A
This
is
the
april
12th
meeting
of
the
asd
communications
committee,
commencing
at
3
31
pm
chair,
andy
holleman
in
attendance
member
lessons,
member
jacobs,
I.t
director
mike
fleckenstein,
member
bellamy
is
there
katie
grant
our
board
secretary
mj
tim
and,
if
there's
anyone
else,
I
can't
tell
is
anyone
else
in
the
room
if.
A
A
I've
done
a
little
bit
on
this
member
lessons
and
it
director,
mike
fleckenstein,
have
volunteered
to
participate,
we'll
be
using
the
wiki
resources
of
google,
which
means
that
we
can
use
people's
asd
credentials
to
permission.
Different
pages
mike
reminded
me
that
this
is
referred
to
as
a
living
document,
something
that
will
pieces
it
will
get
assembled
in
pieces
and
pieces
of
it
will
change.
It
won't
be
like
a
single
author,
that's
responsible
for
all
of
it,
but
I
will
get
together
with
them
in
the
about
a
week
or
so
and
set
up
the.
A
What
I
envision
is
setting
up
the
bones
of
it
so
to
speak,
and
then
finding
making
a
list
of
topics
in
consultation
with
everybody
else
and
then
seeking
people
to
take
a
particular
topic
and
create
a
page
or
write
up.
That'll
give
us
like
the
initial
batch
of
pages
and
information,
we'll
sort
of
look
at
it,
see
how
it's
coming
together
and
then
kind
of
go
forward
from
there
and
begin
accumulating
more
and
more,
as
we
have
a
chance.
A
Board
members
and
then
more
general
pages,
it
might
be
more
of
a
reference
when
people
have
questions
they'd
be
able
to
turn
to
it
and
perhaps
answer
questions
on
their
own
as
they
make
their
way
through
their
life
as
an
asd
board
member.
So
that's
where
that
stands
right
now.
Anyone
else
have
questions,
comments,
suggestions.
C
Chair,
I
I
just
wanted
to
you
know.
I
remember
when
I
think
it
was
20
I
retired
in
2016..
I
think
they
had
the.
C
I
think
they
called
it
the
board
academy.
I
just
personally.
Maybe
it's
because
I
already
knew
what
those
departments
did,
but
I
really
found
it
really.
I
didn't
find
I
didn't.
I
couldn't
make
half
of
them
because
of
the
timing,
and
so
I
think
some
flexibility
whenever
whatever
we
do,
it
needs
to
probably
take
into
consideration
that
people
are
either
working
or
so
I
don't
know.
C
I
think
I
I
kind
of
like
the
idea
of
visiting
different
departments,
but
I
also
know
that
we
are
living
in
a
different
world
now
than
we
were
three
years
ago
relative
to
how
we
protect
those
who
work
in
our
in
our
in
our
in
our
buildings.
So
I
I
just
think
we
need
to
keep
that
ins
in
mind
and
maybe
look
at
doing
little
vignettes,
that
people
can
watch
from
home
or
whatever
I
don't
know.
I
don't
have
the
id
the
answer,
but
it
doesn't.
A
And
actually
this
is
meant
to
be
in
lieu
of
in
person
and
it
wouldn't
preclude
that,
but
also
to
what
I
think
you
were
talking
about
yeah.
I
found
the
visit
to
the
transportation
center
in
lightning
that
wasn't
somewhere.
I
had
ever
been
in
the
course
of
my
employment
with
asd,
and
if
we
did
another
in-person
visit,
it
wouldn't
stop
anyone
from
pulling
out
their
iphone
and
say
doing
a
panorama
of
the
shop
or
you
know
like
a
walk
around
of
one
of
the
buses.
A
When
what
the
director
is
explaining
some
of
the
features
and
whatnot
and
so
a
wiki
can
have
video,
you
can
have
spreadsheets
that
really
can
have
any
kind
of
computer-based
content,
and
it's
just
done
in
a
way
where
it's
easy
enough
for
someone
to
pull
up
the
part
they
want
without
having
to
wade
through.
A
You
know
you
don't
have
to
start
at
the
beginning
and
go
to
the
end
so
to
speak,
but
also
I'm
I'm
thinking.
There
could
be
a
section
where
people
do
find
certain
in-person
visits
really
helpful.
There
might
be
a
quick
cookbook.
