A
Hello
families,
welcome
to
our
community,
a
program
about
the
school
system
for
the
Hispanic
community,.
This
is
Angela
Namiar
speaking
and
I
will
be
replacing
Diana
Rivera
in
this
episode.
Diana
sends
a
cordial
greeting
and
I
hope
to
see
you
again
very
soon
at
below.
We
will
share
information
about
what
is
happening
in
our
schools
and
in
our
community.
A
The
superintendent
of
schools,
doctor
mark
bedel,
invites
parents,
guardians
members
of
the
community,
business
leaders
and
school
alumni
to
have
a
greater
presence
in
schools
to
improve
relations
with
the
community
at
large
and
help
make
school
operations
safer
and
more
efficient.
Dr.
Bethel
pointed
to
the
increase
in
serious
crime
and
the
position
of
guns
as
evidence
of
the
need
for
more
involvement
Need
to
work
collaboratively
as
schools
cannot
do
it
alone.
The
community
has
a
role,
l
Of
course
playing
in
safety
from
awareness
to
support.
A
Let
's
remember
this
old
proverb:
it
takes
a
village
to
raise
a
child.
That
is
why
the
be
present
initiative
was
created
which
allows
students
to
feel
more
secure
and
supported
not
only
by
their
administrators
but
also
by
members
of
the
community
who
can
strengthen
their
connection
with
the
schools.
The
specific
protocols
to
carry
out
this
initiative
They
are
still
being
finalized.
A
We
will
be
sending
more
information
in
the
near
future
attendance
at
school,
of
utmost
importance
not
only
for
our
school
system,
but
for
you,
your
student
and
your
family,
All
children
between
the
ages
of
5
and
18
must
attend
public
school
regularly
unless
the
student
has
approved
instruction
and
your
address.
If
your
student
does
not
attend
schools,
you
You
could
be
guilty
of
a
misdemeanor
or
subject
to
a
fine
of
up
to
$50.
It
is
for
the
day
or
to
prison
for
up
to
10
days.
What.
Can
we
do
to
help
our
children?
A
Not
miss
school?
Have
a
daily
routine
to
go
to
bed.
Early
students
need
to
be
well
rested
to
learn
well,
pack,
the
backpack
and
pack
lunch
and
clothes
your
student
the
day
before
have
a
plan
b
in
case.
You
cannot
take
your
child
to
school.
Think
of
a
neighbor
or
family
member
who
can
help
you
try
to
schedule
medical
appointments
outside
of
school
hours?
Let's
not
forget
that
truancy
is
a
sign
of
that.
The
student
is
losing
their
way
and
needs
help.
A
Each
year
march
is
designated
women's
history
month.
The
month
is
reserved
to
honor
the
contributions
of
women
in
united
states
history.
Women's
history
month
began
as
a
local
celebration
in
Santa
Rosa
California
was
initially
held
for
a
week
and
the
week
of
March
8
was
selected
to
coincide
with
International
Day
ernational
women's
movement
spread
across
the
country
when
other
communities
began
their
own
celebrations.
A
The
following
year
in
February,
1980
President,
Jimmy
Carter
declared
the
week
of
March
8
National
Women's
History
week,
but
it
was
only
in
1987
when
the
congress
extended
this
celebration
for
a
month.
So,
congratulations
to
those
who
make
each
day
a
better
day
as
the
Guatemalan
indigenous
leader
and
activist
Rigoberta
menchĂș
reminds
us,.
A
woman
with
imagination
is
a
woman
who
not
only
knows
how
to
project
life
of
a
family
and
of
a
society,
but
also
the
future
of
a
ruined
millennium.
A
Cross
America
or,
let's
read
across
America,
is
celebrated
on
March
2
across
the
country,
teachers,
teens,
librarians
politicians,
actors,
athletes,
parents,
grandparents
and
many
more
developed
reading
activities
to
create
excites
children
of
all
ages.
Let's
Read,
Across
America
is
the
world's
largest
celebration
of
reading
country.
This
celebration
focuses
on
motivating
children
and
adolescents
to
read
in
different
events
and
to
use
different
reading
resources
that
allow
them
to
see
themselves
reflected
as
well
as
see
a
world
or
a
character
that
could
be
different
from
them.
A
Let's
make
our
community
the
place
where
we
read
across
America,
be
on
everyone's
calendar
on
Thursday,
March,
2
and
Friday,
March
3.
We
will
have
parent-teacher
conferences
on
Thursday,
students
will
arrive
at
school
two
hours
late
and
on
Friday
they
will
leave
two
hours
early
to
be
able
to
conferences.
A
Parent-Teacher
conferences
are
invaluable
time
for
both
parents
and
teachers.
Parents
receive
scheduled,,
uninterrupted
time
with
teachers
to
discuss
their
child's
strengths
and
weaknesses.
Teachers
can
propose
specific,,
focused
action,
steps
that
will
involve
parents
in
their
children's
education.
Communication
is
key
e
and
developing
a
partnership
with
your
student's
teacher
is
beneficial
to
all
involved.
Students
are
very
aware
of
communication
between
teachers
and
parents
or
guardians,
and
a
positive
relationship
between
the
two
is
encouraging
to
them.
Let's
remember
this
phrase,
my
school.
A
It
is
my
second
home,
but
my
home
is
my
first
school
on
monday
march
12.
We
must
advance
our
clocks
one
hour
with
respect
to
standard
time
as
part
of
the
daylight
stadingstein
that
takes
place
regularly
in
various
parts
of
the
world.
This
time
change
takes
effect
at
2
a.m.
and
back
to
normal.
In
the
fall
every
year
in
March
we
celebrate
National
Nutrition
Month.
This
year's
theme
is
to
eat
well
and
it's
not
about
cutting
calories
or
losing
weight.
It's
about
to
give
your
body
the
nutrients
it
needs.
A
National,
Nutrition
Month
is
a
great
time
to
create
new
habits
and
Keep
in
mind
that
good
nutrition
and
physical
development
greatly
contribute
to
our
students'
academic
success,
Try
to
replace
fatty
foods
like
fast
food
with
vegetables,
Fruits
and
whole
grains,
Choose,
non-fat
or
Low-fat
dairy
products
and
opt
for
fish,
Chicken
beans,
nuts
and
vegetable
oils.
Instead
of
eating
foods
that
are
high
in
fat
or
sugar,
try
to
eliminate
drinks
and
foods
that
contain
added
sugars
such
as
sodas
and
sports
or
energy
drinks.
Optimal
nutrition
is
tomorrow's
medicine.
A
Many
people
Think
about
food
of
sea
when
talking
about
Maryland
But.
The
truth
is
that
our
state
has
a
great
history
with
surprising
details.
The
State
Board
of
Education
chose
a
day
of
the
school
year
to
recognize
the
history
of
Maryland
that
began
in
1903
and
designated
March
25
as
Maryland
Day,
which
is
currently
celebrated
as
a
day
of
learning,
fun
and
discovery
with
exploration
based
events
and
activities
celebrate.
A
Maryland
home
sweet
home
on
March
29,
don't
forget
to
wear
orange,
to
show
your
support
for
kindness,
acceptance
and
inclusion
during
the
Unity
Day
celebration
on
this
day,
students
will
be
dismissed
two
hours
early,
March,
30
and
31
mark
the
end
of
the
Third
grading
period.
Similarly,
on
these
two
days,
students
will
be
dismissed
two
hours
early
on
the
March
equinox,
which
occurs
when
the
sun's
rays
fall
directly
on
the
equator
line
and
the
duration
of
the
day
and
night
is
practically
the
same.
In
all
places
on
earth.
