D
D
D
And
erin
miles,
thank
you
very
much
for
being
here
and
creating
the
space
for
the
hrca
in
your
life
and
bringing
the
service
to
asheville
and
the
way
that
you
do,
which
is
amazing.
Thank
you
very
much
to
help
our
audience
follow
along
I'll
state.
Each
section
of
the
agenda
aloud
welcome
councilwoman
ronnie
good
evening.
G
D
Thank
you
very
much
for
being
here
again.
I
asked
commission
members
to
click,
raise
hands
to
be
recognized
to
speak.
Please
state
your
name
each
time.
Your
comment
just
a
reminder
that
the
public
is
listening
on
the
phone
and
this
helps
keep
everyone
up
to
date.
On
the
order
of
the
meeting
and
who
is
commenting
or
speaking,
we
do
have
a
quorum
yay.
D
Which
brings
us
to
approval
for
minutes
for
our
april
meeting
for
21
22..
We
get
a
motion
to
approve
minutes
for
april
21st
2022.
D
All
right
do
we
take
a
roll
call
vote
for
that
motion
to
be
all
right,
we'll
call
vote,
commissioner,
harold.
Yes,
all
right,
commissioner
smith,.
H
Porn
is
present.
Any
abstention
of
voting
without
previously
being
removed,
is
counted
as
a
vote
for
the
motion
that
is
moving
forward
before
commission.
D
All
right
so
move
motion
is
approved
and
minutes
are
approved.
Thank
you
very
much.
Moving
on
to
next
item
up
for
business,
our
staff
updates,
which
is
elena
bringing
up
to
date
with
the
oei
newsletter
elena.
I
Thank
you,
chiara
rodriguez,
the
office
of
equity
and
inclusion
has
a
newsletter
that
we're
excited
to
share
with
you
all.
It
comes
out
monthly
for
now
over
the
summer
for
sure
and
then
perhaps
in
the
fall
it
might
go
to
every
other
month,
but
you'll
get
an
email
from
our
office
every
month.
If
you're
interested,
you
can
sign
up
with
the
link.
That's
on
the
agenda,
so
it's
linked
in
our
staff
updates.
I
So,
when
you
click
on
the
link
in
the
agenda
under
the
staff
updates,
this
is
what
will
come
up.
You
can
sign
up
for
our
newsletter
by
entering
your
email
address
in
the
top
part
up
here
where
it
says,

subscribe
into
your
email
hit
subscribe.
I
The
newsletter
is
called,
let's
talk,
equity
and
we
just
provide
updates.
So
what
our
office
is
up
to
some
photos
if
we
have
them
of
the
things
that
we
have
going
on,
we'll
do
some
local
spotlights
on
internal
city
departments
or
external
community
partners
that
are
doing
great
work
around
equity
in
the
city
of
asheville.
I
We'll
give
you
updates
on
upcoming
events
and
opportunities
and
then
we'll
also
have
updates
on
reparations.
The
newsletter
will
point
to
some
resources
that
you
might
be
interested
in
and,
of
course,
the
link
to
our
virtual
engagement
hub
to
stay
up
to
date
on
other
city
boards
and
commissions
and
council
goings-on.
I
I
also
have
an
update
that
council
has
voted
on
a
total
of
four
new
appointments
for
the
human
relations
commission
of
asheville
hooray.
We
have
elena
smith
ashley
wilberging
christopher
boyd,
who
are
present.
I
You
so
much
for
being
here,
we're
glad
you
could
make
it
particularly
chris
who
was
voted
in
on
tuesday
and
then
alma
atkins,
who
was
not
able
to
make
it
tonight
and
was
also
voted
in
this
past
tuesday.
B
I
B
A
A
At
the
buncombe
county
conference
room
on
the
fourth
floor.
A
We
will
start
with
the
impact
focus
areas
of
criminal
justice,
economic
development,
education,
housing
and
health
and
wellness
in
july.