These
are
the
people
we
need
to
contact.
These
are
the
places
you
want
to
see.
D
Thanks
yeah,
I
think
president
bellamy,
that
was
a
great
question
and
concern.
I
know
that
having
recorded
webinars
through
the
aasb
was
a
step,
a
positive
step
in
that
I
think
the
right
direction.
I
think
this
is
a
great
excuse
to
use
you
know
a
gopro
or
something,
as
you
know,
you
walk
through
the
student,
nutrition
and
there's
there
are
the
vats
of
you
know
spaghetti.
D
So
I
think
that
we
can.
I
think
that
we
can
build
towards
accessible
information
that
can
happen
regardless
of
whether
you're
you're
care,
giving
or
you're
working
or
you
know,
you've
got
a
free
moment
on
a
saturday
afternoon,
so
yeah.
So
I'm
looking
forward
to
helping
out
with
that
project.
C
Sure,
thank
you
just
making
sure
that
I,
I
guess
I
don't
necessarily
think
we
should
have
the
public
contacting
individual
departments.
We
need
to
have
a
structure
in
place.
C
At
least
I
would
like
to
see
a
structure
where
we
are
controlling
those
visits
and
making
sure
that
it
is
not
an
imposition
on
staff
to
do
those
visits
so,
but
we
can
work
all
that
out
in
the
you
know
in
the
in
the
making
of
this
cake,
but
I
I
just
I
just
don't
want
to
have
I
called
and
kelly
called,
and
you
called
we
could.
We
could
suck
up
all
the
staff
time
just
responding
to
to
us
right.
C
A
And,
and
just
to
be
clear,
this
is
this
is
about
creating
a
bank
of
information
that
people
would
just
access
on
their
own
it
this
this
isn't
about
facilitating
visits
anywhere.
A
Any
other
questions
comments:
if
not,
we
move
to
the
superintendent
search.
Do
we
need
a
an
announcement
on
where
we're
at?
I
think
most
board
members
know.
C
Yes,
mr
chair,
we
are
at
the
nego,
we
are
still
in
the
phase
of
five.
I
think
it
is
negotiating
a
contract.
C
We
hope
to
have
that
phase
completed,
if
not
by
the
end
of
this
work
day.
First
thing
in
the
morning
I
have
worked
with
both
communications
with
and
with
katie,
so
mj
katie
and
I
have
have
a
have
designed
a
a
a
rollout.
I
guess
is
what
they
call
it
in
media
land
and
what
that's
going
to
look
like.
However,
the
whole
thing
is
dependent
upon
having
a
negotiated,
an
agreement
so.
A
Okay,
social
media
outreach-
that
would
be
mr
tim.
B
So
we
have
hired
our
our
our
new
social
media
specialists
started
about
three
weeks
ago.
Her
name
is
mae
fraser
and
if
you
haven't
perused
our
social
media
platforms
recently,
please
do
we've
increased
our
content
and
in
our
output.
B
But
we
are
our
main
platforms
that
we're
going
to
be
managing.
Are
facebook,
twitter,
instagram
and
linkedin
we're
still
working
on
how
we
want
to
manage
youtube,
so
we're
still
kind
of
fleshing
that
out.
But
those
are
our
four
focuses
right
now:
we'll
do
the
district
level
and
get
a
rhythm
in
place
with
best
practices
in
a
workflow
and
once
we've
established
and
identified
a
strategy
for
that,
then
we're
going
to
move
down
to
the
individual
school
levels.
B
We've
started
research
for
what
the
schools
are
currently
doing
and
identifying
areas
that
we
need
to
support
them
on
or
provide
them
guidance.
So
once
we
get
the
district
set
up,
then
we'll
move
down
to
the
school
level
as
well,
but
really
exciting.
So
if
you
guys
see
anything
or
have
any
suggestions
or
whatnot,
please
let
me
know.
A
Oh,
and
I
don't
miss
bellamy
is,
I
don't
know
if
your
hand
is
still
up
or
to
stop
okay.
C
I
I
just,
I
think
you
missed
the
legislative
update
or
did
I
miss
it.
A
A
Yeah
sure
did
we'll
go
back
to
that
right
after
this
okay
member
jacobs,.
E
Thank
you,
mr
chair,
so
question
for
mj.
