Description
Diana proporciona información importante para la Comunidad Hispana de AACPS.
A
Hello,
welcome
to
our
community
an
information
program
about
the
school
system
for
the
hispanic
community.
Speaking
to
you,
diana
ribera
in
our
community,
I
will
announce
the
current
and
upcoming
events
that
we
will
have
in
the
public
schools
of
anar,
ander,
county
and
I
encourage
you
to
participate
in
these
activities.
If
you
have
any
questions
about
this
information,
you
can
contact
the
bilingual
family
and
community
relations
facilitator
at
your
child's
school.
A
We
know
that
monitoring
the
performance
of
your
student
is
easier
when
they
are
in
elementary
school
than
when
they
go
to
middle
or
high
school,
because
when
the
boys
get
older,
some
tend
to
be
more
disorganized
and
forgetful.
That
is
why
our
system
has
implemented
the
tool
of
the
portal
for
p
Parents.
If
you
did
not
attend
last
month's
parent
portal
session
at
norton
school-
and
you
still
do
not
have
this
account,
then
it
is
time
to
call
your
bilingual
family
and
community
relations
facilitator
and
ask
for
help.
A
As
always,
I
suggest
you
be
aware
of
the
your
child's
performance
and
continue
to
discuss
their
report
card
results.
If
you
think
your
child
needs
to
improve,
ask
him
or
her
what
is
keeping
him
or
her
from
performing
well
in
school.
Talk
to
your

or

As
the
case
may
be,
many
of
our
middle
schools
offer
the
services
of
office
hours
twice
a
week.
These
office
hours
are
helpful
for
students
who
want
to
improve
or
recover
in
some
of
their
basic
classes.
A
A
Meaningful,
two-way
communication
between
families
and
school
is
crucial
for
student
success.
I'll
explain
how
to
stay
informed,

A
Don't
take
it
personally,
unlike
your
elementary
student,
who
might
be
excited
for
you
to
come
on
the
field
trip,
it's
normal
for
middle
and
high
school
students
to
discourage
their
parents
from
not
go
to
school,
but
parental
involvement
is
important
to
your
teen's
academic.
Success
studies
show
that
parental
involvement
is
linked
to
performance
in
the
upper
grades,
just
as
it
is
in
elementary
school.
Your
student
is
likely
to
move
from
learning
in
a
self-contained
classroom
with
a
peer
group
and
one
teacher
to
an
environment
with
more
teachers,
many
more
students,
and
higher
expectations
for
achievement.
A
Plus
your
child
is
going
through
the
physical
changes
that
make
adolescence
an
exciting
time
and
puzzling.
He
or
she
needs
your
support
at
home
and
at
school
below.
I
will
show
you
how
can
help
you
information
about
school
policies
and
curriculum?
Usually,
schools
send
home
the
student
handbook
at
the
beginning
of
the
school
year.
A
Usually,
schools
send
home
for
students
at
the
beginning
of
the
school
year.
There
can
often
be
older,
take
risks
with
older
children
who
might
be
taking
risks
and
defying
authority
understand
what
schools
do
and
don't
allow
from
dress
codes
to
absences
also
keep
in
mind
that
curriculum
requirements
count
a
lot
when
enrolling
in
college
high
school
and
college
respectively,
it's
essential
to
stay
on
track.
A
So
there
are
no
surprises
once
you're
preparing
to
graduate
from
middle
or
high
school,
make
sure
you're
subscribed
to
the
school's
email
newsletter
or
join
a
parent-to-parent
network
believe
that
other
parents
know
what's
going
on,
and
you
couldn't
have
an
explanation:
simple
tion.
You
are
not
subscribed
to
the
school
newsletter
that
informs
you
about
important
meetings,
activities,
requirements
and
more.
If
you
are
not
subscribed,
ask
at
the
school
office
or
register
at
the
pt,
ao
pt
or
from
the
school,
some
schools
also
have
parent
to
parent
networks.
A
Again,
you
can
join
one
by
talking
to
the
pp
or
pp
representative,
or
keeping
up
with
college
admission
requirements
can
help.
You
help
your
child
understand
the
long-term
effects
of
their
choices.
Sometimes
a
casual
conversation
in
the
car
or
during
a
late-night
snack
will
help
your
child
feel
more
comfortable
with
opening
up
than
a
questioning
right
after
you
just
got
home
from
a
hard
day
to
avoid
dead
ends
in
conversation.
Avoid
asking
questions
that
get
you
yes
answers
or
not.
What
is
for
the
best,
the
worst
that
happened
today
at
school?
A
They
are
good
starters,
listen
to
their
concerns
and
work
on
it.
Make
changes
when
you
think
they
are
needed,
Support.
What
you
think
is
good
about
the
school
and
its
rules.
But.
Remember
that
you
can
play
a
key
role
in
changing
school
practices
that
you
think
are
wrong.
Know
several
of
your
teachers,
They
may
be
the
source
of
a
lot
of
information
about
how
your
child
is
doing,
especially
since
middle
school
and
high
school
students
are
not
as
forthcoming
about
problems
at
school.
Most
teachers
provide
an
email
address
and
give
time
to
meet
with
you.
A
A
]
collaboration
pass
on
a
message
of
the
foundation
for
a
better
life
and
parents.
Our
former
county
public
schools
is
n,
developing
multiple
events
and
activities
to
involve
parents
in
the
education
of
children.
Remember
that
the
success
of
students
is
in
a
good
relationship
between
families
and
schools.
Unfortunately,
we
found
low
participation
due
to
conflicts
with
work.
Many
of
you
have
two
or
three
jobs
that
prevent
you
from
sharing
time
with
your
children
and
keeping
up
with
their
performance
at
school.
Your
child
needs
you.
You
are
one
of
the
most
important
people
in
their
life.
A
Children
need
parents,
not
just
a
man
or
a
woman
that
provides
them
with
the
essentials
to
survive
such
as
school
clothes,,
shoes,,
food,,
etc.
In
other
words,,
not
everything,
is
work..
It
is
thought
that
spending
more
time
at
work
daily
could
bring
great
benefits
to
professional
and
personal
life,,
but
the
reality
is
that
this
over
time
it
can
be
counterproductive.
A
According
to
experts
in
human
resources,
issues,
With
overwork,
stress
and
tiredness
quickly
appear
as
the
first
health
problems,,
in
addition
to
family
estrangement
from
the
partner
and
children
and
friends,
and
the
people
most
affected
by
oneself,
entities
such
as
the
International
Labor
Organization
and
the
world
health
organization
have
expressed
their
concern
about
the
increase
in
work
stress
after
studies.
It
is
estimated
that
more
than
30
percent
of
the
world
population
suffers
from
this
disease.
Even
in
developed
countries
the
figure
reaches
higher
levels.
A
The
internet,
television
and
videogames
will
not
give
them
what
only
you
can
give
them.
The
worst
mistake
you
can
make
is
to
say
that
you
do
not
have
time,
because,
although
it
is
true
that
you
spend
hours
at
work,
there
are
always
minutes
a
day
to
be
with
them.
When
you
spend
time
with
them,
you
have
the
opportunity
to
instill
moral
values,
and
principles
that
are
often
distorted
by
television
s,
video
games
or
social
networks.
A
Some
ideas
to
combine
work
time
with
the
time
you
dedicate
to
your
children
first
take
care
of
your
health,
not
having
breakfast,
not
sleeping
well
and
coming
home.
Only
to
watch
television
takes
away
a
quality
moment
with
the
children.
Ideally,
is
that
you
have
the
best
energy
to
be
with
the
family,
eat
well,
exercise
and
sleep
to
the
fullest,
and
that
will
help
you
be
the
best
dad
and
at
the
same
time
you
will
perform
better
at
work.
A
Quality
time
for
the
children
being
with
the
children
is
not
to
argue
in
front
of
them
is
to
support
them,
teach,
them,,
educate
them
and
explain
to
them.
The
reason
for
things,
try
to
express
your
affection
with
hugs
and
words,.
Your
attention
and
affection
will
give
you
the
best
vitamins
for
good
development
and
growth,
do
not
spend
more
hours
at
work,,
try
to
arrive
on
time
to
their
work
and
leave
on
time.
Just
at
the
time
of
departure,
experts
say
that
people
who
spend
more
time
at
work
have
family
ties
s
weakest,
avoid
debt.
A
It
seems
like
this
has
nothing
to
do
with
it,
but
if
you
think
about
it,
having
debt
makes
you
work,
overtime,
worry
more
and
take
away.
Your
concentration
when
you
are
with
your
kids,