Those
separate
meetings
will
be
starting
and
we
will
we
will
notify
everybody
of
when
those
meetings
are
going
on.
The
only
meeting
that
will
be
streamed
live
are
the
main
meeting
of
the
community
reparations
commission.
D
It's
such
a
pleasure
to
to
be
a
service
together
with
you,
so
thank
you.
Thank.
D
And
moving
on
to
unfinished
business,
I
vote
on
proposed
changes
to
the
hrca.
D
E
A
B
D
So
would
you
like
to
elaborate
on
this
elena.
I
Yes,
so
these
were
the
rules
of
procedure
that
were
updated
as
this
draft
and
the
updates
are
shown
in
red
ink.
Many
of
the
updates
in
red
ink
are
simply
clarification
of
existing
rules
of
procedure
for
hrca.
I
I
There
was
a
question
or
a
desire
to
remove
hispanic
from
as
the
hispanic
workers
from
the
list
for
more
inclusive
language.
We
did
find
out
that
hispanic
is
federally
defined,
and
so
it
is
advised
to
remain
on
the
list
and
aaron
miles.
Our
legal
representative
might
be
able
to
speak
a
little
more
about
that.
H
In
regards
to
keeping,
I
suggest
that
it
be
kept
on
list,
because,
if
a
federally
instinct
defined
latina,
latino
or
latinx
is
not
defined
but
leaving
or,
I
believe
would
allow
the
inclusivity.
I
believe
that
this
commission
is
seeking
both,
I
believe,
would
be
match
what
is
defined
as
well
as
providing
inclusivity
that
this
mission
is
looking
for.
D
I
appreciate
you
looking
at
that
from
a
legal
perspective
and
bringing
in
what
is
state
and
federally
recognized
and
also
what
is
being
brought
in
from
a
social
justice
perspective
as
well.
So
thank
you
for
providing
the
floor
in
there
because
that's
that's
a
really
powerful
word
or
it's
being
used
in
equities
as
well.
A
list
of
education,
operatives
a
list
of
education
or
lived
experience
so
or
is
becoming
more
and
more
powerful
in
the
realm
of
equity
today.
So
thank
you
very
much
for
that.
I
D
Indigenous
is
a
term
that
is
not
necessarily
it's
a
broad
term
that
a
lot
of
native
american
communities
are
stepping
away
from,
because
there
has
been
so
much
with
people
self-determining
indigeneity,
without
actually
being
affiliated
with
a
nation
or
tribe,
so
native
americans.
D
It
specifies
that
a
person
must
be
registered
with
a
tribe
as
opposed
to
indigenous
which
can
take
away
from
an
actual
member
of
a
nation
or
tribe.
That's
federally
recognized.
J
H
And
a
question
here:
I
can
see
that
in
north
carolina
age,
15
is
considered
a
mire.
You
were
hearing
an
adult
at
age
18
in
which
an
adult
would
be
able
to
sign
and
participate
and
be
appointed
by
council
service
commission,
and
we
were
the
commission
agreed
to
remove
the
term
youth
and
identified
individuals
to
encompass.
I
believe
what
you're
saying
and
making
it
more
often
so
18
and
25
is.
K
Thank
you.
My
question
is
just
again
going
back
to
line
a
lot
of
a
and
I
was
asking
in
the
past
if
we
can
still
be
intentional,
with
putting
a
number
on
that
for
black
or
african
americans
and
I'm
not
sure
what
the
response
was
but
aaron.
If
you
can
answer
that
or
elena,
and
the
reason
why
I'm
bringing
that
up
is
because
again
we're
gonna
find
this
commission
to
shift
and
change
gears
in
the
near
future.
K
And
if
we're
not
intentional
with
having
to
you,
know,
force
ourselves
to
have
one
or
two
african-americans,
it
may
not
look
the
same
for
years
to
come.
