The things that are so important in our city, in my opinion, is our park system. The money raised tonight helps us with programming for our young people to make sure that we keep our young people busy, keep them active and we want them to make sure they have a chance to be in a world-class park and that's what our goal in Boston is to have world-class parks throughout the whole city of Boston. A year, we all gather here at least near the Kelleher Rose Garden, to raise money and support for the free programs, the series and events which the Boston Parks and Recreation Department plan and produce on a year-round basis.

All these programs- and you know them well the concerts, the free movies, the children's festivals, the arts programs, the special events. They are all free to those who attend held in our beautiful parks and green spaces across Boston.
