look
at
what
the
experience
is
like
for
using
kubernetes
when
you're
using
Windows
as
a
client,
so
I'm
not
going
to
delve
into
sort
of
Windows
containers
where
you're
sort
of
trying
to
use
the
native
built-in
things,
but
like
what
does
the
client
experience?
Look
like
because
I
think
it's
easy
for
us
in
the
you
know,
I
got
a
Mac
here.
A
lot
of
folks
are
running
Linux
on
the
desktop.
It's
a
lot
of.
A
It's
really
easy
for
a
lot
of
us
to
to
recognize
that
a
lot
of
developers
in
a
corporate
environment
or
the
only
thing
that
they
really
have
is
a
is
a
Windows
machine
and
so
I
think
you
know
a
lot
of
times.
Windows
ends
up
being
a
second-class
citizen
and
when
we
start
looking
at
the
development
experience
and
so
for
me,
I've
been.

of
the
stuff

I've
seen

week
overall
I
think
it's
been
a
pretty
slow
week.
Obviously
with
the
the
core
OS
announcement
last
week,
that
was
pretty
darn
exciting.
So
that
was
the
big
news,
nothing
quite
on
that
level
this
week,
but
there's
a
couple
of
things
that
I
saw
come
along.
That
I
think
are
actually
pretty
interesting.

let
me
go
ahead
and
switch
to
my
screen.
So
the
first
one
is

who's
on

has
been

a

where
he
watches
some
of
the

of

some
really
great
notes

terms
of
what
he's
learned
and
sort
of
what's
worked

really
exciting

sort
of
get
an
idea
of
what
stuff
talked

in
these
different

I
think

The
next
thing
I
wanted
to
talk
about
is
this.
This
was
all
over
hacker
news.
I
haven't
had
a
chance
to
play
with
it.
Yet
this
is
this
thing
called
dot
mesh,
which
I'm
still
honestly
trying
to
wrap
my
head
around
a
little
bit.
A
Snapshots
and
fork
and
reapply
persistent
volumes
or
essentially
you
know,
disk
volumes
that
may
be
sitting
on
your
on
your
machine
and
so
it's
starting
to
treat
sort
of
the
persistence.
The
stateful
part
of
your
stateful
application
as
something
that
you
can
start
manipulating,
similar
to
perhaps
docker
containers
or
or
get
trees.
So
that's
really
interesting.
A
Stuff
I,
like
I,
said
I,
haven't,
haven't,
had
a
chance
to
play
with
it
and
I'm
still
wrapping
my
head
around
it,
but
I
just
wanted
to
give
a
shout
out
to
those
folks
because
it's
really
exciting
to
see
them
do
something
interesting
and
new,
and
you
know
if
you
have
to
think
about
a
little
bit.
It's
got
to
be
a.
A
It's
definitely
got
a
got
to
be
bringing
some
new
ideas
to
the
table,
so
very,
very
cool
stuff
there,
or
at
least
it
looks
cool,
can't,
say,
I've
actually
set
it
up
yet,
but
there's
native
kubernetes
integration
there
and
it
uses
some
of
the
more
advanced
sort
of
integration
features.
Things
like
flex
providers
to
essentially
provide
new
types
of
volumes
for
folks
to
use
so
definitely
plays
on
top
of
the
on
top
of
the
stateful
story
in
kubernetes,
and
then
the
next
thing-
and
this
is
from
the
the
other
folks
in
London
we've
worked.
A
This
thing
called
cure:
D,
which
is
and
I
love
these.
These
things
that
end
up
being
sort
of
these
little
useful
utilities,
because
they
they
they
solve
a
problem.
They
help
sort
of
automate
some
things
that
you
know
that
you
know
and
you
need
to
automate
and
I
love,
seeing
this
stuff
show
up
as
open-source
so
that
other
folks
can
use
it.
A
Let's
say
that
you
have
your
underlying
OS
set
up
to
apply
patches
security
patches
and
automatically
apply
updates
that
will
actually,
if
stuff
is
running
it's
running
but
often
times,
it'll
actually
you'll
need
a
reboot
to
really
have
those
security
fixes
take
effect
and
the
way
that
that
reboot
gets
signaled
is
that
it
puts
the
Sentinel
file
and
that
VAR
run
reboot
required.
And
then,
when
you
log
in
that's
the
thing
that
says
hey,
you
should
reboot
your
your
Linux
machine
or,
if
you're,
using
like
the
desktop,
there's
other.
A
You
know
other
things
that
notify
you
of
that
based
on
this
file.
So
this
thing
keys
off
of
that
file
and
then
it
makes
sure
that
it
only
reboots
one
at
a
time
by
talking
to
kubernetes,
and
then
it
does
a
responsible
sort
of
drains
waits
for
the
waits
for
the
machine
to
be
drained
and
then
does
the
reboot
and
then
sort
of
moves
on
to
the
next
file.
So
that's
that's
a
really
interesting
thing.
A
It's
kind
of
a
sort
of
set
it
and
forget
it
and
there's
some
really
interesting
extended
features
here
like
like
it'll,
go
and
actually
send
you
a
slack
notification.
Saying
hey
this
thing,
rebooted
or
it'll
actually
look
at
prometheus
and
if
there's
an
alert
firing
and
the
the
Prometheus
alert
manager,
it'll
say:
oh,
you
know
something
Bad's
going
down,
let's
not
just
like
make
it
worse
by
starting
to
reboot
stuff.
A
So
that's
actually
really
interesting
too
so
yeah,
so
very,
very
interesting,
stuff,
they're
having
again
haven't
had
a
chance
to
play
with
it,
but
it
definitely
looks
cool
and
then
the
last
thing
I
want
to
talk
about.
This
is
kind
of
a
little
bit
of
inside
baseball
for
the
kubernetes
community.
But
we're
trying
to
you
know
so.
I'm
on
the
steering
committee
for
kubernetes
and
one
of
the
things
that
we're
trying
to
do
is
find
ways
to
grow.
A
The
community,
make
it
more
healthy,
make
it
easier
for
new
people
to
get
involved
and
contribute,
and
as
part
of
doing
that,
we're
trying
to
have
more
decision-making,
be
concentrated
in
these.
In
these
subgroups
of
kubernetes
called
SIG's
special
interest
groups,
and-
and
so
as
part
of
that,
we're
doing
things
like
making
sure
that
every
piece
of
code
in
the
kubernetes
project
is
owned
by
a
sig,
so
that
you
know
who
you
talk
to
if
you
want
to.
If
you
want
to
go
and
if
you
want
to
go
and
change
something
or
understand
something.
A
But
then
we
also,
you
know,
there's
always
some
a
little
bit
of
push
and
pull
of
what
what
projects
are
part
of
kubernetes
and
what
projects
aren't
part
of
kubernetes.
And
we
have
this
incubator
process.
But
you
know
that
wasn't
always
working
out
well
and
so
there's
a
proposal
out
here
and
and
Brendan
burns
also
on
the
steering
committee,
one
of
the
other
co-founders
of
kubernetes.

