From YouTube: Game of the Week: BPS Boys Middle School Basketball Championship - Young Achievers vs. New Mission
Description
The undfeated New Mission Titans take on fast and furious Young Achievers Golden Knights in the 2019 BPS Boys Middle School Basketball Championship at the Shelburne Community Center in Roxbury.
A
A
Hello
Boston
and
welcome
to
the
Shelburne
Community
Center
in
Roxbury
for
the
2019
boys
bps
middle
school
basketball
championship.
As
tonight,
the
Young
Achievers
Golden
Knights
will
be
taking
on
the
new
mission
Titans
everybody
I
pat
flattered
over
my
partner
as
always
Allen
flat
and
Allen.
We
got
just
had
the
girls
middle
school
championship
now,
it's
the
boys
middle
school
championship,
and
this
really
gives
us
a
great
opportunity
to
see
the
future
of
Boston
high
school
basketball
in
these
games
here
tonight.
B
A
B
Well,
he's
again:
we
talked
about
middle
school.
We
always
have
to
talk
about
development,
coordination,
skill
and
Fenton.
His
skills
lead
him
to
be
a
scorer.
He
handles
the
ball
well
and
port,
but,
most
importantly,
probably
he
has
the
confidence
of
his
teammates.
As
a
young
player,
he's
gonna
make
the
right
decisions
with
the
ball.
What.
A
A
That's
right
very
good
semifinal
game
for
him
for
Young
Achievers,
you
on
the
other
side
for
new
mission
who,
for
a
long
time,
was
a
very
good
and
still
is
a
very
good
high
school
basketball.
Team.
They've
now
got
an
eighth
grade
team
starting
this
year
and
what
do
you
know?
They're,
undefeated,
taking
all
the
tradition
from
the
boys
side
and
bring
it
it's
from
the
high
school
side,
bring
to
the
middle
middle
school
part
of
the
the
program
and,
of
course,
Cory
McCarthy's.
The
head
coach.
B
B
He's
yes,
some
size
and
knows
how
to
use
it.
Good,
good
foot,
movement,
good
balance
and
the
fact
that
he
again,
like
you
said
big
can
play
both
ends-
runs
runs
baseline
to
baseline
likes
to
block
shots,
rebounds
well,
but
most
important
I
think
this
is
the
fact
he
goes
to
floor
so
well
made
for
his
size.
He'd
really
get
something
down.
Court.
A
D
Thanks
guys,
so
one
player
to
keep
an
eye
on
for
the
Young
Achievers
is
point
guard.
Diego
Hardy
he's
one
of
the
more
experienced
players
on
the
roster
as
an
8th
grader,
and
he
does
everything
well
he's
able
to
shoot
from
outside
moves
ball
on
offense
and
also
can
steal
some
balls
on
defense,
we'll
see
what
he
can
do
this
evening
back
to
you
thanks.
B
Just
gonna
say
it
may
met
it
end
up
matching
up
as
a
contrast
between
very
strong
backcourt
against
some
size.
On
the
new
mission
side,
we'll
see,
I
mean
Korea's
been
around
for
a
while
you're
decent
coach,
and
you
know
the
core
team
accomplished
history.
You
mentioned
that
all
the
years
bent
in
their
mission,
mainly
at
the
high
school
side,
well,.
A
Question
two
very
experienced
coach
coaches:
coaching
up
these
programs
who
are
in
the
boys,
2019
middle
school
basketball
championship
folks,
we're
gonna
head
to
break
when
we
come
back
we'll
be
opening
tap
here
from
the
Shelburne
Community
Center
in
Roxbury.
Right
after
these
words,
don't
go
away.
A
E
F
F
G
Hey
you
yeah
you
getting
that
college
education.
What
are
you
gonna
do
graduate
and
take
some
office
job
you
like
everybody
else
or
well.
You
dare
do
something
different.
Like
be
a
teacher.
You
could
be
my
teacher.
You
got
the
skills,
the
smarts!
Yes,
you
you
give
me
the
teacher
I.
Never
forget
no
be
cool.
Does
that
corporate
job
even
have
recess?
What
are
you
gonna
make
him
you
Soph?
What
are
you
gonna
make
of
me.
