A
We
are
safe,
we
are
so
honored
and
privileged
this
morning
to
host
the
mayor
and
our
Community
Partners,
and
all
of
you
just
a
few
words
for
those
of
you
who
don't
know.
I
said
this
earlier
Bagley
it
was
founded
in
1980
and
and
over
the
last
43
years
we
have
provided
a
range
of
programs
and
services
led
by
and
for
lgbtq
Youth,
and
now
we
are
the
oldest
and
largest
Youth
Organization
in
Massachusetts
and
one
of
the
longest
standing
in
the
nation.
We
have
expanded
our
services
significantly.
A
So
the
the
Genesis
of
this
is
that
it's
in
partnership
with
Arnold
Worldwide,
which
is
one
of
bagley's
corporate
sponsors
and
long-time
committed
supporters,
and
they
worked
with
young
people
and
staff
to
create
what
they
call
the
closet
experience,
which
is
an
opportunity
for
young
people
to
reflect
on
on
their
identities
and
their
coming
out
processes
whatever
that
means
for
them
and
and
really
represent
that
with
clothing
or
or
in
other
ways
that
that
captures
that
experience.
A
This
was
debuted
at
Massachusetts
Youth
Pride
last
year,
and
then
we
moved
it
into
our
community
center.
So
that's
that's
our
backdrop
and
speaking
of
Massachusetts
Youth
Pride
Massachusetts
Youth
Pride
was
founded
in
1995
by
the
former
Governor's
Commission
on
lgbtq
youth.
Then
it
was
transitioned
to
community-based
organizations
and,
most
recently
to
Bagley,
and
so
we've
been
working
with
the
community
to
host
Massachusetts
Youth
Pride
every
year.
We
did
it
virtually
during
during
the
pandemic
and
then
last
year
we
returned
to
in
person,
and
this
year
it
will
be
in
two
days.
A
So
if
you've
seen
all
the
boxes
and
clutter
around
the
space,
we're
getting
ready
for
Massachusetts,
Youth,
Pride,
29th
annual
I
think
and
it
will
be
on
Saturday
and
registration
is
still
open
for
young
people.
So
certainly,
if
you
know
any
young
people
encourage
them
to
sign
up,
we
are
expecting
a
great
day
of
performers
and
resource
tables
and
networking
and
Community
led
by
and
for
young
people,
and
on
that
note,
I
would
like
to.
A
It
is
my
great
honor
and
privilege
to
introduce
a
long
time
supporter
of
Bagley
and
and
the
LGBT
community
lgbtq
communities,
mayor
Wu
and
in
fact,
somewhere.
We
have
a
picture
of
the
mayor
four
and
a
half
years
ago,
when
this
space
was
a
rod,
an
unbuilt
out
space,
and
she
was
the
president
of
the
Boston
city
council
and
came
here
with
one
of
our
pink
hard
hats
to
see
the
space
she's
been
back
since,
and
so
we're
very
welcome
glad
to
welcome
you
today
and
we
have
a
gift
for
you.
B
Good
morning,
everyone
I
would
add.
This
is
a
space
that
really
is
the
embodiment
of
so
many
dreams
and
such
vision
from
from
years
ago.
The
move
now
almost
five
years
ago,
represented
a
an
affirmation
that
every
one
of
our
young
people
are
lgbtq
youth
deserved
and
should
be.
B
You
know
right
in
the
center
of
the
city,
with
the
spaces,
the
services,
the
programming
to
be
able
to
build
community,
and
so
I
want
to
thank
Grace
and
Neil
and
everyone
from
Bagley
on
the
board
and
and
the
team
who
really
made
sure
that
that
was
always
moving
forward,
even
in
some
really
challenging
times
as
the
pandemic
hit,
and
this
was
always
a
priority,
and
not
only
has
the
space
now
been
officially
opened
and
made
home,
but
then
expanded
and
doubled
and
I
feel
like
next
time
we
come
back.
B
So,
thank
you
for
your
leadership
and
I
also
add
I
thought
when
Grace
was
going
to
talk
about
the
backdrop
this
it's
incredible
art
installation
that
is,
is
such
a
powerful
again
representation
of
people
and
stories
and
and
families
that
are
impacted
and
how
important
it
is
for
Massachusetts
and
Boston
to
be
a
a
bulb
work
on
the
front
lines
in
a
moment
of
rising
hay
with
so-called
leaders
across
the
country,
even
going
so
far
as
to
legislate
and
codify
the
the
hatred
in
their
hearts.