H
Which
are
not
permitted
under
federal
law
or
state
law
to
be
included
when
dealing
with
race
in
regards
here,
if
you
were
to,
for
example,
if
six
were
to
be
limited
to
only
having
six,
which
means
their,
the
group
will
be
limited
to
six
individuals,
only
no
more
as
well
as
if
it
also
eliminate
other
individuals
allowing
say,
for
example,
someone
with
asian
descent
were
asked
wanted
to
be
on
the
commission
that
if
there
weren't
six
african-americans,
then
that
person,
the
way
it's
written,
would
not
be
permitted
to
be
on
the
commission
based
on
the
numbers.
H
So
that
is
for
the
removal
of
the
quota
language.
It
does
not
keep,
however,
counsel
from
permitting
from
appointing
members
of
these
groups.
It's
the
way
that
is
written
now
is
is,
shall
include,
but
not
limited
to
to
make
it
more
inclusive
for
the
individuals,
as
identified
through
a
through
j
procedures,.
H
Specifically
for
the
membership
that
is
identified
in
the
ordinance
that
created
the
hrpa
and
that
section
will
have
to
go
to
council
for
an
amendment
to
the
ordinance
creating
hrca.
So
once
is
agreed
on
by
this
commission.
Then
it
will
go
to
council
for
review
and
consideration.
D
Concern
with
regards
to
the
commission
not
having
a
firm
directive
set
relating
to
the
amount
of
people
of
color
within
it.
I
know
that
hollywood
just
issued
a
policy
that
said
any
you
show
that
comes
out
have
to
be
a
certain
specific.
D
Is
that
something
that
we
can
bring
in
to
protect
the
integrity
and
the
intent
of
this
commission
to
keep
it
a
diverse
commission
so
that
down
the
line?
Maybe
in
five
years
that
our
colors
are
diluted.
D
The
community,
as
opposed
to
telling
the
community
what
it
needs
to
do
do
you
know
what
I'm
saying
so,
is
that
maybe
a
place
to
meet
in
the
middle,
to
bring
in
a
percentage
in
there
of
the
commission
must
maintain
a
70
diversity
within
it.
In
order
for
the
commission
to.
D
G
H
H
So
they
are
not
subject
to
that
same
limitation
of
quotas,
so
but
I'm
happy
to
look
into
the
percentages.
However,
the
way
you're
explaining
it
and
it
may
be
misunderstanding,
it
sounds
as
if
it
falls
within
the
same
classification
as
a
quota
by
eliminating
it
to
a
certain
number
of
individuals
and
providing
that
that.
D
All
number,
thank
you
very
much
for
willing
to
be
looking
into
it
and
today,
hopefully
that
helps
bring
in
another
option
that
we
might
be
able
to
pursue
within
the
challenge
of
how
do
we
keep
this
commission
diverse
in
the
future?
So
thank
you
for
that
concern.
D
D
If
no
further
discussion
is
warranted,
how
do
we
feel
about
a
vote
to
vote
this
in
or
do
we
wait?
Another
meeting.
K
D
D
D
I
don't
know
no,
commissioner
brandon
oliver.
L
D
Until
next
meeting,
if
if
that
is
something
that
you're
interested
in
doing
for
the
new
members
to
become
more
familiar
with
this.
I
Aaron
initiative
me
if
I'm
wrong,
but
I
believe
if
you
are
wanting
to
table
it,
then
you
will
need
to
vote
no
on
moving
forward
with
this.
Am
I
correct
with
understanding
that.
H
The
next
meeting-
and
you
can
also
have
further
discussion
on
this
item
at
this
meeting
with
anticipation
to
vote
on
the
next
meeting,
but
you
can
remove
the
motion
from
the
floor
and
move
to
the
next.
The
next
meeting.
C
A
Mr
oliver's
opinion,
and
I'm
now
questioning,
is
there
something
that
I'm
missing
here
and
I
don't
want
to
say
yes
to
something
that
may
not
benefit
the
commission
or
as
a
whole
as
a
community.
You
know,
especially
those
of
us
who
are
of
color
and
don't
know
how
things
happen
around
here.
