A
B
Welcome
to
the
Anne
Arundel
County
Public
Schools,
digest
bringing
you
news
about.
The
people
and
programs
of
Anne
Arundel
County
Public
Schools
spring
brings
awards
season,
and
this
episode
is
packed
with
plenty
examples
of
a
ACPs
awesome,
South
River,
High,
School
sophomore
James
Abington
and
Severna
Park
High
School
senior
William
Snyder
shared
the
grand
award
at
the
50th
annual
Anne
Arundel
County,
Regional
Science
and
Engineering
Fair.
Amid
an
impressive
group
of
the
county's
best
young
and
inventive
minds.
Scientific
talent
abounded
at
every
level
of
the
competition
science.
C
D
Important
because
intellectual
struggle
and
success
it's
part
of
what
we
strive
for
in
Anne,
Arundel,
County,
Public
Schools,
and
these
students
they
happen
to
have
their
passion
in
an
area
of
science,
technology,
engineering
and
math
and
we're
proud
of
them.
But
every
year
to
see
such
passion
and
engagement
is
exciting
for
us
and
it's
a
big
deal
for
the
system
and
it's
certainly
an
amazing
opportunity
for
students
and
it's.
B
F
Was
amazing
to
come
here
is
my
first
time
competing
in
the
science.
Fair
is
a
great
environment.
There
is
a
lot
of
great
work
going
on
here
and
it's
a
great
community,
so
it
was
a
great
introduction
into
being
able
to
present
and
be
in
this
field
and
I'm
excited
going
forward
and
for
going
to
the
Intel
National
Science
Fair.
A
B
G
Great
I
mean
you
know,
you
started,
you
started
in
school
and
you
do
your
school
fair
and
that's
always
a
lot
of
fun
and
I.
Think
that
the
entire
County
Fair
is
awesome
and
going
back
to
Islip
will
be
really
a
treat
so
I'm
excited
for
Los,
Angeles
and
I.
Think
it's
just
a
really
fun
experience.
Overall,
all.
B

I

B
K
Support
the
school
system
here
in
Anne,
Arundel
County,
our
teachers,
I
mean
they
are
they're,
the
heart
of
it
all,
and
our
students,
of
course,
are
tomorrow's
employer
employees,
and
so
we
need
to
know
that
they're
getting
a
really
good
foundation.
So
we
support
education
in
in
the
communities
in
all
of
the
counties
that
we
serve
Carol.
B
Will
now
represent
County
public
school
teachers
at
the
school
systems,
nominee
for
Maryland
Teacher
of
the
Year
to
be
announced.
This
fall
twenty
eighth
12th
grade
students
from
several
County
high
schools,
public
and
private,
were
recently
recognized
for
their
hard
work
through
the
highly
regarded
scholarships
for
Scholars
Program
they're.
L
Just
amazing
in
a
variety
of
fields:
English,
creative
writing,
world
languages,
technology,
salons,
mathematics,
service,
nursing,
visual
arts
performing
arts.
It's
really
quite
amazing,
and
we
should
be
very
grateful
that
the
young
students
for
giving
their
time
and
energy
to
really
rise
to
such
a
position
of
leadership,
because
this
is
our
future.
These
are
the
kids
were
going
to
depend
on
giving.
B
H
A
wonderful
tribute
to
the
work
that
scholarship
for
scholars
does
on
behalf
of
the
students,
but
even
more
so
it's
really
cool
about
tonight
is
it's
it's
about
the
kids
and
when
you
read
through
the
program
and
you
learn
about
the
things
that
they've
done
their
accomplishments,
it
really
is
no
surprise
when
they
are
deserving
of
scholarships.
So
it's
an
exciting
night
we're
delighted
to
be
part
of
it.
Every
year,
more.
B
Than
120

nearly
200
County
middle
and
high
school
students
were
recently
celebrated
at
the
Anne
Arundel
County
Regional
History
Day
competition
and
awards
ceremony
focused
on
the
theme.
Take
a
stand.
The
students
shared
their
historical
knowledge
and
perspectives
in
various
categories
and
expressions
such
as
visual
exhibits,
performances,
websites,
documentaries
and
papers.
M
Actually
are
encouraged
to
explore.
Any
topic
in
history
can
be
US,
history
can
be
world
history
and
students
are
actually
encouraged
to
do.
Primary
research
gain
interviews,
interview,
expert
witnesses
and
from
that
primary
surgery,
primary
source
research,
the
kids
actually
generate
a
project
in
one
of
the
five
categories.
More.

