we

a
few
housekeeping
items
that
I'd
like
to

address
before
we
get
into
the
agenda

he
wants

a

minutes

the
congratulations

a
retiring
principal
that's
been
long
serving
in
Scarborough.

the
impact
and

the
contribution
it

terms
of
bringing
people
together
and

on,

also
in
terms
of
significantly
demonstrating
and
showcasing
the
works
of
artists
in
Scarborough
and
and
around
the
city.

it
has
such
an
impact
in
the
livability
of
our
community
and
so
on

Burke

Park

a
treasure
in
our
community.
We
want

invite
more
people
to
come
to
see
the
event
and
the
art
in
the
park

is

council,
thank
you
for
providing
me
an
opportunity
to
speak
to
this
item.
My
name
is
Courtney
Herron
monk
and
I'm,
a
planner
with
Weston
Consulting,
who
is
the
agent
to
the
owner
of
the
property,
I've
reviewed
the
staff
report
and
note
staff's
recommendations
with
respect
to
the
intention
to
designate
under
part
four
section:
29
of
the
Ontario
Heritage
Act
I
just
have
a
few
remarks
to
make,
which
will
summarize
the
content
of
our
written
submission.
I
have
extra
copies
here
if
someone
is
missing
a
copy.
I
So
what
exists
on
the
property
today
is
a
daycare
known
as
the
Tamarack
daycare
center
and
then
a
one
and
a
half
story
house
that's
listed
under
the
city's
Heritage
Register
and
it's
historically
known
as
the
Jorge
Lamar
farmhouse.
The
staff
report
speaks
to
the
submission
of
the
intention
to
demolish
the
farmhouse.
This
submission
was
made
by
the
previous
owner
and
I
would
just
like
community
council
to
be
aware
that
the
property
is
now
under
new
ownership.
The
current
owner
has
no
intention
to
demolish
the
farmhouse
at
all.
I
Our
client
is
in
the
process
of
exploring
the
feasibility
of
a
low-rise
residential
development
on
the
property
in
January.
Our
client
met
with
heritage
preservation
staff
to
discuss
the
future
development
of
the
property
and
had
indicated
staff
had
indicated
in
that,
meaning
that
they
had
would
be
interested
in
finding
a
solution
to
help
showcase
the
farmhouse
in
the
context
of
a
future
development.
Since
the
last
Community
Council
meeting
in
April,
we
were
here
to
request
a
deferral.
I
Our
heritage
consultant
has
prepared
a
preliminary
assessment
report
on
the
farmhouse
and
how
it
could
be
integrated
within
the
context
of
a
new
development.
We
note
there
are
some
differing
of
opinions
between
staff
and
our
heritage
consultant
with
respect
to
the
design
and
associative
and
contextual
values
of
the
farmhouse,
and
so
we're
requesting
a
deferral
to
allow
for
further
dialogue
with
heritage
and
planning
staff.
We've
advanced
our
work
plan
significantly,
but
not
to
the
point
where
we
believe
that
a
designation
would
be
appropriate
at
this
time.

one
of
the
features
that
staff
have
identified
as
historically
significant
is
the
setback
of
the
heritage
home
and
the
setback
is
related
to
this
idea
that
the
driveway
on
the
property
is
an
old
farm
lien,
but
it's
actually
been
paved
and
you
can't
currently
see-
or
at
least
you
can
see,
a
very
small
amount
of
the
farmhouse
from
Midland
Avenue.
Currently,
our
vision
is
to
relocate
the
farmhouse
to
the
corner
of
South
Shields
in
Midland,
so
that
it's
actually
visible
to
the
community
from
both
streets.
So.