So
I'm
just.
H
This
quota
not
committed
within
government
practice
state
or
federally
as
it
is
written
with
the
members,
those
are
not
enforceable.
So
it's
as
if
you're
reading
them
without
the
numbers
that
just
clarify
that.
If
for
any
questions
that
come
forward.
C
B
B
C
K
I
understand
the
department
is
new
with
new
individuals,
but
it's
it's
just
it
just
feels
like
business
as
usual
and,
like
madison
said,
is
there
really
no
way
we
can
meet
in
the
middle
to
ensure
that
black
people
specifically
have
that
space
to
be
able
to
sign
up
and
come
in?
Because
there
is
something
that
represents?
As
far
as
you
know,.
K
G
I
wonder
if,
since
this
is
being
tabled-
and
we
have
so
many
new
members
who
joined
and
thank
you
for
that,
if
it
would
be
a
benefit
to
maybe
recirculate
the
original
recommendation
of
the
blue
ribbon
commission
that
informed
the
formation.
C
G
Group
to
understand
why
the
numbers
came
to
be
part
of
the
language
in
this
document.
In
the
first
place.
E
Thank
you,
councilman
ronnie.
My
question
is
for
aarons
that,
if
a
quota
is
is
unenforceable
and
we're
reading
it,
just
as
if
those
numbers
aren't
there
well,
what
what
is
that?
What
does
it
do
to
the
document
if
we
leave
it
saying
it
is.
E
Okay,
so
so
it's.
E
Even
if
we
leave
it
as
it
is
without
being
altered
today,
it'll,
it
still
stayed
as
if
those
numbers
weren't
there
like
it's
like
it's
revised
written.
Oh
thank
you
whoever's,
sharing
that
in
the
response,
so
it
would
look
like
a
black
or
african-american
is
how
it's
enforceable.
E
Yes,
okay,
so
I
guess
can
I
can
I
go
back
to
tiffany
and
ask
you
what
what
would
you
like
to
see
there
for
it
to
feel
like
it's
not
business
as
usual,
to
feel
like
it's
upholding
where
we
want
to
go
for
you.
K
E
Absolutely
get
no
vote
as
a
as
a
principal.
It's
not
because
you're,
not
the
document,
and
you
know
it's
not
it's
gonna
work,
but
it's
the
principle
that
we
need
to
be
looking
with
new
vision.
But
our
question
for
eric
is:
if
we
change
the
language
to
say
at
least
one,
or
at
least
is
that
considered
quoted
asking
for
a
friend.
H
D
I
would
almost
look
at
it
and
I
see
a
commissioner
boyd.
I
would
almost
look
at
this.
I
just
want
to
interject
here
that
by
putting
in
the
numbers,
commissioner,
down
below
it's
like
adding
boxes,
you
know
like
it's
just
checking
boxes
instead
of
organically,
allowing
the
people
who
want
to
be
here
to
be
here.
D
D
I
think
you
know
it's
up
to
essentially
staff
and
city
council
who
is
on
this
commission.
It's
city
council
who
does
the
appointments,
and
so
as
city
council
has
a
guideline
of
who
is
expected
to
be
on
this
commission
without
a
box
checking.
D
I
think
that
that
allows
for
the
diversity
that
is
within
this
commission
to
grow
and
blossom
in
a
way
that
includes
all
people
and
invites
all
voices
which
is
what
actually
is
made
up
of
and
is
making
up
more
of
every
day
as
more
and
more
people
move
to
this
town,
and
so
by
offering
the
opportunity
to
not
be
a
check
box
commission
by
having
a
specific
number,
because
you
know
this
year,
it
may
be
six
right
next
year.
D
D
You
know,
because
it's
not
limited
to
it's,
not
at
the
limit
and
we
of
color
we
black
indigenous
people
of
color,
we
indigenous
black
racialized
people,
have
all
had
limitations.
So
why
are
we
putting
limitations
on
ourselves
and
our
commission?
That
represents
our
voices
in
this
community.
