From YouTube: Billings Field Design Meeting #3 - April 25, 2023
Description
Boston Parks and their design consultant present the proposed design plan for Billings Field
A
Failed
and
I,
this
meeting
is
being
recorded,
so
if
you
want
to
participate
in
the
meeting,
if
it's
you
want
to
leave
your
camera
off,
that
is
totally
fine.
Anything
that
you
put
in
our
chat
counts
as
being
you.
A
In
the
meeting
so
just
to
let
you
know
we're
going
to
be
posting
the
recording
of
this
meeting
on
our
project
page
after
we
do
some
quick
edits
to
it
to
sort
of
fix
the
formatting.
So
that
should
be
up.
If
you
want
to
share
the
results
of
the
meeting
with
anyone
that
you
know
who
can't
make
it,
that's
why
we
do
it.
So,
thank
you
so
much
for
joining
us
tonight.
We
are
very
excited.
A
This
is
our
third
design
meeting
here
and
we
have
been
meeting
with
you
guys
over
the
last
six
months
meeting
with
you
on
an
individual
basis
to
get
better
understanding
of
the
different
programs
that
we're
talking
about
the
different
needs
that
you
guys
have
as
well
as
our
larger
group
meetings.
So
I'm
I'm
very
grateful
that
you
guys
have
all
been
participating
and
I
hope
that
the
design
that
we
share
tonight
aligns
with
what
your
expectations
are.
A
And
if
you,
if
you
disagree,
then
let
us
know
this
is
not
to
say
this
is
our
fixed
design
and
we're
going
forward
with
it.
This
meeting
is
intended
as
a
this
is
what
we've
heard
tell
us.
If
this
agree,
you
know
tell
us
if
we're
going
in
the
right
direction,
so
there
may
be
minor
adjustments
made
to
the
design
after
this.
If
there's
anything
significant,
we
would
potentially
set
up
an
additional
meeting
to
review
that,
but
again
I.
A
Just
thank
you
for
your
participation
thus
far,
and
let's,
let's
move
on
to
the
next
page.
A
Thank
you.
We've
got
some
Zoom
tips
here
during
the
presentation.
We
ask
that
you
keep
your
keep
your
microphone
off
and
I
think.
Actually
we
we
control
that.
So
once
we
get
to
the
part
of
the
presentation
during
the
Q
a
after
the
presentation,
you
raise
your
hand
and
then
Shauna,
who
is
here
tonight
with
the
parks
department,
Shauna
Dixon
will
allow
you
to
unmute
and
you
can
say,
share
your
thoughts.
You
can
also
share
your
thoughts
over
the
chat.
A
You
could
do
that
throughout
the
presentation.
If
there
are
simple
questions
that
we
can
respond
to
during
the
presentation
we
will
otherwise,
we
will
table
some
of
those
comments
to
address
later
on
during
the
chat.
So
if
we
go
on
to
the
next
slide
here,
we
are
our
agenda
for
tonight.
So,
project
team
and
project
goals
are
what
we're
going
to
address
first
and
then
we're
going
to
go
into
what
we
heard
at
meeting
one
and
meeting
two.
These
are
sort
of
the
the
reasons
we've
made
this
design.
A
A
Project
team
and
goals-
so
I
am
here
tonight
with
Matt
Sewell,
Melissa
green
and
Yuan
Bing
Wang,
who
are
all
from
Weston
Samson
Design
Studio.
They
do
a
lot
of
work
with
the
parks
department
and
they
are
a
great
team.
So
I
am
B.
Chatfield
works
department,
project
manager
and
there
is
my
contact
information.
A
If
you
also
have
any
questions
tonight
specifically
for
me,
you
can
just
put
that
in
the
chat
as
a
direct
message
and
I
will
try
and
get
back
to
you
as
soon
as
I
can.
So
if
we
move
on
next
slide
here
is
our
project
schedule.
So
we
had
our
first
meeting
in
October
of
2022,
where
we
shared
our
site
analysis,
and
we
heard
some
interesting
tips
and
suggestions
from
you
guys.
We
followed
up
with
a
survey
after
that,
where
we
had
a
huge
number
of
participants.
A
In
February,
we
shared
a
few
Design
Concepts
and
we
discussed
those
at
that
meeting,
and
here
we
are
in
April,
assuming
we
have
a
good
enough
Direction
with
this
plan.
We're
going
to
be
developing
it
into
contract
documents,
which
is
basically
CAD
drawings
in
September.
We
would
go
into
permitting
and
then
we
would
look
to
start
construction
on
the
project
in
summer
of
2024.
This
would
allow
spring
Sports
to
have
their
season
and
the
core
of
road
race,
which
we
understand
is
a
pretty
big
Community
event.
A
That
would
happen
in
June
and
shortly
thereafter
we
would
be
closing
it
off
for
construction,
it's
a
large
site,
so
it
could
take
up
to
a
year.
So
at
some
point,
hopefully
early
summer
2025
we
would
anticipate
the
park
to
be
opening.
A
So
next
slide.
Please
here
we
are.
This
is
one
of
our
favorite
slides.
This
shows
all
of
the
priorities
we're
trying
to
balance
when
we
do
a
capital
project.
We
have
our
own
city
of
Boston
priorities,
which
includes
trying
to
improve
accessibility,
trying
to
create
a
broad
variety
of
programming
across
our
Parks
system.
A
You
know
many
other
things
like
that.
We've
got
safety
and
Regulatory
guidelines
which
we
try
and
comply
with
at
all
times,
Community
input,
which
is
what
we
are
doing
tonight,
our
own
separate,
Parks
and
Recreation
goals,
which
really
align
with
the
city
of
Boston
priorities
as
well,
just
more
specific
to
parks,
and
then
we
bring
all
of
those
influences
together
and
we
ask
the
designer
to
design
with
those
in
mind.
So
next
slide.
Please.
C
Great,
thank
you.
B
appreciate
it.
My
name
is
Matt
Soule,
just
to
remind
you,
I'm
the
project
manager
for
the
project,
so
we're
going
to
walk
through
just
a
couple,
quick
diagrams
that
we
showed
at
the
beginning
of
the
first
meeting.
C
This
is
a
programmatic
sort
of
analysis
of
of
the
field
as
it
exists
today
we
were
just
identifying
access
points
and
circulation
routes,
and
so
the
big
takeaways
for
us
when
we
looked
at
it,
was
the
overlapping
Fields,
especially
the
overlapping
softball,
the
lack
of
shade
and
then
the
lack
of
access,
sort
of
accessible
entries
really
only
having
I
think
the
one
accessible
entry
at
the
that's
in
the
playground
and
and
then
oh
also
that
the
there
was
not
a
continuous
loop
path.
C
So
then
we
had
arborists
go
out
and
assess
the
trees,
and
so
we
we.
This
is
an
initial
assessment,
and
this
these
proposed
removals
will
be
verified
by
the
city
of
Boston
arborist,
as
we've
noted
here.
So
this,
the
brown
trees
were
identified
as
dead.
The
red
trees
are
identified
as
in
poor
condition
and
there's
a
couple
other
trees
that
we've
identified
for
removal
that
you'll
see
later
in
that
it
would
be
removed
as
part
of
the
design.
C
In
order
to
create
two
plazas
in
this
corner
and
to
create
an
accessible
entry
in
this
corner,
we
would
we
would
remove
that
tree,
but
these
are
all
again.
These
are
all
pending
assessment
of
the
City
Arborist
and
then
you'll
see
in
the
design
that
we're
proposing
to
replace
to
plant
far
more
trees
than
we're
taking
down
and,
at
the
end,
we're
happy
to
talk
more
about
about
that.
C
So
this
these
are
the
two
Design
Concepts
that
were
presented
at
the
the
second
meeting,
so
we
had
an
option
with
a
an
entry
Plaza
and
street
hockey
rink,
and
we
looked
at
creating
a
plaza
here
with
a
splash
pad,
and
so
this
was
you'll
see.
A
lot
of
this
was
carried
forward
from
this
design.
The
idea
of
a
sort
of
wooded
Plaza
at
both
ends,
but
the
the
fields
layout
was,
was
just
not
sort
of
Ideal
and
so
you'll
see
that
that's.
C
This
is
not
the
the
field
layout
we
went
with
and
then
the
other
option
we
had
we
had
talked
about
was
putting
potentially
putting
streak
hockey
rink
over
here
we've
heard
a
lot
of
support
for
a
street
hockey
rink.
C
We
also
had
discussed
an
enclosed
dog
run,
discussed,
discussed
it
at
the
last
meeting
and
I
think
the
general
consensus
was
that
an
enclosed
run
is
not
preferable
and
it
takes
up
too
much
space.
One
thing
that
we've
we've
heard
consistently
is
that
folks,
like
the
sort
of
openness
of
the
of
the
park
as
it
stands,
so
not
not
cutting
into
that
with
fencing.
