From YouTube: How to make a face mask with Katy
Description
In this video Katy shows you how to make a face mask. This craft activity is aimed at adults due to the sewing involved. These are not meant to be used as medical masks, just for when you are out and about, going to the shops or using public transport. Here is the link to the pattern used in the video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1z_JX0URwc9Gcr9qFFOiNdN_5Bzz3D4-Z/view?usp=sharing
A
Hello:
everyone,
my
name,
is
Katie
and
welcome
to
another
library,
craft
video
in
this
video
I'm,
going
to
be
showing
you
how
you
can
make
some
face,
masks
from
fabric
at
home,
and
it's
important
to
wear
face
masks
at
the
moment,
especially
when
you're
on
public
transport.
It's
now
compulsory,
so
I
thought
it
would
be
a
good
idea
to
make
a
video
to
show
you
how
you
can
turn
some
fabric
or
maybe
an
old
t-shirt
into
a
face
mask
and
usually
the
videos
I
make
for
BCP.
A
Libraries
are
children's
activities,
but
this
video
is
aimed
at
adults
due
to
the
sewing.
That's
involved.
So
without
further
ado.
Let's
go
on
with
the
craft
video,
so
for
this
craft
you
will
need
some
fabric.
This
can
either
be
craft
fabric
like
I
used
or
you
can
maybe
cut
up
an
old
t-shirt.
Maybe
it
has
a
hole
in
it
and
you
need
to
upcycle
it.
This
is
a
perfect
opportunity.
A
A
So,
to
begin
with,
you
need
to
get
your
fabric
and
fold
it
in
half
with
the
pattern
side
or
the
front
side
inwards
like
I'm
doing
here,
and
then
you
need
to
cut
out
the
paper
pattern
and
place
it
on
the
fabric
and
you
attach
it
using
some
pins.
You
can
get
pins
in
most
sewing
kits.
You
maybe
have
a
sewing
kit
lying
around
at
home.
A
Maybe
you've
picked
one
up
from
a
hotel
sometime
or
you
just
have
one
or
you
can
just
pick
them
up
from
your
local
supermarket
quite
cheaply,
and
you
just
need
to
attach
your
pattern
to
your
fabric
with
pins,
just
to
secure
it
in
place
and
once
it
is
secured
in
place.
You
then
need
to
cut
out
your
fabric
like
this,
and
this
only
needs
to
be
a
rough
cut
because
we're
going
to
be
sewing
it
and
the
edge
will
be
on
the
inside
of
the
mask.
A
A
These
I
am
sewing
a
normal
running
stitch
all
the
way
along
and
then
going
back
and
filling
in
the
gaps
with
another
running
stitch,
all
the
way
back
and
then
you
have
both
ends
to
tie
together
quite
neatly,
and
you
don't
have
to
worry
too
much
again
about
being
neat
necessarily.
But
you
just
need
to
make
sure
that
the
line
use.
So
it's
quite
neat
because
this
will
define
the
shape
of
your
mask
about
the
size
of
your
stitches.
A
Don't
have
to
be
necessarily
even
because
they
all
be
hidden,
and
once
you
have
sewn
along
the
top
and
the
bottom
of
your
mask,
you
then
can
turn
it
inside
out
or
the
right
way
around
like
I'm
doing
here
and
just
make
sure
you
shape
the
mask
properly
like
this,
and
then
we
can
actually
elastic.
So
first,
you
need
to
fold
down
the
seams
like
this
into
the
inside
and
pin
it
down,
and
you
do
that
with
both
ends.
A
A
If
you
want
to
it's
totally
up
to
you,
you
can
style
your
mask.
However,
you
like
because
you're
the
one
that
has
to
wear
it
and
yes
I'm,
just
adding
a
couple
of
buttons
I'm,
adding
two
of
the
same
buttons
biannually
to
each
other,
but
you
can
add
for
the
same
buttons
or
for
different
buttons.
It's
completely
up
to
you
and
then,
once
you
have
sewn
your
embellishments
on,
you
are
ready
to
wear
your
mask
and
you
can
make
as
many
masks
as
you
want
to.
A
Maybe
you
can
make
some
for
your
whole
family,
your
friends,
if
you've
got
quite
a
lot
of
fabric
lying
around.
These
are
really
easy
to
make
and
you
can
upcycle
some
old
clothing
easily
and
also
these
will
make
your
masks,
nice
and
unique.
But
remember
these
aren't
proper
medical
masks.
They
just
masks
for
going
out
and
about
and
you
can
wash
them
as
well.
If
we
so
often
just
to
keep
them
nice
and
clean-
and
here
is
my
finished
mask
there
we
go
so
thank
you
for
watching,
and
everyone
stay
safe.
