From YouTube: YUI Open Roundtable Dec 12, 2013
Description
An open discussion forum for all things YUI
A
All
right,
we
are
live.
Welcome
to
the
next
yy
open
round
table
thursday
december
12
2013.,
I'm
here
with
clarence
leon,
hey,
hey
everybody!
A
I'm
going
to
take
a
minute
to
share
the
link
out
to
the
world,
so
I
thought,
maybe
you
might
talk
a
little
bit
about
some
of
the
things
are
going
on
this
week.
B
All
right
so
yeah
we're
planning
to
get
a
release
out
next
week.
It's
going
to
be
a
minor
patch
release
and
the
main
goal
of
our
minor
patch
release
for
this
week
is
to
basically
have
ie,
11
and
chrome
for
android
4
4
support
which
we
didn't
have
in
the
last
one.
So
if
you
take
a
look
on
our
like
latest
master
branch
you'll,
we
do
have
the
ie11
support
going
in
and
we're
just
fixing
up
a
few
more
bugs
for
chrome
for
android
44
before
getting
it
out.
A
So
yeah,
if
you
have
something
that
you've
noticed
in
the
current
release,
that
you
feel
like
is
like
something
that's
terribly
broken.
Or
you
have
a
feature
that
that
just
came
in
that
you
found
the
issue
and
just
let
us
know
as
soon
as
you
can,
via
irc
or
email.
B
So
yeah
we
could
one
of
the
things
that
we're
looking
for
is
just
there's
an
open
issue
for
android
4
4
out,
which
is
just
dealing
with
some
of
the
weird
scroll
issues
that
we
have
found
there.
So
if
anyone
is
familiar
with
android
and
you're
willing
to
help
take
a
look
at
this,
we
really
appreciate
your
support,
so
you
saw
ryan's
fix
right
for
the
first
one
so
that
that's
probably
so,
oh
I
didn't
see
you
recently.
It
looks
like
he
has
a
few
new
commits
there.
So
we'll
take
a
look.
A
B
A
So
one
thing
I
wanted
to
bring
up
as
of
this
week,
like
everyone
is
really
busy
and
we're
getting
ready
to.
You
know
sort
of
wind
down
for
the
holidays,
so
our
guest
list
is
kind
of
light,
but
one
of
the
things
that
both
clearance
I've
been
doing
is
lining
up
a
bunch
of
guest
speakers
for
future
round
tables.
And
in
light
of
that,
I
wanted
to
tell
everybody
that
if
you
go
to
the
open
round
table
page
there's
a
link
now
to
just
click
and
go
it'll.
A
B
A
So
there's
that,
and
I
know
that
people
are
chomping
at
the
bit
for
the
nothing
just
to
change
the
subject
about
the
youtube
videos.
Those
videos
are
apparently
in
the
mail
coming
to
us.
So
once.
A
A
B
B
And
let's
see
all
right
so
do
you
have
anything
else
on
eurekan
trim?
You
were
mentioning.
A
B
Yes,
I
know
if
you
had
a
chance
to
look
at
it
yeah
I
did
so
yeah.
It
was
basically
a
derek
wrote,
a
blog
post
on
the
work
he
was
doing
with
yui
benchmark
and
that's
the
benchmark
tool
that
he
wrote
that
works
with
any
javascript
library,
whether
you're
using
yui
or
not.
B
So
that's
something
that
is
really
interesting
and
it's
the
real
I've
used
it
myself
personally
and
it
works
with
both
like
node
and
browser
side,
javascript
and
the
great
thing
about
it
is
that
you
can
basically
take
any
git
repository
and
just
compare
any
like
get
shot
or
tag
or
branch
and
compare
that
with
like
something
else,
and
that's
the
real
value
that
you
have
with
that.
So
you
could
do
like
if
you're
about
to
do
a
release
and
you
want
to
make
sure
it
meets
the
criteria.
B
Exactly
so
make
sure,
like
you
didn't,
do
anything
in
this
last
release
that
then
like
completely
screw
up
performance
in
your
previous
one.
So
yeah,
it's
really
awesome.
So
is
it
ready
for
prime
time
or
is
it
still
kind
of
and
works
yeah,
so
we've
been
testing
it
out
and
it
seems
great
it
works
out
really
well.
So
definitely,
I
think
it's
more
than
ready
to
be
used
in
any
other
product
it
as
a
tool
cool.
A
A
Let's
see
we're
just
trucking
right
along
I'm
glad
we're
doing
this
quick.
So
can
you
tell
me
a
little
bit
about
what
happened
last
week?
Just
a
recap,
so
people
can
go
and
check
it
out.
You're
talking
with
t,
oh.
B
Yeah
so
last
week
we
were
talking
with
chef
from
kanawha
and
yeah.
