Hello
and
welcome
to
Lake
to

a
show
about
our
beautiful
city
of
Bellevue,
I'm
Robin
Steele
this
month.
We
feature
an

milestone
for
East

an
Employment

that
enriches
the
city,
an

showcasing
careers

on
February
24th,
sound
transit
and
elected
officials
celebrated
a
milestone
for
East
Link
light
rail
in
Bellevue.
Since
late
January
crews
have
been
working
24
hours
a
day
on
tunnel
excavation
at
the
South
portal
for
the
downtown
tunnel.
A
That
will
be
approximately
1/3
of
a
mile
in
length
and
will
extend
from
Main
Street
to
North
East
6th
Street.
The
tunnel
will
be
dug
in
small
sections
using
an
excavator
and
cutting
equipment,
a
method
called
sequential
excavation.
The
work
will
involve
periodic
lane
closures
and
accompanying
traffic
control.
One.
B
A
Construction
of
East
Link
will
also
involve
the
upcoming
closure
of
the
South

personnel
works
with
people
with
developmental
disabilities
to
find
positions
for
them
in
the
community.
We
partner
with
various
employers
all
through
King
County,
to
find
them
a
position
that
suits
their
interests
their
needs.
There
is
no
cost
to
the
employer.
The
program
is
actually
funded
by
the
federal
government.
The.
E
City
of
Bellevue
has
just
started
in
December
and
utilities
brought
our
newest
employee
on
in
Jan
right
tonight.
Employees,
Jessie,
Gilman,
I,
think
Jessie's
first
day
here,
I
went
and
I
grabbed
him
and
I
said
hey.
What
are
you
doing
for
lunch
and
we
went
and
had
lunch
in
the
lunch
room
together
and
he's
been
such
a
great
conversation
partner
after
that,
so
we
we've
we've
got
a
lot
of
things
that
we
talk
about
in
between
work
and
hobbies,
basketball,
movies
and
all
kinds
of
things.
E
So
the
best
part
for
me
has
just
been
getting
a
new
co-worker
who's.
Interesting
and
entertaining
Jessie
helps
all
of
us
at
the
service
center
by
doing
all
kinds
of
tasks
for
all
of
the
different
departments,
as
are
sections
in
our
department,
he
works
with
stores.
He
works
with
our
surface
water
and
stormwater.
He
works
with
the
wastewater
department,
doing
all
kinds
of
tasks
for
them.
Some
we're
about
to
get
him
on
this
really
great
project.
Where
he's
gonna
be
scanning
maps
into
our
archive
systems,
a
lot
of
really
great
stuff.
This.
F
D
Believe
that
supportive
employment
is
truly
such
an
amazing
thing.
The
benefits
are
on
both
sides,
it's
so
enriching
to
the
individual
themselves,
who
is
participating
in
the
supportive
employment
program,
as
well
as
the
employer
themselves
having
these
contributions
and
these
employees
being
able
to
come
in
every
day
and
do
a
job
that
they
love.
It
just
means
the
world
to
them.
If.
E
C
A
G
So
all
kinds
of
fun
can
be
had
in
this
area.
This
is
the
on-the-go
gallery,
so
focus
is
on
all
things,
transportation
and
moving
and
focuses
on
companies
that
are
based
here
in
our
Northwest
area.
We
have
this
great
package
moving
system
and
the
boxes
go
up
and
they
go
across
the
conveyor
belt
and
then
they
go
into
this
bucket
and
then
they
can
dump
them
into
the
rolling
bin
and
do
it
again
and
again.
G
So
this
is
our
beautiful
pack,
our
truck
that
was
beloved
in
the
old
museum,
but
even
more
beloved
here,
because
it
can
feel
like
you're
going
down
I-90
and
you're
going
the
same
way
as
the
traffic
right
outside
the
window
and
all
of
the
buttons
and
whistles
and
lights
work
in
this
new
truck.
So
families
are
having
a
blast
with
the
new
truck
and
then
this
is
the
recycle,
rebuild
classroom,
so
sponsored
by
Republic
Services.
G
And
what
happens
in
here
is
we're
teaching
children
to
reuse
materials,
not
to
throw
things
out,
we're
teaching
them
about
pulleys
and
hydraulics
and
all
kinds
of
activities
going
on
in
this
area
and
using
real
tools