C
And
I,
then
there
was,
and
then
there
was
a
this.
So
in
this
version
there
was
a
splash
pad
thought
of
maybe
a
splash
pad
at
this
end
and
then
some
sort
of
water
play
at
this
end,
and
so
we
did
try
and
have
water
elements
at
both
corners
of
the
park,
one
because
the
Y
is
at
this
corner
and
then
obviously
the
playground
being
at
this
corner,
so
design
considerations
that
we've
heard
from
everybody,
so
big
big
one
improve
the
drainage.
C
You
won't
see
that
on
the
drawings,
but
that
is
that
will
be
sort
of
infrastructure
that
we
will
add
as
we
move
forward
accessibility
throughout
the
park,
you'll
see
that
we've
we've
worked
to
make
accessible
entries
at
all
the
at
almost
all
the
corners
repair,
the
Bellevue
stairs
and
add
a
bike
ramp
along
the
side
of
it.
So
people
can
bring
bikes
up
and
down
the
stairs
easier,
provide
Gathering
space
right
now.
C
There's
no
formal
Gathering
space
in
the
park
update
the
playground,
but
not
completely
replace
it
and
we've
we've
talked
with
the
playground
manufacturer,
and
that
seems
very
easy
to
to
update
it
in
place.
Lighting
improvements,
General
ball,
Field
improvements,
so
the
Babe
Ruth
field
would
remain
in
its
current
location.
C
C
It
does
work
in
its
current
location
and
we
did
replace
the
Little
League
field
with
a
softball
field,
so
adding
a
new
street
hockey
rink
a
new
Splash
Pad,
a
water
element
adjacent
to
the
to
the
playground
and
then
maintaining
the
open
feel
of
the
park
which
I
mentioned,
but
also
providing
bathroom
access,
and
so
that
that
will
be
an
ongoing
coordination
within
parks
to
to
make
the
bathroom
within
the
building
more
accessible.
C
The
building
is
currently
not
part
of
this
project,
but
we
understand
that
it's
a
priority,
and
so
that's
we're
that's
on
our
list
for
to
coordinate
as
part
of
this
project
coordinate,
the
I
should
say,
coordinate
the
program,
not
the
physical
building
itself.
C
So
this
is
the
I'll
show
you
the
the
concept
here
and
again
it's
it's
a
concept,
so
all
the
pieces,
we
think
all
the
pieces
are
landing
in
the
right
places,
but
there's
still
plenty
of
room
for
feedback
plenty
of
room.
For
is
this
too
big,
too
small,
so
I'll,
there's
the
Babe
Ruth
field,
we'll
start
in
the
Middle
With
The
Babe
Ruth
field,
staying
where
it
is
providing
for
a
300
foot,
softball
field,
and
then
the
we
felt
that
it
was.
C
Then
there's
an
entry
Plaza
that
all
we
can
go
we'll
go
into
more
detail.
We
have
a
blow
up
plan
of
that
a
picnic
area
with
misters
down
here
next
to
the
playground
and
then
going
around
the
sides.
This
is
a
street
hockey
rink.
So
it's
and
you'll
see
we
have
we'll.
We
have
a
blow
up
of
that.
So
that's
sort
of
set
down
it's
it's
a
couple
feet
above
the
fields,
but
it's
still
below
Sturgis
Street
and
then
we're
redoing.
C
One
of
the
tennis
courts
sort
of
pulling
it
off
the
this
spine
of
the
others
to
allow
for
the
path,
a
circuit,
a
circuit
path
to
come
through
and
around,
and
then
there's
a
plaza,
there's
two
plazas
at
the
other
end
and
we'll
we'll
sort
of
walk
through
the
grading
there,
and
essentially
we
in
order
to
create
these
flat
spaces.
This
is
a
series
of
stairs
and
we
had
to.
We
also
needed
the
walls
to
create
in
order
to
create
enough
grades
so
that
the
this
path
is
accessible.
C
So
this
is
an
accessible
route
from
the
the
parking
lot
now.
Currently,
this
walk
is
not
it's
too
Steep
and
it's
not
accessible
so
and
and
then
coming
around
the
other
side.
So
this
is
a
accessible
ramp
up
to
Quinn
way
on
this
side
and
then
we're
using
walls
back
at
this
Plaza
to
create
flat
enough
grade
to
make
these
walks
accessible,
coming
on
either
side
of
this
space.
C
So
excuse
me
so
we're
just
gonna
just
to
take
a
step
back,
so
you
understand
how
we
landed
on
some
of
these
elements.
So
this
these
were.
The
this
entrance
was
too
steep.
Coming
coming
from
the
stairs
this
entrance
was,
is
currently
stairs,
obviously
not
accessible.
C
This
entrance
was
too
steep
this
the
grade
here
cuts
into
the
or
intrudes
into
the
field,
so
that,
as
the
foul
line
reaches
the
the
tennis
courts
are
sort
of
going
up
and
then
so
and
then
this
Arrow
here
just
indicates
so
here's
where
we're
we're
pushing
grade
out
we're
going
to
pull
grade
in
here
to
accommodate
the
field.
We
have
to
push
grade
out
sort
of
lengthen.
This
make
this
flatter.
I'm
gonna
make
this
flatter
and
we
have
to
make
these
flatter
in
order
to
make
it
all
accessible.
C
C
We
add
a
wall
here
so
that
the
field
is
flat.
Then
we
add
a
wall
here
to
contain
the
grade
up
here
and
then
we
add
walls
on
either
side
here.
In
order
to
be
able
to
flatten
out
the
the
walk
going
down,
so
these
these
walls
are
are
all
the
these
walls
are
all
part
of
accessibility
so
necessary
as
part
of
making
these
routes
accessible
the
same
here,
these
walls
were
necessary
as
part
of
accessibility.
So
then
the
next
the
next
idea
is
well.
C
If
you
have
to
put
the
wall,
you
have,
if
you
need
the
walls,
so
we
introduced
these
flat
spaces
with
a
picnic
shelter
for
use
by
the
Y
and
for
summer
camps
and
adjacent
to
the
courts,
create
a
flat
space
here
for
a
splash
pad,
create
a
flat
space
within
the
Walls
Within
These
Walls
here
for
event,
space,
slash
picnic
area
and
then
push
the
grade
out
here
to
create
enough
a
flat
space
for
the
for
the
hockey
rink
street
hockey,
and
then
we
use
the
slopes
adjacent
to
them
for
seeding
on
the
slopes,
these
blue
boxes
here
and
then
we
have
additional
bleachers
at
the
softball
fields.
C
So
then,
after
those
flat
spaces
after
we've
figured
out
where
the
flat
spaces
are
going,
these
plazas,
we
link
them
all
with
these
Loop
paths
so
the
there.
So
you
can
have
a
small
inner
loop
just
around
the
fields
or
you
can
have
an
an
outer
loop,
walk
sort
of
really
around
the
perimeter
of
the
of
the
fields.
C
Which
brings
us
back
to
the
the
overall
plan,
we're
gonna
and
we'll
walk
through
a
couple
blow-ups
of
some
of
the
areas
that
we
we've
been
talking
about.
So
the
here's,
a
section:
here's
the
the
entry
Plaza
off
of
LaGrange
with
a
section.
So
this
is
concept
and
again
we're
looking
to
hear
from
you
about
the
scale
of
the
space
the
use
potential
uses
of
the
space.
C
You
know
this
is
not
the
final
Design
This
is
how
this
is
one
idea
of
of
how
this
Plaza
could
be
oriented
and
so
we'll
be
curious
to
get
your
thoughts
on
the
layout
of
the
trees
is
20
feet
on
Center,
so
we're
coming
down,
there's
trees
on
the
on
this
flat
flat,
Landing
here
and
then
trees
within
Paving
here.
So
the
idea
is
that
you
could
have
a
small
event
on
the
paved
Plaza
or
you
could
have
a
larger
event.
C
That
would
incorporate
that
where
people
could
fill
this
entire
Grove,
you
know
and
use
the
lawn
and
then
there's
then,
when
there's
not
a
full
event
on
there's
areas
for
people
just
to
sit
on
the
steps
or
to
to
sit
in
the
shade
or
on
the
lawn.
C
You
know
just
to
hang
out
and
there's
some
picnic
tables
so
we're
trying
to
we're
creating
a
large
space
but
breaking
it
up
with
Paving
so
that
it
it
can
have
smaller
uses
and
it
doesn't
it's
not
one
large
event
space
and
then
you,
you
can
see
in
the
background
here.
So
looking
we're
looking
in
this
direction
at
this
wall
here.
So
this
is
that
wall
in
the
background
with
the
path
going
down
behind
it,
and
then
we
have
accessible
ramps,
doubling
back
on
both
sides
into
the
paved
space.
C
And
then,
if
you
were
accessing
that
you
would
then
you
could
then
access
the
loop
path
on
these
paths.