I
wanted
to
first
acknowledge
that
I've
closely
followed
her
social
media
and
the
difference
of
that
extra
level
of
staffing
has
been
evident.
So
I
got
a
chance
to
meet
mae
briefly
and
she's,
going
to
be
a
great
addition
to
the
team
excited
to
have
her.
Do
we
have
I
mean?
Is
there
a
thought,
evolution
as
to
where
we're
at
on
I've
kind
of
been
throwing
the
idea
out
there?
E
B
We
actually
have
we
just
started
that
and-
and
I
actually
engaged
the
cabinet
today
to
let
them
know
we're
we're
working
on
engaging
on
those
direct
messages
and
then
engaging
on
comments,
but
not
all
comments
and
not
all
direct
messages,
because,
as
we
know,
some
of
that
stuff
is
just
to
bait
us
and
it's
not
in
our
best
interest
to
engage.
But
overall
we
should
be
engaging
on
those
on
those
levels.
B
It
increases
our
engagement
factor
on
social,
but
it
also
closes
the
loop
and
provides
useful
information
for
our
families
and
helps
educate
those
who
don't
know
about,
but
it
also
helps
us
get
ahead
and
be
proactive
to
try
to
get
in
front
of
some
things
that
may
get
into
an
echo
chamber
on
social
as
well.
So,
yes,
we've
started
that
process.
A
Yes,
please
go
ahead.
Yeah.
E
B
Yep
thanks,
hey
and
if
you,
if,
if
you
see
something
and
and
we
haven't
caught
it,
please
flag
us,
so
we
can
look
at
that
and
figure
out
how
we
want
to
engage.
D
Yeah
hey:
this
is
a
question
I
mean
if
there
is
factually
incorrect
information
that
is
say
circulating
on
you
know
in
media.
That's
something
I'm
echoing
now.
How
is
that
going
to
be
respond?
Can
that
be
responded
to.
B
B
You
have
you've
got
you
have
you
have
to
understand,
too.
Is
that
you
have
people
who
are
shadowing
themselves
as
something
else.
You
also
have
bots
out
there,
and
so
you,
you
know
it
just
it
depends
on
who
is
making
the
post
and
what
the
content
is
and
then
also
you
know
how
much,
how
much
engagement
that
it's
getting
so.
Basically,
I
think
it's
just
a
case-by-case
situation.
C
Thank
you,
mr
chair,
and
I
really
would
like
to
hear
from
the
administration
on
you
know
their
thoughts
on
you
know.
This
is
there's
just
so
much.
I
don't
even
know
where
to
start,
but
I
really
do
want
to
thank
the
administration
for
being
responsive
to
all
of
my
questions
on
everything
from
gender
related
to
athletics
and
recreation
and
teams
and
sports
and
there's
just
a
lot
going
on,
and
I
think
we
just
really
need
to
pay
attention.
C
I
mean
that
that
bill
alone
will
dismantle
the
works
of
school
boards
statewide
for
for
years
to
come
anyway,
so
that-
and
I
do
want
to
thank
people
who
have
taken
out
of
their
busy
days
to
call
in
and
testify,
because
that's
really
what
it's
going
to
take.
C
I
do
so
in
terms
of
an
update,
I
think.
On
saturday,
the
house
passed
the
operating
budget
and
I
know
that
it
looks
good,
but
I
don't
know
the
total
impact
to
asd
and
we
may
not
have
had
an
opportunity
to
at
least
in
this
stage
of
the
bill:
57
million
to
increase
k-12
schools,
1.2
billion
to
forward
fund
education
to
give
our
schools
budgeting
stability.
C
F
You
know
what
we,
it
sounds
good
like
you
said,
but
it
still
has
a
whole
other
half
and
then
a
government
to
go
through.
I
can
see
that
bill
coming
from
the
house
changing
quite
a
bit,
but
still
being
money
left
in
for.
F
I
don't
see
that
there's
going
to
be
an
ability
for
the
legislature
or
the
governor
to
not
fund
education
with
oil,
this
high.
That
said,
some
other
bills
that
are
important.
You
know
bonded.
We.
C
F
We
want
to
support
that
and
drummond's
forward
thinking
of
that
and
not
cause
any
drama
around
it,
so
that
we
can
repropose
our
bond
in
the
future
and.
