From YouTube: King Tut Announcement at City Hall
Description
Mayor Martin J. Walsh announces the reveal of the upcoming exhibit, King Tut: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh, coming to Boston this summer. Over 150 authentic artifacts from King Tut's tomb will be on display at the Saunders Castle at Park Plaza, but only for a limited time!
A
Good
morning,
everyone
welcome
I'm,
Martha
Sheridan
I'm,
the
president
and
CEO
of
the
Greater
Boston
Convention
and
Visitors
Bureau,
and
we're
thrilled
to
have
you
here
for
this
very
exciting
announcement.
Now,
as
we
all
know,
Boston
is
a
thriving
hub
for
education,
entertainment
and,
of
course,
arts
and
culture,
we're
home
to
world-class
museums,
historical
sites,
beautiful
parks
and
attractions
and,
of
course,
a
thriving
driving
arts
scene.
Every
year,
people
from
all
over
New
England
and
from
all
over
the
world
come
to
Boston
to
experience
all
that
we
have
to
offer,
and
today.
B
A
Officially
announcing
another
fantastic
addition
to
this
scene,
it's
an
exciting
exhibition
that
will
be
coming
to
Boston
in
2020
this
year
and
it's
an
important
piece,
as
you
can
see,
get
a
little
clue
here,
a
world
history
that
residents
and
visitors
alike
will
enjoy
and
now
to
make.
The
official
announcement
will
be
someone
who
has
done
an
extraordinary
amount
to
promote
arts
and
culture
in
our
city
and
tourism
and
to
make
Boston
and
even
more,
welcoming
and
vibrant
destination.
Please
welcome
our
mayor,
Martin
J
wall.
B
C
Let
me
just
let
me
just
first
of
all,
I
want
to
thank
monitoring
the
commitment
of
Europe,
but
for
their
great
work,
do
they
do
every
every
everyday
in
our
city.
Quite
honestly,
I
want
to
thank
everyone
for
being
here.
I
want
to
give
a
special
shout
out
to
the
kids.
Here
we
have
the
Amata
in
East
Boston.
C
I,
wonder
why
I
want
to
thank
all
the
kids
to
be
here
today
and,
as
Martha
said,
we
do
have
a
special
announcement
here
in
the
city
of
Boston
this
summer.
There's
going
to
be
a
very
important
cultural
attraction
coming
to
Boston
King
Todd
treasures
of
the
golden
Pharaoh
will
open
at
the
Saunders
Castle
at
the
Park
Plaza
we're
going
to
be
started.
It's
going
to
be
the
work
the
largest
exhibit
ever
to
belong
to
travel
outside
of
Egypt.
C
So
when
you
think
about
the
history,
I
know
the
young
people
that
are
here,
I,
remember
learning
about
Egypt.
Well
now,
when
I
was
young
in
school
learning
about
all
the
different
cultures
that
we
have,
and
here
in
Boston
we're
gonna
have
this
exhibit
it's
going
to
be
amazing.
It's
going
to
attract
visitors
from
all
over
New
England
and
it's
going
to
be
an
incredible
opportunity
for
educational
resource
for
our
families
in
our
schools.
So
I'd
like
to
congratulate
you.
I
also
want
to
give
a
shout
out.
C
We
have
stay,
represent
Danny
Ryan
from
Johnstown
yeah.
Thank
you
Dan
and
a
lot
of
other
folks.
So
a
couple
things
we're
gonna
do
today
we're
going
to
write
the
students
to
help
me
unveil
the
big
news,
then
we're
going
to
give
tickets
out
to
the
students
and
then
we're
going
to
take
some
pictures.
I'm
gonna
hand,
tickets
off
how's.
That
sounds
and
then
we're
gonna
hardly
enough
to
get
you
guys
back
to
class
because
you
got
you
missing
class
right
now.
Right
and
you're
wicked
upset
about
it.
Yeah
I,
don't
know
about
that.
All.
D
A
B
C
Of
Boston
and
beyond,
to
learn
about
worlds
histories,
instead
of
literally
oh
I
want
to
thank
all
the
organizers
inviting
free
tickets
to
hundreds
of
our
students
that
again,
both
in
Boston
and
Weymouth
Boston
is
very
proud
to
host
this
attraction.
We're
a
city,
that's
the
only
city
in
the
Northeast
and
the
United
States
to
host
it,
and
that's
why
I
think
we're
gonna
see
visitors
from
all
over
the
country,
quite
honestly,
coming
to
our
ceiling
to
see
this
exhibit.
This
is
exciting
again.
I
want
to
thank
everyone
as
possible.

the

will

and
I

Who
can
tell

more.
D
On
behalf
of
IMG,
the
producers
and
organizers
of
King
Tut
treasures
of
the
Golden
Arrow,
we
are
very
happy
to
be
here
making
this
announcement
in
Boston
today.
This
exhibition
is
by
far
the
largest
and
most
ambitious
version
of
the
kingdom
tour.
Ever
there
will
be
more
than
150
authentic
objects
on
display
and
by
late
in
person.
That
is
three
times
the
that
has
ever
to
her
before.
In
addition,
there
are
more
than
60
pieces
that
until
now
have
never
left
Egypt,
including
the
real
version
of
this
super-sized
giant,
the
Guardian
statue.
D
The
guardian
statue
stood
for
close
to
3,000
years,
barring
the
burial
chamber
in
the
tomb
in
1922
Howard
Carter,
the
Egyptologist
captivated
the
world
when
he
discovered
this.
Do
we
still
today?
It
is
the
only
ancient
Egyptian
tomb
that
has
been
found
fully
intact,
fast-forward
to
1963
Austin
played
host
to
an
early
iteration
of
the
exhibition,
and
while
it
only
had
a
fraction
of
the
objects
and
was
only
near
a
month,
some
of
you
might
remember
that
event
and
be
very
excited
to
introduce
a
new
generation
of
Boston
Tonio's
to
the
tech.
D
Magic
continues
to
be
popular
millions
attended,
two
tours
in
the
early
2000s
and
yes,
tut
mania
continues.
Today.
We
recently
concluded
our
engagement
in
Paris
and
we
are
very
proud
to
say.
We
set
a
new
record
for
exhibition
attendance
in
the
country
of
France
1.4
million
visitors
1.4
now
I
know
that
Boston
has
a
great
competitive
spirit.
I
know
that
Boston
votes
to
win
and
I
know
that
Boston
loves
a
good
challenge.
So
what
are
you
saying?
We're
gonna
break
the
1.4
million.
D
D
As
you
can
imagine,
a
cultural
project
of
this
endeavour
size
and
scope.
This
takes
a
great
team,
but
there's
a
few
folks
who
have
been
very
instrumental
to
this
project
here
in
Boston
as
I
introduce
you.
If
you
could.
Please
join
me
up
here,
we're
going
to
take
a
picture
underneath
our
new
friend
I'd
like
to
start
off
with
Lisa
Saunders
senior
vice
president.
D
Over
the
years
world-class
organization,
so
influential
in
helping
us
bring
the
project
Boston
the
Massachusetts
page
friends
in
authority,
as
the
mayor
mentioned,
providing
a
discount
on
fares
to
cut
ticket
buyers
and
certainly
the
growth
loop
for
helping
us
organize
this
event.
Today
and
many
times
to
Mayor
Walsh,
the
entire
team,
all
the
Massachusetts
office
of
Horseman
travel
and
the
frost
OCD.