D
So,
let's
table
it,
let's
table
it
think
about
it,
marinate
in
this
in
this
space
and
maybe
see
how
what
aaron
comes
up
with
with
regards
to
how
we
can
navigate
around
this
challenge
so
that
it's
not
limiting,
while
also
providing
an
opportunity
to
be
true
inclusivity
without
limitations
of
box
checking
numbers.
D
C
F
I
didn't
know
I
had
to
take
the
hand
gesture
off
sorry,
I
I
really
agree
with
that
last
statement
and
that
was
kind
of
what
I
had
on
my
mind.
Just
because
including
everybody
instead
of
just
like
you
said
checking
boxes,
didn't
become
something
that's
bigger
than
a
curtain
box.
D
So
we're
going
to
show
this
bring
the
motion
off
the
table
and
shove
it
to
our
next
meeting
and
then
we'll
we'll.
You
know
after
unpacking
this
over
the
next
month.
I
encourage
people
to
get
together
and
unpack
it
together,
reach
out
in
the
emails.
D
D
D
So,
with
that
moving
on
to
our
new
business
commissioner
develo
board
and
commission
restructuring
discussion,
commissioner,
you
are
on
thank.
K
You,
madam
chair,
good
evening,
everyone,
my
name,
is
tiffany.
I
wanted
to
just
formally
present
to
the
commission
here
and
bring
it
to
our
table.
A
discussion
on
what's
been
happening
with
within
city
government.
That's
going
to
have
an
impact
on
our
current
commission,
but
all
city
boards
and
commissions.
So
look
at
that
hurdle.
If
you
don't
know
the
city
is
planning
on
restructuring
and
revamping
current
boards
and
commissions,
so
the
actual
city
council
is
planning
to
get
rid
of
over
20
community
advisory
boards,
including
ones
that
that
are
structured
to
dismantle.
K
K
Because,
throughout
the
month,
staff
they've
been
hosting
different
listening
sessions
with
the
community
with
boards
and
commissions
and,
of
course,
with
the
city
staff
as
well.
However,
we
feel
just
as
a
collective
group
of
citizens.
We
feel
that
city
council
is
still
moving
along
the
city
staff
hastily
in
making
this
decision
to
disband
20
plus
boards
and
commissions,
to
only
create
four,
which
now
will
take
200,
plus
community
members.
K
Who've
been
serving
on
these
boards
and
commissions
and
they'll
be
funded
into
four
different
advisory
boards,
of
course,
with
what's
more
they're
claiming
there's
more
access.
But
I
want
us
to
be
intentional
on
coming
together,
not
only
to
have
a
discussion
but
to
use
our
voice
and
our
ability
to
make
recommendations
to
city
council.
K
One
piece
that
I
shared
with
everyone
was
just
the
fact
that
the
city
is
about
to
create
a
pilot
program,
and
this
pilot
program
is
going
to
be
the
group
that
eventually
will
make
recommendations
on
which
boards
and
commissions
will
continue
to
be.
And
I
think
that
it's
important
for
us,
as
the
human
relations
commissioner
of
ashville,
to
be
able
to
be
addressed
and
on
top
of
this
situation,
so
that
we
can
lean
in
to
support
other
boards
and
commissions
while
making
sure
the
community
voice
is
heard.
K
So
with
that,
I
wanted
to
kind
of
go
over
a
proposal
that
I
would
I
would
like
to
just
get
our
input
on,
but
before
I
jump
into
that
or
before
I
start
reading,
this
is
my
first
time
presenting.
This
also
is
the
end
of
my
term,
and
I
just
want
to
make
sure
that
the
time
and
commitment
that
I've
invested
in
the
human
relations
commission,
I
want
us
to
be
able
to
do
something
where
we
can
see.
K
You
know
a
change
and
we
can
weigh
in
on
making
a
difference
within
this
city,
but
I
want
to
open
it
up.