So
basically,
what
we
had
last
week
was:
he
talked
about
some
of
the
work
that
he
was
doing
with
juju
over
there
and
it's
a
full
open
source
project
and
I
think
it's,
the
largest
yui
framework
application.
That's
actually
open
source
out
there,
so
yeah
the
link
on
there
is
on
the
yui
one,
and
you
can
you
can
all
like
just
check
it
out,
there's
a
lot
of
like
great
stuff.
B
In
there
we
talked
about
like
some
of
the
stuff
he
was
using
to
like
compose
views.
Some
data
binding
work
that
he
was
using
over
there
and
some
features
that
he
did
so
he
could
inside
of
white
out
router
so
that
he
could
so
his
team
could
beta
test
features
just
by
putting
a
flag
inside
the
url.
So
there's
a
lot
of
really
awesome
stuff
there
that
you
can
try
out.
Were
there
things
that.
B
So
I
think,
right
now,
it's
more
specific
to
their
application.
They
have
a
few
widgets
that,
if
you're
interested
in
taking
a
look
at
the
code
for
that,
you
can
use
that
inside
your
own
application,
like
their
idea
of
viewlets,
which
are
just
like
these
small
views
that
you
can
use
inside
of
a
regular
view.
A
Cool,
I
know:
wasn't
it
eric
talking
about
a
while
back
about
having
a
multiple
views
inside
of
like
nested
views
and
things
like
that.
B
B
Of
soon
so
we'll
be
taking
a
look
at
that
we
bring
in
like
composite
views,
either
we're
a
bit
busy
this
week
with
some
work
that
we're
doing,
but
that's
definitely
like
something
that
we'll
have
we'll
be
working
on.
If
not
like
this
much
then
straight
at
the
beginning
of
next
year.
Right,
so
maybe
that's
that
might
be
useful
to
see
that,
in
terms
of
just
looking
at
the
environment
out
there
and
see
what
people
are
already
building
yeah.
B
So
we
have
a
few
like
frameworks
that
people
have
already
built
on
top
of
like
the
yui
framework,
for
example
like
miata,
which
was
talked
about
at
like
the
previous
years.
You
econ,
so
we've
been
taking
like
some
of
the
ideas
that
they've
had
and
we've
been
bringing
them
back
together,
and
so
we
might
use
that
as
what
we
want
to
have
as
composite
views
inside
of
yui
core
are
those.
B
Yet
I
think,
there's
been
bits
and
pieces
of
it.
I
think
everyone's
been
doing
it.
A
little
bit
differently
like
canonical,
has
has
their
idea
of
viewlets
with
juju
miata
as
their
own
way,
and
everyone
basically
has
been
doing
like
composite
views
a
little
bit
differently.
We
want
more
like
generic
way
that
people
can
use
to
just
bring
it
all
together.
Do
you
know
if
the.
B
That
as
well,
I
know
that
they
were
walking.
They
were
talking
about
the
other,
so
that's
more
on,
like
the
server-side
rendering
front,
I
don't
think
they've
done
that
much
in
terms
of
like
composition,
right,
so
that's
something
that
we'll
be
doing
on
their
own
cool.
A
All
right
well,
another
thing
I
wanted
to
bring
up
is-
and
this
is
the
time
of
the
year
where
people
may
be
thinking
about
you
know
a
greener
pastures
or
finding
a
better
place
to
work,
and
I
wanted
to
just
call
out
that
on
our
website
we
have
a
link
for
we're
actively
looking
for
positions
for
the
yy
team.
A
So
if
you
go
to
the
yy
blog
dot
com,
slash
blog,
slash,
yy,
dash
team
dash
positions,
there's
nothing
specifically
called
out
there,
but
that
that
link
when
you
go
to
the
details,
link
will
show
you
the
the
email
address
that
you
could
send
resumes
to.
So
we're
we're
constantly
looking-
and
you
know
you
can
tell
by
the
stock
price
that
we're
growing
rapidly.
A
So
are
you
going
to
put
out
a
blog
post
specifically
for
what
we're
looking
for
yeah
I'll
talk
further
with
jenny,
but
there's
nothing
specific
right
now,
but
we're
we're
just
we're
hiring
for
like
across
all
of
yahoo,.
B
A
Our
team
there's
there's
at
least
I
know.
B
A
B
So
on
the
yui
team
and
even
like
across
yahoo,
one
of
the
things
we're
looking
for
are
node.js
developers.
I
think
that's
something
that's
been
in
talks.
People
have
been
talking
about
throughout
the
company,
so,
if
you're
interested
in
doing
like
node.js
development,
we're
definitely
like
one
of
the
biggest
users
of
it
and
we're
definitely
interested
in
doing
a
lot
more
interesting
right.
That.
A
B
Scope,
so
this
release
is
going
to
be
like
a
lot
smaller.
