A
A
B
Good
evening,
everyone
so
very
excited.
We
have
some
great.
B
We
have
some
great
honorees
this
evening,
we're
very
excited
to
meet
lots
of
our
AP
kids
as
well
as
our
our
regeneron
semi-finalist,
but
before
we
do
I'd
like
to
introduce
first,
the
the
proud
principal
of
Northeast
Elementary,
who
is
going
to
introduce
a
young
lady,
Laura,
Martinez,
I
I
will
just
give
you
a
little
personal
at
a
station
here,
I
had
the
fortune
to
go
to
Northeast
concert
prior
to
prior
to
Christmas
and
Laura
Martinez
sang
silent
night
in
Spanish
and
I
I.
B
To
be
quite
honest
with
you,
I
had
tears
in
my
eyes
and
goosebumps
up
my
arms.
It
was
probably
the
most
and
I'm
not
just
saying
this
is
probably
the
most
beautiful
rendition
of
silent
night
I've
ever
heard,
and
we
had
a
board
meeting
right
after
that
and
I
said
to
the
board.
We
have
to
have
Laura
to
the
next
business
meeting.
They
absolutely
agreed.
So
we
are
excited
to
hear
Laura
is
going
to
sing
two
songs
for
us
this
evening,
but
I
I.
C
Hi
everyone
I,
am
the
proud
principal
welcome
before
I
introduce
Laura
I,
just
like
to
tell
you
that
the
first
time
I
heard
Laura
Singh
was
at
our
Hispanic
heritage
celebration.
She
came
to
my
office
and
she
sang
on
the
over
the
loudspeaker
to
the
entire
School
and
about
30
seconds.
In
the
same
thing
happened
to
me:
I
welled,
up
and
I
started,
crying
I
was
so
overcome
and
I
know
you
will
be
too
because
when
Laura
sings,
you
just
feel
her
and
her
heart
and
she
sings
with
the
motion.
C
C
E
E
F
E
E
D
E
E
E
G
F
C
B
You
happy
you,
have
you
have
some
floor.
B
A
G
B
H
All
right
good
evening,
ladies
and
gentlemen,
and
thank
you
for
having
us
tonight
what.
H
But
I
will
do
some
presentations
all
right,
so
every
fall.
The
AP
program
recognizes
high
school
students
who
have
demonstrated
outstanding
college
level
achievement
through
their
performance
in
multiple
AP
exams.
Ap
scholar
Awards
come
in
different
levels
and
types
so
I'm
going
to
announce
the
first
group
and
ask
them
to
please
come
on
up.
The
first
group
was
our
AP
Scholars,
and
this
is
granted
to
students
who
receive
scores
of
of
three
or
higher
on
three
or
more
AP
exams.
I
H
F
H
H
H
H
So
one
other
thing
I'd
like
to
mention
before
we
congratulate
them
further-
is
that
this
is
at
the
end
of
11th
grade.
So
many
of
these
students,
all
of
them,
are
still
taking
probably
two
or
three
AP
exams.
Raise
your
hand
if
you're
taking
two
APA
exams
this
year,
two
two
more:
how
about
one
more
they're,
all
taking
multiple
AP
exams?
That's
right!
So,
at
the
end
of
this
year,
some
of
what
AP
Scholars
will
be
recognized
further,
but
they
won't
be
willing
to
be
in
college.
H
So
one
more
thing
I
like
to
do
is
just
thank
all
the
teachers
that
have
taught
these
students
their
incredible
teachers.
Like
AP
teachers
are
Second,
To,
None
So.
You
guys
give
your
teachers
a
round
of
applause,
you're,
fantastic
foreign.
J
Met
with
college
board
this
week
and
they
shared
some
stats
with
us,
and
one
thing
that
stuck
out
to
me
is
that
they
mentioned
that
students
who
are
exposed
to
at
least
one
AP
course
go
on
to
graduate
from
college
with
their
bachelor's
degree,
at
a
rate
of
155
percent,
more
than
students
who
don't
have
the
exposure.
So
our
students
here
that
have
set
for
and
scored
at
extremely
high
levels
on
three
or
more
AP
exams,
sitting
through
the
course
getting
through
the
the
the
dedication
and
commitment
to
getting
through
that
coursework.
A
B
I
would
just
like
to
congratulate
the
AP
Scholars.
That
is
really
an
incredible
feat
just
to
achieve
a
three-on-one
exam,
but
to
achieve
it
on
multiples.
The
amount
of
work
that
you
guys
put
into
it
is
incredibly
