From YouTube: Boston Summer Eats Program Launch 2019
Description
At the Anna M. Cole Community Center in Jamaica Plain, the Mayor's Office of Food Access in partnership with Project Bread, The YMCA of Greater Boston, and Boston Children's Hospital launched the 2019 Boston Summer Eats Program. Boston Summer Eats provides free meals for youth 18 and under throughout the summer at their 100 locations in Boston.
A
Hello,
everyone
thank
you
for
being
here.
This
is
the
kickoff
event
for
the
summer
meals
at
the
City
of
Austin.
We
are
very
grateful
to
have
you
all
here.
This
is
a
very
important
program
for
the
City
of
Austin.
We
know
that
during
the
summertime,
there
are
many
families
who
can
not
fill
the
gap
of
the
son
of
the
moon
years
there
over
at
the
school,
and
this
is
the
way
that
we
are
talking
time
in
the
City
of
Austin.
A
We
know
that
our
kids,
there
are
no
well-filled
their
lack
of
food
and
during
the
summit,
and
this
is
the
way
that
the
city
of
Boston
is
tackling
this,
and
this
cannot
be
possible
without
partners
and
I'm
very
grateful
to
have
a
great
partner
working
with
that.
We
have
a
one.
You
see
I'm
a
very
bottom.
We
have
Boston
Public
Schools
project
brief.
We
all
have
the
same
nation
with
our
kids
help
people,
because
all
kids
are
used
in
the
city
of
Boston.
A
We
serve
a
healthy
life
and
happy
life
that
can
go
back
to
school
and
try
and
be
good
at
school
and
that
what
we're
doing
with
this
program,
I
wanna,
think
they
frozen
housing
authorities
for
having
us
here
and
talking.
These
great
events
I
want
to
thank
today,
water
company,
the
city
of
also
they're
here,
to
ride
in
this
body
and
all
the
sponsor
of
this
program
and
a
big
thanks
to
the
Children's
Hospital,
because
without
you
know
able
to
open
32
new
open
sites
in
the
team.
A
The
meals
that
they
deserve,
that
they
need
and
anyone,
and
also
thank
you
to
all
the
32
community
organizations.
They
are
posting
those
meals
without
them.
This
is
not
possible
and
I
know
that
commitment
and
they
need
to
see
the
community
stripe
is
making
that
happiness
to
12
is
that
finally,
I
wanna,
thank
like
she
14
years
for
his
leadership
or
for
our
workability
and
for
new
year,
was
putting
he's
making
kids
and
huge
priority
in
his
administration,
and
that
is
one
way
that
we
are
solving
that
and
making
them
all
our
tunity.
B
You
all
know
what
summer
eat
egg.
Do
you
recognize
sour
eat
for
my
three
males,
four
kids,
all
summer
long,
you
don't
have
to
show
them
anything.
You
can
scroll
down
your
name.
You
just
show
up
to
any
site
where
you
see
one
of
these
signs.
You
see
these
so
if
you
anywhere
in
the
city
of
Boston
come
and
you
can
get
a
meal
some
other
sites.
Just
so
you
know.
B
School
of
English,
hi,
Marco,
Hill
library,
white
I
am
at
Franklin,
Park
and
right
here.
Obviously,
at
the
community
center
we
provide
free
meal
and
also
a
lot
of
fun,
hopefully
you're
having
fun
with
the
activities
here
today.
Last
year,
12,000
kids
in
Boston
were
able
to
get
summer
meal
guess
what
this
year
we
want
to
get
even
more
so
we're
asking
your
help.
B
Kids
and
letting
all
of
your
friends
know
that
if
they
see
these
signs
that
you
are
in
the
city
of
Boston
to
come
on
out
and
have
a
free
summer
meal,
if
you
don't
know
where
please
check
out
here,
you
can
get
food.
You
can
visit
our
website
at
meals
for
kids
or
you
can
call
our
hotline
number
and
take
advantage
of
this
program
because
again
it's
free
food,
but
it's
also
a
lot
of
fun.
Finally,
I
want
to
thank
our
partners
from
the
mayor's
office
of
food
access.
B
C
D
C
Said
I
just
want
to
say
on
behalf
of
the
YMCA
of
Greater
Boston,
we
are
thrilled
to
be
a
sponsor
for
summer
food.
Last
year,
twelve
percent
of
the
meals
that
were
served
in
the
state
of
Massachusetts
were
served
in
our
Greater
Boston
sites.
We
have
85
sites,
including
this
site,
a
new
PHA
site
at
the
pol
community
center.
So
thank
you
bragging
the
Boston
Housing
Authority
for
allowing
us
to
pilot
some
sites
to
the
summer.
C
I
want
to
shout
out
to
area
net
project
bread
who
has
been
a
partner
with
summer
food
and
the
Y
for
15
20
years.
So
thank
you
very
much.
I
want
to
say
thank
you
to
a
party
martinez,
chief
of
health
and
human
services,
with
a
city
of
Boston,
the
Boston
Police,
because
I
know
they're
out
here
in
force
and
BHA
police,
and
we
have
a
new
partner
this
year
and
they
just
want
to
bring
them
up
for
a
minute,
I'm
John
from
heavenly
harvest,
just
to
say
hi.
C
They
have
brought
some
shelf-stable
meals
that
sit
on
your
shelf
for
18
months
at
our
health
that
are
healthy.
