William E. Carter Playground in the South End is getting a facelift! In a unique public-private partnership, Northeastern University and the City of Boston will build a state-of-the-art athletic complex that will expand recreation opportunities for both Northeastern students and Boston residents.

Thank you so much for being here today in this beautiful city of Boston public park, Carter playground. This park has deep meaning and we're really really looking forward to the the opening.

How to playground certainly is a transformative opportunity for the neighborhood there's going to be a 26 million dollar investment by Northeastern in this playground. This space is already a hub of youth activity from the South End and Roxbury neighborhood, say.

Have a responsibility here at Northeastern, the Commissioner said you're going to mow the lawn, but we're going to do more than mowing the lawn commissioner. We are going to create a path for the for the students for the young minds and from those schools and from all the communities.