I
see
brandon
have
his
hand
up
and
also
just
asking
for
guidance
from
our
councilwoman
and
miss
mills
and,
of
course
aaron.
L
Hello.
Everyone,
sorry
for
my
signal
problems
right
now.
I
just
wanted
to
say
that
I
second
and
support
what
commissioner
was
saying.
This
is
a
big
deal
and
it's
been
put
through
the
out
there.
L
I
think
we
should
can
do
something
about
this,
since
it
does
affect
more
than
just
us,
but
us
at
the
human
relations.
I
think
we
have
a
larger
impactful
voice
if
we
use
it.
So
I
would
love
to
be
part
of
a
recommendation
for
this
to
happen.
Thank
you
for
sharing
that.
Thank
you
for
your
time
on
the
commission
and
for
what
I
can
do.
I
will
make
sure
that
the
things
that
you
are
inhabited
fighting
for
continue
to
be
fought
for
until
everyone.
K
I
I
have
a
quick
question.
I
do
see
your
hand,
so
this.
C
G
G
It
does
help
to
have
a
document
in
advance
that
members
of
the
public,
as
well
as
this
group,
can
take
it
into
consideration.
Acknowledging
that
the
written
word.
G
That
folks
can
provide
input.
You
may
also
reach
out
to
council
directly
to
provide
a
verbal
input,
but
that
is
most
typically
the
way
that
our
advisory
works.
Advise
the
council,
maybe.
K
So
if
we
can
just
take
this
moment
to
look
at
us
having
the
discussion
and
then
I
would
love
to
be
able
to
send
out
the
template,
that
managed
here
to
me
with
the
with
the
verbiage
for
our
next
meeting.
F
For
canceling,
the.
K
K
I
K
D
That
you're
bringing
in
right
so
something
like
that,
would
call
for
a
working
group
right
to
work
on
the
recommendation
so
that
we
can
do
things
in
the
working
group
like
reach
out
to
other
commissions
who
take
umbrage
with
the
restructuring
pilot
and
connect
with
them,
and
then
also
maybe
community
members
and
members
of
local
organizations
that
might
have
similar
concerns
with
the
restructuring
pilot.
D
So
my
concern
is,
is
that
this
is
being
brought
in
to
us
to
do
the
work
with
the
recommendation.
D
K
D
K
D
All
right
cool,
and
would
you
be
interested
in
maybe
seeing
who's
interested
and
being
in
this
working
group
now,
like
maybe
with
like
a
show
of
hands
so
that
you
can
have
people
join
you
and
then
reach
out
in
that
way
to
connect
with
creating
this
working
group
to
move
forward
with
the
recommendation?
D
Yeah
all
right
cool.
Do
you
want
to
do
that
right
now
or
do
you
want
to
go
brenda.
K
A
A
You
know
if
you
want
to
keep
your
board,
what
changes
happen
or
is
lost
if
you
do
not
have
this
board
or
are
there
recommendations
to
remain
with
this
board
and
what's
the
next
steps
for
that,
because
what
I
want
to
say
is
I
took
a
little
bit
of
account.
Nine
members
of
this
committee
are
african-american
and
I
believe
four
of
them
did
have
two
of
them
have
not
attended
the
last
three
meetings.
A
I
also
wanted
to
state
and
I'm
not
sure
if
you
talked
about
it
at
the
last
meeting.
Well,
we
didn't
have
a
last
meeting,
but
it
was
kind
of
sick.
Mr
gene
troy,
who
came
to
do
an
orientation
for
you
guys
last
fall
said
that
in
whatever
form
you
are
in,
they
will
continue
to
support
us.
A
A
So
I
just
wanted
to
say
that
we
have
slowed
down
so
and
ultimately,
the
boat
is
not
staffed.
It
is
city
council,
so.
A
K
Bring
that
to
this
meeting
space
here,
just
still
staying
focused
with
the
intention
of
just.
K
A
D
The
four
proposed
groups
are
set
in
stone,
so
if
we
do
have
a
chance,
if
you
know
say
the
pilot
goes
through
and
we.