P
Run
our
Givaudan
down
their
programs
at
our
school
and
I've
created
a
committee
that
kind
of
helps
support
that
so
there's
lots
of
people
behind
me.
Even
though
I'm
you
know
getting
this,
but
that's
above
and
beyond,
really
kinda
what
we're
doing,
because
we
have
a
great
population
of
kids
that
really
fit
the
mold
and
really
need
a
lot
of
that
enrichment
that
we
provide
boys.
Q
And
girls
come
in
every
day
and
they're
ready
to
learn,
and
we
want
to
keep
them
excited
for
that.
We
want
to
get
them
this
year.
We're
really
thinking
about
the
magic
of
wonder
and
how
important
it
is
to
wonder
about
things
and
to
research
things
and
to
investigate
and
we're
using
our
inquiry
based
instruction
to
make
all
of
our
instruction
really
exciting
for
kids,
the
schools.
B
Were
recognized
at
a
special
state
event
and
receive
citations
from
the
governor
and
MSDE
banners
and
plaques
and
presence
on
the
MSDE
website,
with
egay
designation
all
to
proudly
display
the
talents
of
the
students
and
diligence
of
the
teachers.
It
is
a
school
system
tradition
that
spans
decades
to
some
of
the
county's
most
talented
artists
to
have
their
work
showcased
in
large
public
venues.
Our.
R
Students
that
begin
participating
in
art
in
as
early
as
pre-k
for
those
school
to
host
a
pre-k
site
and
it
they
travel
through
all
their
grade
levels
having
experiences
with
art
through
12th
grade.
They
have
opportunities
to
work
on
several
different
projects
throughout
the
year.
There
are
teachers,
offer
them
different
mediums
to
select
from,
and
it
really
is
an
opportunity
for
our
students
to
express
their
voice
through
their
artwork.
That.
B
S
Is
important
because
for
me
you
don't
have
to
be
good
at
art
to
express
yourself.
Some
people
might
feel
pressure
to
be
really
good
at
it,
for
you
have
to
be
like
oh
I've,
just
found
good
in
an
instrument
like
you,
like
people
want
to
listen
to
me,
but
are
like
you
can
express
yourself
through
art
and
whether
or
not
it's
stick
figures
or
blogs
of
color
like
great
pieces
like
you
want,
like
the
ones
you
see
behind
me.
It
really
just
helps
people
to
express
themselves
with
show
who
they
are.
The.
B
Exhibit
has
not
only
become
a
display
of
student
works,
but
an
example
of
community
partnerships
come
on,
please
winning
the
volunteer
of
the
Year
award
for
his
bringing
invaluable
work,
life
and
learning
experiences
to
students
at
several
County
high
schools.
Bruce
Morgenstern
was
one
of
many
shining
stars
celebrated
at
this
year's
volunteer
recognition
team
hosted
by
the
office
of
school
and
Family
Partnership.
He.
T
Has
been
an
amazing
partner,
helping
schools
grow
their
signatures
resources
and
supporting
the
schools
in
so
many
ways:
Bruce
Morgenstern.
It
is
quite
an
honor
to
have
the
opportunity
to
recognize
all
your
hard
work
and
support
of
our
students.
I
am
pleased
to
present
you
with
this
certificate
for
claiming
you
as
the
Anne
Arundel
County
Public
Schools
volunteer
of
the
year.
The.
B
U
All
know
what
it
is
to
volunteer
and
we
know
firsthand
everything
that
you
bring
to
the
schools
each
day
that
we
could
not
be
doing
and
we
would
not
be
as
successful
as
we
are
without
all
those
thousands
and
thousands
of
hours
that
you
bring
every
day
so
I.
Thank
you
as
a
parent
for
what
you
bring
to
my
children.
Schools
I
think
he
was
a
board
member
for
what
you
add
and
please
keep
doing
what
you're
doing.
B
V
Started
with
a
much
smaller
group
with
students
that
we
have
now
about
six,
maybe
seven
students,
and
now
we
have
13
students
and
used
to
be
only
focused
on
homework.
But
now
we
have
brought
in
our
objectives,
and
now
we
do
science,
we
do
art,
you
do
music
to
really
enrich
the
kids
and
get
them
interested
into
other
things.
A
year.
B
W
Amazing,
because
when
I
was
little,
I'm
Hispanic
and
my
mom's
doesn't
speak
English,
so
when
I
came
from
school,
I
would
not
have
somebody
to
help
me
with
my
homework
and
so
I
think
that
that's
why
I
got
liked
into
this
program
a
little
bit
more
because
I'm
connected
with
it.
It
was
something
that
I
had
experienced
and
I
wanted
these
kids
to
have
a
little
bit
of
help,
because
a
little
bit
of
help
goes
a
long
ways
and.
V
Y
In
my
homework,
the
parents
are
definitely
appreciative.
All
the
moms
from
our
mother's
support
group
wanted
to
enroll
their
kids
in
another
year
of
that,
so
they
really
see
the
value
in
it
and
the
kids
enjoy
coming
to
be
with
the
tutors
once
a
week.
It
provides
them
another
mentor
or
role
model
for
what
they
can
achieve
to
be
when
they
get
older
thought.