It's
in
some
email
about
this.
But
essentially
what
we're
going
to
be
doing
is
we're
going
to
have
the
stuff
in
the
kubernetes
organization,
be
really
sort
of
the
core
of
the
project
as
much
as
possible,
at
least
moving
forward
for
for
new
new
code.
And
so
the
idea
is
that
that's
the
stuff.
That's
going
to
be
part
of
the
the
kubernetes
release,
however,
that
ends
up
evolving
and
then
and
then
the
next
step
from
that
is
that
we're
going
to
have.

We
have
a
another
organization
called
kubernetes
SIG's
and
that's
going
to
be
a
place
where,
if
SIG's
have
sub
projects
that
they
want
to
start
working
with,
they
can
just
go
ahead
and
start
doing
that
stuff
right
away
without
having
to
talk
to
anybody
else.
So
the
sig
actually
is
empowered
to
go
ahead
and
start
new
sub
projects
are
in
kubernetes,
and
so
just
this
morning,
I
was
on
the
sig.

A
double
us
call
and
there's
talk
about
starting
up
a
project
to
encrypt
secrets
using
Amazon
kms,
and
so
that's
a
little
sort
of
connector
thing.
There's
a
G
RPC
interface
for
the
I
believe
for
the
API
server
to
be
able
to
do
that,
and
so
that's
a
sub
project.
That's
going
to
be
started,
probably
in
the
end,
the
kubernetes,
sig
repo
and
then
beyond
that
there's
the
did
three
other
okay.
Well,
let's
just
we
can
go,
there's
a
lot
of
comments
in
here,
because
nothing
happens
in
kubernetes
without
a
lot
of
comments.

But
there's
this
idea
of
as
I
was
going
to
reverse
order.
So
there's
core
repositories,
there's
the
cig
repositories,
and
then
we
have
this
thing
called
associated
repositories,
and
this
is
the
idea
that
these
are
things
that
are
not
you
know,
run
or
approved
by
kubernetes,
but
they
want
to
make
it
easier
for
people
who
are
part
of
the
kubernetes
orbit
to
contribute
so
they'll.
A
They
can
adopt
the
CN
CF
CLA,
adopt
the
kubernetes
code
of
conduct
and
then
have
a
license,
and
so-
and
this
also
will
will
grease
the
skids,
if
makes
sense,
you
know
for
these
things
to
be
adopted
into
into
core
kubernetes.
At
some
point
you
know
all
of
this
sort
of
legal
mumbo-jumbo
will
already
be
set
up
to
be
able
to
do
that.
So
that's
an
exciting
thing,
because
we're
trying
to
really
unlock
velocity
and
really
let
sig
sort
of
own
their
own
destiny
in
terms
of
they
decide
what
they
want
to
do.