will

A
It
is
important
that
our
community
knows
where
to
go
depending
on
the
situation,
to
know
which
organization
can
help
and
how
the

of

as
those
provided

are

A
This
group
was
taken
from
a
similar
group
that
started
over
a
decade
ago
at
the
mus
elementary
school
e
parole
under
the
direction
and
choreography
of
diana

in
years.
Past
was
a
group
exclusively
for
Hispanic
girls,
but
other
girls
from
the
school
wanted
to
join
the
group
and
the
school
decided
that,
like
any
art,
dance,
is
a
vehicle
to
learn
more
about
their
culture
and
create
new
friendships.
The
decision
was
made
to
open
the
group
to
all
the
girls
in
the
school
and
it
has
been
a
success.
A
The
girls
practice
every
week
after
school
for
an
hour
and
since
its
inception,
the
group
has
been
led
by
a
wonderful
young
woman,

and
the

of
this

is
the

Here
they
are

This
is
the
second

that
the

will
be
part
of
the
soul.

at

for
this
beautiful
event.
A
We
are
a
few
hours
a
week
away
from
ending
the
year
2019
and
with
it
the
short
v
winter
holidays.
So
students
will
not
have
classes
from
Monday
December
23
to
Thursday
January
2,
2020.
The
Christmas
season
is
already
here,
but,
unfortunately,
being
an
adult
has
expensive
prices
to
pay,
and
one
of
them
is
being
able
to
lose
any
emotion
related
to
traditional
events
and
holidays
such
as
Christmas.
A
You,
also
think
about
what
goals
you
reached
during
this
year
and
always
remember
to
be
grateful
for
those
achievements
and
celebrate
them
to
the
fullest,
with
your
loved
ones,,
always
look
for
the
opportunity
to
feel
good
about
yourself
and
enjoy
what
you
are
living
now
plan
in
advance.
The
activities
you
could
do
with
your
children
make
a
list
of
the
places
you
like
I
would
know,
prepare
the
typical
Christmas
recipes
and
share
as
much
as
possible,
with
family
and
friends
as
soon
as
possible.
