From YouTube: Goodwill's Thanks-for-Giving 2017
Description
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Goodwill gives back to employees enrolled in their job training and career services programs with a full Thanksgiving dinner at the Morgan Memorial Goodwill in Roxbury. Mayor Walsh, Gov. Baker, Police Commissioner William Evans, and other elected officials congregated to say grace and help serve dinner.
A
A
What
day,
what
approve
this
is
a
lungsiet
goodwill
tradition,
where
we
come
together
the
day
before
Thanksgiving,
to
celebrate
the
accomplishments
of
the
people
in
our
programs,
as
well
as
thank
the
staff
who
do
so
much
during
the
year
to
support
them.
We
also
come
together
to
recognize
how
many
people
in
our
community
come
together
to
let
our
work
happen
with
the
board
of
directors.
A
Here,
government
officials
funders
businesses
that
hire
from
our
programs
all
of
those
come
together
so
that
people
7500
people
can
come
to
Goodwill
every
year
to
get
help
going
to
work
to
support
themselves
and
their
families.
Today,
I
would
like
to
particularly
thank
willow
tree
farms.
That's
donated
all
the
turkeys
and
the
volunteers
from
Blue
Cross
Blue
Shield,
the
Blue
Crew
that
are
just
amazing.
A
B
B
B
Your
word
says:
greater
love
has
no
man
than
this
than
one
would
lay
down
his
life
for
spring.
We
pray
for
patience,
help
us
to
slow
down
and
enjoy
life
and
enjoy
one
another.
We
pray
for
service,
the
songwriter
said
to
serve
this
present
age.
My
calling
to
fulfill
may
I
and
all
my
power
engaged
to
do
the
master's.
Will
we
pray
for
Governor
Baker,
all
our
legislature,
mayor
Walsh,
all
our
city
council,
our
law
enforcement
officials,
business
and
community
leaders
and
most
of
all,
all
the
people
of
goodwill.
B
Dear
lord,
remove
all
hatred
from
our
hearts
and
give
us
the
courage
to
do
what
is
right
in
your
eyes
may
we
serve
the
poor
and
the
needy
and
those
who
are
outside
of
the
margins,
who
need
your
blessings?
The
most
blessed
is
food
we
now
receive
and
may
you
turn
out
mourning
into
dancing
and
when
this
day
is
over
and
our
work
on
earth
is
done,
receive
us
into
your
eternal
Kingdom
through
Christ.
We
pray,
amen.
A
A
C
Want
to
thank
you
very
much.
One
of
the
first
of
all
I
wish
everyone
a
happy
days
giving
today.
How
was
the
turkey
that's
good.
I
wanted
a
I
want
to
thank
our
service
today
that
we
here
doing
the
serving
I
want
to
just
to
everyone
here.
Just
hope.
We
have
a
great
day
tomorrow
and
I
want
you
to
keep
in
your
prints
and
your
thoughts
of
the
families
from
the
north
end
that
we're
in
the
fire
last
thing.
C
So
if
you
could
just
remember
them
as
you
go
through
the
holiday
tomorrow,
just
upkeep
of
the
minotaur
I'm
not
going
to
give
a
big
speech
if
I'm
sick
of
giving
speeches
but
I
want
to
thank.
We
have
a
lot
of
great
people
here
and
I'm,
trying
to
name
a
few
people
that
are
here
today.
We
have
city
companies,
rossabi
George's,
whatnots,
Thank,
You

C
We
have
the
speaker.
The
house
is
going
to
come
up
here
and
say
a
few
words
and
a
couple
of
minutes.
I
want
to
thank
the
speaker
for
being
such
a
great
friend
to
the
city
of
Austin
and
infinite
for
everyone
in
the
state
Thank
You.
Mr.
speaker,
also,
the
one
of
the
leaders
of
the
house
represent
inspiring
rushing
want
bringing
up
in
a
second
Thank
You
leader,
rushing
for
your
great
work.
C
I
want
to
thank
the
Train
general
Maura
Healey,
who
done
some
incredible
work
in
the
city
as
well,
and
the
common
law
Massachusetts,
as
well
as
the
Treasury
Deb
Goldberg.
Thank
you,
ladies
for
being
leaders
in
our
state
in
our
city.
Thank
you
for
everything
you
do.
I
want
to
thank
the
governor,
okay
and
notice.
He
came
after
the
food
insurance,
so
you
have
to
clean
up
the
dishes
in
the
back
all
right
now,
shorts,
joggin,
washing
the
dishes
go!
Thank
you
go.
C
We
also
have
a
bunch
of
other
folks
that
that
were
elected
officials
in
the
past
want
to
thank
you
all,
because
Police
Commissioner
Billy
Evans
is
with
nice
Thank
You,
Commissioner,
Evans,
sheila
Dillon
from
housing,
Jimmy,
Rooney,
CEO,
Paul,
Grogan's,
here,
John,
Tobin,
CEO,
Steve,
Grossman,
SIA,
and
so
many
other
folks
in
here.
Thank
you.
C
D
Thank
you
very
much
there.