M
E
A
Welcome
back
to
the
Shelburne
Community
Center
in
Roxbury
for
the
2019
boys,
bps
middle
school
basketball,
championship
Young,
Achievers,
taking
on
new
mission
starting
lineups
for
both
squads,
Young
Achievers
but
Fenton
at
the
point,
and
he
get
hardy
simply
Z
Garcia,
st.
Louis
Vitton
for
the
Golden
Knights.
Meanwhile,
for
the
new
mission
Titans,
it's
tupiza
gentle
pass
Clark,
siano
and
Jenkins.
A
B
A
A
B
B
No
really
these,
which
are
marked
wrong.
He
wants
to
my
right
now
because
his
shoes
washed
his
team
three
straight
times
just
get
the
ball
up
me.
It's
a
full-court
print
press.
What
you
expect
so
he
just
boldface
and
supposed
to
go
to
a
certain
spot,
see
it
is
released.
Feverishly
on
that
on
that
board,
reminding
his
plays.
Were
you
supposed
to
go?
They
expect
the
basketball.
That's.
B
A
A
A
A
B
B
A
B
B
B
A
A
E
A
B
A
A
Mercy
up
firing
up
a
three
row
off
the
mark:
cuz
I'm
Jenkins,
with
the
rebound.
Let's
get
some
stolen
away
and
getting
fouled
in
the
corner.
That
time
is
Shamar
Murray.
Well
anybody
who's
familiar
with
the
new
mission
program.
He
got
Sean
Murray
and
Shamar
Murray,
both
eighth
graders
for
the
Titans.
Their
brothers
were
Shaquille
Murray
just
a
few
years
ago
for
new
mission
and
then
a
few
years
before
that
sukwon
Murray,
who
went
on
to
play
at
Salem.
A
B
C
A
B
B
C
A
B
B
A
B
C
Mr.
Hooper,
the
as
long
as
Ryback
I
said
Hoshi.
B
B
E
A
E
B
B
Commission's
run
they've
got
hit
at
one
point,
so
both
teams
mix
they
had
900
runs,
is
what
it's
about
you
and
wasn't
really
hutch.
The
scouts
is
just
a
lot
of
energy
teams,
knowing
what
they
want
to
do.
Both
teams
getting
a
little
wax
Young
Achievers
team,
oh
not
sure
why
they
seem
I,
feel
like
I'm
step
behind
in
that
first
quarter,
and
the
mission
took
advantage
of
that
second
quarter.
Fenton
got
going
getting
to
the
basket,
but
now
get
Young
Achievers
in
a
ten-point
hole
again.
So
second
half
something
interesting
coach.
B
D
Q
Expected
them
to
have
some
nerves.
This
is
this
is
good
for
the
kids
I'm
gonna
get
to
be
on
TV.
You
guys
are
calling.
The
game
is
something
they
get
to
live
with
forever
and
see
forever
and
look
up
online.
So
I
expected
the
nerves
we
weren't
as
aggressive
as
I
thought.
We
could
be
I'm
so
expect
us
to
come
out
in
the
second
half
of
the
extra
aggressive
and.
D
D
Q
A
B
That
it's
all
about
committing
to
practice,
repetition!
That's
how
you
learn
it,
because
you
right
there
that
first
quarter
that
that
created
so
many
problems.
It
wasn't
until
Young
Achievers
to
go
but
get
the
balls
of
fencing.
When
he's
you
started
to
break
them
down
a
little
bit,
but
here's
one
I
want
to
build
his
history
and
his
first
half
or
so.
This
is
unbelievable,
but
just
a
quarter
said
he's
going
to
continue
to
throw
different
defensive
looks
at
them.
That's
right!
That's
how
you
borrow
up
with
a
player
like
fencing.
A
Question
we'll
see
if
some
of
those
guys
can
rally
here
at
halftime
trying
to
cut
into
this
ten-point
lead
that
do
mission
right
now
has
over
Young
Achievers
at
the
2019
boys,
bps
middle
school
basketball
championship
folks
are
gonna
head
to
break
when
we
come
back.
We'll
have
the
third
quarter
here
at
the
Shelburne
Center
right.