So
this
is
an
opportunity
to
sit
and
and
look
out
at
the
ball
field.
In
this
instance,.
C
So
the
entry
Plaza
by
the
Y,
so
we
have
a
series
of
steps
leading
that
to
retain
grade
and
Lead
down
into
the
space
and
then
the
the
the
path
ramps
down
on
both
sides
of
the
plaza
here
and
you
can
access
on
you
can
access
the
Plaza
on
this
side
on
this
side,
aligned
with
the
walk
over
to
the
the
Y
parking
and
then
steps
down
again
to
another
flat
space,
and
currently
this
space,
as
it
is,
is
not
it's
over
five
percent
and
not
the
not
especially
accessible.
C
It's
mostly
lawn
also
the
pine
trees
that
are
there
that
I
do
like
them,
but
they
are
they're,
not
canopy
trees,
where
they're
up
high
and
they're
sort
of
providing
an
umbrella
they're.
These
sort
of
physical
round
trees
that
take
up
space
rather
than
sort
of
enclosed
space,
and
so
we
we
thought
this
space
could
be
better
used
if
those
pine
trees
were
removed
and
space
was
made
for
sort
of
gathering.
C
So
there's
a
there's,
a
smaller
shelter
here
and
a
larger
shelter
on
the
on
the
Upper
Terrace,
so
that
there's
there's
picnic
tables
but
then
also
other
events
can
happen.
Underneath
the
underneath
the
shelter
it's
not,
we
didn't
want
to
fill
it
with
picnic
tables
and
then
you
we
and
then
the
grade
continues
down
to
what
would
be
the
splash
pad.
C
So
the
last
area,
we'll
look
at
in
detail-
is
the
street
hockey
rink,
and
this
is
really
to
show
that
the
street
hockey
rink
would
be
below
would
be
about
nine
feet
below
Sturgis
Ave
so
that
it's
it's
not
at
it's.
It's
set
down
so
that
the
implanted
so
that
the
sort
of
additional
noise
of
a
street
hockey
rink
would
be
buffered
by
the
slope
and
by
the
plantings
and
then
we're
using
that
slope
as
a
spectator,
seating.
C
So
here
was,
these
were
we'll
run
through
a
couple
precedents
for
what
we
were
looking
at
for
these
plazas
for
the
this,
these
two
on
the
on
the
right.
The
idea
of
trees
and
Paving
was
especially
important
to
us.
Like
you,
some
in
order
to
have
a
large
event,
it's
helpful
to
have
Paving,
but
you
know
it.
C
We
would
it's
important
to
have
the
trees
in
the
paving.
So
it's
not
just
a
hot
open
space
and
then
thinking
this
image
up
here
is
sort
of
what
we
were
imagining
for.
Just
in
terms
of
the
structure
of
it,
a
small
Plaza
stepping
down
to
another
small
Plaza
was
seating
and
it
was
the
General
sort
of
idea
there
in
terms
of
the
grading
and
then
we
we
added
a
couple
ideas
of
what
the
shade
structures
could
be.
C
I
think
we,
we
would
also
look
at
a
closed
top,
especially
over
by
the
Y.
So
if
it
was
on,
if
there
was
a
day
where
it
was
raining,
the
kids
could
be
underneath
a
closed
top
roof
and
those
are
that's
the
general
precedence
and
then
the
last
precedent
is
the
water
feature.
C
So
a
couple
ideas
for
what
the
splash
pad
could
look
like
near
the
why,
whether
it's
more
of
a
fountain,
whether
it
actually
has
Play
Elements
Incorporated
in
it,
and
then
this
just
showing
what
we
had
in
mind
for
the
other
end
by
the
by
the
playground,
which
is
really
just
more
of
a
mister
and
which
the
kids
one
the
kids
can
play
with
play
in
it,
but
also
acts
as
a
cooling
station
on
really
hot
days
for
anybody
who's
on
the
fields
and
those
are
the
those
are
the
general
elements
that
that
comprise
the
concept
and
I
think
we'd
like
to
hear
from
you
and
what
questions
you
have
or
what
thoughts
you
have
at
this
point.
A
Thank
you
so
much
Matt.
That
was
super
helpful.
If
we
can
I
think
it
may
be
good
if
we
could
go
back
to
the
plan
and
just
have
that
on
the
screen,
so
that
people
can
refer
to
it.
If
they
have
specific
questions,
what
there
we
go,
that's
great
while
we
were,
while
you
were
doing
your
presentation,
there
were
a
couple
of
questions
that
came
up
in
the
chat
that
I
just
wanted
to
address
quickly,
and
then
we
can
go
to
people
raising
their
hands.
A
There
was
a
question
about
bathrooms
and
we
are
working
to
try
and
improve
accessibility
of
those
bathrooms
that
are
currently
existing
in
the
field
house.
That's
there
working
on
sort
of
a
way
of
of
understanding
and
predicting
how
we
can
control
the
doors
a
little
bit
more
effectively.
A
I
think
that
the
the
guy
who
has
been
working
there
for
many
years
has
been
very
helpful
and
very
effective,
and
we
would
look
to
you
know,
continue
to
engage
with
him
and
try
and
make
the
bathrooms
a
little
bit
more
open
for
General
use,
I
think,
because
that
was
something
that
we've
definitely
heard
throughout
this
entrances.
To
the
park
we
had
previous
obviously
I
think
looked
at
adding
an
entrance
on
Sturgis
Street.
A
The
grading
was
a
challenge
with
existing
trees,
and
we
also
figured
that
one
of
the
largest
changes
that
we're
proposing
right
now
with
this
plan
is
a
street
hockey
rink
and
so
given
its
location
right
here
on
Sturgis,
we
figured
if
we
added
an
entrance
on
Sturgis.
They
might
be
inundated
with
parking
traffic,
which
I
recognize
is
an
issue
around
the
entire
perimeter
of
the
park.
So
but
I
think
you
know
we
sort
of
figured.
A
It
would
be
perhaps
a
little
bit
easier
to
adjust
to
this
new
use
if
we
improved
the
other
inferences
and
tried
to
distribute
that
a
little
bit
more
evenly
power
at
the
event
space.
That
was
a
question
that
was
brought
up
in
the
chat
as
well.
So
it
seems
like
that
would
be
something
that
could
be
used
by
different
events.
A
So
we
could
add
a
power
source
street
hockey
concerns
about
surface
drainage.
We
would
definitely
be
figuring
out
how
that
slope
drains
around
the
court
underneath
the
street
hockey
Brink.
Sorry
not
report,
so
that
that
would
not
be
something
that
would
impact
it's
the
ability
to
use
it.
A
So
those
were
just
some
of
the
of
the
questions
that
people
had
so
I'm
going
to
open
it
up.
If
people
want
to
raise
their
hands,
we
can
also
continue
to
respond
to
the
chat
as
well
as
we
go,
but
I
want
to
share
the
air
a
little
bit
here.
D
Okay,
so
I
guess
we'll
go
with
Michael
Glidden.
First,
you
should
be
able
to
talk
now.
E
Hi
thanks
for
setting
us
up
first
of
all,
let's
really
appreciated.
I
have
two
questions.
The
first
you
guys
were
talking
about
the
the
lighting
they'd
be
putting
in
and
I,
was
just
wondering
if
there's
going
to
be
any
consideration
about
light
pollution
when
you
put
the
lights
in
in
terms
of
like
its
effect
on
wildlife
and
the
ability
to
observe
the
night
sky.
That
sort
of
thing-
and
the
other
thing
I
was
wondering
about-
is
the
whole
wooded
area.
E
I
remember
at
the
beginning,
you're
talking
about
a
bunch
of
either
dad
or
disease
trees
that
were
going
to
be
taken
out
and
I
was
wondering
if
anything
was,
if
there's
any
thought
about
what
you
would
be
doing
with
that
space
in
particular
I
know,
the
city
right
now
has
an
Initiative
for
creating
more
like
Urban,
like
agricultural
space.
E
Could
that
possibly
be
turned
into
some
sort
of
food
Forest
with
like
fruiting
trees
and
other
things
like
that
or
more
native
plantings,
and
what
would
happen
to
the
existing
trees
that
you
take
out
that
provide
a
lot
of
resources
to
the
local
wildlife?
Thank
you.
A
Thank
you
Michael,
just
quick
responses
there.
So,
as
far
as
the
lighting
goes,
we
would
be
replacing
the
field
lights
that
we
already
have
out
there,
many
of
which
are
old
and
no
longer
compliant.
So
we
would
be
using
LEDs
on
those
and
I
believe
they're
angled
to
reduce
their
night
sky
sort
of
intrusion.
We
are
going
to
be
adding
lighting
along
the
staircase,
as
we
have
heard
the
one
coming
from
Bellevue
we've
heard:
that's
a
real
safety
issue
there,
but
we're
not
adding
lighting
throughout
the
park.
A
That's
it's!
You
know.