impressive.
So
congratulations,
ladies
and
gentlemen,
really
absolutely
fabulous.
Now.
This
one
deserves
a
standing
ovation
as
well.
B
B
G
B
B
B
Right,
so
we
are
really
excited
this
evening
to
honor
a
young
lady.
Actually,
she
was
just
here
she's
an
AP
scholar,
so
this
is
no
surprise
that
she's
also
a
semi-finalist
in
the
science,
the
National
Science
contest,
which
is
called
regeneron.
It's
really
an
incredible
honor
for
for
it's
really
an
incredible
recognition
that
manahil
was
chosen
from
thousands
of
students
across
the
country
to
be
one
of
300
semi-finalists
in
the
science
regeneron
contest.
B
I
also
want
to
thank
Dr,
grella
she's,
not
here
this
evening,
but
I
want
to
thank
Carr
because
of
her
dedication.
We
actually
had
11
submissions
and
since
she's
taken
over
as
a
research
teacher,
we've
had
over
a
hundred
submissions,
we've
been
a
semi-finalist
more
times
than
I
can
count.
We've
had
semi-final,
we've
had
a
finalists
as
well,
and
we
pray
that
Monaco
will
be
one
of
them
we'll
find
out
next
week.
But
it's
really
an
incredible
achievement
since
we've
started
this
program
now
about
20
years
ago.
B
To
have
this
many
research
students
recognize
for
their
work
across
the
country,
and
menahil
is
just
the
the
last
in
a
string
of
successes
so
without
further
Ado.
Let
me
introduce
now
the
the
very
proud
acting
principal
of
the
high
school
Dr
Doolin.
J
The
lotioner
and
the
Board
of
Education,
so
over
the
last
several
years
we
have
witnessed
the
tenacity
and
the
strong
work
ethic
of
all
of
our
students
and
our
research
program.
This
year,
specifically,
we
watched
our
senior
students
collect
their
data,
perform
their
analysis,
write
and
rewrite,
and
edit
delete
revise
their
work
until
they
perfected
it
to
the
point
that
they
felt
comfortable,
submitting
it
to
the
regeneron
committee
for
review
so
proudly
I
share.
J
Last
week
we
received
notification
that
one
of
our
students
was
a
regeneron
science,
Talent
search,
semi-finalist,
managel,
Tariq,
Minot
Hill
may
look
familiar
to
many
of
you
yeah.
She
was
just
up
here
as
an
AP
scholar,
but
she
also
serves
as
the
Board
of
Education
liaison
for
the
high
school.
She
was
recognized
as
one
of
300
students
internationally
to
be
named
a
regeneron
scholar.
J
J
J
Is
not
able
to
be
present
with
us
tonight,
she
did
send
a
letter
that
she
would
like
to
share
with
Minot
Hill
to
Minot
Hill.
It
is
with
my
great
pleasure
and
Pla
Pride
that
I
compose
this
letter
to
you.
I
am
with
you
tonight
in
spirit
and
I
can
assure
you
that
this
is
just
the
beginning
of
many
accolades.
You
will
receive
first
and
foremost,
you
did
it
your
regeneron
science,
Talent
search
semi-finalist.
You
have
made
us
all
Brentwood
proud.
J
Your
win
is
not
just
a
win
for
you,
but
a
win
for
the
district
as
it
showcases
how,
together
we
can
achieve
success.
You
are
in
the
top
300
with
18
500
students,
thousands
of
teachers
and
leaders
beside
you
way
to
go
Minot
Hill.
You
are
the
face
of
Hope
change
and
encouragement
for
all
those
who
have
ever
thought.
Things
like
this
are
not
possible.
J
Dr
grella
would
like
to
say
you.
Yes,
you
can
in
Urdu
I'll
leave
that
to
her,
for
when
you
see
her
on
Monday,
you
have
sought
Sciences
an
outlet
as
a
path
to
success
and,
more
importantly,
laid
a
foundation
for
others
to
follow
suit.
Your
humbleness
willingness
to
serve
others
and
perseverance
are
admirable
qualities.
You
are
not
afraid
of
the
questions
or
being
questioned.
In
fact
you
live
for
them.
I,
encourage
you
to
keep
asking
questions,
keep
following
your
scientific
Pursuits
and
always
strive
to
make
a
difference.
As
best
stated
by
Reina.
J
Maria
recall,
live
the