After
these
words
make
sure
you
stick
around.
O
J
R
A
B
Young
girl
she
was
in
she
Fenton
five
points,
simply
sheet
four
points
for
them
to
flee.
She
also
has
five
rebounds.
If
I
see
you
with
three
red
balls
and
places
with
Boris,
sisal
he's
actually
a
decent
first
half
and
then
Princeton
with
three
assists,
so
seven
assists
in
the
backcourt.
Yet
when
the
Young
Achievers
just
the
half
for
it
off
it's
going
there.
Okay,
but
they've,
had
that.
If.
C
B
Points
Jenkins
with
six
rebounds
John
Murray,
that's
four
rebounds,
then
cloth
and
it'll
pass
both
in
a
couple
of
assists
each.
So
it's
up
and
down
both
coaches
want
to
force
the
accent.
So
it's
almost
like.
Okay,
you
get
hit
speed,
speed,
speed
which
is
going
to
give,
and
so
far
the
difference
to
me
has
been
the
full-court
pressure
in
the
half-court
pressure
defensively
that
new
missions
been
able
to
apply
and
create
steals
having
these
ten-point
lead.
So.
A
B
A
B
E
A
B
A
A
A
A
Great
lead
pass
up
to
see
no
shot,
no
good.
A
A
B
A
A
Pitou
from
the
stripes
isn't
pleasing,
so
an
eight-point
lead
for
new
mission
excuse
if
he
made
one
of
those.
So
one
for
two
from
the
line
is
simply
Z.
Eight
point
lead
and
Titan
say
with
340
left
to
go
in
the
third
quarter.
Clarke
tries
another
three
can't
hit
that
one
put
back,
no
good
that
time
inside
Clarke
slices
inside
the
paint
gets
the
basket
and
the
foul
attack.
B
A
B
Okay,
achieve
is
hard
to
go
at
that
time,
because
there's
three
point:
blank
foot
packs
by
new
mission.
Mr.,
although
that's
not
going
to
happen
too
often
talk
about
frustration
but
most
agree
at
the
end
of
Jesus,
he's
gonna
be
think
it's
himself.
How
could
he
come
to
a
championship
game
and
not
do
bite
right?
That's,
okay!
This
coke
history
right
there
I
mean
he
knows
that
he
bounced
him,
which
is
my
big
book.
He
goes,
would
be
a
lot
worse
than
that.
This
one
Benton.
A
A
Eight-Point
lead
from
Titus
stolen
away
by
Jenkins
in
the
open
floor,
Hassan
Jenkins
can't
finish
the
layup
scramble
for
the
loose
ball.
Simply
Z
comes
up
with
it.
Now
it's
Fenton
and
the
open
floor
himself
party
long
too
short
with
us
Jenkins
with
the
rebound
for
new
mission.
Seven
seconds
left
in
the
quarter,
Macon's
Marie,
it's
wink
part
for.
A
E
O
J
D
Guys,
one
of
these
Young
Achievers
teams
biggest
strengths,
is
their
speed
and
ability
to
score
in
transition
they're
also
very
effective
at
forcing
turnovers.
Now,
if
they
want
to
make
a
comeback
in
this
game,
they
have
to
play
their
strengths.
Like
I
said
forcing
the
turnovers
and
making
those
hustle
plays
we'll
see
what
they
can
do
back
to
you
thanks.
A
A
A
B
A
A
A
B
A
B
And
thinking
is
it
a
seventh-grader
may
be
a
good
chance
of
seeing
him
back
here
next
year
if
he
has
any
type
of
support
and
makes
you
ask
were
like
I
said
most.
Both
these
teams
have
nine
eighth
graders,
that's
right!
So
it's
gonna
wonder
in
terms
of
Young
Achievers.
What
they
have
was
sixty
seventh
grade.
Look
at
that
season.
We.
B
A
B
I
mean
it:
the
challenges
of
numbers,
just
like
you
said,
is
their
success
at
the
high
school
program.
This
past
season
really
really
created
a
lot
of
excitement
and
they
only
use
a
couple
of
forwards.
I
think
in
one
guy
to
graduation,
our
soul
is
limited
opportunity,
but
we
work
hard
enough.
