to
you
that
the
impacts

Just

The
backyard
and
then
a
further
payment
to
to
be
compensated
for
a
tree,
reforestation
program
and
that
can
be
then
planted
anywhere
within
the
urban
forestry
purview.
And
how
much
is
that
I
forget
the
cost
of
the
tree.
I
can
ask
that
but
yeah
through
you,
madam
chair,
the
cost
will
be
at
five
hundred
and
eighty
three
dollars
per
tree.
It's
the
it's
the
it's
the
price
that
you
pay
to
ask
this
this
body
for
permission
to
remove
a
tree.
It's
not
optional!
It's
either
it's
not
optional!
Either!
It's
just
just.
A
Did
you
know
that
number
one
is
not
optional,
so
therefore
you
we
can
deny
the
the
request
to
remove
those
two
trees
or
this
body
can
approve
the
removal,
the
two
trees
as
long
as
there's
an
agreement
to
replace
those
two
trees
with
ten
new
trees,
either
on
site,
a
combination
of
on-site
or
cash
in
lieu
payment.
Okay,
did
you
know
that
it's
actually
in
that
in
the
body
of
the
report?
I
almost
said
hello
sharks.
When
I
sat
down
so
I
could
negotiate,
but
I
didn't
think
you'd
think
it
was
funny
at
this
point.
A
So
there
are
some
sharks
here
who,
in
trees
or
finances,
no
I'll
I'll,
take
your
proposal.
I
don't
think
that
I
have
a
choice.
Thank
you.
There's
always
a
choice,
but
but
thank
you
very
much
for
your
for
your
comments.
I
know
it's
been
a
very
long
day.
Are
there
any
other
members
of
the
public
of
the
2228
neighbors,
who
were
prop
perhaps
waited
with
you
who
want
to
come
speak
in
support
of
your
your
request?
Okay,
seeing
none
any
members
with
questions
of
staff.
I
don't
see
okay,
counselor
leighton
go
ahead.
A
Are
the
trees
healthy
trees
through
you,
madam
chair?
Yes,
correct.
The
trees
are
healthy
trees
that
got
good
structure
and
good
health.
Can
you
give
out
an
approximate
age
of
the
trees?
These
are
not
the
trees,
all
right,
no
yeah,
those
are
the
trees.
Those
trees
could
be
50
years
old.
Maybe
okay.
Thank
you
any
other
members
with
questions.
Okay,
so
the
proposal
from
the
applicant
is
to
put
225
foot
full
canopy
trees
to
replace
these
in
the
front
yard.
A
The
after
you
manager,
the
application
we
received
was
to
remove
the
trees
because,
because
of
their
condition,
it
was
claimed
that
they
were
in
poor
condition
and
they
were
elevated
and
they
had
thinned
crowns.
That
was
the
reason
the
application
was
made,
but
that's
not
my
question.
My
question
was
is
the
current
proposal.
Maybe
I
need
to
ask
the
councilor
to
replace
these
with
225
foot
full
canopy
trees
in
the
front
yard.
Sorry
we
didn't
accept
with
like
we
denied
this
permit
application.
So
we
didn't
accept
any
planting
proposal.
A
I
understand,
but
there's
apparently
an
alternative
proposal
just
that
there's
an
alternate
there's
no
alternative
in
the
report
we
yeah.
No.
We
typically
make
a
general
suggestion
that
if
community
council
were
to
approve
the
removal
of
trees,
they
should
be
replaced
at
a
five
to
one
ratio
per
tree.
Thank
you
any
other
members
with
questions
of
staff.
Okay,
seeing
none!
Thank
you.
I
am
going
to
support
the
the
speaker
and
the
applicant
and
and
to
move
a
motion.
A
The
motion
is
to
grant
permission
to
remove
those
two
trees,
that
those
are
spruce,
trees,
evergreen
trees
and
then
to
replace
them
with
at
least
ten
trees,
which
I'll
which
I
know
to
have
at
least
three
of
them.
That
can
adequately
be
placed
back
on
the
subject
property
to
where
the
trees
are
being
removed,
and
then
one
in
the
backyard
and
then
to
provide
cash
and
lieu
compensation
for
the
balance
of
those
seven
trees,
perhaps
somewhere
close
to
the
neighborhood.
It's
very
unusual
to
have
a
neighborhood,
that's
usually
in
agreement
to
remove
healthy
trees.
A
I
think
when
I
first
read
the
report,
I
thought
you
know,
of
course
we're
not
going
to
grant
permission
to
remove
the
healthy
tree.
It
makes
absolutely
no
sense
upon
further
investigation,
although
they're
healthy
trees,
they're,
not
leafy
trees,
they're
sort
of
like
the
the
sort
of
the
spindly
trees
with
the
evergreens
and-
and
I
think
that
what
I
am
hearing
from
the
community
is
that
if
we
are
going
to
put
in
trees
that
are
a
greater
of
desirability
that
created
greater
canopy
and
sort
of
be
a
tree,
that's
going
to
provide
cleaner
oxygen.