questions
now.
Perhaps
you
will
then
gradually
without
noticing
it
live
along
some
distant
day
into
the
answer
may
not
help
you
embody
the
spirit
and
determination
it
represents
Brentwood.
You
are
the
face
of
Brentwood.
You
have
great
perseverance
dedication
but,
more
importantly,
you
are
a
Beacon
of
Hope
for
those
who
follow.
Over
the
past
three
years,
I
have
watched
you
grow
into
a
fine
young
scientist.
You
have
showcased
to
not
only
the
community,
but
now
the
country
that
given
an
opportunity,
anything
is
possible.
J
B
Now,
if,
if
I
could
I'm
going
to
ask
managel
if
you
could
just
spend
a
few
moments
going
over
your
project,
but
before
you
do
I
just
want
to
say
that
manahil
is,
as
was
mentioned,
is
has
been
the
student
liaison
and
I've
got
to
know.
Mana
Hill
a
little
bit
over
the
last
few
months
and
I
have
to
say
she
is
one
of
the
kindest
most
humble
people.
B
I've
ever
had
the
pleasure
of
meeting,
and
so
she
really
is
just
a
terrific
terrific
Ambassador
for
the
Brentwood
School
District,
and
we
are
incredibly
incredibly
proud
of
you
managio.
But
now
I'm
going
to
ask
you
if
you
could
possibly
dumb
it
down
for
the
rest
of
us
and
please
explain.
First
of
all,
you
have
to
give
us
the
title
in
Latin,
because
it's
incredible
but
then,
if
you
could
or
if
you
don't
have
to-
but
if
you
could
just
you
know,
spend
just
a
few
moments.
L
L
L
It's
been
a
coastal
Invader
for
the
last
five
years
and
in
my
project,
I
took
this
Invader
and
I
compared
it
to
some
native
species
of
alga.
We
had
I
analyzed
their
carbon
nitrogen
phosphorus
nutrient
levels,
comparing
the
Invader
to
our
Native
algae,
and
what
I
found
was
that
this
this
Invader
sequestered
carbon,
so
it
took
in
carbon
from
the
environment
at
a
far
higher
rate
compared
to
its
native
counterparts.
L
So
as
a
algae
that
goes
through
the
process
of
eutrophication
and
becomes
becomes,
a
part
becomes
a
part
of
eutrophication,
but
it
also
creates
red,
tie,
blooms
and
algae
blooms,
which
lead
to
not
only
environmental
issues
but
economic
issues
for
Coastal
economies
such
as
Fisheries
or
tourist
Industries.
So
what
I
wanted
to
see
with
my
project
is
what
is
this
Invader
doing
to
our
community
and
how
can
we
take
this
Invader
and
turn
it
into
something
good?
L
So
what
I
found
was
that
there's
many
forms
of
reusable
reusable
ways
that
we
can
take
algae
and
recycle
it
into
biofuels
and
other
water
quality
monitoring
forms
so
yeah,
that's
pretty
much
it.
That
is
incredible.
B
I
I
told
you
that
was
I
understood
about
half
of
that,
but
an
incredible
and
in
Minot
Hill,
along
with
the
other
research
students,
actually
spend
a
considerable
amount
of
time
over
the
summer
time
at
Sunken,
Meadow
State
Park,
where
they're
knee-deep
in
the
lagoons
out
there,
and
they
are
just
incredible
scientists
and
as
Dr
grella
refers
to
them
as
that
they
are
scientists
and,
as
you
can
tell,
manah,
Hill
is
incredibly
bright
and
and
also
what
she
does
have
to
do
is
present
the
project.
And
these
are
not
any
small
projects.
A
I
just
wanted
to
say
there's
something
that
Dr
gorilla
spoke
of
in
her
paper
and
her
letter
to
manaju
rather,
and
it's
that
hope
makes
everything
possible
right.
So
if
there's
one
takeaway
for
me
for
tonight-
and
maybe
for
my
colleagues
and
maybe
individuals
in
the
audience-
is
that
and
Brentwood
we're
instilling
hope
and
letting
our
students
know
that
anything's
possible.
L
Just
quickly
I
just
wanted
to
say
thank
you
to
the
board
for
honestly
supporting
the
research
program
and
supporting
all
of
us.
I
wanted
to
talk
thank
Dr
Gala,
but
I
also
want
to
thank
my
mom
and
dad
who
are
both
here.
L
Honestly
yeah,
if
I'm
being