D
It
would
be
the
relations
committee
so
that
that
would
just
be
the
only
shift
with
that,
but
there
is
that
option
there.
It's
not
just
specifically
for
and
that's
concrete,
and
we
can't
work
outside
of
that.
They
are
open
to
suggestions,
and
I
think
that.
G
D
An
important
important
thing
to
bring
in
and
that's
you
know
it's
just
feedback
and
suggestions
and
how
to
make
it
better
and
not
come
from
a
place
of
harmony
but
to
encourage
healing
in
our
communities.
C
H
So
I'm
not
exactly
how
it
is
defined
within
the
restructuring
that
information
may
be
better
found
on
the
restructuring
page
and
I
believe
either
earlier
or.
A
What
she's
going
to
send
you-
and
I
do
want
to
address
so
and
wayne
of
what
we're
planning,
what
the
proposal
is-
is
to
take
the
20
advisory
board,
so
the
quasi-judicials
that
are
set
up
by
statute
have
to
remain,
and
then
we
have
a
set
of
regional
boards,
and
I
want
to
correct
the
number
we
are
not
getting
into
200
members
we're
getting
rid
of
130.
A
That's
what
comprises
those
20
advisory
boards,
so
we're
looking
at
them
going
into
four
boards
which
match
up
with
the
themes
under
the
ash
living
ashford,
comprehensive
plan.
A
So
up
under
that,
I
don't
know
all
the
names,
so
I'm
not
adverse
with
those
human
relations
and
african
american
heritage
would
be
under,
I
believe,
equity
in
community,
or
something
like
that.
So
you
can
still
apply
to
be
on
that
board.
I
don't
know
we
there's
no
numbers
set
in
stone
for
how
many
members
are
on
that
board,
but
here's
how
it
works.
You
still
meet
every
month,
but
every
other
month
you
meet
with
a
council
committee.
So
you
will
report
to
a
council
committee.
A
So,
instead
of
you
having
one
liaison
and
now
we
have
our
wonderful
kim
rony,
that
is
always
been
supportive
of
you
guys
you
go
to
three
city
council
people
and
you
get
to
know
you're
going
to
have
more
actionable
items.
So
when
you
go
to
those
meetings,
you're
going
to
be
presenting
things
to
them
to
say
we
want
to
move
forward
some
of
this,
so
we
want
to
do
whatever
and
they're
going
to
say.
Let's
go
run
with
it.
A
The
working
groups
can
set
themselves
up
that
not
public
meetings
you
can
meet
on
your
own
time.
A
You
will
have
some
general
staff
support
if
you
need
it
for
resources
and
information,
but
that's
base,
that's
the
basics
if
you
go
and
but
I
want
you
to
go
and
look
at
the
video,
the
the
most
recent
presentations,
because
I'm
sure
they've
changed
over
time
and
that
we
have
slowed
down
and
and
tiffany
is
correct-
I'm
I
don't
number
know
the
number
now,
but
most
of
the
people
who
have
attended
the
meetings,
don't
sit
on
boards
and
commissions.
A
So
it
is
important
that
you
show
up
as
a
member
of
a
board
or
commission.
They
are
virtual.
So
if
you
can't
make
the
meeting
you
can
always
go
back
and
look
at
the
videos
and
information.
So
I
hope
that
helps
a
little
bit.
D
Thank
you
very
much.
If
we're
completely
on
that
item
for
business,
we
will
move
on
to
committee
updates.
D
Government
relations
with
tiffany
me
and
brandon
brandon.
D
Yeah,
let's
do
that
and
our
next
committee
update
comes
from
community
engagement,
susie
me
and
tiffany
and
harvey
yes.
J
Are
commissioner.
J
D
E
D
Definitely
and
then
I
wonder
if
these
recommendations,
if
we
can
give
them
to
you
and
then
also
present
them
to
city
council
as
well,
to
anchor
them,
because
I
know
that
the
commission,
the
last
recommendation
regarding
protections
for
implement
weather
for
our
health
community,
still
hasn't
been
heard.