F
Yeah
I'd
have
to
look
at
the
exact
number.
You
know
they
changed
between
the
houses.
F
The
reading
bill,
111
senator
beggage's
bill,
passed
on
the
floor
today
in
the
senate,
they're
waiting
on
drummond
to
get
it
out
of
the
education
in
the
house,
it'll,
probably
go
to
conference
committee.
That's
our
preschool,
really
funding
that
we're
focusing
on
as
well
as
it
matches
up
with
the
reading
goal
that
asd
already
has.
Yes,
we
supported
the
108
with
you
know:
broadening
opportunities
for
students
to
have
work
experiences
as
bills
do
when
they
become
the
kitchen
sink
and
have
others
add
to
it.
F
F
Mental
health
went
through
on
on
one
side,
so
they're
really
just
moving
the
one
that
you
mentioned.
I
I
honestly
at
this
point.
If
they
haven't
even
had
hearings,
I
think
they're
gonna
die,
that's
just
how
it
works,
but
what
that?
What
they're
setting
up
is
for
next
year?
Okay,
all.
F
Uh-Huh
yeah,
it's
it's
good
to
testify,
but
generally
by
this
time,
if
things
haven't
moved
and
gone
through
committees
that
are
higher
up,
okay,
there's.
C
F
F
We
just
have
to
wait
and
see
what
that
is
and,
as
you
know,
the
the
senate
will
be
a
little
bit
tougher
to
get
through
a
little
bit
more
quickly,
but
and
then
the
governor
as
well
so
but
again,
just
my
32
years
tells
me
there's
not
a
chance
that
they
can
hold
the
money
away
when
they're
breaking
it.
In.
C
So
and
dr
bishop,
what
what
about
sb
140,
you
don't
think
that's
going
to
get
any
traction
this
time
either
because
of
the
timing.
F
No,
I
don't
think
so
either
there's
a
it's
like
a
small
contingency.
I
don't
see
that
they're
going
to
put
that
through,
because
we
already
have
like
they're
creating
a
a
problem
they're
looking
for
problems.
They
have
a
solution
to
a
problem.
They
don't
have,
and
I
I
mean
I
would
just
I
just
can't
imagine,
because
right
now,
even
at
the
state
tournament
for
volleyball,
you
know
a
transgender
girl
participated
for
ketchikan.
F
C
Okay,
I
hope
not
I
so
would
there
would
be
if,
if
they
got
traction,
there
would
be
an
impact
to
asd,
but
I
would
think
since
we,
how
does
that
work
with
assa
they
would
have
to?
C
F
Yeah,
well,
we
didn't
have
to
see
how
the
administrative
regulation
was
drafted
around
it,
okay
and
then,
but
certainly
all
of
us
would
be
held
to
that.
We
I
mean
the
statutory
requirements,
supersede
school
board
policies
or
policy
yeah.
C
But
we
contract
out
to
assa
for
sports,
they
would
have
to
comply
and
then
we
would
so
it's
a
trickle
down.
F
Yeah,
all
of
their
tournaments
would
like.
If
we
wanted
to
participate
in
the
state
tournaments
and
things
like
that
and
competing
with
other
school
districts,
we
would
have
to
comply
with
their
bylaws,
but
we
we
are
on
their.
You
know.
Their
board
is
made
up
of
members
from
different
regions,
so
we
we
help
inform
and
we
have
not
been
in
in
support
of
it.
We've
worked
it
out.
I
mean
my
daughter's
20.
F
Oh
sorry,
I
should
know
she's
24.
and
when
she
was
in
volleyball,
transgender
students
participated.
It's
literally.
F
And
so
they're
creating
this
issue
the
same
one
about
the
one
that
you're
going
to
testify
on
tomorrow.
So
I
just,
I
think
they
want
to
get
it
out
there,
but
I
don't
see
the
timing
of
these
having
an
ability
this
session
to
go
through.
Okay,.
C
And
thank
you
and
then
the
final.
My
final
comment
just
had
to
do
with
the
fact
that
the
bond
did
not
pass
so
at
some
point
in
our
in
our
work,
we'll
we'll
we'll
look
forward
to
having
a
discussion
on
our
next
steps.
A
Okay
and
I'll
just
add
to
that
end,
we
might
ask
our
communications
office
to
draft
a
statement
about
the
bonds,
not
passing
just
so
we're
all
kind
of
looking
at
the
same.
