From YouTube: Election Department Ballot Lottery 2019
Description
Election season begins at City Hall with the city's Election Department opening Boston's Ballot Position Drawing of candidates names for the 2019 Municipal Elections.
A
Good
morning,
everyone
thank
you
for
attending
the
ballot
position,
drawing
for
the
upcoming
municipal
election.
My
name
is
Lena
de
Tavares.
I
am
the
interim
election
commissioner
and
chair
of
the
Board
of
Election
Commissioners
I
have
here
with
me
fellow
board,
members
Republican
Commissioner,
Ellen,
Rooney
democratic
commissioner,
edmond
shoemaker
and
republican
commissioner
Sean
Burke
I
also
want
to
thank
the
election
department
staff
for
all
the
hard
work
that
they
do
with
the
adhesive
you
and
for
ensuring
that
the
preliminary
election
went
very
smoothly.
A
Everyone
should
have
should
have
received
a
list
of
candidates
whose
names
will
appear
on
the
November
5th
ballot.
We're
gonna
call
out
those
names
in
alphabetical
order
and
then
place
the
names
into
the
receptacle
and
then
we'll
begin
drawing
the
names
of
one
by
one
and
the
order
in
which
they're
drawn
is
the
order
that
they
will
appear
on
the
November
5th
ballot.
A
Also,
on
the
November
5th
ballot,
we
will
have
a
question
a
citywide,
non-binding
question.
It's
also
on
that
list
that
you
received
it's
going
to
be
asking
residents.
Do
you
support
the
renaming
changing
of
the
name
of
we
square
the
Nubian
square,
with
its
simple,
yes
and
no
option
so
now,
I'm
going
to
turn
it
over
to
Alvin
Rooney?
Who
is
going
to
read
the
names
out
in
alphabetical
order?
Thank
you.