It
is
so
good
every
year
to
be
able
to
come
by
and
be
with
the
great
clients
and
staff
and
leadership
of
goodwill.
This
is
one
of
the
most
important
organizations
in
this
state.
This
is,
of
course,
the
leading
organization
in
this
city
for
doing
this
wonderful
work
of
not
only
rehabilitation
but
people,
jobs,
and
for
all
of
that
we
say,
Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving
for
good
will
clap
for
them.
D
And
we
need
to
use
goodwill
as
an
example,
an
example
of
how
we
all
should
relate
to
each
other
an
example
of
how
we
should
all
be
treating
each
other,
because
everyone
in
this
city
and
in
this
state
who
needs
help
should
get
help,
because
that's
what
our
society
and
government
is
built
on,
making
sure
that
everyone
lives
their
lives
to
the
fullest
and
has
no
barriers,
and
so
for
all
of
that.
I.
Thank
good.
E
Thank
you
so
much
pirate
I'm
not
sure
about
anyone's
Byron's
boss,
maybe
his
wife
I
think
more
than
even
than
anyone
else,
but
I
just
want
to
come
here
to
today.
Obviously,
I
think
this
is
so
important,
and
one
of
the
folks
asked
me
what
I
give
thanks
for
and
I
give
thanks.
First
of
all,
obviously,
for
the
fact
that
Sam,
my
family
is
doing
well
and,
most
importantly,
they're
very
healthy
and,
most
importantly,
I
have
a
granddaughter
who
turned
two
yesterday.
E
Give
thanks
for
the
great
people
that
I
have
the
opportunity
to
work
with
on
a
day
in
a
day,
but
today
in
big
basis
as
the
mayor
head
had
mentioned.
But
you
know
what
I
really
give
thanks
that
I
have
the
opportunity,
each
and
every
year
to
be
here
with
each
and
every
one
of
you,
because
I
think
it
is
so
important
that
in
these
times
that
we
find
ourselves
in
I
find
that
this
this
opportunity,
which
I
have
to
serve
some
of
the
folks
around
the
city.
E
It's
one
of
the
great
opportunities
that
I
have
thanks
to
all
of
you.
I
want
to
wish
you
a
very
happy
Thanksgiving
and,
as
Byron
had
mentioned,
a
special
things
given
to
the
people
of
goodwill,
who
do
this
each
and
every
day
to
make
sure
that
no
one
in
the
city
and
no
one
in
this
state
is
forgotten.
Thank
you
very
much
and
God
bless.
E
And
now
I
have
the
opportunity
to
introduce
a
lady
who
I've
known
for
many
many
years
and
she
does
such
an
unbelievable
job
as
treasurer
of
this
Commonwealth
she's,
not
only
a
state
elected
official
but
she's,
also
a
good
friend
not
only
to
me
but
to
people
throughout
the
Commonwealth.
Please
give
a
warm
welcome
to
our
treasurer
deb
goldberg.
F
So
I
know
that
I'm
in
between
you
and
the
dancing-
and
I
was
a
big
dancer
last
year-
so
I'm
not
gonna
say
a
lot,
because
I
can't
wait
to
be
up
here
on
the
dance
floor
with
all
of
you,
but
I
do
want
to
say
that
I
am
thankful
for
goodwill
and
the
work
that
they
do.
I'm
thankful
for
all
of
you
that
are
sitting
here,
that
we
are
able
to
give
you
a
beautiful
meal
today
and
the
work
that
goodwill
does
to
help
with
jobs
to
help
with
finding
the
homes.
F
For
me,
it's
about
opportunity.
It's
about
breaking
down
barriers,
it's
about
about
having
a
sustainable,
wonderful
life
here
in
Massachusetts
and
goodwill
is
on
the
cutting
edge
of
doing
that.
I
am
also
thankful
for
my
beautiful
family
and
I
can't
wait
to
hug
and
kiss
each
and
every
one
of
them
tomorrow,
as
we
sit
down
and
the
same
kind
of
meal
that
I'm
so
grateful.
F
G
G
H
H
Like
it
fits
apply,
excessive,
compulsive
behavior,
let
me
just
first
of
all
say
how
much
we
all
collectively
appreciate
the
work.
That's
done
by
the
wealth.
You
are
an
enormous
ly,
important
part
of
our
community.
You
do
wonderful
work
with
a
variety
of
different
populations
both
in
and
around
the
city,
as
I
walked
around
and
talked
to
folks.
Here,
I
talked
to
folks
who
found
their
way
to
good
well
through
a
whole
variety
of
paths
in
life
and
into
a
person.
H
They
talked
about
how
important
this
organization
has
been
to
them
and
to
their
ability
to
either
get
back
on
their
feet
or
to
find
their
way
to
a
better
path
on
a
go-forward
basis,
and
that
is
something
frankly
that
in
this
day
and
age
and
in
this
world,
we
need
more,
oh
so,
Joanne
to
you
and
to
all
of
the
folks
who
are
part
of
your
team.
God
bless
you
for
all
the
work
that
you
do
and
thank
you
for
your
doing.