honest,
this
project
definitely
would
not
have
been
possible
without
them.
My
dad
he's
the
one
who
woke
up
five
o'clock
every
weekend,
just
to
drive
me
to
Sunken
Meadow.
So
thank
you
for
that
and
just
thank
you.
Everyone.
G
G
A
So
I
know
we
Embark
every
year
with
submissions
right
for
the
regeneron
contest
and
I
know.
We've
had
some
conversation
about
this,
but
we've
had
Brentwood
itself
has
had
the
most
semi-finalists
and
finalists
in
all
of
Suffolk
County.
So
that's
something
to
be
super
proud
of
town
advice.
B
A
Me,
town
of
Iceland,
that's
something
to
be
super
proud
of
so
you
know
I
hope.
Angie
Carpenter
is
listening
in
this
evening.
He.
B
A
That's
right
a
news
day
and
Long
Island
news
hope
you're
listening
to
this,
because
we
definitely
need
some
positive
press
for
our
district,
but
also
recognition.
You
know
we
don't
we
don't
do
our
horn
at
all
I
think
enough.
B
B
Well,
I
have
to
be
honest:
I
I
do
bring
it
up
all
the
time
at
superintendent's
meetings,
I
try
to
drop
that
in
there
as
much
as
possible.
So
it's.
A
I
know
how
many
I
have,
but
the
point
is
that
we
wanna
we
want
those
same
accolades
that
other
districts
get
right.
Why
not?
Why
not
Brentwood
so
I
would
challenge
if
Miss
Carpenter
is
watching
or
Jorge
cuadron.
So
please
contact
us
because
we
definitely
have
some
ideas
on
how
you
can
help
celebrate
Brentwood.
So
with
that
being
said,
we'll
move
forward
to
our
student
Liaisons
Jose
Hildago,
Burgos
and
menahil
Tariq.
A
A
Right
knowledge
is
power.
We
got
to
bring
up
that.
You
know
continue
that
Brentwood
Pride
momentum
right.
So
the
more
knowledge
you
have
about
your
community
and
how
great
your
school
district
is
you'll
feel
empowered
to
come
to
our
meetings.
Ask
us
questions,
volunteer,
yeah
and
know
that
your
kids
are
getting
a
quality
education.
A
N
We're
seniors
from
memory
High,
School
additional
say
since
we're
done
this
month
in
the
high
school
new
items
such
as
barbecue
pulled
turkey
and
pork
were
taste
it
visible.
Improvements
were
seen
with
very
good
feedback
from
both
students
and
staff.
Also,
this
month
the
high
school
started
Wellness
Wednesday,
in
which
the
school
psychologists
have
been
working
with
on
graded
students
on
Wednesdays,
under
mental
health
overall,
improving
the
nice
and
safe
environment.
L
Next
year
there
were
many
new
classes
that
were
introduced
this
year,
that
new
students
such
as
sophomores
and
upcoming
freshmen
do
not
know
about
so
anyone
that
is
interested
in
viewing
these
can
see
them
on
the
YouTube
channel
in
in
the
high
school's
YouTube
channel
and,
furthermore,
we'd
like
to
ask
if
the
board
has
come
to
a
decision
or
a
path
in
which
they
would
like
to
move
regarding
our
school's
logo.
L
During
the
last
board
meeting,
we
discussed
that
the
board
had
two
options
in
which
they
would
like
to
go.
So
we
were
just
wondering
if
there
was
any
updates
with
that.
M
It's
still
exploring
whether
sorry
we're
still
exploring
whether
we
will
be
able
to
keep
our
name
because,
primarily
we
don't
have
a
mascot.
We
do
have
a
a
name
that
we
use
that
is
tied
to
the
indigenous
community.
So
as
soon
as
we
finish,
those
investigations
we'll
be
able
to
report
back
and
then,
if
that's
not
the
case,
we'll
initiate
some
kind
of
action.
L
I
just
wanted
to
let
you
know
that
there
have
been
discussions
in
classrooms
regarding
new
logos
or
a
mascot
if
we,
if
you
do,
choose
to
move
in
that
direction.
L
For
example,
in
our
AP
Lake
classroom,
one
of
the
other
teachers
that
uses
it.
His
classroom
I've
been
discussing
new
mascots
they've,
created
posters
and
idea
boards,
so
students
overall
are
really
looking
forward
to
a
decision.
Thank.