Parks
tries
to
limit
our
increased
use
of
electrical
essentially
to
whenever
there
are
significant
desire
lines
like
going
to
the
T
entrance
or
something
like
that.
If
a
park
is
used
for
that
kind
of
thing-
and
we
don't
have
that
situation
here,
so
we're
trying
to
be
judicious
in
our
installing
installation
of
additional
lights.
A
I
guess
is
what
I'm
trying
to
say,
and
as
far
as
the
forested
area,
we
have
had
some
really
interesting
conversations
with
people
who
live
right
along
Bellevue
Street,
who
have
been
really
active
and
notifying
us
about
the
different
species.
And
you
know
bird
life
that
they
are
aware
of
that
exist
in
that
space,
and
so
we're
going
to
be
taking
out
the
dangerous
trees,
the
risk
you
know.
If
there's
anything
that
looks
like
it's
going
to
fall
and
cause
a
problem,
we
will
be
taking
that
out
and
as
much
as
possible.
A
We
may
run
into
a
limited
space
here,
but
putting
those
fell,
trees
parallel
to
the
slope
to
reduce
erosion.
There
trees
that
we
can
leave
upright
as
snags.
You
know
taking
off
dangerous
limbs,
then
we
would
cut
the
top
of
it
to
increase.
You
know,
microbial
activity
that
helps
it
break
down.
Woodpeckers
can
use
it
so
we're
working
with
our
Urban
wild
guys,
as
well
as
working
with
an
arborist
on
the
project,
to
try
and
really
sort
of
maximize
the
natural
benefit
of
this
area.
A
We
are
not
going
to
be
really
like
opening
it
up
for
human
use.
We
were
originally
exploring
like
installing,
maybe
some
Pathways
in
there.
F
A
Like
a
seating
area
and
looking
at
the
slope,
that's
existing
there,
it
would
really
cause
too
much
intrusion
in
the
area
and
causative
greater
erosion.
We
felt
so
that's
that's
our
approach
going
forward
with
that.
C
Well,
B
I
would
just
add
that
the
about
the
the
light
pollution
question
the
sports
Lighting
systems
have
come
a
long
way
and
they're,
even
though
they're
very
focused
now
so,
there's
there's
really
very
little
spill
from
them,
so
they
really
focus
on
the
on
the
fields
when
they're
on
foreign.
G
Hi
folks,
Dan
Hudson,
for
those
who
don't
know
me,
I,
am
the
mayor's
liaison
to
West
Roxbury
I
just
want
to
give
a
big
thanks
to
the
team
from
Parks
here
for
putting
this
together.
I
know
it's
been
a
long
time
coming
super
excited
to
to
hopefully
get
to
work
on
this
soon.
That
timeline
is
a
little
far
out,
but
you
know
we
still
got
plenty
of
plenty
of
work
to
get
done.
That
said,
I'm
gonna
throw
my
email
in
the
chat.
G
If
anybody
has
any
questions
that
aren't
answered
here
tonight,
please
feel
free
to
direct
them
to
me,
and
I
can
make
sure
that
I
get
in
touch
with
b
and
get
you
an
answer
on
these
super
excited
about
both
of
these
designs.
Super
excited
to
hear
from
folks
later
on
tonight,
I'm
just
gonna
give
a
quick
heads
up.
G
I
do
get
a
bounce
closer
to
seven,
so
we're
coming
up
against
it
here,
but
I'm
really
excited
and
super
thankful
for
the
team
from
parks
for
helping
out
on
this
one
and
getting
this
time.
Thank
you.
H
Hey
guys,
hey
B,
thanks
for
putting
together
this
meeting
question
for
you,
since
this
is
this
field,
is
also
besides
being
multifunctional.
There
are
a
lot
of
team
sports
that
play
at
Billings.
Will
there
be
my
I'm
trying
to
rephrase
my
question?
Will
there
be
any
storage
containers
put
on
site
for
like
I'm,
trying
to
reference
Garvey
as
an
example,
how
there
is
a
storage
container
for
Recreational
Sports
such
as
lacrosse
baseball,
other
activities?
H
Will
that
be
put
somewhere
on
site?
And,
if
so,
where.
A
That
is
a
good
question
and
I
honestly,
don't
recall
if
that
has
come
up
before
I'm
sure
people
that
I've.
If
we've
talked
about
it
before
I
apologize,
it
would
be
good
to
hear
it
sounds
like
it's
something
that's
desired.
A
A
Obviously,
like
the
bigger
the
better
kind
of
thing,
we
can't
we
can't
go
infinite,
but,
like
you
know
what
what
types
and
Rob
that's
super
helpful
talking
about.
What's
that
Garvey
I
could
take
a
look
at
that
because
I'm
I'm
independently,
not
aware
of
that
what
that
looks
like,
but
if
we,
if
we
can
fit
it,
it's
you
know,
I
think
that
it
would
help
improve
the
Sports
usage.
A
I
do
feel
like
there
is
some
storage
that's
available
in
the
field
house,
so
we
would
also
sort
of
want
to
balance
like
what's
available
with
what's
being
proposed.
But
please
email
me
if
this
is
something
that
you're
interested
in,
and
we
can
definitely
push
that
further
yeah.
H
I
think
that
was
the
other
other
side
of
my
question
was
now.
Obviously
the
question
came
up
for
terms
regarding
the
bathrooms:
will
there
be
better
accessibility
in
terms
for
that,
and
you
know
in
this
case
storage
in
that
in
that
case,
is
there
more
discussions
to
kind
of
happen
about
that?
Is
that
kind
of,
like
a
back
and
forth.
A
So
we're
going
to
be
trying
to
install
remote
access
doors
like
a
locking
mechanism
so
that
we
can
better
manage
the
hours
that
the
house
is
open.
The
field
house
is
open.
A
That's
you
know
a
work
in
progress,
and
you
know
I
I
just
want
to
reiterate
that
like
were
aware
that
you
know
the
bathrooms
have
been
maintained
through
present
time
in
a
very
helpful
way,
and
so
we
just
want
to
try
and
figure
out.
What's
the
best
way
to
deal
with,
you
know
allowing
more
use
of
the
bathrooms
and
potentially
the
storage,
so.
A
B
It
I'm
sorry,
you
got
it
the
second
time
hi.
Thank
you,
Lisa
Simons
and
I'm
from
I'm.
The
president
of
Parkway
girls,
softball
league,
first
of
all,
I
just
want
to
say
thank
you
to
everybody.
Who's
been
working
on
this
and
to
all
of
the
community
for
coming
in
and
talking
about
this
I
I,
it's
clear
that
you
guys
had
to
deal
with
a
lot
of
competing
and
different
kinds
of
requests
and
requirements,
and
I
just
really
wanted
to.
B
Thank
you
all
for
your
very
thoughtful
approach
to
trying
to
accommodate
so
many
different
use
cases.
I
think
you
guys
have
done
a
really
good
job
of
listening
and
I
really
do
appreciate
that.
Obviously,
there's
always
opportunity
for
feedback
and
I
I
have
a
couple
of
just
comments
and
thoughts.
So
first
I
would
just
Echo
what
Rob
said:
there's
definitely
a
need
for
storage
and
making
sure
that
their
spaces
for
keeping
things
like
bases,
quick,
dry
things
that
help
us
maintain
the
field
and
keep
it
usable
throughout
the
seasons.
B
There's
a
little
bit
of
a
challenge
and
I
did
put
this
in
the
in
the
comments
just
to
say,
like
with
the
overlap
between
the
larger
softball
field
and
baseball.
There's
obviously
going
to
need
to
be
some
coordination
around.
How
do
we
share
and
is
there
any
opportunities
to
tweak
anywhere
in
there
would
be
interesting
to
look
at,
but
I
really
do
again
appreciate
how
much
you've
thought
about
it.
B
The
other
question
that
I
had
was
really
around
lights
and
where
the
lights
would
be
placed,
would
both
softball
fields
and
baseball
fields
would
would
they
all
be
usable
at
night
or
or
where
do
we
go,
because
today
we
definitely
have
some
dead
spots,
which
present
some
safety
issues
for
for
the
girls
that
are
playing
at
night
and
not
just
the
girls
that
are
playing
at
night,
the
adults
that
are
using
that
as
well,
and
anyone
on
the
field
so
I'm
just
curious,
where
the
placement
of
those
lights
would
go.
A
B
The
last
thing,
I
would
say,
is
I
really
just
appreciate
the
idea
around
the
the
batting
cage
and
the
shaded
dugouts,
which
are
a
huge
Improvement,
we're
definitely
pulling
out
all
sorts
of
tents,
and
you
know
just
to
keep
the
girl
shaded
during
the
summer
and
and
the
shaded
trees
and
the
opportunity
for
the
events.
I
I
was
curious
about
the
Shaded
dugouts.
Is
that
like
fully
enclosed
is?
Was
there
I
know?