Nothing
always
gives
people
a
chance
if
they're
going
to
work.
If.
B
A
A
B
J
B
The
foot
you
open
the
tap,
we
went
into
a
full-court
press
and
you
know
what
she
was.
Actually
they
had
an
idea
where
to
go,
but
they
just
didn't
match
the
intensity
of
that
first
five
minutes
and
it
seemed
like
more
than
I
think,
more
importantly
than
too
thin
to
leave
it
remission
God.
They
just
seemed
like
they
felt
comfortable,
that's
right
that
they
knew
the
Fenton
as
a
floors.
B
Gonna
be
tough
in
Cibola
players
who
watch
out
for
but
they're
playing
their
game,
and
so
no
mission
I
just
think,
really
felt
comfortable
from
the
first
quarter
wrong.
Even
though
we
did,
she
then
achieves
like
a
nice.
One
get
a
chain
point
lead
down
to
one
another:
nine,
nothing
run
by
their
mission.
Just
came
right
behind
this.
A
Question,
and
certainly
for
McCarthy
appreciates
that
with
this
very
difficult
defense
to
master,
but
these
to
lease
this
new
mission
teams
only
did
that
tonight,
folks,
we
they
had
to
break
when
we
come
back,
we'll
ever
game
the
weekend,
VP
or
game
winning
coach
and
our
final
stats
here
from
the
Shelburne
Center
Roxbury
right.
After
these
words,
they'll
go
away.
P
S
L
So
there
you
are
shuffling
through
a
stack
of
resumes
and
you
come
to
mind
this.
Is
it
first
impression
my
way
in,
but
can
my
resume
show
you
how
I
truly
stand
out
like
that
I
was
studying
going
to
night
school,
while
working
two
jobs
just
to
help
my
parents
pay
for
groceries
or
being
the
first
one
to
always
step
up?
No,
that's
something!
You
just
can't
put
on
paper,
look
beyond
the
resume
and
discover
new
ways
to
develop
great
talent
that
is
dedicated,
hardworking
and
determined.
Like
me,
do
you.
M
Want
to
retire
like
a
champ,
just
like
legendary
basketball,
star
uncle
drew
you're
already
tasting
the
game.
You've
got
your
dream:
ride,
don't
be
slamming
my
door.
Just
gotta
get
the
boys
your
tree
vacation
and
your
dream
team,
and
now
you
can
make
a
retirement
just
as
legendary
I
keep
with
the
tips
you
need
to
give
on
track
at
AC,
retirement
or.
G
A
Welcome
back
to
the
Shelburne
community
center
in
Roxbury
at
the
conclusion
of
the
2009
teen
boys,
bps
middle
school
basketball
championship,
the
new
mission
Titans
took
down
the
Young
Achievers
Golden,
Knights
52:38,
and
definitely
a
team
across
the
board
win
for
new
mission
here
tonight.
But
those
two
forwards,
Jenkins
and
Clark-
were
really
tough,
a
tough
matchup
for
that
Young
Achievers.
B
Especially
in
the
second
half
I
mean
that's
dad
at
the
head
of
lead
anyway,
but
they
really
turned
it
up.
Rebound
in
both
ends.
Offensive
rebound
was
so
impressive.
That's
right
admission.
We
missed
shots
and
just
get
a
second
chance.
Third
chance,
sometimes
a
fourth
chance,
so
you're
right
either.
One
of
those
are
those
two
forwards
forbidden
outstanding
play.
No.
A
P
D
P
P
Support
the
support
means
everything
the
support
I'm
having
them
on
your
back
just
keeps
you
going
every
day,
every
different
practice.
Having
that
support
the
energy
of
us,
we
have
a
great
energy,
as
you
can
see,
we're
always
chancing
always
Lara
was
together
and
that
energy
just
translate
into
the
games
and
I
give
us
our
runs.
Q
I
can't
say
enough
about
these
young
men,
as
you
know,
historically
I'm
very
difficult
to
deal
with,
but
they
were
they
bought
in.
They
believed
in
me.
Sometimes
I
was
late
to
practice.