B
Okay
good
evening
again,
ladies
and
gentlemen,
as
I
say
every
single
month,
there's
lots
of
happenings
I
do
want
to
say,
there's
lots
of
sports
activities
when
I,
actually
don't
have
them
here
and
happy
happenings,
but
I
know
our
our
girls
and
boys.
Basketball
team
are
doing
quite
well
also.
Our
fencing
team,
boys
and
girls-
fencing
they're,
actually
fencing
this
evening
at
six
o'clock
and
they
are
currently
in
second
place,
so
they
have
made
the
playoffs
so
that
we're
pretty
excited
about
that.
B
Our
wrestling
team
also
they
are
they're,
just
a
great
match.
Yesterday
a
couple
of
great
matches.
Yesterday
they
beat
Seville.
Now
they
are
the
Dual,
the
Dual
meat
champions
league
league.
They
are
League
champion.
Oh
this,
this
Saturday
is
the
league
is
a
dual
me
yeah,
I,
there's
so
many
accolades
a
wrestling
program
is
incredible.
We'll
also
be
you
know,
honoring
them
at
a
future
board
meeting
as
well,
because
they
just
had
a
great
run.
So
I
do
anticipate
that
we
have
lots
of.
B
B
Titles,
but
they
are
terrific
they're
they're
wrestling
this
weekend
as
well
and,
like
I,
said
the
fencing
will
also
be
in
the
playoffs
and
we'll
keep
you
informed
in
terms
of
the
basketball
how
they're
doing
as
well.
Our
swim
team
is
terrific.
Also
you
know
so
we
we've
really
and
our
swim
team.
Just
so
you
know
we
partner
with
the
Bayshore
High
School
two.
We
combine
both
student
bodies.
So
congratulations
to
the
special
education
teacher,
Association
SEPTA
and
Southeast
Elementary
School,
who
were
both
honored
on
Thursday
January
12th.
B
At
the
president's
in
principal's
dinner.
They
both
received
the
Savvy
membership
award
by
the
New
York
State
parent
teacher
Association
for
not
only
meeting
their
membership
goal
but
exceeding
expectations,
and
we
have
the
principal
of
Southeast
Elementary,
School,
Mr,
okay,
congratulations,
Mr,
dang,.
Q
But
then
you
had
to
have
current
bylaws.
You
had
to
have
like
your
insurance
up
to
date,
so
with
Southeast
Elementary
we
had.
B
Active
a
wonderful
thing,
the
whole
thing
wow,
congratulations
great
stuff,
so
the
Brentwood
Union