Just
a
great
way
for
students
to
engage
in
learning
more
so
than
you
know
that
the
traditional
way
that
we
do
it
just
it's
a
new
way
for
students
to
really
learn
the
same
things.
We've
been
learning
for
a
very
long
time,
but
they're
just
engaged
and
they
can
collaborate
and
be
in
the
learning
at
all
times.
Culinary.
AD
To
thank
BWI
rotary
for
this
fabulous
gift
to
our
students.
You
saw
the
excitement
with
our
boys
and
girls
and
having
a
digital
classroom.
One
on
one
is
amazing
and
we
wouldn't
have
been
able
to
do
it
without
our
community,
recognizing
our
need
and
stepping
up
to
the
plate.
So
a
great
big

Event
targeted
recent
and
future
graduates
and
individuals.
Looking
for
a
career
in
the
skilled
trades,
dozens
of
organizations
from
a
variety
of
career
and
skilled
trades
and
training
organizations
were
represented
in
its
inaugural
year.
The
newcomer
Center
at
Annapolis
High
School,
is
off
to
a
meaningful
start.
The.
AF
Students
that
we
have
today
with
us
are
our
evening
high
school
students.
They
are
part
of
a
program
called
our
newcomers
program
which
tries
to
make
modifications
for
newcomers
to
the
to
the
country
and
when
I
say
newcomers
I'm
saying
under
a
year
here
they
have
very
few
language
skills.
So
in
my
program,
the
culinary
program,
what
we
try
to
do
is
teach
them
some
skills
number
one.
Although
the
beauty
of
our
South
American
friends,
is
they
usually
come
in
at
Central
American?
B
Program
involves
ëall
students,
ages,
17
and
older,
who
are
just
beginning
English
language
learning.
The
focus
is
small
group
intensive
English
instructions,
while
earning
credits
toward
graduation
in
a
more
intimate
environment,
but
there
is
also
room
for
creative
instruction,
such
as
making
a
culinary
connection
a
year.
AF

Are
here
from
rural
high

to
give
a
word
of
advice
to
the
elementary
school
kids
that
are
going
to
pioneer
elementary
school,
the
school
that
we
also
came
to?
We've
all
grown
up,
and
now
we're
going
off
to
college
and
starting
the
next
chapter
in
our
life.
So
we
just
want
to
give
back
to
the
little
kids
that
are
coming
up
through
elementary
school
there
in
our
community.
We.