They
the
microwave
for
90
seconds,
and
you
can
taste
them
after
the
speaking
program
inside
so
I'm
John.
If
you
just
want
to
come
up
and
say
hi
and
what
what's
coming
up:
I'm,
Shelby
and
Bunnell
from
city
firstfruits,
they
are
our
vendor
that
provides
all
of
the
summer
food
meals
during
the
summer
and
last
summer
we
served
over
300,000
meals
in
the
summer
time.
C
C
F
Try
to
make
it
short,
we
just
want
to
thank
the
YMCA,
the
City
of
Austin
or
allowing
us
the
privilege
to
help
out
and
be
part
of
this
wonderful
program.
We
understand
how
important
it
is
for
everybody
to
have
access
to
healthier
food
options,
for
them
to
be
able
to
Isis
and
unfortunate.
They
aren't
supposed
to
get
limited
and
we're
limited
and
more
limited
when
budgets
are
cut
and
things
are
taken
away,
so
we're
here
as
a
support
system
for
every
child,
every
family,
anybody
that
needs
our
help
were
prepared
to
be
there
and
again.
E
E
D
Young
people
always
ought
to
do
nice
and
loud
I
just
want
to
thank
everyone
for
being
here
on
behalf
of
Mayor
Walsh
in
the
City
of
Austin.
Thank
you
so
much
for
being
here
for
today's
kickoff,
the
third
year
of
our
Boston
summer
eats
we
couldn't
do
without
the
partners
that
are
doing
amazingly
important
work
to
make
sure
that
no
young
person
goes
without
a
meal
of
the
summer.
D
We
know
a
lot
of
young
folks
are
able
to
get
their
meals
during
the
school
year,
but
not
a
lot
of
folks
can
do
it
during
the
summer,
so
we're
committed
to
doing
it,
whether
it's
with
our
partners
or
the
wives
yay,
whether
it's
through
the
Boston
Housing,
Authority
I,
think
we
may
have
missed
our
Boston
Public
Library
partners
that
are
also
doing
it.
Thank
you
for
that
work.
We
also
want
to
thank
Children's
Hospital
for
their
support
and
the
ongoing
effort
that
they
have
to
help
us
to
be
able
to
do
this.
D
I
can't
stress
it
enough.
The
mayor
cares
deeply
than
all
young
people
have
access
to
resources,
access
to
services
and
access
to
food
without
a
doubt,
regardless
of
what
did?
Could
you
live
in
what
neighborhood
you
live
in?
What
community
you're
in
all
Bostonians
should
have
this
access,
and
so
we're
excited
to
be
here.
We're
excited
to
be
able
to
once
again
as
thousands
of
meals
this
summer
and
to
be
able
to
partner
with
all
these
great
organizations
we're
all
so
excited.
D
At
this
summer
we
have
a
new
initiative
that
we're
working
on,
which
is
also
related
to
the
summer
meal
program,
which
is
our
mobile
meal
program.
Boston
summer
eats
to
go,
will
provide
meals
and
at
least
one
different
neighborhood
throughout
the
city.
Because
again
you
may
not
be
able
to
go
to
school.
You
may
not
be
able
to
go
to
community
health
center.
You
may
not
want
to
stand
outside
and
sweat
in
the
soup.
You
might
have.
D
Else
to
be
able
to
get
a
meal,
so
we're
gonna
make
sure
you
can
do
that
through
our
mobile
meals
program
as
well,
and
making
sure
that
you
can
partner
with
us
I'm
also
excited
and
had
the
opportunity
to
sort
of
talk
to
fill
some
of
our
our
BPS
partners
and
others
to
be
able
to
understand
some
of
the
work
that
they're
doing
and
I
was
excited
to
go
talk
to
John
and
Stuart
from
heavenly
harvest,
and
this
it
connected
to
the
initiative
with
the.
Why?
D
Because
we
need
more
people,
they're
going
to
give
back
to
the
community,
we
have
a
lot
of
folks
who
care
deeply
about
Boston
and
some
Anita.
You
all
thank
you
so
much
for
giving
back
to
this
initiative
a
round
of
applause
for
our
partners
that
are
helping
us
to
do
that.
I
greatly
appreciate
that
the
thing
I'll
leave
you
with
was
this.
The
wave
one
last
speaker,
but
I
want
to
make
sure
you
know
is
that
the
city
of
Boston's
committed
the
mayor's
office
of
food
access
lit
by
Catalina
and
her
great
team.
D
They
want
to
make
sure
that,
wherever
you're
at
wherever
you're
from
there
in
Boston,
that
you
can
access
these
resources
and
food
markets
and
small
shops
and
bodegas
to
make
sure
that
you
can
access
these
opportunities.
So
again,
thank
you
to
all
the
young
people
are
here
for
Boston
summaries.
They
give
it
a
whirl,
do
it
around
food
insecurity
and
ank
you
for
supporting
this.
On
behalf
of
the
mayor,
thank
you
for
supporting
this
important
work.
D
E
Good
afternoon,
good
afternoon,
I'm
great
day
with
some
of
the
special
assistant
to
the
administrator
mr.
bill
mechanical
and
on
his
behalf,
I
would
like
to
thank
the
mayor,
the
Projekt,
RED
YMCA,
Chief
Marty.
Thank
you
because
without
them
we
would
not
be
here
today.
They
have
a
strong
commitment
towards
making
sure
that
young
people
have
opportunities
not
only
to
do
recreational
and
others.