District
Human

Department
joined

tonight
in
the

information
on

in
the

Do
you
want
to
expand
on
that?
A

bit
Miss
Young?
R

B
140
students
from
across
the
district,
shared
original
essays,
poetry
and
artwork
parents
and
students
can
view
the

that
was
sent
via

earlier
this
week.
I
don't
know
if
I
have
this
here,
but
we
also
will
will
be
bringing
to
the
board
very
shortly.
A
young
lady
over
at
the
Freshman
Center,
who
submitted
a
poster
and
artwork
really
did
you
get,
did
I
share
with
you
folks.
It
was
absolutely
outstanding
right,
Miss
Ortiz.
Did
you
see
that
it
was?
You
know,
Martin
Luther,
King
art
contest
the
one
that
was
in
Newsday.
B
That
was
a
news
day
right
and
really
just.
B
B
The
interpretation
was
was
beautiful,
so
on
Tuesday,
January
17th
North
Elementary
hosted
technology
night
for
parents
of
children
in
grades,
one
and
two
parents
learned
how
to
navigate
the
various
computer-based
programs
available
to
their
children
as
well
as
parent
square
and
the
parent
portal,
while
the
Brentwood
High
School
held
the
curriculum
night
last
night,
along
with
Twin
Pines
and
Northeast
schools
that
will
also
hold
special
events.
Twin
Pines
Elementary
hosted
a
dynamic
family
literacy
night
and
Northeast
held
a
Winter
Wonderland
theme
family
story
night,
terrific
stuff.
B
We
also
still
have
many
of
our
schools-
are
having
concerts
too
in
the
month
of
January
I
believe
South,
Middle
School
might
even
be
this
evening.
Unfortunately,
and
this
evening
we
also
are
proud
to
announce
that
our
national
foreign
language,
National
Honor
Society
students
met
Miss
Ortiz,
how
many
kids
were
honored
close
to
100
for
Spanish,
Italian
and
French?
B
So
congratulations
that
was
unfortunately
this
evening.
Yes
also
this
week,
North
Middle,
School's,
7th
grade
band
and
Orchestra
performed
for
a
packed
house,
and
tonight,
oh,
they
were
special
events.
I
didn't
realize
that
I
should
have
jumped
ahead.
Congratulations
to
the
new
members
inducted
into
the
national
Honor

