B
I'm
mini-comic
and
welcome
to
the
Anne
Arundel
County
Public
Schools,
digest
bringing
you
news
about
the
people
and
programs
of
Anne
Arundel
County
Public
Schools.
What
we've
known
all
along
was
recently
confirmed
by
the
US
Department
of
Education
lakeshore
and
70
Park
Elementary
School's,
our
national
Blue
Ribbon
Schools
known
for
high
achievement
and
stellar
parent
involvement.
There
seems
to
be
one
key
element
to
earning
the
distinction:
diligence.
It
is.
C
D
Work
really
hard
to
do
well,
we
also
really
believe
in
reaching
to
teach
and
teaching
to
reach,
so
we
really
believe
in
meeting
every
student's
needs
making
sure
all
of
our
kids
needs
are
met,
not
only
the
students
who
struggle,
but
also
the
ones
who
need
extension,
and
we
work
really
hard
at
that.
Both
schools.

Buildings
don't
make
schools
communities
do,
and
but
this
is
a
community
that
has
given
and
given
wonderful
parents,
great
kids,
a
fabulous
administrative
team
and
teachers
that
just
care
and
love
about
their
kids.
But
when
you
can
add
to
that
in
the
community
a
brand
new
building
like
this,
with
all
the
accouterments,
with
all
the
bells
and
whistles.
It
really
is
said.
It
just
adds
to
the
great
work
they're
doing
now
and
think
about
the
endless
possibilities
that
at
and
how
awesome
a
CPS
is
and
can
be.
No.

Is
really
part
of
something
else,
that's
greater
than
all
of
us
in
getting
back
to
the
community.
I
think
this
is
one
of
those
lessons
that
it's
important
for
our
students
to
learn.
That's
outside
the
classroom,
we're
making
connections
to
the
greater
world
around
them.
There
is
absolutely
a
need
in
Anne
Arundel
County,
for
this
food
bank
to
be
successful
for
the
needs
of
our
community
and
I'm
delighted
that
our
school
system
continues
to
contribute
to
that.
This.

2015
chesapeake
up
big.
I
Increase
this
year
up
to
14,000
people,
it's
it's
really
important
to
prevent
the
Summer
Slide,
which
of
course,
is
a
big
problem.
You
know
kids
go
through
school,
you
know
get
out
in
May
or
June
and
then
over
the
summer,
if
they're
not
reading,
it's
proven
that
they
come
back
in
at
the
fall
at
a
place
really
not
quite
where
they
were
at
the
end
of
the
previous
school
year.
So
you
haven't
to
do
kind
of
pick
me
up
and
remediation,
so
the
Summer,
Reading,
Club
and
program
is
really
important
to
preventing
that
summer
slide.
I
J
School
librarian,
miss
Kate,
even
Trudeau,
really
put
forth
a
great
effort
to
encourage
students
to
read
throughout
the
summer,
and
we
had
a
very
large
surge
in
participation
this
year,
which
was
very
exciting,
so
they
really
teacher
mr.
out
and
the
librarian
both
really
promote,
reading
and
encourage
it
throughout
the
year,
especially
in
the
summer.
This.
B
Is
the
19th
year
that
the
library
system
has
aborted
the
chesapeake
up
through
last
summer's
theme?
Every
hero
has
a
story.
More
than
17,000
individuals
showed
their
love
and
appreciation
for
reading
throughout
the
county.
Hundreds
of
members
of
the
business
community
recently
gathered
to
learn
about
the
many
successful
programs
occurring
in
county
public
schools
and
to
find
out
how
to
be
more
involved
with
students
at
the
annual
business
leadership
breakfast
with
the
superintendent
event.

Have
this
incredible
school
system
that
have
these
dedicated
folks
that
care
about
and
love
the
students
we
teach
every
day
we've
got
awesome
students
awesome
students
that
are
just
what
they're
able
to
accomplish
day
in
and
day
out,
never
ceases
to.
Amaze
me:
we've
got
parents
that
are
dedicated
and
we've
got
a
community
that
cares
about
the
growth
of
our
80,000
plus
students.
