From YouTube: Hyde Park 150th Anniversary Luncheon
Description
Mayor Walsh joins seniors at the Blue Hills Collaborative to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Hyde Park neighborhood. This event is the first of many upcoming events to commemorate the anniversary.
A
A
Happy
birthday,
Hyde,
Park,
I'm
honored
that
I
am
an
honorary
Hyde
Park
resident
hi.
My
name
is
Julie
Beckham
and
I
am
the
community
relations
manager
for
blue
hills,
bank,
and
some
of
you
know
that
I
have
recognized
some
of
you
from
my
consumer
protection
programs
and
what
you
might
not
know
is
that
I
wrote
a
musical
about
money
for
our
children
abusers
like
foundation,
so
I
thought
with
the
hundred
and
fiftieth,
let's
write
a
song
about
Hyde
Park
and
please
feel
free
to
sing
along.

Hundreds
of
hours
of
audience
again
there's
a
lot
of
great
people
from
our
neighborhood
who
are
here
supporting
it.
We're
very
excited
to
be
here
today
we
have
some
very
special
guests:
we're
going
to
introduce
I,
want
to
take
care
of
a
few
things
before
it
in
and
recognize
some
of
our
great
friends
for
our
elected
leaders,
who
have
been
the
Hyde
Park
champions.
Their
entire
career
here
in
our
city
was
so.

Always
been
a
number
one
priority
of
this
matter,
which
is
why
evolution
it
was
our
senior
director
of
senior
programs
is
such
an
amazing
person
she's
our
Commissioner.
She
has
been
fighting
tirelessly
three
years.
We
have
senior
citizens
all
across
Boston,
whether
people,
the
home
center
of
running
scams
or
making
sure
that
seniors
have
access
to
rides
and
things
of
that
nature.
She's
a
true
public
servant.
C
What
we
were
doing
and
what
we
do
in
the
elderly
Commission's
we
have
more
information,
raagh
Matt
outside
we
do
things
like
free
medical
transportation.
We
can
help
them
with
benefits.
Hope
you
with
housing,
search
lots
of
different
things.
So
please
take
a
take:
a
look
outside
and
figure
out
how
we
can
help
connect
you
to
information
and
resources.
C
C
Older
adults,
at
the
forefront
of
the
thinking
and
over
the
past
few
years
under
Mayor
Walsh,
we
have
been
able
to
create,
with
the
help
of
the
community.
After
hearing
from
4,000
people
over
50,
we
worked
with
the
community
to
create,
what's
called
an
age-friendly
action
plan.
We
have
75
things
that
we're
trying
to
do
to
make
Austin
and
even
to
live
well
and
age
well
under
mayor
wash.
So
please
join
me
in
a
warm
welcome.
A
man.
G
But
I
want
a
lot.
It's
that's
an
honor
to
be
here
today
and
I.
Know
I'm,
going
to
repeat
some
of
what's
been
said
already
from
different
people,
but
I
wanted
his
delegation
here
in
Hyde.
Park
is
unbelievable.
I
was
with
Tim
McCarthy
this
morning
earlier
we
were
up
at
George
Wright,
the
we
have
a
golf
tournament
Joy's
right
this
year.
It's
that
it's
the
junior
pros
that
are
coming
it's
a
high
park.
G
This
is
a
visitor
image
that
you
see
on
TV
and
they're
deciding
to
come
to
our
golf
courses
in
a
public
office,
both
in
George
Wright
in
a
Franklin
apartment
is
a
big
deal
for
Boston
and
I
was
up
at
the
Gulf
Trent,
both
of
us
this
morning
with
three
little
guys.
They
were.
They
were
golfing,
I,
think
about
ten
years
old.
Well,
as
11-1
was
12
and
they
were
up
there,
they're
all
excited
cuz.
They
were
out
of
school
this
morning
that
won
the
golf,
but
it
took
a
picture.
So
you
should
be
proud.
G
You
should
be
proud.
This
time
is
so
great.
