G
H
H
In
my
life,
without
them,
I
won't
be
standing
here
today,
nervously
sweating
through
this
Pine
Green,
graduation
gown,
as
the
salutatorian
I'm
tasked
with
taking
all
gather
here
today
down
memory
lane,
while
also
igniting
a
fire
within
my
classmates
and,
most
importantly,
giving
a
speech
that
is
shorter
than
the
valedictorians
and
I
promise.
You
I
plan
to
do
just
that.
H
First
of
all,
I
want
to
congratulate
my
fellow
graduates
on
this
momentous
occasion.
We
did
it.
We
survived
the
freshman
year
that
was
cut
short
due
to
a
pandemic
a
sophomore
year,
either
behind
a
computer
screen
or
a
mask
due
to
a
pandemic
a
confusing
junior
year,
because
we
didn't
know
if
we
were
still
in
a
pandemic
and
a
senior
that
went
by
faster
than
our
sanity
during
the
pandemic.
H
H
We
may
have
a
mixture
of
excitement,
anticipation
and
perhaps
even
a
tinge
of
anxiety,
but
let
us
remember
that
is
in
the
times
of
transition
that
we
discover
our
true
strength
and
potential.
We
must
remember
remember
that
the
future
is
not
merely
a
destination,
but
it
is
a
journey.
It
is
a
path
we
must
transverse
with
resilience,
adaptability
and
a
hunger
for
knowledge.
H
It
is
through
this
journey
that
we
will
encounter
both
successes
and
setbacks,
and
it
is
in
those
moments
that
of
adversity
that
our
character
will
truly
be
tested.
Success
is
Not
defined
by
how
many
times
we
fall,
but
by
how
many
times
we
rise
back
up
each
step
back
is
the
opportunity
to
learn,
grow
and
become
stronger.
We
all
know
in
sports.
There
is
a
record
tally
by
W's
and
O's,
and
for
me
that
stands
for
wins
and
lessons.
H
Each
lesson
is
important
to
digest,
so
the
wcon
can
only
be
filled,
but
also
be
valuable.
So,
whether
you're
continuing
your
education
entering
the
workforce
or
taking
the
oath
to
serve
our
country
know
that
life's
wins
and
lessons
make
who
you
you,
who
you
are
today
and
is
another
step
in
your
journey.
We
are
no
longer
just
telling
students
of
Timberland.
We
are
now
citizens
of
the
world
ready
to
make
our
mark
on
society,
which
is
scary,
yes,
but
in
the
words
of
famous
artists,
Jeezy
scare
money,
don't
make
no
money.
Thank
you.

