Description

If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
B
Good
morning,
I'm
vice
mayor
smith,
the
chair
of
the
boards
and
commissions
committee,
and
I
would
like
to
welcome
you
to
the
september
14th
remote
meeting.
All
council
committee,
members
and
staff
are
participating
virtually
to
help
our
audience
follow
along
I'll
state.
Each
section
of
the
agenda
allowed.
B
We
are
streaming,
live
on
our
virtual
engagement
hub,
which
is
accessible
through
the
virtual
engagement
hub
link
on
the
front
page
of
the
city
website.
We
also
have
an
option
for
the
public
to
listen,
live
by
phone
for
those
of
you
out
there
with
us
today.
Welcome
for
today's
meeting.
We
have
the
option
for
people
to
call
in
and
comment
live
during
the
meeting
to
call
in
and
comment
live
use.
The
same
number
855
925.
B
C
B
B
B
Okay,
there's
no
one
in
a
queue:
we'll
move
one
to
item
c
new
business.
We
have
a
few
appointments
for
september.
The
african-american
heritage.
Commission
has
one
vacancy,
the
commission
put
forth
a
recommendation
for
appointment
and
they
recommend
stephen
blunt
for
appointment
committee.
Are
there
any
comments
or
is
there
a
motion.
C
B
All
right
I'll
do
a
roll
call
vote
for
approval,
councilwoman
mosley
I
councilwoman
rony,
I
and
myself.
I
that
motion
carries
to
recommend
stephen
blunt
for
appointment
to
the
seat
on
the
african-american
heritage
commission.
Next,
we
have
board
of
adjustment.
B
There
is
one
vacancy
for
an
alternate
member,
but
it
looks
like
we're
going
to
have
to
re-advertise
because
no
applications
were
received
so
we'll
move
on
to
the
civic
center
commission
and
there
is
one
vacancy-
the
board
chair
and
staff
liaison
recommend
yvonne
cook
riley,
followed
by
chad,
evans,
which
I
believe
I'm
reading,
that
correctly
correctly.
C
I
see
that
yvonne
has
served
and
with
I'm
grateful
that
she
has
for
six
years
on.
This
commission
is
yvonne
eligible.
B
B
C
I
had
a
question
just
as
curiosity.
I
didn't
see
attachments
for
michael
brown
as
far
as
a
resume
or
additional
information
to
the
application.
Do
we
have
updates?
Is
there
anything
new
from
michael?
There
has
been
nothing
new
received
from
michael,
and
I
also
understand
that
eddie
does
not
live
in
the
city
limits.
B
But
I
was
interested
in
marilyn
raynor.
I
know
last
time
when
we
we
recommended
appointments.
B
We
were
filling
a
seat
of,
I
can't
remember
the
gentleman's
name,
but
he
was
an
african-american
male
and
mr
davidson
at
the
time.
I
believe
we
made
a
recommendation
to
see
the
person
who
was
not
of
african
descent
and
we're
going
to
use
this
time
to
possibly
feel
that
demographic
is
my
memory
serving
me
correctly.
B
Indeed,
okay,
and
for
that
purpose
I
was
looking
at
marilyn
rainer.
She
is
an
african-american
woman
and
also
a
disabled
citizen
as
well.
Are
there
any
additional
comments
or
anyone
you
know
want
to
add
anything
to
to
the
conversation
about
it?.
B
D
A
Sorry
to
interrupt,
there
is
two
seats
there.
C
B
C
So
in
at
this
point
we
do
have
a
number
of
applications.
However,
someone
outside
of
the
city
limits,
and
I
hope
that
we
might
be
able
to
get
some
more
attachments
or
documents
from
michael.
But
so
my
suggestion
would
be
to
re-advertise
for
the
vacancy
and
also
to
ensure
that
all
the
members
are
able
to
participate
for
the
requirements
of
attendance
because
we
may
have
more
than
one
vacancy
at
the
time.
C
Well,
we
have
had
some
attendance
issues
with
some
of
the
new
appointees,
so
we
have
a
new
hrca
meeting
this
week
and
I
think
we
will
need
to
review
if
folks
are
able
to
attend
virtual
meetings.
B
So
it
sounds
that
the
committee
wants
to
fill
one
of
the
vacancies
and
then
for
the
second
vacancy,
we'll
just
re-advertise.
B
Okay,
with
no
other
comments
from
the
committee,
we
have
one
one
recommendation
to
put
forth
tonight
to
full
council
and
then
for
the
second
seat
will
just
be
advertised.
B
Thank
you.
We
do
have
unfinished
business.
In
july
there
was
a
request
to
elevate
the
transit
committee
to
a
council.