so
no
talking
about
Windows.
Yet
that's
all
sort
of
like
what's
going
on
in
the
kubernetes
world.
So
let's
talk
about
Windows
because
I
think
that's
any
other
sort
of
like
it's
been
a
slow
week,
I
think
in
terms
of
new
projects
and
such
did
I
miss
anybody
anything.
Does
anybody
have
any
any
other
any
other
projects
that
they
that
they
want
to
want
to
call
out
here,
I'm
happy
to
take
a
quick
look,
anything
that's
new
but
barring
that
I'll
just
watch
the
comments
there.

it's
kind
of
getting
getting

little
out

hand

but
this
is
just
totally

is

allowed

do
this
thing
on
this
resource,
and
then
it
has

essentially
programming
language
that
lets
you
specify
rules
that
are
more
flexible
than
sort

a
static
sort

are
back

type

thing.
So
it's
it's
really
kind
of
interesting
there
and
you
can
call
this

own
code
or

can
call
it
from
like
kubernetes
or
there's
adapters
to
use,
like
you

ssh

pseudo
authorization
and
stuff,
like
that.
So
that's
kind
of
cool
the
you
know,
and
I
think,
when
you
look
at
an
authorization
like
this
there's
really
sort
of
two
ways
to
look
at
it.

have
the
system
have
its
own
built
in
system,
so
that'd
be
something
like

can

pluggable
work
and
call
to
some
other
system

you're
either
pushing
policy

pull

Windows
computer
running

The
Windows
client
desktop
sort
of
image
in,
as
your
launched
it
and
then
I'm
going
to
be
talking
to
that
via
RDP,
which
is
their
most
remote
desktop
protocol
for
Microsoft
and
there's
a
reason
why
I
did
this
I
started
going
down
the
path
preparing
for
this
episode,
where
I
went
and
I
got
a
copy
of
Windows
and
and
I
made
the
mistake
of
buying
the
home
version
of
Windows.

Now
it
turns
out
that
I
get
a
discount
when
buying
Windows,
because
I'm
ex
Microsoft
and
there's
this
Alumni
Association
thing
you
can
join.
So
that's
a
nice
perk,
but
I
bought
the
home
version
of
Windows
and
then
I
was
going
to
run
it
with
something
like
like
VMware,
fusion
or
or
parallels,
or
you
know
VirtualBox
or
something
like
that.
The
problem
with
that,
though,
is
that
part
of
this
experience
is
using
is
using
docker
on
Windows,
right
and
so
docker
on
Windows.

It
actually
uses
sort
of
the
hyper-v
stuff
built
into
Windows
to
be
able
to
launch
a
Linux
container
under
the
covers,
and
so
so
what
I
really
wanted
to
do
is
actually
have
a
a
Mac
running,
a
VM
running
Windows
and
then
have
that
Windows
VM
running
Linux
via
the
the
docker
stuff,
and
so
that's
sort
of
like
virtual
machines
running
other
virtual
machines.
It's
called
nested,
virtualization
and
and
I
don't
believe
that
the
desktop
virtualization
solutions
for
the
Mac
support
nested
virtualization,
like
that.

In
addition,
you
need
the
pro
version
of
Windows
to
be
able
to
access
the
hyper-v
stuff
and
that
docker
for
Windows
uses
and
to
be
able
to
use
docker
for
Windows
on
top
of
on
top
of
windows,
and
so
so
there
are
a
couple
closet,
so
both
Google
and
Microsoft
support,
nested,
virtualization
and
so
I
I
launched
the
the
VM
in
Azure
and
then
inside
that
VM
docker
is
going
to
launch
and
manage
another
VM
under
the
covers.
It's
a
little
bit
baroque,
but
it's
it's
workable.

The
one
thing
that
you'll
see,
though,
is
that
the
Windows
desktop
is
going
to
be
on
a
Windows
on
my
Mac.
It's
going
to
be
in
a
window
and
and
everything
that
I'm
doing
is
over
the
network,
so
so
the
latency
is
a
little
bit
high,
so
yeah.
So
this
is
this.
Is
the
the
Windows
VM
that
I
launched
so
one
of
the
nice
things
about
a
sure
that
I
found
out
is
that
when
you
launch
this,
you
can
set
it
up
such
that
it
automatically
shuts
the
thing
down.

can
set
these
shutdown
policies
at
the
end
of
the
day
and
I
believe
AWS
just
released
just
like
I,
don't
know
this
week
a
feature
that
did
something
similar
where
you
can
actually
set
some
schedules
for
for
how
things
come
up
and
down
and

believe
that
that's
something
that's
available
on
on
Google
that
I'm,
aware
of
so
yeah
all

doing

image

you

go
through
and

feature
backlog
