Thank
you,
Mr
snow
Welcome,
Friends,
welcome,
family
welcome
teachers
and
staff
and,
most
importantly,
welcome
the
class
of
2023..
It's
the
most
important
day
of
Our
Lives
so
far,
2160.,
that's
how
many
days
we
have
spent
working
towards
this
moment,
and
it's
finally
here
2160
days
of
growing
up
with
most
of
the
people
in
this
room
has
been
quite
the
roller
coaster.
H
H
The
past
year
has
been
full
of
last
last
first
day,
last
homecoming
last
game
day
last
time
walking
around
the
school
because
we
got
there
after
8
50.
last
time,
at
the
lunch
table
with
our
friends
last
time,
eating
cafeteria
orange
chicken,
which
I'll
probably
get
admit
which
I'm
probably
gonna,
miss
more
than
I.
Should
our
last
picture
together.
H
And
today,
our
last
time,
Under
One
Roof,
but
tomorrow
starts
a
lifetime
of
first,
although
it
seems
as
though
we're
not
ready
for
what's
next,
the
people
around
us
has
prepared
have
prepared
us
well
and
I
know
as
a
class.
We
will
do
great
things
in
this
world,
although
we
may
not
cross
paths
again,
we
were
all
a
part
of
each
other's
childhood
and
those
memories
will
last
a
lifetime
with
that
being
said,
I
wish
you
all
the
best
and
let's
have
our
last
great
Cane
Bay
day.
Thank
you.
I
I
I
would
like
to
thank
my

a
special
place,

and
staff.
Please
stand
to
be
recognized.
I
Seniors,
it
is
truly
an
honor
to
be
on
this
stage
this
afternoon
to
celebrate
you,
the
class
of
2023.
as
I
pondered.
What
to
share
with
you
this
afternoon,
I
reflected
on
all
that
you
have
accomplished.
In
spite
of
what
lay
in
front
of
you
years
in
high
school
were
impacted
in
ways.
None
of
us
could
have
ever
imagined
and
you
Rose
to
the
occasion.
You
persevered,
you
overcame
the
obstacles
and
you
demonstrated
that,
while
the
world
may
seem
scary
and
unsettled,
you
all
have
the
capacity
to
do
amazing
things
I.
I
I
I
We
are
the
ones
called
to
gamble
our
lives
for
a
better
world,
be
the
leaders
you
wish
to
see
and
the
leaders
you
were
called
to
be
at
this
time.
I
would
like
to
make
a
special
recognition.
Please
join
me
in
recognizing
our
six
seniors
that
have
enlisted
in
the
United
States
Army,
Air,
Force
and
Marines.
Those
of
you
enlisted.
Please
stand