I
want
to
thank
Angela,
Scott
Shaw
for
and
I've
said
this.
A
million
times
when
I
say
the
million
more
when
I
get
elected
to
the
house,
represent
you
get
a
seat
in
the
chamber
and
my
seat
was
119
and
the
person
to
my
left
was
in
toast,
gotcha
and
I
know
who
he
was
I
didn't
know
that
well,
I
know
because
we're
we
have
a
family
connection.
G
My
cousin
is
married
to
his
daughter,
his
daughter,
but
when
I
get
in,
there
can
taught
me
lessons
about
building
bridges
and
fast
forward.
16
years
later,
I'm
running
for
mayor
of
Boston
and
the
lessons
I
learned
from
him
and
helped
me
put
together
a
coalition
after
the
primary
to
help
me
win
the
mayor's
office.
So
I
want
to
thank
angels
and
support.
G
What
can
you
say
about
Robby
again,
I
met
Robbie
when
he
worked
me
in
those
office.
I
watched
him
as
a
city
councilor.
We
all
waited
from
man.
Running
Danny
was
running,
the
race,
never
got
bad
and
always
a
positive
race
and
I.
Had
the
good
fortune.
Robbie
went
to
work
in
the
private
sector
and
I
was
talking
one
day
and
I
said
you
know
how
you
like.
G
It's
already
missed
the
public
sector
as
I
love,
they
happy,
we
put
him
in
charge
of
home
center
and
what
he
did
there
was
was
help
create
a
program
to
senior
citizens
that
that
need.
If
you
have
a
house
that
that's
going,
you
need
help,
we
have
a
program,
is
zero
inches
long,
so
just
say
everyone
in
this
room.
If
you
have
a
boiler
in
a
house,
that's
old
and
you
want
help
grab
us
because
we
can
get
a
tunnel
in
the
summertime
and
it
shreds
energy-efficient.
G
Will
save
you
money
in
the
in
the
wintertime
when
the
wind,
the
snow
times
and
I,
want
to
thank
Robbie
for
all
that
now.
Robbie's,
the
chief
of
staff
at
the
Boston
Public
Schools
I'm,
having
somebody
there,
a
lot
of
grandchildren
running
the
schools
and
Rob
having
something
like
Robbie
Kazan,
one
that
understands
the
needs
of
city
kids
is
so
important.
So
thank
you.
G
The
ravine
Steve
and
also
an
incredible
trouble
with
the
what
Steve
does
is
he
registers
all
the
properties
so
we're
doing
Boston's
warming
right
now,
as
you
know,
and
we're
able
to
work
closely
with
the
Steve
on
on
what
the
needs
might
be
for
certain
housing
in
the
city
of
Boston.
Clearly,
this
piece
from
water
at
low
income
housing
in
the
city.
We
know
that
river
to
where
the
Steve's
office
and
all
that.
So
thank
you,
Steve.
All
that
you
do.
G
Chris
Hickey
guy
they
take
easy.
At
least
you
know,
father
father
Chris
came
over
the
Dorchester.
He
was
there
for
a
little
while
there
was
some
all
kinds
of
reconfigurations,
but
we
didn't
really
get
a
full
chance
to
Steve
I
eat
at
their
best.
But
I'll
tell
you
one
thing
that
I
couldn't
believe
his
first
NASA
sentry
in
stretch.
It
was
about
700
people
in
the
church
and
there
was
people
to
perish
once
you
that
followed
into
that
church,
and
you
can
tell
like
father
coin,
when
father
claim
that's
a
migratory
from
st.
G
G
My
crush
is
Michael
boy
over
here.
Mike's
in
the
midst
is
one
a
bunch
of
things:
the
Statehouse
working
a
whole
bunch
of
issues.
He
helped
us
sell
for
minister
in
the
budget
and
I
want
to
thank
you
for
what
you've
done
as
well.
I
know
it's
wrong,
I
hate
to
repeat
it
room,
but
I
have
to
because
the
people
that
I'm
talking
about
it's
a
partnership
were
working
together
on.