B
We
we
are
going
to
stand
firm
and
make
sure
that
we
continue
to
push
even
further
here,
but
in
addition
to
that
art
installation.
Our
backdrop
here
is
the
incredible
leadership
of
so
many
organizations.
Folks
who
I
have
had
the
honor
and
humbling
privilege
to
serve
alongside
in
city
government
in
in
public
service
in
service
to
the
community.
So
I
just
want
to
give
a
shout
out
to
the
many
organizations
and
many
communities
who
are
represented
here
and
thank
you
to
to
our
living
back.
C
B
Here
as
well
for
all
that,
you
do
you'll
hear
shortly
from
our
chief
of
equity
and
inclusion,
Maria
Solis,
Severa
you'll
hear
from
Adriana
from
Boston
Pride
for
the
people
from
our
incredible
partner
in
State
Rep,
some
Sam
Montano,
and
so
we
thank
them
for
all
all
that
you
do
every
day.
B
This
is
40
years
in
the
making
to
be
here
with
Bagley,
and
it
feels
like
the
time
is
just
right,
because
so
many
queer
youth
are
being
pushed
to
the
edges
and
and
across
the
country
to
spaces
where
it,
it
seems
like.
We
had
moved
Beyond
and
so
I'm
really
glad
to
be
here
with
a
team
who
have
been
fighting
for
a
long
time
and
who
believe
and
are
taking
action
every
day
for
everyone
to
be
part
of
this
new
coalition.
B
When
that
centers
and
celebrates
the
full
range
of
experiences
and
identities
across
the
lgbtq
plus
Community,
a
coalition
that
understands
the
importance
of
a
loving
affirming
family
and
is
committed
to
being
that
family
for
every
one
of
our
lgbtq
residents
here
in
Boston
and
the
Commonwealth
of
all
ages.
This
is
a
coalition
that
knows
their
good
days
and
bad
days
and
is
there
for
our
family
for
all
of
those
days.
B
Today
is
a
good
day,
because
we
have
a
number
of
exciting
announcements
about
Pride
this
year
in
Boston
and
we're
thrilled
to
have
Bagley
hosting
us
to
to
launch
these
first
I'm
really
really
excited
to
be
here
and
thank
Boston
Pride
for
the
people
to
that.
The
Boston
Public
Health
commission
will
be
an
official
partner
in
Boston
Boston
Pride
for
the
people,
and
this
year's
events
and
our
chief
will
say
a
little
bit
more
about
that
partnership
in
a
little
bit
at
the
city.
B
So
last
year
our
Administration
began
tackling
the
process.
There
are
many
ideas
out
there.
Many
events
that
people
are
dreaming
up
in
their
in
in
spaces
and
Coalition.
But
then,
when
you
encounter
the
actual
permitting
process,
it
has
become
quite
frustrating
and
so
we're
tackling
that
to
streamline
and
improve
that
process.
This
year
we
also
have
dedicated
staff
members
to
help
guide
folks
through
that
process,
the
the
shortened
and
streamlined
process-
and
we
also
debuted
block
party
kits
to
make
organizing
your
own
event
easier
than
ever.
B
So
this
my
this
pride
month
we're
inviting
the
lgbtq
plus
Community
across
all
our
neighborhoods
to
check
out
boston.gov
block
party.
All
one
word
to
hosts
a
pride
event
on
your
very
own
block,
we're
looking
forward
to
an
amazing
month
of
queer
Community,
Connection
and
celebration
and
deepening
our
Partnerships
with
the
incredible
Coalition
of
organizations
here
in
Boston.
Okay,
now
before
I
pass
it
on
just
we
want
to
make
sure
all
of
our
press
conferences
are
as
accessible
as
possible.
C
C
D
I
can't
wait
to
tell
the
story
of
today
the
story
that
I
get
to
build
with.
All
of
you.
Thank
you
for
your
trust.
Thank
you
for
the
confidence
that
you've
had
in
us
and
thank
you
for
your
partnership.
This
wouldn't
be
possible
without
every
single
one
of
you
today,
and
thank
you
to
our
mayor
for
always
believing
in
in
the
wild
ideas
that
you've
been
hearing
for
a
while
from
our
community
from
the
Grassroots
communities
and
some
of
the
ideas
that
our
staff
has
had
and
here's
one
of
them.