The

and

their

this

B
B
A
Wanted
to
remind
the
community
at
home,
the
chat
room
is
open.
So
if
you
have
you
have
concerns,
which
is,
please
feel
free
to
contact
us.
We
have
one
question
from
a
parent:
what
time
does
the
board
meeting
start?
We
apologize
for
coming
out
late.
Theoretically,
our
board
meetings,
our
public
session,
that
is
start
at
8
pm.
A
However,
there
are
times
where
we
may
be
running
a
little
behind.
We
hope
not
more
than
10
minutes,
but
it
will
happen
on
occasion
we're
taking
our
responsibility,
our
responsibilities
as
board
members
serious,
so
we're
making
a
lot
of
decisions
in
the
room
back
there
and
and
trying
to
make
good
decisions
for
our
district,
our
students,
our
community,
our
parents,
our
staff,
so
at
times
it
will
take
us
a
little
longer
than
the
two
hours
we
allow
and
we
apologize
for
that.
But
we
do
do
our
best.
We
do
our
best
yeah
yeah.
A
K
O
Okay,
so
I've
mentioned
this
before
regarding
the
nurses
who
work
in
our
district
and
I've
noticed
that
they
come
and
they
go,
and
it's
always
the
same
excuse
which
is
pay,
which
is
actually
a
very
big
excuse.
O
I
understand
the
last
time
you
guys
said
it's,
because
you
look
and
see
what
other
nurses
in
other
districts
get
paid,
and
you
feel
that
you
pretty
much
match
what
they
get
paid,
but
to
me
having
a
child
in
the
district
that
has
many
severe
allergies
and
pretty
severe
asthma
as
well.
This
topic
hits
a
little
different
when
someone
in
a
school
gets
to
know
my
kid
and
my
daughter
feels
comfortable
taking
medication
from
someone
and
they
come
and
they
go
I
feel
that
as
a
district,
we
could
do
better.
O
We
have
hired
people
in
the
food
service
department
for
more
money.
Okay,
these
nurses
go
to
school.
They
also
have.
What
is
it
school?
You
know
they're
paying
for
their
school
as
well.
What
they
get
paid
is
to
work
in
a
you
know
in
the
district
or
in
a
school,
is
pretty
insulting,
so
I
do
understand
why
they
leave.
G
B
B
Much
we
actually
I
I,
you
know,
have
to
say
I'm
surprised
at
that
I
mean
you
know.
Last
year
we
actually
the
board
of
education,
gave
the
nurses
a
a
very
significant
raise
so
I'm
a
little
disappointed,
I
understand
that
it
will
never
be
on
par
with
a
hospital
nurse.
B
Not
right-
and
you
know
we
did
take
a
look
at
the
surrounding
areas
and
we're
actually
we
exceed
all
but
one
school
district.
That
actually,
you
know,
is
some
a
number
that
we
can
actually
get
close
to,
but
I
appreciate
what
you're
saying
I'll
certainly
talk
to
the
nurses.
Again,
we
actually
like
I,
said
we
closed
their
contract
last
year
and
and
we
thought
we
did
fairly
well
on
that
now
in
terms
of
the
nurses
we
are
always
looking
for
nurses,
however,
I
think
we're
fully
staffed
at
this
we're
missing.
B
It
is
a,
it
is
a
lot
yes
it
there
are.
There
is
a
shortage
of
School
nurses
and
we're
having
we
do
have
a
difficult
time.
The
pay
like
I
said,
is
not
fabulous,
but.
O
B
It
is,
you
know,
you're,
not
Incorrect,
and
you
know
I'm,
certainly
not
arguing
that
they're
getting
you
know
either
they're
getting
paid
commiserate
with
a
nurse
at
a
hospital.
Yes,
but
I.
Think
the
Board
of
Education
I
think
the
school
district
is
trying
to
bring
them
up
as
much
as
possible.
So
I
I
do.
B
Needs
to
be
worked
on,
I,
understand
and,
and
you
are
I'm
not
even
discounting
what
you
said.
Many
of
them
do
leave
for
pay
I
think
they
realize
that
they
can
probably
do
better.
At
you
know
at
a
hospital
even
potentially
some
doctor's
office,
they
are
it's
a
very
competitive
world.
Right
now
for
nurses,
my
wife's,
a
nurse
over
in
Good
Sam
they're,
desperate
for
nurses
there
yeah,
so
they
kind
of
are
in
the
driver's
seat
now
in
terms
of
negotiating,
so
that
I
know
they
are
leaving
for
other