So
thank
you
in
pushing
for
your
great
work.
Mike
Capuano
is
in
Congress.
G
Today
is
what
Barbara's
yet
another
champion
for
us
on
transportation
issues,
we're
doing
we're
at
some
bridges
in
Washington
to
entire
some
of
that
money
from
the
states
on
that
in
the
city,
a
lot
of
that
lines
from
the
federal
government
that
water
was
able
to
get
years
ago,
Thank
You
Barbara
in
India
families,
for
for
sacrificing
having
a
husband
do
what
he
does.
So.
Thank
you
very
much.
G
He
did
call
me
can
I
take
coffee
is,
as
you
all
know,
the
time
in
this
year
and
a
great
friend
I
worked
closely.
The
family
names
of
San
counselors
hypotenuse,
the
da
Vinci
animators
America,
didn't
work
closely
with
them.
I
want
to
thank
tin
honestly,
for
what
he's
done
did
Colin
doesn't
get
the
credit
that
he
deserves.
What
he
did
in
the
district
attorney's
office
with
was
creating
the
programs
and
working
on
young
people
not
to
put
them
to
jail,
but
actually
help
them
reclaim
their
life.
He's
done
it
for
a
long
time.
G
G
To
enjoy
flowers,
Boston
sent
a
few
families,
Riverside
Theatre
Works,
all
the
great
organizations
that
help
us.
If
I
miss
you
I
apologize.
One
last
thing:
I'll
say
that
I'm
gonna
talk
real
quickly
on
Saturday
in
Logan
Square.
We
have
the
festival
on
the
streets.
There's
going
to
be
probably
a
thousand
people
there.
I
want
you
to
go
to
that.
If
you
can't,
because
we
want
to
be
able
to
tell
the
people
that
move
down
a
hypotenuse
you
to
stay.
G
This
is
a
special
neighborhood
I'm,
not
just
saying
it
I,
don't
say
it
every
neighborhood.
This
is
special
and
when
you
have
a
community
celebrating
the
importance,
I
grew
up
in
Dorchester
a
broken
st.
Martin
I
identify
myself
as
somebody
who
grew
up
in
st.
Mira's
parents.
People
who
grow
up
at
ipok
identified
it
one
more
st.
marqs
president.
We
do
identify
the
neighborhood
you
come
from.
What
makes
not
City
so
special
is
the
fact
that
we
identify
when
we
come
from
more
private.
What's
missing
today
in
Boston.
G
One
thing:
the
one
thing
that's
missing
today
in
Boston
is
that
identity.
We
have
a
lot
of
young
people
moving
into
the
communities
and
that's
great
for
our
city,
but
they
didn't
grow
up
like
a
lot
of
us.
My
whole
life
was
also
on
Oh.
My
whole
life
is
focused
around
my
neighborhood.
My
whole
life
is
focused
on
the
corner.
G
We
hunt
on
the
pocket
we
played
in
and
all
of
that
stuff
and
that's
what's
special
about
this
neighborhood,
because
whether
I'm
talking
to
Timmy
I'm
talking
to
Ravi
or
talk
about
a
father,
Hickey
other
Heaney,
family
or
anybody
I
think
they
talk
about
when
they
go
out
and
the
car
they
were
on.
Many
of
you,
you
helped
build
our
city,
the
people
in
this
room.
You
are
the
foundation
all
of
the
great
things
happening
on
our
city
right
now,
and
there
are
great
things
happen
our
state
right
now.
G
It's
because
of
you,
because
you
invested
in
this
neighborhood
because
you
stayed
in
this
able.
But
could
you
raise
your
family
in
this
neighborhood
and
I?
Just
wanna
be
happy
all
the
elected
officials
in
this
room.
I
want
to
thank
you
for
doing
that.
I
want
to
say,
happy
birthday
to
High,
Park
and
I
will
see
you
at
about
3,000
more.