B
C
Yeah
well,
there's
a
a
product
that
we
use,
which
is
it's
essentially
it's
just
a
canopy
over
the
top.
So
it's
not
it
sort
of
enclosed
on
the
back
and
the
top,
but
not
on
the
sides
right.
A
Great
I
think
we
were
looking
at
the
ones
that
have
been
installed
at
Heinz
and
if
those
are
supported,
we
could
definitely
do
those,
and
then
we
just
want
to
be
clear.
We're
talking
about
the
Shaded
dugouts
and
not
the
like
picnic,
shade
structures
right.
Yes,
yes,.
B
C
C
The
one
thing
I
would
say
about
the
lighting:
is
it
we
in
order
to
sh
in
order
to
light
the
the
softball
field
here
like
we
would
not
be
proposing
polls
anywhere
here
right,
because
that
you
know
you
don't
want
someone
like
running
out
and
running
into
them,
so
sort
of
the
amount
of
runoff
that
you
need
from
the
field
would
be
taken
into
account.
C
So
you
know
polls
would
be
placed
along
the
along
the
foul
line
here
and
sort
of
you
know
at
the
edge
here
where
you're
sort
of
out
out
beyond
the
field,
and
they
have
a
pretty
good
thrown
thrown
out.
They
can
reach
pretty
far
so
that
you
can
put
a
pole
like
in
this
location
in
this
location
and
over
here
and
still
get
enough
light
into
the
center
of
the
field
without
needing
to
actually
place
a
pole
out
there.
That.
B
Would
be
really
exciting
and
I
also
just
want
to
comment
on
the
the
drainage
situation.
I
appreciate
you
got
how
much
you
all
have
taken
into
that
into
consideration.
It's
been
a
challenge,
obviously,
and
thank
you
for
for
trying
to
resolve
that.
J
Thank
you.
The
plan
looks
excellent,
really
really
impressed
so
great
job
and,
as
we
said
earlier,
it's
difficult
to
balance
all
these
things
that
I'm
really
impressed
with
what
you
guys
came
up
with
I
did
want
to
just
clarify
on
the
lights,
so
there
will
be
lights,
so
we
so
for
nighttime,
gameplay
right,
and
that
was
just
one
question
I'll
just
rattle
off
a
couple
here
and
let
you
guys
and
I'll
and
I'll
shut
up
and
let
you
answer.
J
The
second
is
the
the
wall
existing
wall
along
the
sort
of
trees
that
out
at
the
courts
that
was
pretty
high
in
spots,
and
it
has
not
the
greatest
railing
on
top
of
it
and
the
wall
on
the
Bellevue
Hill.
Sorry
in
the
Bellevue
Street
side
is
also
quite
old.
I
think
it
was
a
WPA
wall,
it's
been
there
for
a
very
long
time
and
the
condition
of
that
wall
is
also
I'm
wondering
if
there's
any
investigation
into
that,
because
it
seems
to
be
deteriorating
in
spots.
J
So
I'm
curious
about
that
back
section
and
it
was
mentioned,
the
trees
are
coming
down,
some
that
are
dead
and
dying
and
I.
Think
that's
a
great
thing.
J
J
So
it's
the
idea
to
sort
of
just
let
it
be
or
to
actually
try
to
go
in
there
and
manicure
it
a
bit
so
that
it's
a
better
looking
space
and
not
just
a
collection
of
trash
and
the
wall
on
the
bottom
and
the
top
of
that
area.
I
guess
I'm
most
curious
about
and
last
question
is
on
the
existing
structure,
where
the
bathrooms
are.
Why
isn't
that
part
of
this
plan?
J
Or
this
you
know
this
round
of
funding
or,
however,
that
may
be
addressed
going
forward
because
it
seems
like
now
would
be
the
time
to
address
that
building,
certainly,
and-
and
why
isn't
that
being
addressed,
that
may
have
been
answered
previously
in
another
meeting
that
I
missed
but
I'm
just
curious.
Thank
you.
A
I'm
gonna
jump
in
here,
so
is
your
question
just
so
that
I
understand
it
about
that
building.
Are
you
saying
that,
like
renovations
to
that
building
should
be
part
of
this
project
or
you're,
saying
that,
like
access
to
those
bathrooms
should
be
guaranteed
as
part
of
this
project.
A
J
Right,
thank
you.
Actually,
both
sorry,
you
had
it
right,
so
both
the
access
which
I
think
was
addressed,
but
but
also
what
what
is
the
plan
for
that
building
it
in
its
use?
I
know
that
it's
not
easy
to
Define,
because
it's
somewhat
functionally
obsolete,
but
just
curious.
Why
that
wasn't
part
of
the
overall
sort
of
thought
here,
because
this
looks
wonderful.
A
It
feels
like
that
yeah
I
can
address
that,
so
the
the
we're
trying
to
deal
with
the
access
to
the
bathrooms
as
part
of
this
project
with
the
remote
door,
opening
locking
scenario
as
far
as
renovations
to
the
building
Mass
General
law
is
we
have
it
our
availability
of
funding,
basically
like
the
parks
department,
can
do
Chapter,
30
39m,
which
basically
means
we
work
in
the
horizontal
realm,
and
if
we
want
to
do
adjustments
or
improvements
to
a
building
to
a
vertical
structure,
we
have
to
go
through
public
works
department,
public
facilities.
A
Department
excuse
me,
so
the
condition
of
the
building
is
is
okay
in
my
very
Layman
perspective,
but
it's
not
like
there
aren't
pieces
of
it's
falling
down,
which
is
usually
I
hate
to
say
it
when
we
address
repairs
for
other
buildings,
so
we
weren't.
We
weren't
aware
that
there
was
an
issue
with
that.
I
guess
is
my,
so
we
weren't
planning
on
allocating
funding
for
public
facilities
to
do
work
on
it.
A
So
as
far
as
the
walls,
we
have
taken
a
look
at
those.
We
have
not
hired
a
structural
engineer
to
do
an
assessment
of
those,
but
they
are,
they
seem
to
be
in
decent
condition
if
it
is
something
where
you
have
witnessed
conditions
that
are
concerning
that's
good
to
hear,
and
we
can
definitely
put
a
second
set
of
eyes
on
those
as
far
as
doing
sort
of
work
in
in
the
wooded
area.
A
You
know
we
we
can
do
some
like
invasive
removals,
because
there
there
is
certainly
a
lot
of
invasive
activity
in
there,
although
it's
actually
not
as
bad
as
you'd
think
like
there,
there
may
be
some
Atlantis
trees,
but
like
it's
not
as
far
as
the
tree
assessment,
it's
not
that
bad
and
I
actually
want
to
sort
of
redirect
the
conversation
here
for
a
second,
it's
come
up
in
the
chat
a
number
of
times
as
well,
about
trees
on
this
site,
and
a
few
people
have
been
talking
about
the
removal
of
the
pine
trees
over
by
the
YMCA
entrance
area.
A
A
You
know
that
was
something
where
it
seems
like
you
know,
we
could
provide
a
sheltered
area
for
sort
of
outdoor
workout
space
as
well
as
picnics
Gathering,
that
kind
of
thing,
but
this
is
a
good
conversation
to
be
having
at
this
point,
and
this
is
the
goal
of
trying
to
be
as
transparent
as
possible,
with
what
our
pre-removal
plan
is
and
if,
if
people
feel
like
those
trees
really
need
to
be
retained,
and
you
know
we
can
leave
out
those
leveled
Plaza
entry
spaces
and
maintain
those
trees
instead.
A
If
anyone
wants
to
weigh
in
on
that,
I
would
be
interested
in
hearing
that
so
but
it,
but
it
is,
it
is
a
balance
there
right.
So
if
we
maintain
those
trees,
it
does
limit
what
we
can
do
in
that
particular
space.
A
So
if
you
want
to
continue
calling
on
people
and
if
maybe
other
people
want
to
raise
their
hands
and
share
their
thoughts
on
that
or
if
you
want
to
keep
putting
it
in
the
chat
I'm
trying
to
pay
attention
to
both,
but
it's
a
little
intense.
So
oh.
C
B
there
was
Rob's
first
question
was
about
the
lighting
for
Night
play
and
that
I
mean
yes
right.
We
would
be
adding
lighting
for
for
evening.
Sports
play.
D
Okay,
next,
in
the
queue
is
Josh
Fontaine
go
ahead.
K
L
L
I
live
on
Maxfield,
Street
and
I,
often
walk
down
Bellevue,
so
I
I
am
concerned.
I
would
like
to
keep
as
many
of
the
trees
as
possible
because
they
they
buffer
or
the
light
effects
and
I
I
guess
I
would
like
to
know
more
as
well
about
what
the
timing
for
construction
is,
so
that
we
can
continue
as
many
activities
as
possible,
especially
if
there
are
changes
to
the
playground,
areas
and
I.
Think
the
issue
of
shade
is
really
important
and
I.