Just
working,
you
know,
I'm
just
happy
I
got
to
be
a
part
of
something
where
kids
were
trusting
me
and
it
were
trusted
me
with,
and
parents
were
trusting
me
our
school
was
trusting
me
to
do
the
right
things
and
accomplish
this
very,
very
huge
goal
for
us
for
our
kids.
D
D
Q
Was
one
of
the
more
fun
seasons?
I've
ever
had
I'm
a
coach,
a
basketball
for
a
long
time,
I
retired
for
a
little
bit.
I
came
back
because
we
started
a
middle
school
and
a
mission,
and
these
kids
they've
been
on
me
to
come
and
know,
participate
and
help
them
out
and
that's
what
I
that's
the
goal
we
set
and
that's
the
goal
we
accomplished
well.
A
Thanks
very
much
Leverett
and
certainly
I
haven't
Cory
McCarthy
back
on
the
hardwood
is
gonna,
be
very
difficult
for
the
rest
of
the
teams.
It's
great
we
playing
against,
because
obviously
we
talked
about
what
kind
of
accomplishments
he
has
on
the
on
the
basketball
court.
He's
certainly
done
a
great
job,
coaching
the
city
for
a
long
time,
and
will
continue
to
do
that.
It
seems
like,
but
just
a
great
overall
win
for
this
new
mission
program.
A
B
And
overall
is
this
best
estimate
for
the
time
middle
school
leave
now
other
schools
will
really
have
to
sort
of
ramp
up
their
challenge,
and
it's
nice.
What
I
guess
they
play
a
10
or
11
games
now,
which
is
right
up,
is
before
you
start
out
with
less
game.
So
these
DCI
young
players,
even
though
they're
only
11,
12
13
14
years
old.
They
have
something
to
really
look
forward
to
that's
right
and
it's
it's
like
you
said.
B
B
Very
important
so
I
like
that
I
like
the
direction,
obviously
an
undefeated
season
with
a
bunch
of
eighth
graders.
They
move
on
and,
like
you
said,
we'll
see
who
steps
up
from
a
couple
of
K
couple
of
kids
of
seventh
graders,
but
then
there'll
be
some
other
younger
players.
Just
it's
you.
That's
right!
I
get
a
chance
at
tryouts,
they'll.
B
Achieve
is
Fenton
ended
up
with
19
points.
We
knew
he'd
be
their
highest
scorer.
Some
PC
has
seven
submission
14
rebounds
and
he
worked
hard.
It's
just
he.
It
was
like
him
against
the
two
big
forwards
from
your
mission,
which
made
it
tough
Garcia,
didn't,
have
five
rebounds
fit
and
also
had
five
assists
and
some
police.
He
had
forces,
so
Young
Achievers
just
couldn't
spread
out
what
the
way
they
normally
did
during
the
course
of
the
whole
season,
but
they
think
of
it.
B
Mission
will
pay
clock,
Austin
airplay
with
20
Jenkins
at
12.
He
also
had
16
rebounds
Baca
is
six
rebounds.
The
PISA
with
five
assists
and
gentle
pass
with
forest
is
so
new
mission
promotes
at
them,
but
they
wide,
like
you
always
say,
start
with
defense
away
from
the
open
attack.
They
jumped
right
into
that
full
court
pressure.
A
No
question:
we
certainly
saw
that
throughout
the
game,
but
mission,
the
very
beginning,
they
really
did
set
the
tone
and
that's
what
the
rest
of
the
game
was
like
because
of
how
they
started
out
with
that
great
defense.
Folks,
you
want
to
watch
this
game
again.
You
can
simply
go
to
our
website.
Go
to.
C
E
A
Season
we're
gonna,
take
a
little
break
before
bmbl
gets
going
in
the
sun,
but
I
want
to
thank
our
crew,
has
done
a
fabulous
job
as
always
over
the
winter
and
now
into
the
spring.
Thank
you
very
much
guys,
and
we
want
to
thank
all
the
schools,
all
the
players
on
the
coaches,
who
do
a
fantastic
job,
allowing
us
to
come
into
their
schools
and
cover
these
games,
and
we
also
want
to
thank
you
for
joining
us
on
all
these
basketball
games
throughout
the
season
and
hope
to
see
you
in
the
summertime
right
now.