The
only
things
that
we're
both
we're
going
to
be
handling
this
week
is
ie11
chrome
for
android
4.4,
so
we're
just
bringing
up
support
for
that
and
we'll
be
updating
the
gps
with
those
two
browsers
right,
and
we
also
have
like
a
few
regressions.
Well,
one
regression
right
shorts,
yeah,.
A
A
Yeah,
if
you're
especially
ambitious,
you
could
actually
pull
the
branch
right
now
and
try
things
out.
So
that's
it's
also.
B
Available
already
on
github,
so
yeah
exactly,
I
think
like.
If
you
go
on
github,
it's
the
release,
dash
3.14.1
branch.
A
So
the
only
thing
I
had
is
so
next
week
are
we
planning
to
have
an
open
round
table.
You
believe.
B
Or
next
week
sure
we'll
try
to
get
someone
in,
for
that
so
it'll
be
when
there's
another
yeah
it'll
probably
be
the
last
one
for
this
year,
since
the
holidays
will
be
that
next,
following
month,
yeah.
A
Definitely
so
last
thing
I
had
was
really
just
a
few
stale
pull
request.
I
wanted
to
bring
up.
I
went
through
a
lot
of
those,
so
if
you
are
a
community
member
and
you
have
a
pull
request-
that's
been
sitting
around
for
longer
than
say
a
week.
Let
me
know
directly
either
on
irc
or
email
or
whatever,
and
we
can
get
the
right
people
looking
at
that,
because,
if
it's
longer
than
a
week
it's
considered
stale,
I
want
to
want
to
not
have
any
of
those
sort
of
hanging
around.
A
And
that
one
is
widget
modality,
so
this
was
originally
assigned
to
like
derek,
but
now
that
we
have
some
gaps
in
time
there.
We
need
to
find
someone
to
take
a
look
at
that.
I'm
not
sure
who
owns
widget
was
that
the
one
that
was
just
like
moving
things.
B
A
So
no
another
one
you're
talking
about
that's
that's
another
one.
Okay,
the
one
you're
talking
about
is
from
the
the
life
reagan.
Folks
right
yeah.
This
one
is.
A
So
where'd
it
go.
Oh
yeah
that
one
looks
like
all
the
tests
are
there,
so
it
looks
pretty
straightforward.
It
just
needs
an
owner.
I
think
so
there's
that
one
there's
one
six
one
eight.
B
A
Curious
about,
basically,
I
think.
A
Yeah
the
thing
that
concerns
me
about
these
older
bugs
is
that
the
older
an
issue
is
the
less
likely
it
is
to
get
in,
because
the
code
is
like
moving
on
yeah,
that's
true,
so
the
trick
for
this
one
is
it.
Hopefully
we
can
get
in
before,
like
things
change
so
much
that
I'd
rather
be
resubmitted,
and
last
one
was
eight.
Eight
nine.
A
Again,
this
calls
out
the
need
to
you
know
some
of
the
library
folks.
I
wonder
if
they've
had,
if
any
of
the
team
members
on
there
have
had
enough
qualifying,
commits
yet
to
be
considered
as
a
as
a.
B
A
B
No,
this
week's
it's
pretty
light,
yeah,
it's
pretty
light,
we're
getting
towards
the
holiday
and
we're
all
working.
A
On
our
own
things,
I
guess
yeah
there's
a
lot
of
behind
the
scenes,
things
that
we'd
love
to
be
able
to
show
you,
and
I
guess
we
will
next
year
when
they
come
to
fruition.
Yeah.
Definitely,
let's
see
well,
that's
all
I
had
and
I
don't
want
to
draw
things
out
too
long
outside
was
there
anything
you
want
to
discuss
or
have
open
questions
about?
Let
me
see,
does
anyone.
A
A
Yeah,
I
think
so
I
think
everyone's
kind
of
like
distracted.
So
there
are
some
pretty
cool
people
that
we've
been
lined
up.
I'm
not
sure
if
you
freed
them
yet
because
we
probably
haven't
committed
yet
but
yeah,
exactly
there's
if
you
do
have.
If
you
do
work
in
a
company,
that's
dealing
with
yui
and
you
want
to
just
even
come
and
do
a
demo
of
your
product.
B
Yeah
and
if
you
don't
know
what
to
talk
about
just
feel
free
to
get
on
irc
or
email
me
directly
and
we
can
help,
you
comment,
sell
some
content,
so
yeah
definitely.
A
There's
a
couple
things
coming
up
for
y
weekly,
but
that
that'll
be
shown
up
then
there's
nothing
like
earth
shattering.
So
if
that's
it,
I
can.
We
can
just
bring
things
to
close
this
week
and
get
ready
for
next
week.
Yeah
so
we'll
be
lining
up
someone
definitely
and
we'll
be
announcing
it
on
irc
and
on
youtube.
I
mean
not
youtube
on
twitter,
so
we
shall
see
you
next
week.
All
right
cool,
see
ya.