J
Our
salutatorian
for
the
class
of
2023
as
Emma
offered
Emma
is
the
daughter
of
Diana
and
Gary
Alford
throughout
her
time.
At
Cane,
Bay
Emma
was
an
active
member
of
Beta
Club
National
Honor
Society
Key
Club
senior
board
and
served
as
a
junior
Marshal.
She
was
also
a
member
of
The
Varsity
tennis
team.
Her
senior
year
Emma
is
a
palmetto
fellow
and
a
Clemson
Palmetto
packed
recipient.
She
plans
to
attend
Clemson
University
in
the
fall
to
major
in
mechanical
engineering,
with
a
focus
on
Aerospace
and
Aviation,
with
the
hopes
of
becoming
an
aerospace
engineer.
J
This
summer,
Emma
was
selected
to
participate
in
a
research
program
at
Clemson
University
funded
by
the
National
Space
Grant
Foundation,
where
she
will
be
conducting
nasa-based
research
with
a
Clemson
professor.
She
is
only
the
second
high
schooler
ever
chosen
for
this
program.
Ladies
and
gentlemen,
are
salutatorian
Emma
Alford.
K
K
Socrates
was
a
very
intelligent,
Greek
philosopher
who
gave
really
long
speeches
did
I
also
mention
he
was
killed
by
his
best
friends,
I'm
sure
those
facts
are
completely
unrelated,
but
in
the
off
chance
that
they
aren't
I'll.
Keep
this
brief
now
to
our
parents
and
teachers.
Dismay
I
think
we
can
all
agree
that
we
don't
truly
remember
the
exact
lessons
or
topics
we
covered
in
class.
K
K
Those
are
the
moments
and
stories.
I
will
tell
my
kids
when
they
ask
about
my
yearbook
and
don't
worry.
I
will
start
the
stories
with
back
in
my
day,
if
I'm
being
honest,
I
think
I've
had
actual
conversations
with
about
30
of
you,
but
that
doesn't
discount
the
impact
you've
made
on
my
high
school
years.
I'll
never
forget
the
half
smiles
and
shoves
I
gave
you
in
the
hall
when
I
was
rushing
the
class
or
the
way
I
laughed
at
you.
K
K
I
think
I
speak
for
all
of
us
when
I
say
that
I'm
terrified
of
what
lies
ahead
but
I
think
it's
a
good
thing
in
itself
to
be
terrified
of
the
future,
because
it
means
we
have
so
many
experiences
left
to
live
so
many
relationships
to
make
and
days
to
spend
doing
what
we
love
so
at
the
risk
of
being
cliche
I
want
to
make
sure
you
guys
promise
to
go
off
and
make
more
memories
have
more
moments,
find
more
people
who
make.
You
feel
the
same
way
that
your
high
school
best
friends
did.
K
I
promised
myself
I,
wouldn't
cry:
go
off
and
find
more
ways
to
love
life,
buy
that
plane,
ticket
Spend,
That,
Rainy,
Day,
fun.
Watch
that
movie
call
your
mom.
She
misses
you.
Thank
you
guys
for
everything
and
I
do
mean
everything.
My
life
will
forever
be
shaped
by
the
years
I
spent
here
at
Cane
Bay
before
we
all
see
each
other
for
the
last
time
and
are
only
caught
up
on
each
other's
lives
through
cringy,
Facebook
and
Instagram
updates.
K
J
Ladies
and
gentlemen,
this
year's
valedictorian
for
the
class
of
2023
is
Karen.
Knee
Karen
is
the
daughter
of
shengau.
Knee
Karen
is
hard,
is
a
hard-working
student
who
always
strives
to
do
her
best.
In
her
past
four
years,
at
K,
Bay
High
School
she's
been
involved
in
many
organizations,
she's
been
a
member
of
Cane
Bay
choirs
and
was
part
of
the
award-winning
Vox
Bellator
and
Cobra
chorale.
J
She
was
also
the
Secretary
of
National
Honor
Society
and
was
involved
in
Mu
Alpha
Theta
Key
Club,
and
the
National
Beta
Club
Karen
has
taken
numerous
challenging
classes,
including
13
AP
classes,
and
has
earned
the
AP
scholar
with
distinction
award
in
the
fall.
She
plans
to
attend
Duke,
University
and
wishes
to
major
in
biology.
Ladies
and
gentlemen,
our
valedictorian
Karen
knee.
G
Also
I
know
the
significant
effort
my
fellow
graduates
have
put
forth
to
be
here.
We
cannot
have
done
this
alone.
We
would
not
be
here
today
without
the
guidance
from
our
parents
and
Guardians
without
the
support
from
our
friends
without
the
knowledge
passed
down
from
our
teachers
and
without
the
work
that
the
administrators
and
staff
have
done
to
ensure
that
we
could
obtain
a
high
quality
education.
G
I
would
like
to
take
this
opportunity
to
extend
my
deepest
appreciation
and
say
thank
you
to
everyone
who
has
helped
me
succeed
and
shaped
me
into
the
individual
that
I
am
today.
It
feels
like.
Just
yesterday,
we
were
freshmen
eager
to
start
at
a
new
school
and
still
scrambling
around
trying
to
find
the
way
to
our
classes.
We
were
curious
and
excited
at
the
prospect
of
the
next
four
years
ahead
through
countless
trials
and
tribulations.
G
We
countered
them
with
growth
and
development
as
individuals.
We
looked
forward
to
the
day
when
we
would
be
able
to
graduate,
and
now
it
is.
Finally,
here
it's
a
Bittersweet
time
as
we
look
fondly
back
on
the
memories
and
reminisce
about
our
final
High
School
events,
including
the
final
dance
concert,
game
performance,
club
meeting
and
exam.
Well,
maybe
not
that
last
one
we
will
have
to
say
goodbye
to
our
teachers
and
friends
as
we
embark
on
our
next
Journey.
G
Nevertheless,
these
memories
will
always
be
treasured
and
serve
as
a
basis
for
who
will
become
as
we
step
out
into
the
real
world.
So
what's
next,
some
of
us
may
be
heading
out
to
college,
while
some
may
be
joining
the
workforce
and
others
may
be
enlisting
in
the
military.
We
will
all
be
venturing
off
on
different
paths
and
heading
toward
different
destinations,
as
we
wander
into
Uncharted
Territory
and
leave
behind
the
comfort
of
familiarity.
G
I
wish
to
remind
everyone
that,
regardless
of
background
or
skill,
we
all
have
the
potential
the
potential
for
greatness,
the
potential
to
achieve
goals
and
the
potential
to
fulfill
our
biggest
hopes
and
dreams.
We
have
the
ability
to
make
an
impact
and
take
all
that
life
has
to
offer
us,
because,
after
all,
the
world
is
your
oyster.
That
is
not
to
say,
there
won't
be
hardship,
it
will
take
drive
and
initiative
to
chase
after
those
dreams
and
turn
that
potential
into
success.
G
There
will
continue
to
be
adversity
and
obstacles
to
overcome.
However,
at
the
end
of
the
day,
if
you
feel
a
sense
of
accomplishment,
you
are
one
step
closer
to
reaching
that
dream,
that
used
to
feel
so
far
away
class
of
2023.
It
is
now
our
time
to
shine.
We
are
the
future,
the
ones
who
will
step
forth,
take
charge
and
create
change.
While
we
may
not
be
while
we
may
be
uncertain
about
the
things
to
come,
we
are
more
prepared
to
confront
the
challenges
that
may
arise.
Thank
you
and
congratulations.

M
Good
afternoon
class
of
2023,
we
can
finally
breathe
after
facing
the
hardships
that
our
academic
years
have
brought
upon
us.
We
have
finally
made
it
to
this
major
milestone
in
our
lives,
as
we
reflect
on
those
who
have
made
us
who
we
are.
We
continue
to
appreciate
those
who
have
crafted
our
beautiful
and
individualized
stories.
Our
personalized
stories
show
that
we
are
strong
and
determined
individuals
who
can
overcome
anything
as
long
as
we
set
our
minds
to
it.
M
You
are
a
small,
yet
important
piece
of
someone
else's
story.
We
have
the
ability
to
make
a
difference
in
each
other's
lives.
You
are
loved
and
will
always
have
a
home
here
at
Cane,
Bay
High
School
life
is
unpredictable,
so
learn
to
love
yourself
and
those
around.
You
appreciate
every
small
thing
thrown
your
way
and
never
take
anything
for
granted
continue
to
shine.
Your
light
continue
to
write
your
own
story.
Not
many
of
you
may
understand,
but
continue
to
write
magic
notes.