It
sounds
like
you're,
responding
to
it.
L
I
guess.
I
also
just
wanted
to
say
thank
you
again
for
paying
attention
to
the
stairs
that
are
connect
Bellevue
down
to
the
Y.
Anything
else
you
can
do
to
just
get
those
stairs
repaired
would
be
appreciated.
Their
I
don't
know
which
Department's
in
charge
of
repaving
those
stairs,
but
they
need
it
and
I've
seen
improvements
on
the
lighting
and
the
crosswalks
there.
So
it's
a
very
actively
used
staircase,
especially
since
there
isn't
an
entrance
to
the
Y
on
Bellevue,
anymore
and
I
would
just
say.
L
I
also
think
it's
pretty
cool
that
you've
come
up
with
ideas
of
cooling
stations,
but
if
you
can
keep
in
mind
that
we
use
the
that
that
our
residents
use
the
park
during
the
winter
as
well
as
the
summer
activities,
so
I'm
just
wondering
a
little
bit
about
how
significant
the
changes
to
the
entrances
will
be.
Will
people
still
be
able
to
have
their
festivals
and
get
you
know,
load
things
in
and
out
for
Community
festivals,
but
I
appreciate
the
the
work
you
guys
have
been
doing,
but
thanks.
A
You
Sarah
yeah,
we
definitely
are
trying
to
figure
out.
You
know
trying
to
work
with.
We've
had
some
understanding
from
the
people
who
do
the
Corb
Road
Race
sort
of
what
those
vehicles
are,
so
the
the
overall
path
width
and
the
entrances
of
the
main
entrances
I
think
we're
gonna
look
to
create
wide
entrances,
so
people
can
come
and
go
with
ease.
A
You
know
there
are
some
smaller
ones
like
the
one
off
of
Quinn
way.
I
think
will
be
smaller
and
there'll
be
a
larger
one
at
the
Y.
But
yes,
these
are
all
good
points
to
bring
up
so
I
appreciate
it.
A
There's
a
little
bit
of
people
participating
having
to
do
with
the
ideas
about
the
pine
trees
versus
the
seating
area.
So
I
wonder
if
this
is
something
where
perhaps
we
add
one
shaded
seating
area
and
try
and
retain
a
number
of
those
pine
trees
to
try
and
sort
of
strike
a
balance,
because
it
looks
like
there's
a
there's,
a
lot
of
support
for
shaded
seating,
but
perhaps
it's
like
we
provide
some
shaded
seating
and
then
leave
some
of
the
pine
trees
that
are
in
the
other
seating
area.
A
I,
don't
know,
that's
just
a
thought
if
we
can
go
I
think
Josh
Fontaine
was
called
on
before,
but
he
couldn't
unmute
and
now
I
see
he's
back.
So,
let's,
let's
try
Josh
again.
K
Sorry
I
apologize
for
that
I'm
on
the
road,
so
my
my
service
isn't
the
best
I
I
hope
you
can
hear
me.
I
I
appreciate
all
the
work
your
team
B
has
done.
I've
worked
with
your
contractor
in
the
Private
Industry
before
and
they've
been
nothing
but
great,
so
I'm
glad
to
see
that
the
city
of
Boston
is
using
the
best.
The
one
thing
that
I
do
want
to
say
it's
a
little
inaccurate
saying
there
wasn't
a
lot
of
support
for
the
dog
enclosed
run.
K
K
I
do
know
there
was
one
individual
that
came
out
and
said
that
they
wouldn't
use
it
because
they
would
just
let
their
dog
run
free
where
B
responded,
saying
well,
that's
actually
illegal
and
against
Boston's
bylaws.
So
the
the
one
question
I
guess
I
have
is:
if
we're
going
to
be
allowed
to
have
our
dogs
off
leash,
will
the
signs
be
removed?
K
I
guess
the
second
question
would
be:
will
the
entire
park
be
enclosed?
So
dogs
that
don't
have
the
best
recall,
won't
be
running
into
the
streets
and
then
there
was
also
the
commitment
be
last
time.
I
think
you
mentioned
that
Boston
Parks
is
trying
to
put
one
dog
run
in
each
of
the
Boston
suburbs.
K
So
if
it's
not
going
in
here,
is
there
plans
to
put
one
in
at
Heinz
or
at
Millennium?
Thank
you.
A
So
the
unfortunate
reality
of
the
laws
regarding
off-lease
dogs
in
the
city
of
Boston.
It
is
you,
speak
the
truth.
Technically,
it
is
not
allowed
for
your
dog
to
be
off
leash
in
a
park,
so
we
cannot
say
that
we
are
okay
with
that
use.
A
I
have
driven
by
Parks
before
this
being
one
of
them
and
I
see
that
sometimes
dogs
are
off
leash.
So
I
recognize
that
this
does
happen.
It
is
reality
at
this
moment
in
time.
The
only
kind
of
dog
run
that
the
city
of
Boston
parks
department
is
able
and
willing
to
provide.
Is
an
enclosed
dog
run,
meaning,
like
you
know,
a
fence
around
it
and
material
that
is
manageable,
and
you
know
all
of
the
instruction
required
for
that.
A
So
that
was
something
that
we
had
shown
in
our
second
meeting
you're
right
and
there
were
a
few
people
who
spoke
up
in
support
of
it.
A
A
My
dog
would
not
use
that,
so
it's
it's
not
an
exact
science
here,
but
it
did
not
feel
like.
The
support
that
we
were
getting
for.
An
enclosed
dog
run
at
Billings
was
enough
to
Merit
doing
that.
A
We
are
not
going
to
be
installing
closable
gates
at
all
the
park
entrances,
so
the
park
will
not
be
and
like
you,
you
will
not
be
able
to
let
your
dog
run
free
and
have
it
be
contained
by
the
park
fence.
Technically,
you
should
not
be
allowing
your
dog
to
run
free
within
the
park.
A
A
Millennium
is
in
the
process
of
being
redone,
and
it
was
a
big
conversation
there,
but
I
think
it
was
also
concluded
there.
I
think
the
landfill
cap
was
a
real
concern
dogs
that
dig
so
there
is
not
a
dog
run.
An
enclosed
dog
run
that
is
going
in
at.
A
This
project,
up
until
now,
has
not
there.
There
has
not
been
a
real,
staunch
support
from
the
community
that
I
have
witnessed
for
an
enclosed
dog
run
here.
So
that's
the
way
that
we've
been
going
and
we've
got
our
street
hockey
rank
that
we're
proposing,
and
so
that's
that's
the
direction
that
we've
been
that
we've
been
going
in
so
I
hope,
I've
addressed
your
questions
and
I'm.
Sure
I
will
hear
more
about
that.
E
Hey
so
I
got
a
couple
more
questions,
the
first
thing,
I
guess
regarding
the
the
pine
trees.
E
Looking
at
the
the
plan
that
you
guys
have
I
see
way
more
trees
going
in
than
you're
taking
out
so
I
feel
like
there's
a
net
and
if
you're
worried
about
carbon
capture
I
feel
like
there's
a
net
positive
cover
carbon
capture
in
terms
of
coniferous,
trees
being
specific
to
like
Wildlife,
specifically
like
fireflies
or
other
things
that
live
in
their
needles.
F
E
Is
a
good
thing
for
the
community
and
then
one
thing
I
remember
thinking
about
when
I
realized,
I
missed
the
last
meeting
was:
is
there
some
possibility
of
putting
in
like
a
little
like
open
air
Kiosk
for
kids
to
have
like
a
lemonade
or
a
hot
chocolate
stand-in
to
like
practice
their
entrepreneurship
over
near
like
one
of
the
seating
areas?
Is
that
a
possible
thing
and
the
I
remember
when
Matt
was
talking
originally
about
the
stairs
over
by
Bellevue?
E
C
The
in
terms
of
the
the
ramp
that
it's
a
little
hard
at
this
scale
to
draw
the
ramp
in,
but
essentially
at
one
to
one
side
of
the
stairs
we
would,
we
would
essentially
fill
the
step.
You
know
with
this
with
a
concrete
triangle.
C
You
know,
there's
probably
a
foot
wide
and
that
that
would
run
the
length
of
the
stair
and
that
would
that
would
provide
a
ramp.
Essentially
for
you
to
be
able
to
walk
your
bike
up
and
down
it's,
it
would
not
be
so
it
would
be
like
a
modification
of
the
existing
stairs,
just
sort
of
how
I
was
thinking
about
it.
A
F
A
Does
free
us
up
a
little
bit
to
install
some
kind
of
bike
ramp?
That
would
be
not
just
like
a
retrofit
of
the
existing,
because
I
sort
of
feel
like
if
we
attach
anything
to
those
existing
stairs.
They're
gonna,
like
turn
to
dust
yeah.
F
Hello,
thank
you
guys
very
much
for
holding
this
meeting
tonight.