Talking
point
on
that.
I'd
also.
B
Throw
in
I'll
share
that
statement
with
with
katie,
okay,
and
that
way
you
guys
can
have
it.
A
Thank
you,
and
one
more
comment
now
remember
lessons
in
relation
to
what
dr
bishop's
saying,
I
I
think
the
point
of
the
bill
we're
talking
about
probably
has
more
to
do
with
people's
campaigns
than
it.
E
D
Thank
you.
I
just
wanted
to
share
that.
I
have
asked
to
put
an
item
about
a
sort
of
a
bond
debrief
on
the
finance
committee's
upcoming
meeting
and
that'll,
be
after
everything
is
tallied
up,
so
hopefully
that
can
be
one
opportunity
to
debrief
and
then
I'll
just
share.
D
Personally,
I
got
a
message
on
my
phone
not
long
ago
from
a
reporter
who
is
interested
in
board
member
comments
on
the
bond,
so
I
will
personally
hold
off
for
a
little
bit
because
I
don't
think
it's
quite
appropriate
to
do
that
yet,
but
just
just
knowing
that
reporters
are
interested
in
understanding.
C
I
think
they're,
and
that
is
something
we
need
to
talk
about,
which
was
I
was
going
to
bring
up
under
other
because
they
are
being
more
they're,
not
following
our
our
process
number
one
and
then
number,
but
I
think
board
members
are
trying
to
follow
our
process.
I
really
do.
I
think
you
are
waiting,
not
that
you
cannot
speak
but
as
an
individual
citizen,
but
you
are
by
abiding
by
the
process
that
we
have
in
our
bylaws
that
leave
the
board's
position.
C
Statements
to
the
president
so
and-
and
I
haven't
seen
any
controversial-
I
haven't
seen
any
controversy
around
that.
But
if
the
district
has
a
statement,
we
can
refer
people
to
the
statement
and
I
will
continue
as
much
as
I'm
able
last
week
was
co-vid
week.
I
could
not
even
think
to
answer
a
question
last
week.
This
week
is
much
much
better,
so
I
look
forward
to
responding
to
to
those
kinds
of
questions
and
they
I
don't
know
who
half
these
people
are.
C
Who
are
asking
me
for
interviews,
so
I
am
clearing
them
through
comms
through
the
communications
office
and
in
many
cases
I
am
getting.
I'm
issuing
a
statement.
I
am
not
ish,
I'm
not
being
interviewed,
live
or
on
zoom,
so
that
my
two
stats
thank
you
for
the
agreement.
A
Okay,
dr
bishop
has
her
hand
up
which
I
cannot
see
so
yeah.
F
Thank
you,
and
I
would
I
don't
know
if
the
board
wants
to
take
our
recommendation,
but
we
because
of
the
delicateness
of
some
of
the
legislation
around
the
bond
debt,
reimbursement
and
those
bills.
F
They
were
strategically
made
not
to
have
asd's
bonds
in
them
this
year,
because
we
had
apps,
hey
you're,
our
person
retro.
So
we
want
to
be
highly
careful
around,
even
I
would
say
any
discussion
and
let
that
let
that
out
their
legislation
go
through
the
process
because
of
people
who
would
not
be
supportive
of
it
and
that's
bringing
back
the
share
from
the
state.
F
You
know
it
would
behoove
us
greatly
at
that
past,
any
incorporated
area
that
has
authority
for
levy,
but
if
we
bring
too
much
attention
to
ourselves,
yeah
that
will
be
a
critical
error
in
getting
it
passed
with
those
that
are
not
anchorage
friendlies,
because
they're
gonna
see
we'll
suck
up
their
money,
and
so
because
we
already
have
a
bond
on
the
docket,
where
everybody
else
would
have
to
start.
So
we
want
them
to
make
it
if
it
passes
the
next
bond
season,
which
we
could
join,
which
is
technically
november.
F
You
know
so.
Member
lessons
to
have
a
large
discussion
of
strategy,
and
things
like
that,
I
think,
laying
low
for
a
while
might
help
us
in
the
long
run,
to
get
the
bonds
that
you
would
like
it's
a
political
move,
yeah.
Okay,
thank
you,
but
I'm
recommending
just
because
of
being
around
the
blockwell
and
knowing
the
players
out
there
who
see
anchorage
as
we're
just
large.