According
commission,
we
have
with
us
jessica
morris
from
the
transportation
department
and
rachelle
slorin
cox,
the
chair
of
the
transit
committee,
they're,
going
to
share
some
information
and
updates
for
us
welcome.
E
E
Essentially,
what
we
have
in
the
drafts
is
a
description
of
the
background
in
history,
as
well
as
the
purpose
and
duties
of
the
commission,
which
are
really
the
same
as
what
they
have
been
as
a
transit
committee,
and
their
role
would
be
to
be
an
advisory
body
directly
to
the
city
council.
Instead
of
the
multimodal
commission.
E
The
term
would
be
two
full
consecutive
three-year
terms
which
is
consistent
with,
I
believe,
most
of
the
commissions
of
the
council,
and
basically
this
is
it
for
our
draft.
I'm
happy
to
answer
any
questions
and
and
if
there
are
any
changes
that
that
the
committee
would
like
to
see
prior
to
this
being
forwarded
to
council,
we're
happy
to
do
that
as
well.
C
C
I
just
appreciate
that
I
also
wanted
to
acknowledge
that
dennis
wenzel,
the
chair
of
the
multi-modal
transportation
commission,
is
also
on
this
call,
and
thank
you
to
rochelle
and
dennis
for
your
leadership
instead
of
a
either
or
I
think
that
we
have
a
really
fantastic
opportunity
here
for
both
and
for
the
multimodal
transportation
commission
to
deeply
focus
on
the
close,
the
gap
study
with
greenway's
accessibility
and
pedestrian
needs
in
our
community
and
for
the
transit
commission
to
advise
council
directly
in
the
staff
report.
C
I
would
add
that
our
council
goals
could
include
from
our
retreat
and
equitable
cover
recovery
from
the
coven
19
pandemic,
because
transit
is
accessibility
to
jobs,
housing,
education,
food,
child
care.
C
The
ncdot
studies
show
a
growing
north
carolina
population
with
projections
of
non-drivers
growing
as
well,
including
our
growing
number
of
elders
that
are
aging
in
place
and
even
though
it
may
be
a
con
because
it
would
take
more
time
for
council
to
appoint
members
of
the
transit
committee.
That
could
also
be
counted
as
a
pro
in
the
staff
report
in
that
council
would
be
directly
appointing
and
communicating
with
the
transit
committee.
Again.
B
Thank
you
for
that.
So
there
is
no
action
written
here,
but
it
seems
to
me
that
since
we
we've
been
having
this
conversation
since
july,
it
seems
to
me
that
if
the
committee
agrees,
we
can
go
ahead
and
make
a
recommendation
for
this
elevation
and
have
it
on
the
full
council
agenda
for
future
discussion.
D
Remind
me,
please:
isn't
there
a
process
underway
already
that
addresses
the
overall
committee
and
commission
makeup
that
we
have,
and
where
are
we
on
that
larger
study.
A
Correct
internally,
we
are
working
on
an
assessment
just
to
review
process
of
all
of
our
boards
and
commissions
still
internal,
and
we
hope
to
talk
to
the
council
and
get
feedback
on
any
kind
of
proposal
or
restructure.
That
may
be
underway
in
the
coming
months.
But
I,
but
it
would
off.
It
would
be
a
very
long
process
as
far
as
getting
the
public
comment
and
and
everything
so
I
feel
like
that'd,
be
a
it'd
be
a
while
before
we
got
there.
B
Well,
if
this
conversation
is
moved
forward
to
full
council,
then
we
can
take
that
restructure
restructuring
process
into
consideration.
But
it's
this
elevation
I
mean
totally
makes
sense
to
me.
We
have
a
lot
of
big
projects
coming
up,
especially
when
addressing
our
transit
service
and
the
development
soon
to
come
on
the
transit,
the
property
adjacent
to
our
transit
center,
this
major
stuff
and
reporting
directly
to
council
and
not
kind
of
being
buried
under
another
commission.
B
I
think
it's
timely
so
with
that
being
said,
I'll
make
a
motion
to
to
honor
the
request
to
elevate
the
transit
committee
to
a
council
appointed
commission
and
for
this
discussion
to
move
forward
to
full
council
on
a
future
agenda.
B
B
Moving
on
to
item
e,
the
informal
discussion
and
updates,
I
just
like
to
insert
here
that
we
have
interviews
on
this
afternoon,
starting
at
2
30
with
planning
and
zoning
commission
candidates
and
the
buncombe
county
tourism
development
candidate.
So
if
you
want
to
watch
that
live
we'll
be
on
at
2
30.
B
All
right,
any
other
comments
from
the
committee.