E
D
We're
dealing
with
climate
in
change
effect,
and
I
was
wondering
if
we
can
revisit
that
recommendation
with
city
council
and
what
that
would
look
like.
G
Receiving
it,
the
council
members
to
ensure
that
it
doesn't
end
up
being
missed
and
the
many
communications
that
we
receive
from
the
public.
Additionally,
it
is
absolutely
appropriate
for
the
chair
to
make
a
recommendation
to
present
to
the
council
on
recommendations.
I
have
seen
this
done
typically
with
staff
reports.
There
are
a
group
of
recommendations,
for
example,
and
I'm
happy
to
forward
that
along
or
the
chair
can
reach
out
for
our
general
request.
D
D
We'll
move
on
to
our
community
announcements
for
our
next
item
of
business.
Are
there
any
community
announcements
from
the
commissioners
that
you
would
like
for
the
city
of
asheville
county
to
know.
G
Absolutely,
and
one
of
the
specificities
I
offered
was
that
when
you
make
a
recommendation,
I've
been
assisting
the
liaison
report
with
that
recommendation
and
how
to
watch
the
meeting
and
what
time
the
recommendation
was
made
to
each.
G
G
Which
just
happened
in
the
budget
here
this
week
is
that
a
number
of
members
from
the
urban
forestry
commission
came
together
with
a
reminder
for
the
request
for
the
urban
forester
and
support
for
that
new
position
in
budget.
Look
back
and
see
how
other
example,
if
you'd
commissions
are
engaging
during
the
meeting
I
mean.
In
that
case
it
happened
after
the
general
public
comment
for
the
budget,
and
I
have
also
seen
that
happen
in
a
general
public
comment.
At
the
end
of
the
council
meeting.
D
J
J
And
very
enjoyable
event.
I
also
went
to
the
festival
this
past
weekend,
mississippi
people
individuals
there,
and
that
was
great.
It
was
really
great.
J
J
Civility
and
cross-cultural
comic
resolutions
and
importance
of
reaching
refilling
with
pushing
and
communicating,
and
we
learn
how
to
talk
to
individuals
with
respect
and
how
to
handle
certain
situations
in
different
manners.
J
J
And
also
the
the
training.
L
G
Thank
you
very
much.
I
just

Yes,
training
city
mandated
equity
and
inclusion
process
working
on
that
accountability,
pipeline
for
complaints,
process,
procedures
for
city
employees
and
resident
complaints
working
on
that
lgbtq,
a
discrimination
protection
process
that
is
aaron
we're
doing
that.
How's
that
working
on
networking
with
the
complete
process
for
our.
H
Lgbtqia
community,
so
the
city's
documentation
and,
from
my
understanding,
all
complaints
that
have
been
received
have
been
closed
at
this
time
and
there
has
been
a
resolution.
The
conclusion
received
those
complaints.
H
I
Thank
you,
and
just
for
the
benefit
of
the
commission.
I
have
also
created
a
tutorial
video
that
talks
a
little
more
about
the
ordinance
and
how
you
can
file
a
complaint
so
we're
working
on
getting
that
up
on
the
website
as
well.
That
way,
if
reading
is
not
the
best
way
that
you
receive
information,
you
can
also
watch
a
video
and
receive
it
that
way
as.
D
Well,
thank
you.
Elena
aaron
is
the
ada
compliance
and
complaint
process,
part
of
the
non-discrimination
ordinance,
or
is
that
something
separate.
D
Thank
you
very
much
for
that
clarity.
Creation,
volunteer
mentorship
program
to
support
returning
citizens,
public
safety,
fair,
equitable
housing
and
environmental
climate
concerns
are
all
future
agenda
items.
At
this
time
we've
come
up
to
adjournment.
D
We
don't
need
to
call
for
a
vote
if
there
is
no
other
business.
We
will
adjourn.