So
they
just
they
don't
see
it
as
fair,
but
okay,
so
maybe.
D
G
What's
that
well
mg-
and
I
have
talked
a
little
bit
about
this-
he
brought
it
up
to
me
before,
but
our
practice
right
now
is
committee
committees.
Our
meetings
are
recorded
and
then
they're
kept
on
file,
but
they're,
not
posted.
So
anytime.
Somebody
wants
to
request
a
copy
they're
generally
now
that
we're
doing
zoom
two
large
emails,
so
I
put
them
on
a
thumb
drive.
They
have
to
come
pick
them
up.
I
did
reach
out
to
the
municipality.
G
They
do
not
take
any
minutes
for
their
committee
meetings.
They
only
post
the
recordings,
and
that
is
their
official
record
of
their
committee
meetings
and
on.
G
Yes
yeah,
so
we
would
be
in
alignment
with
the
uni.
If
we
do,
you
know
not
live
stream.
The
committee
meetings
but
posted
the
recordings
as
a
record
and
then
mj
was
going
to
tie
that
into
some
social
media
yeah.
B
So
we
so
part
of
the,
as
I
mentioned
earlier,
about
exploring
what
we're
doing
with
youtube
and
strategy
and
stuff
wanted
to
start
to
push
or
try
to
get
more
community
engagement
with
the
school
board
meetings
and
push
that
out
on
social,
so
people
can
basically
mark
the
calendar
and
then,
if
they,
since
they're
recorded,
then
after
the
meeting
do
a
post
of
basically
you
know
in
case
you
missed
it.
But
looking
at
what
we
have
on
our
youtube
page,
I
think
we
should
put
our
committee
meetings
sort
of
on
there.
B
So
we
have
one
resource
for
the
public
to
go
to
and
that
way
it
eliminates
a
staffing
component.
You
know
with
that,
but
I
just
see
it
as
it
checks
the
box
for
transparency.
It
works
with
trying
to
get
our
community
to
engage
more
with
our
meetings
and
then
for
record-keeping
purposes.
You
have
a
spot,
I.e
youtube
where
all
your
meetings
can
sit.
So
just
it's
just
an
idea
that
we
were
just
looking
at,
but
it
really
started
from
looking
at
what
we're
doing
on
youtube.
B
And
how
can
we
push
that
content
out
and
and
and
have
our
community
more
engaged
with
our
process?.
C
Yes,
sir,
thank
you.
I
think
it's
a
a
idea,
that's
long
overdue.
I
think.
Not
only
will
it
save
time,
it
will
reach
a
whole
reach
more
people,
at
least
that's
that's.
My
two
cents.
A
Okay,
any
other
comments,
questions,
okay,
seeing
none
is
there
any
new
business
to
come
before
the
committee.
A
Oh
well,
I
think
that
would
be
a
vote
for
the
board.
Well,
to
be
honest,
it
seems
like
it's
administrative.
F
No,
I
think
well,
we've
made
changes
before
the
issue
has
come
up
at
the
board
meeting.
C
A
Yeah,
okay,.
A
Right,
I
think
what
we
could
ask
at
the
board
meeting
is
just
a
brief
explanation
and
see
if
there's
any
objection.
A
A
E
Yeah.
Thank
you,
mr
chair,
just
a
question
for
katie.
Before
I
make
a
comment,
if
I
could,
how
often
are
folks
requesting
I
mean,
how
often
are
we
giving
out
thumb
drives
with
committee
meeting
recordings.
G
E
That's
helpful
and
then,
mr
chair,
I
just
my
perspective,
is
I
thought
we
were
already
doing
this
and
so
a
couple
months
ago
I
went
back
looking
for
a
committee
recording
and
realized
we
weren't,
so
it
was
on
my
list
to
address,
but
just
haven't
gotten
to
it
yet
so
I
support
this.
I
think
it
makes
sense,
and
I
also
think
it
would
be
much
better
to
have
the
recording
than
to
try
and
capture
minutes,
especially
when
our
committees
operate
with
much
less
formal
robert
rules
of
order,
yeah
just
it
makes
too
much
sense.
A
B
A
I
did
it
to
my
son
a
long
time
ago,
any
other
questions
or
comments
on
this.