you
can
see
there
are
real
tools
that
we
want
kids
to
be
able
to
learn,
to
use
and
now
we're
gonna
head
to
the
second
level
and
start
with
the
connections
gallery.
So
the
connections
gallery
is
all
about
connections
in
our
community.
G
This
is
the
Todd
orchard
which
is
designed
for
children
3
and
under
so
there
are
all
kinds
of
places
for
them
to
learn
to
climb
and
crawl
and
play
with
things
just
their
size,
no
really
big
kids
to
run
them
over.
They
can
learn
about
planting
flowers,
they
can
learn
about
putting
apples
and
the
apple
orchard
and
picking
them
they
can
learn
about
bees
and
the
bee
orchard.
G
G
H
Is
open
to
children
birth
to
ten,
and
then
we
have
programming
that
goes
up
to
about
age
12.
So
everyone
is
welcome
at
the
Children's
Museum.
Our
hours
are
Tuesday
through
Saturday
10:00
to
5:00,
with
Thursday
and
Friday,
we're
open
till
8:00
actually
and
Sundays.
We
open
at
noon
and
are
open
till
5:00,
I
hope
that
children
and
their
caregivers
leave
this
museum
wanting
to
learn
more
taking
what
they
learned
here,
take
it
to
their
homes,
to
their
communities,
to
their
schools
and
wanting
more
and
wanting
to
come
back.
Recruiters.
A
I
Heard
curiosity
and
that's
an
authority
I
wrote
down
to
bring
here
I
think
you
have
to
know
yourself
right
and
if
you're
a
lifelong
learner,
then
stem
field
is
for
you
because
basically
it's
always
going
to
be
different
and
interesting.
But
you
have
to
want
to
know
that
information.
Somebody
once
said
to
me
that
if
you
by
the
age
of
30,
a
lot
of
people
are,
you
know,
sort
of
feel
like
they
know
what
they
know.
I
But
if
you
continue
learning
after
the
age
of
30,
then
I
think
and
you're
still
thinking
about
questions
and
answers,
then
that
will
help
to
support
you
and
define
and
I.
Think
for
me,
as
a
young
person,
I
was
always
reading.
Mystery
books
and
science
fiction
and
I
was
very
curious
and
I
really
wanted
to
learn
so
very
similar
to
the
other
two
who
spoke,
but
I
also
think
role,
models
matter
and
you've
heard
about
sort
of
teachers
here.
I
For
me,
I
think
it
actually
was
my
dad
a
little
bit
and
I
would
never
have
admitted
that
then,
but
he
was
kind
of
I
would
say,
he's
the
first
feminist
I
ever
met
because
he
said
find
Ana.
You
know
you
need
to
get
a
job,
something
that
you
can
have
security
with,
but
something
that
is
also
going
to
make
you
feel
interested
and
so
I
chose
pharmacy.
I
think
that
my
whole
goal
is
walk
through
open
doors,
be
curious,
be
a
lifelong
learner.
I
K
I
K
Know
do
graduate
from
high
school
and
then,
if
you're
interested
in
the
fire
service
right,
you
can
get
a
fire
science
degree.
A
lot
of
departments
nowadays
are
asking
for
that.
So
to
be
able
to
you
know
if
you
they
do
running
start
now,
you
can
take
a
fire
science
degree
and
running
start
so
just
being
driven
to,
or
you
know
just
going
after
that.
K
J
L
Having
more
recently
gone
through
that
process,
it's
it's
a
lot
of
work
like
like
Melissa
said
it
takes
about
two
or
three
years
to
get
hired
and
I
did
a
couple.
Different
avenues.
I
went
to
basic
nicole
college
and
did
my
fire
service
training,
which
is
an
AAA,
and
that
was
really
vital
to
get
hands-on
experience
with
all
the
equipment
that
we
use.
You
know
coupling
and
uncoupling
hose
working
with
nozzle
using
the
nozzle
reaction.
L
M
Emily
I
mean
even
back
then
I
think
I
took
14
or
18
tests
before
I
got
hired
on
and
I
failed.
Like
probably
my
first
five
tests,
you
know
and
then
you
just
you
it's
just
like
anything.
You
know
the
fire
department.
Testing
is
a
process,
and
so
anytime
you
do
a
process,
and
then
you
go
through
a
lot
of
repetition
with
it.
You'll
get
better
at
it.
So
that's
a
big
thing,
I
think
that's
key.
