale
and
burke
lawn
and
agreed.

when

all

those
properties,
our
official
plan
says
to
developers
and
to
investors
and
de
speculators
and
to
everybody
else.
If
you're
talking

intensify,
you
can
do
it
along
the
frontage
of
Kingston
Road,

can't

stable,
single-family
neighborhood
and
try
to
disrupt
that
neighborhood.

can't
go
down
onto
Eastvale
and
buy
up
three
or
four
or
five
houses
in
a
row
over
time
and
then
come
in
with
a
condo
complex
there
or
even
a
compound

complex
there.

official
plan
and
these
bylaws

approving
this
application
says
these
are
the
rules
you
can
build
here,
but
you
can't
build

So
I
would
say

terms

people's
property
values
and

quality

This

protects

residents

of
property
values

from
high
school,
when

to
be
a
lifeguard

the

swimming

friends
living
on
these
streets

the
auto
dealership,

sometimes

vacant
lot

would
describe
that
front

just
scruffy.

drive

to
your

by

out
there
as
well
and
often
times.

see
we
all
go.

doubt

congestion

control
warrant
safety.

study
conducted
by
the
transportation
services
did
not
support
and
always
stopped
due
to
low
volume
numbers.

plead
and
urge
that
an
always
stop
control
be
installed,
especially
since
the
intersection
is
directly
in
front
of
the
school
and
always
stop.

parking
sign

Bay
upon
inquiring

said

was

parking
sign
removed