I,
really
appreciate
your
significant
commitment
to
the
public
process
and
listening
to
the
community.
It's
been
very
pronounced
in
the
past
few
months.
You
know
going
back
to
last
fall
since
you
guys
have
been
opening
up
this
process.
F
First
off
I
will
say:
I
really
like
the
idea
of
having
a
bike
ramp
on
the
stairs
to
Bellevue,
Street
I,
think
that
would
really
increase
access
from
more
sides
of
the
park.
On
that
note,
I
was
wondering
if
there
would
be
bike
parking
included
in
this
reconstruction
redesign.
I
think
that's
really
important
to
have
and
again
increases
access
by
multiple
Transportation
modes
and
by
many
different
users
to
the
park
and
that'd
be
great
to
encourage
more
biking
in
westeroxbury.
F
Regarding
the
pine
trees
which
people
are
talking,
a
lot
about
I
agree
with
Michael
that
the
carbon
that
they
store
is
a
very
large
concern.
Coniferous
trees
store
the
most
carbon
out
of
you
know
any
type
of
tree.
So
when
you
take
down
coniferous
trees,
you're
taking
out
a
lot
of
embodied
carbon
and
I,
think
that's
very
against
the
city's
climate
goals
to.
B
F
Know
take
a
bunch
of
carbon
out
of
storage
like
that.
I
do
also
think
it's
very
against
the
city's
commitment
to
you
know
maintaining
existing
tree
canopy
and
you
know,
keeping
as
many
trees
in
place
as
possible
to
take
down
those
pine
trees
if
they
are
taken
down,
whether
it's
half
of
them
and
doing
half
picking
half
a
picnic
area,
half
seating
or
half
pine
trees.
You
know
it'd
be
nice
to
see
some
of
them
reused,
either
as
seeding
elements
in
this
park
elsewhere.
F
I
did
also
want
to
mention
that
you
know
that's
a
big
change
for
the
ecosystem,
and
you
know
once
you
start
talking
about
introducing
more
deciduous
trees,
which
presumably
any
replanting
you
guys
are
doing,
will
be
that,
because
you
were
talking
about
expanding
the
tree,
canopy
that
kind
of
messes
up
the
natural
flow
of
the
ecosystem
and
makes
it
a
lot
more
homogeneous
which
isn't
really
conducive
to
local
Wildlife
or
other
elements
of
the
environment.
F
I
would
think
that
lighting
like
that
would
be
pretty
low
impact
from
a
light
pollution
standpoint,
but
would
be
very
high
impact
in
terms
of
Park
use.
That's
about
it.
I
just
wanted
to
thank
the
candidates
for
the
10th
District
Suffolk
race
for
being
here
tonight.
Thank
you
for
listening
to
the
community
preemptively
and
again,
thank
you
at
Boston
parks
for
listening
as
well.
M
Hi
this
is
Brian
Clardy,
I'm
resident
up
the
street
and
also
on
the
border.
Parkway
youth
hockey
I
just
wanted
to
commend
everybody
for
their.
You
know
thoughtful
approach,
this
process
throughout
the
few
meetings.
There's
a
lot
of
conflicting
kind
of
uses
of
the
park
and
I
I
know
that
not
everybody
has
gotten
everything
they
wanted,
but
it
seems
like
you've
done
a
really
great
job,
just
a
couple
things
real,
quick,
so
I
don't
know
if
anybody's
on
the
call
from
the
y
or
tenacity
just
knowing
from
experience.
M
You
know
during
the
summer
you
see
all
those
trees
by
the
tennis
courts,
but
actually
you
know
during
the
summer
they
don't
provide
any
coverage
or
shade
for
the
kids
that
are
on
those
courts
and
during
the
summer
there
are
two
programs
that
are
there
pretty
much
every
day,
I'm
guessing
between
50
to
100,
little
kids,
tenacity
being
on
those
tennis
courts
and
then
the
why
being
on
those
basketball
courts
and
they're,
basically,
just
at
the
will
of
the
sun
sitting
there
and
I
I,
don't
know
if
that's
why
those
those
coverages
came
there
and
the
thought
about
removing
those
pine
trees,
I
I,
you
know
one
of
those
treats.
M
Are
there
or
not?
You
know,
that's
I,
don't
know
that's
whoever's
called,
but
the
having
coverage
for
those
kids
to
be
able
to
get
out
of
the
sun,
maybe
even
to
eat
lunch
or
whatever
would
be
I
think
very
helpful
for
those
kids
on
that
side
of
the
park.
M
So,
just
please
consider
that
if
you're
talking
thinking
about
removing
those
those
those
coverage
areas
there
and
to
the
same
note,
I
I've
put
in
the
chat
before,
but
it
would
be
great
to
have
some
sort
of
tent
or
canopy,
maybe
in
between
the
pickleball
court
and
the
in
the
scoreboard.
M
I
mean
the
scoreboard,
the
hockey
ranks
so
that
there's
some
sort
of
coverage
for
for
that
area
for
people
to
get
yet
exactly
to
get
out
of
to
get
out
of
that
sun.
It
looks
like
there's
coverage
there
from
all
those
trees,
but
there
really
isn't
because
there's
a
wall
rate
right
along
there
and
and
nowhere
to
really
hide.
So
thanks
again
for
everything.
Oh
one,
other
one.
M
Other
thing
really
quick:
I
assume
that
you're
in
contact
with
Bruins
Foundation
about
getting
funding
for
the
Court
hockey
I
know
that
they
Supply
funding
to
most
of
the
courts
around
the
city
and
they
did
a
great
job
with
a
few
of
them.
One
in
the
North
End
one
in
Dorchester,
Garvey
and
I'm
sure
they'd
be
happy
to
help.
If
somebody
is
not
already
in
touch
with
them,
foreign.
A
Thank
you
for
that
suggestion.
Brian
and
you
know
someone
else
has
made
that
suggestion
to
me
before
and
I
have
it
on
my
list.
So
that's
a
great
reminder
and
I
think
you
know
this
looks
like
something
that
is
is
gonna
happen,
so
I
will
reach
out
and
see
where
to
start
that
coordination.
A
Sorry
I
appreciate
your
feedback,
and
maybe
it
is
something
where
we
either
relocate
one
of
those
shaded
areas
to
a
different
location,
on
the
plan
to
help
preserve
some
of
the
pine
trees,
but
still
continue
to
provide
shade
I'm
guessing
the
design
team
is
like
slapping
their
foreheads,
like
the
grading
that
we've
had
to
do
just
try
and
make
this
happen.
A
But
it's
it's
definitely
good
to
hear
that
there
are
a
lot
of
people
who
think
that
the
shaded
areas
would
be
well
used
and
so
we're
gonna
try
and
balance
the
need
for
shade
and
the
interest
in
maintaining
those
pine
trees.
So.
M
I
Hi
everyone
thank
you
for
your
thoughtful
work
on
this
design.
It
looks
really
great
I'm
kind
of
surprised.
We
haven't
talked
about
the
playground
yet
and
I
think
that's
because
the
6
p.m.
Meetings
are
hard
for
parents
of
young
children
to
attend,
but
I'm
curious.
I
What
the
plan
is
for
updating
the
playground,
what's
actually
going
to
change,
what's
going
to
stay
the
same
and
I'm
hoping
the
fact
that
it's
just
being
updated,
not
completely
redone
means
it's
not
going
to
be
closed
for
as
long
as
it
might
have
been,
otherwise,
so
I'm
kind
of
hoping,
you
can
speak
to
plans
for
how
the
renovation
is
actually
going
to
work.
I
think
other
people
have
wondered
about
this
in
the
chat
too.
Like
are
you
going
to
Stage
which
parts
of
the
park
are
closed,
while
you're
working
on
other
parts?
I
And
how
long
can
we
expect
to
not
be
able
to
use
some
of
these,
but
some
of
us
consider
critical
areas
of
the
park
while
they're
under
construction.
Thank
you.
C
Yeah
yeah
and
Lindsay
you're
right,
we
probably
should
we
should
have
put
in
a
slide
here,
just
to
sort
of
explain
a
bit
more.
So
what
we
we
had,
a
a
playground
consultant,
come
safety
inspector,
come
and
look
at
the
equipment
and
give
a
report
on
what
is
what
is
still
in
good
condition.
What
needs
to
be
replaced
what's
a
safety
issue,
and
so
then
we
took
so
it
was.
C
We
would
replace
the
decking
I
think
on
at
least
the
the
older
kids
I
can't
remember
now,
B
if
it
was
the
older,
younger
kids,
but
it.
C
Kids,
the
older
one,
so
so
it's
replacing
that
leaving
all
the
posts
in
place
replacing
decking
that's
coming
apart,
where
the
surfacing
has
come
off
resurfacing.
The
whole
thing
I
think
we're
gonna
get
rid
of
those
any
of
the
Mounds.