D
So
my
name
is
Marie
Anjali
I,
usually
her
pronouns
I
am
the
chief
of
equity
and
inclusion
and
I
want
to
start
off
by
thanking
the
team
at
Bagley
for
everything
that
you
have
done.
I
finally
got
a
tour
and
I
am
so
grateful
that
our
young
people
have
access
to
a
place
like
this.
Such
a
welcoming
and
loving
space.
D
So,
thank
you
and
I
also
want
to
just
name
a
few
of
the
folks
that
are
here
I'll,
be
saying
some
of
the
names
of
the
organizations,
because
I
need
everyone
to
know
who
they
are
because
they're
not
going
anywhere
we'll
start
off
by
Bagley.
Obviously
the
host
organization
and
we
have
folks
from
Urban
Pride
present.
D
We
have
folks
from
Boston
Pride
for
the
people,
portraits
of
Pride
lgbtq,
plus
senior
housing,
The
Pride,
trans
resistance,
men
of
melanin,
Magic
Road
of
rainbows
lesbian
nightlife
Boston
got
next
lgbtq
nightlife
Beats
by
girls,
Boston,
proud,
Massachusetts,
transgender,
political
coalition,
trans
emergency
fund
and
I
hope.
I
did
not
miss
anybody,
and
many
more
that
are
potentially
not
here
today.
D
So
I
want
to
know
that,
while
we
are
here
to
announce
the
multiple
events
that
are
happening
in
June
for
Pride,
we
in
this
Administration
in
the
city
of
Boston
are
committed
to
celebrating
us
365
days
throughout
the
year
and
thinking
about
policy
thinking
about
programming
and
resources
that
our
community
has
for
a
very
long
time
asking
for
been
asking
for.
So
on
a
few
items
on
a
policy.
D
As
the
mayor
said
during
the
month
of
Pride,
our
Boston
Public
Health
commission
will
be
partnering
with
pride
for
the
people
to
ensure
that
we
are
educating
and
doing
Outreach
in
our
communities
to
make
sure
that
we
are
talking
about
empox
as
well
as
STIs,
so
that
we
are
doing
vaccinations.
D
Etc
public
health
is
essential
in
everything
that
we
do
and
when
it
comes
to
programming.
We
have
we're
really
excited
to
announce
our
inaugural
amplify
GSA
Summit.
That
will
be
kicking
off
this
Sunday
for
those
of
you
who
are
curious,
whether
you
are
a
family
member,
an
adult
in
the
life
of
a
young
person
or
a
young
person
yourself
who's,
part
of
the
lgbtq
community.
We
invite
you
to
visit
boston.gov
lgbtq
to
learn
more
about
this
Summit.
D
It's
an
opportunity
for
us
to
build
community,
but
also
to
learn
more
about
the
resources
that
exist
throughout
the
city
on
how
to
access
issues
on
around
housing,
sexuality,
Etc
and.
D
Last
but
not
least,
we're
very
excited
to
announce
that
very
recently,
we
launched
our
Beyond
Pride
Mini
grants
where
we
gave
150
000
to
over
25
organizations,
Grassroots
organization
that
have
been
doing
the
work
that
simply
needed
a
little
more
Capital
to
continue
on
their
innovative
ideas
to
connect
with
our
most
historically
excluded
residents
here
in
the
city
of
Boston,
and
with
that
I
want
to
thank
our
mayor's
office
of
lgbtq
advancement.
I
have
right
behind
me:
Julianne
Lee
donation,
Yancey
and
Candace
Wynn
for
the
amazing
work.
E
Morning,
everyone
good
morning,
it's
great
to
be
here.
My
name
is
Adriana
Bolin
I
use
the
pronoun
she
and
her
and
I
have
the
honor
of
representing
a
diverse
group
of
dedicated,
talented
and
passionate
individuals
that
are
working
really
hard
to
bring
our
pride
parade
and
Festival
here
back
to
Boston.
E
So
thank
you
all
for
allowing
me
to
be
here
to
share
a
little
bit
about
that
as
part
of
Boston
Pride
for
the
people
in
bringing
our
pride
parade
and
Festival
back,
it's
going
to
be
better
than
ever.
People
are
going
to
feel
included,
they're
going
to
be
able
to
access
our
events
and
we're
going
to
be
able
to
connect
and
respect
each
other.