other
places.
B
A
T
Of
tea,
it
might
be
other
factors,
you
know
so.
Yeah.
B
A
O
Another
mom
wrote
on
the
Brentwood,
moms
and
dads
group
today
about
how
disappointed
she
was
because
you
guys
were
not
able
to
attend
tonight
for
the
national
language,
Honor
Society
induction.
Yes,.
A
A
And
is
being
corrected
in
the.
M
Just
so,
you
know
to
clear
to
make
it
perfectly
clear
that
we
were
doing
in
our
executive
session
during
that
presentation,
so
we
are
going
to
try
and
prevent
those
conflicts.
B
Yes,
we're
gonna
do
a
much
much
better
job
I've
been
guaranteed
by
all
involved
next
year.
The
Board
of
Education
will
not
have
conflicts
with
you
know
large
events
like
a
National,
Honor
Society.
We
can't
guarantee
that
there
might
not
be
you
know,
minor
events
across
the
district
that
have
to
come
occur
on
a
Thursday
evening,
but
some
of
the
major
events,
particularly
in
the
high
school.
We
will
ensure
that
the
board
of
education
is
free
to
attend
those
events.
B
B
Did
make
it?
Yes,
the
fury
made
it
it's
part
of
our
meeting,
and
you
know
we
obviously
all
couldn't,
but
next
year
it
won't
happen
again.
I.
O
Mean
one
last
thing
so
remember
how
you
mentioned
how
if
Angie
Carpenter
was
watching
and
how
you
wanted
to
do.
All
of
that.
You
know
what
our
surrounding
Islip
Community.
They
call
news
12.
when
something
like
this
is
going
on.
Someone
should
be
in
charge
of
calling
News
12,
so
they
can
show
up
when
somebody's
getting
an
award
instead
of
knocking
on
our
door
when
they
hear
something.
A
S
B
We
actually
also
were
in
the
patch,
and
you
know
one
of
the
things
that
we
charged
him
with
the
some
of
the
local
papers
like
the
home
Shopper,
and
we
are
actually
in
the
home
Shopper
for
the
first
time
ever
also,
he
is
responsible
for
the
Newsday
article
that
came
out.
So
that
was
a
great.
You
know,
that's
great
insight
into
self-harald,
but
we
are.
A
R
S
Good
evening,
everyone
and
congratulations
to
all
of
the
community
members
and
parents
who
are
honored
tonight,
fantastic
District,
as
we
all
know-
and
you
raised
a
good
point
Hassan,
because
we
talk
about
the
fact
that
the
board
members
can't
go
to
certain
events,
because
they're
an
exact
session
and
many
people
don't
know
exactly
what
we're
talking
about
when
we
say
that
right.
S
G
S
That's
why
you
see
them
voting
on
different
agenda
items
and
resolutions,
but
a
good
portion
of
it
is
handled
behind
the
scenes
in
executive
session,
because
there
are
certain
items
that
are
confidential,
that
can't
be
talked
about
in
a
public
setting,
but
those
decisions
are
many
times
crucial
and
very
important.
So
examples
would
be
collective
bargaining
agreements.
The
board
will
talk
about
that
in
executive
session
items
involving
specific
employees
are
talked
about
in
executive
session,
because,
of
course,
we
don't
reveal
confidential
information
about
employees
in
public
when
we're
talking
about
pending
litigation.
S
That's
something
that
the
board
may
need
to
strategize
with
legal
counsel
about,
and
that's
also
private.
There
are
times
when
the
board
May
seek
advice
from
either
myself
as
general
counsel
or
from
Neil
block
as
labor
Council
about
different
issues,
and
that
attorney-client
privilege
needs
to
be
maintained,
which
is
why
that
is
also
private.
S
So,
although
they
are
behind
the
scenes-
and
you
may
be
wondering
what
they're
doing
from
six
to
eight
o'clock
I
can
assure
you
that
it's
very
important
work
that
they
are
not
having
fun,
they
are
doing
the
very
difficult
task
of
making
those
important
decisions
and
I
know
that
they
wish
they
could
have
been
at
the
Honor
Society
event.
Tonight.
I
know
that
Mr
loshner
and
the
board
president
will
be
working
to
address
that
situation
in
the
future.