Without

we
do
not
get
enjoy
the
benefits
of
high
school.
I
I
There
have
been
great
teams
here
at
Timberland
in
each
there
have
been
great
teams
here
at
Timberland
in
the
past
four
years
and
I'm
glad
I
was
part
of
it.
Thank
you
to
the
Sacramento
Army
National
Guard,
for
allowing
me
to
go
to
school
on
a
full
ride.
Scholarship,
Mom,
Dad,
Ben,
Sam,
I
know
this.
Wasn't
a
life
you
guys
planned
for
us.
You
guys
might
have
some
regrets,
but
once
you
know
everything
worked
out
and
I'm
happy
about
it.
I
am
the
man
I
am
because
of
you
all
mom.
I
You
have
been
there
from
the
start.
God
has
tested
us
over
and
over
again,
and
it
is
about
the
outcomes
of
his
test.
It
is
about
the
way
we
handle
ourselves
through
his
test.
You
are
a
fighter
and
I
wish.
I
could
live
my
life
as
tough
as
you
are
tough
times
are
temporary,
but
tough
people
are
permanent.
I
I
I
Nothing
can
stop
us
each
and
every
one
of
us
has
a
dream
of
some
kind,
stop
and
think
of
what
your
dream
is
or
what
it
can
be.
It
doesn't
have
to
be
what
your
parents
want,
or
what
your
friends
want,
or
even
what
your
teachers
want.
It
has
to
be
what
she
wants.
Whether
your
goal
is
to
play
professional
sports,
be
a
Hollywood
star
or
serve
in
the
military.
You
have
to
have
some
determination
as
we
learned
throughout
High
School.
Nothing
comes
easy
and
we
cannot
procrastinate.
I
We
need
to
chase
our
dreams
because
dreams
don't
chase
us
back.
If
there's
a
chance
to
succeed.
Take
it
you
never
know
when
next
chance
will
come.
You
cannot
go
back
in
time.
Make
every
second
count.
There's
a
line
from
Iron
Man.
No
amount
of
money
has
ever
bought
a
second
of
time.
Life
is
too
short
to
waste.
Most
of
us
have
been
the
past
13
14
years,
25
of
that
in
school.
I
We
all
need
to
decide
what
we
want
to
do
with
this
extra
25
percent
life
can
get
real
boring
if
you're
just
gonna
sit
on
the
couch,
you
can
decide
to
get
back
to
the
community,
go
to
college
or
decide
to
take
extra
steps
at
work.
I,
wouldn't
recommend
that
you
can
decide
you
wherever
you
decide
to
do,
enjoy
every
minute
of
it,
not
just
chase
the
money,
love
what
you
do.
You
only
have
a
lot
of
time
to
enjoy
it.
I
I
guarantee
you
at
the
end
of
your
life,
you're,
not
going
to
regret
failing
that
one
math
test
or
losing
that
championship
match
you're,
going
to
regret
the
time
you
didn't
spend
with
your
mom
dad
brother,
sister
or
friend,
as
a
reminder,
when
you're
in
college
or
in
the
military
or
having
time
off
from
work,
call
your
mom
your
dad
or
that
friend
you
haven't
seen
in
three
years.
You
never
know
what
tomorrow
will
bring,
don't
let
a
missed
call
leave
with
with
regrets,
as
we
all
transition
from
the
confines
of
our
school
and
homes.
I
E
E
Ladies
and
gentlemen,
you
are
requested
to
refrain
from
loud
expressions
and
celebrations
for
individual
graduates,
such
as
suppressions,
frequently
to
track
from
the
recognition
due
to
the
next
graduate
in
line
guests
will
not
be
allowed
on
the
main
floor
of
the
Coliseum
professional
photographers
have
been
retained
to
photograph
your
graduates.
Your
cooperation
is
respectfully
requested
and
greatly
appreciated.

J
J
K
K
I
have
verified
with
your
faculty
in
administration
that
you
have
met
the
requirements
for
a
high
school
diploma.
Therefore,
by
the
power
invested
in
me
by
the
state
of
South
Carolina
and
the
Berkeley
County
Board
of
Education
I
do
hereby
certify
these
diplomas
and
pronounce
you
graduates
of
Timberland,
high
school
and
the
state
of
South
Carolina
foreign.
E
Class
of
2023,
we
have
one
final
tradition
to
celebrate.
As
I
said,
the
thing
of
the
tassel
marks
your
transition
from
child
to
adult
your
movement
from
the
past,
to
the
Future,
your
determination
to
pursue
your
dreams.
It
is
a
symbol
of
all.
You
have
accomplished
of
your
commitment
to
make
the
most
of
your
lives
to
come
class
of
2023.
Please
adjust
your
tassels.
E
L
As
our
Timberland
High
School
2023,
graduation
ceremony
ends,
I
would
like
to
leave
you
with
this
quote
from
Mark
Twain
20
years
from
now.
You
will
be
more
disappointed
by
the
things
you
didn't
do
than
by
the
ones
you
did
do
so,
throw
off
the
bow
limes
sail
away
from
the
Safe
Harbor
and
catch
the
trade
winds
in
your
sales,
explore
dream
and
discover
what
I
took
away
from
this
quote
is
that
we
should
not
be
afraid
to
live
our
lives
and
take
chances.
L
Lives
filled
with
great
opportunities,
but
we
miss
a
lot
of
them
because
of
fear
and
pressure.
So
I
challenge
all
of
you
to
take
chances
in
your
life.
Do
things
that
you
never
thought
you
would
do,
because
life
is
short
and
fear
is
only
temporary
and
regret
is
forever
take
chances
in
life.
Everyone.
Thank
you,
foreign.