E
Just
as
always,
the
pride
parade
is
going
to
be
the
second
Saturday
in
June
on
Saturday
June
10th.
First,
we
want
to
thank
the
mayor,
thank
you
so
much
and
the
mayor's
office
for
lgbtq
advancement.
Thank
you
all
for
your
help.
Just
throughout
the
year
in
our
planning
and
processing
our
continued
partnership,
much
appreciate
it
all.
Our
pride
parade
will
kick
off
at
11
A.M
at
Copley,
Square
and
we'll
March
all
the
way
to
Boston
Common.
The
festival
is
also
back
and
bigger
than
ever,
and
we
have
two
Festival
events
going
on.
E
Our
Festival
begins
at
12
and
includes
a
traditional
all
ages,
Festival
on
the
Boston
common
with
a
main
stage
and
a
21
plus
party
at
City,
Hall,
Plaza,
y'all
featuring
a
second
stage,
a
beer
garden
and
vendors.
The
mayor
and
the
governor
will
be
joining
us.
Maybe
we'll
see
them
dancing,
I,
don't
know
we'll
see,
and
there
is
still
time
y'all
to
register
for
the
festival
and
parade,
we're
still
accepting
registrations
for
tabling
the
tabling
area
of
the
festival
and
still
expect
accepting
registrations
for
organizations,
businesses
and
individuals
to
part
March
in
the
parade.
E
If
cost
is
an
issue,
please
please
please
reach
out
to
us
we're
ready
to
work
with
you
as
a
community.
We
want
you
there
and
we
got
you
in
being
there.
So
please,
let
us
know
if
you're
not
able
to
attend
not
able
to
afford
because
of
cost.
We
don't
want
that
to
be
a
reason.
Why
you're
not
able
to
celebrate?
We
are
going
to
have
an
amazing
time,
get
your
outfits
ready.
E
I,
don't
have
mine
ready
so
I'm
also
talking
to
myself
talking
to
myself
so
people,
let's
get
our
fits
ready,
because
it's
going
to
be
a
good
time.
There
are
events
all
throughout
the
month,
hosted
by
all
of
our
fabulous
partners
that
we
heard
about.
Please
give
another
round
of
applause
from
wherever
you're
watching
it's
gonna
be
amazing
month.
E
It's
going
to
be
amazing
season,
June
July
and
let's
keep
this
going
y'all
throughout
the
year,
Pride
65
everything
you
need
to
know
about
the
parade
and
Festival
will
be
on
our
is
on
our
website
bostonprideforthepeople.org,
and
we
just
can't
wait
to
celebrate
with
you
all
so
come
out
we're
excited.
Thank
you.
B
F
Am
so
so
I'm
Sam
Montano
I'm,
the
state
representative
for
the
15th
Suffolk,
which
is
primarily
Jamaica
Plain
and
a
little
bit
of
back
of
the
Hill
Jamaica
Plain,
is
where
we
house
all
the
queers
in
Boston
just
kidding.
They
live
everywhere,
we're
everywhere.
I
just
wanted
to
say
thank
you
to
the
mayor
and
to
all
the
folks
who
are
participating
in
this
process.
F
It's
been
pretty
sad
couple
of
years
systemically
in
the
percentage
of
folks
who
are
lgbtq
in
our
communities,
who
are
facing
a
lot
of
Oppression
throughout
our
country,
but
we
are
lucky
to
live
in
a
city
as
Progressive
and
ahead
of
the
game
as
as
Boston,
and
to
have
a
mayor
who's
willing
to
come
out
in
front
and
step
into
that
role
and
to
have
Chief
Equity
officers
and
to
have
a
whole
cabinet
dedicated
to
lgbtq
issues,
because
there's
a
lot
of
other
places.
F
There's
a
lot
of
other
legislators
who
are
trans
non-binary,
who
I'm
in
community
with
who
are
not
experiencing
the
same
love
that
we're
experiencing.
So
remember
that
when
we're
out
in
community
there's
a
lot
of
other
things
that
are
happening
and
as
joyous
as
the
celebration
should
be,
that
we
need
to
continue
to
show
up
for
each
other
across
the
year
and
in
every
other
capacity
as
possible,
because
we
are
our
greatest
Community.
We
are
chosen
family.
F
We
are
here
together
for
each
other
and
it
is
essential
that
we
do
the
fun
things
as
well
as
the
heavy
things
so
India.