We're
gonna
get
rid
of
those
and
kind
of
flatten
it
out
and
I
we're
gonna
remove
the
the
sort
of
rocks
that
are
I,
think
between
the
two
spaces,
and
so
it's
really
it's
it's
really
just
rehabbing
the
equipment,
that's
there
and
resurfacing
and
B.
A
Yeah
we
we
haven't
talked
about
that
because
there's
no
contractor
on
board
yet
and
that's
the
the
rub
of
committing
to
like
oh,
yes,
the
playground
will
be
open
for
this
period
of
time,
because
we
don't
here's.
The
the
good
news
is
that
it
is
going
to
require
minimal
work
right
like
safety,
surface,
repairing
the
safety
service,
that's
a
a
one-step
process,
essentially
repairing
the
decking.
A
So
you
know
it
is
not
a
comprehensive
renovation,
so
the
work
that's
being
done
on
the
playground
is
not
going
to
take
as
long
as
it
would
if
it
were
a
comprehensive
renovation.
It's
also
a
discrete
space
within
the
park.
Right
like
it's
surrounded
by
fencing
and
there
is,
it
has
its
own
entrance.
A
A
We
could
certainly
work
with
the
contractor
when
we
have
them
on
board
to
try
and
express
the
interests
of
the
community
to
have
it
open
as
quickly
as
possible
and
given
the
nature
of
that
space,
I
think
it
would
be
possible,
but
that
is
that
as
much
as
I
can
really
say,
and
it's
not
much
of
a
commitment
so
I'm
understanding
that
you
use
the
space
often
and
it's
a
really
important
space
for
the
community.
I
have
a
seven-year-old
daughter.
She
loves
that
playground
and
every
time
I
go
there.
C
The
last
Point
I
forgot
the
the
water
table.
That's
there.
So
we've
talked
about
taking
the
water
table
out
and
replacing
that
with
another
piece
of
equipment
that
would
not
be
water
related
and
then
the
misters
on
the
outside
of
the
park
would
be
sort
of
a
replacement
for
that,
so
that
there
would
still
be
some
sort
of
water
feature
for
the
kids.
A
Chris
sorry
I
was
looking
at
the
chat.
Chris
gizic
says:
City
contracts
routinely
have
schedule
restrictions,
so
maybe
this
is
something
that
I
don't
know
about,
and
I
can
look
into
this,
but
just
a
cautionary
note
that
I'm
concerned
that
it
would
drive
the
price
up
so
Matt.
Thank
you
for
following
up
on
the
water
table
topic,
because,
yes,
that
is
something
that
our
maintenance
group
has
notified
is
like
often
broken,
often
clogged.
A
A
Okay,
so
you
know
there.
I
have
not
been
able
to
synopsize
all
of
the
pressing
concerns
that
have
showed
up
in
the
chat
whatever
is
in.
The
chat
has
made
it
into
the
meeting
record.
So
you
know
there's
still
it's
7
20.
we've
got
10
more
minutes.
A
If
somebody
wants
to
bring
up
something
that
they
feel
I
have
not
been
able,
I
I
haven't
addressed
because
I
haven't
been
able
to
catch
everything
we
have.
We
have
a
couple
more
minutes.
A
There
have
been
a
couple
of
notes
about
dog
runs
people
saying
I
would
have
used
for
this.
Other
people
saying
they
wouldn't
I'm,
still
saying
that
our
previous
meetings
and
Communications
have
shown
there
is
support
for
an
enclosed
dog
run,
but
not
much
so
that
is.
That
is
the
direction
that
that
we're
aiming
for
right.
C
Yeah
I
did
see
it
I
think
this.
The
question
about
Sturgis
access
came
up
again.
C
We
we
did
it,
we
sort
of
talked
about
it
at
the
beginning,
but
the
the
thought
we
we
did
look
at
sturge
access
off
of
Sturgis,
but
the
thinking
there
is
that
since
we're
introducing
the
street
hockey
rink
that
having
an
access
right
adjacent
to
the
and
that
facility
would
really
drive
up
traffic
and
for
vehicular
traffic
on
Sturgis,
and
so
that's
why
we're
not
showing
a
access
off
of
Sturgis
foreign.
C
And
then
there
was
a
question
about
the
the
field:
the
sample
field
dimensions.
So
we
have
one
One
softball
field,
that's
300
feet
and
another
one.
That's
275
and
I.
Think
in
talking
with
the
300
foot,
softball
field
accommodates
adult
play
and
then
both
Fields
can
still
accommodate
youth
play.
A
Yes,
there
was
a
note
at
their
second
meeting
that
the
softball
was
not
allowing
for
men's
softball,
and
so
we
increased
the
size
of
one
of
the
softball
fields
to
300
feet,
so
we
can
incorporate
both
men's
softball
and
the
girls
softball
Parkway
league
and
I
sat
down
with
our
our
folks
at.
But
why
am
I
blanking
on
the
names,
the
good
people
who
do
all
of
the
active
Recreation
and
all
of
the
recreation
right?
Thank
you.
A
It's
a
recreation
Folks
at
parks
and
they
shared
with
us
the
dimensions
that
are
preferable
for
these
things.
So
there's
also
a
question
about
go
Boston,
2030,
Mobility
goals
in
shaping
the
way
access
to
the
park
is
thought
about.
That's
a
an
interesting
topic:
I,
don't
know
the
specific
Mobility
goals
we
are
going
to
be
improving
all
of
the
entrances
and
all
of
the
walkways
in
the
park
are
going
to
be
Ada
accessible.
A
The
only
non-ada
accessible
entrance
is
going
to
be
the
staircase
coming
from
Bellevue,
so
I'd
like
to
think
that
would
work
with
Mobility
goals
but
Patrick.
If
you
I,
will
look
that
up
after
our
meeting.
That
will
be
my
homework,
so
I
appreciate
you're,
bringing
that
up.
Oh.
C
Like
bike
parking
sort
of
at
each
end
of
the
park-
yes,
sorry,
it's
hard
at
this
scale
to
sort
of
depict
some
of
the
more
detailed
elements.
A
There's
also
questions
about
a
scoreboard
for
the
street
hockey,
rink
and
or
softball
I
think
we
could
manage
those
I
like
the
idea
of
a
shared
one.
Someone
threw
that
one
up
like
a
double-sided
one
which
I
don't
know
if
that
exists,
or
if
that's
just
an
idea,
but
if
anyone
has
some
information
about
that,
I
am
be
happy
to
hear
it.
Otherwise
we
can
do
our
own
research
and
see
what
options
exist
there.
A
L
C
Something
we
that's
something
we
tried
to
think
about
in
terms
of
that
space
was
that
the
this
I
didn't
mention
that,
let's
see,
if
we
just
click
through
sorry
to
make
you
dizzy.
So
what
when
we
were
thinking
about
the
stairs
here,
they're
one
reason
for
this
landing
and
that
this
would
be
there
would
definitely
be
outlets
at
this
Landing
was
that
you
could
have
a
band
on
the
landing
sort
of,
except
up
above
this
is
instead
of
trying
to
provide
for
a
stage
in
which
case
you
know
it's
unused.
C
You
know
360
days
out
of
the
year,
you
know
or,
however
many
you
know,
instead
of
something
that
sits
unused
for
a
large
portion
of
the
time,
trying
to
find
a
way
for
the
stage
to
sort
of
be
the
stairs,
and
so
that's
why
the
stairs
are
sort
of
wider,
so
that
you
know
you
could
have
you
can
kind
of
accommodate
that
use
sort
of
wider
wider,
both
like
in
terms
of
the
the
depth
of
the
of
the
landing
and
also
in
the
width,
so
that
so
that
the
band
is
obviously
not
blocking
the
stairs
anyway.
A
Well,
it's
it's
7,
26
and
I
feel
like
we've,
had
a
lot
of
great
comments
here
tonight
and
I
want
to
thank
the
design
team
for
their
apparently
inexhaustible
ability
to
receive
information
and
incorporate
incorporate
it.
It
has
been
a
balancing
act
and
obviously
we
are
not
able
to
satisfy
everyone's
everyone's
needs,
but
I
I,
appreciate
hearing
the
continued
suggestions
and
I
also
appreciate
the
positive
feedback,
because
it's
nice
to
hear
so
I.
Thank
you
all
for
coming
tonight
and
keep
your
eye
out
for
our
project.
A
Page
I'm
gonna
put
that
in
our
chat.
So
if
you
want
to
go
to
that
in
the
next
few
days,
.gov
Billings
Dash
field,
we
will
upload
the
recording
of
This
we're
also
going
to
upload
the
presentation
PDF.
So
if
you
want
to
forward
that
around,
if
you
have
continued
thoughts,
suggestions
things
that
you
think
we
are
missing,
please
email
me.
That's!
My
email
is
on
the
project
page,
but
I'm
also
putting
it
here.
A
So
thank
you.
Everybody
and
have
a
wonderful
night.
