Quarry
Road
is
looking
pretty
trashy
lately
and
we
might
want
to
consider
a
cleanup
out
there
at
some
future
time.
We
also
you
know
it's
hard
to
know
where
this
is
coming
from,

there
appears

be
human
waste
deposited
right
along
the
roadway.
There's
lots
of
toilet
paper
out
there,
so
it
seems
to
be
turning
into
an
outdoor
potty

issues

Quarry
Road,
not

there

three
big
bags
of
trash
out
there

desperately
needs

it's

hazard

in
about
two
weeks
ago
and
so
forth.
So
far,
I
have
not
gotten
an
acknowledgment
email,
so
I
don't
know.

correspondence

received
from
a
local
resident.
They
wished
to
remain
anonymous,
but
they
were
inquiring
about
a
local
ban
on
gas

blowers

we
advised
them
that
we
had
discussed

past

there
was
a
state
ban
on
their
sale
coming,
but
they
they
did
say
that
they
would
support
a
local
ban
on
their
use.
So
adding
that
to
the

I
I
have
not
received
any
other

they

maintain
the
poles
and
wires
and
the
electricity
grid
and
send
you
a
bill
and
then,
as
our
customers,
you
benefit
from
getting
cleaner
energy
and
save
a
little
bit
of
money
on
your
energy
bill,

the
best
part
is
that
you
don't
need
to
sign
up
it's
an
automatic
benefit
of
living
in
San,
Mateo
County.
And
so,
if
you
see
us
on
your
energy
bill,
that's
how
you
know
that
you're
benefiting
next
slide.

so
here's
some
really
exciting
stats
out
of
Brisbane
and
so
across
our
whole.
All
of
our
customers.
We've
saved
our
customers
over
107
million
dollars
in
savings
and
again
that's
just
the
five
percent
discount
on
the
electricity
generation
that
you're
receiving
compared
to
what
you
would
have
paid,
PG
e
and
so
in
Brisbane.
That
amounts
to
about
1.4
million
dollars.

It
comes
from
all
cleaner,
renewable
sources.
There
are
a
little
bit
of
Trace
greenhouse
gas
emissions
from
some
of
our
geothermal
plants,
which
is
why
it's
nearly
100
carbon
free,
and
so
we
currently
do
this
on
an
annual
basis,
which
means
that
we
purchase
enough
electricity
to
cover
the
demand
of
our
customers
across
an
entire
year.

And
we
want
to
go
even
further
and
be
even
more
of
a
leader.
And
so
that's
why
we
have
a
goal
to
provide
clean
energy
at
all
hours
of
the
day.
And
so
that
includes
not
just
the
middle
of
the
day
when
there's
a
lot
of
solar
on
the
grid,
but
even
in
the
evening
times
or
at
night,
when
it
is
more
difficult
or
where
there's
no
less
renewable
resources
on
the
grid.

And
then,
as
I
alluded
to
before.
Now
that
we
have
this
really
clean
source
of
energy.
We're
working
with
our
communities
to
switch
off
of
fossil
fuels
in
all
parts
of
our
Lives,
whether
that
be
in
our
appliances.
That
still
run
on
methane
or
natural
gas
and
switching
that
to
Efficient
Electric
alternatives
or
in
our
transportation
systems.
Switching
off
of
oil
and
diesel
for
electric
vehicles,
and
then
here
I
think,
is
where
I
pass
it
on
over
to
Colin
to
talk
about
quick,
carbon's
support
and
resources.

You
can
see
this
big
wedge
over
here
on.
The
left
is
from
building
operations.
This
is
a
you
know,
a
really
large
part
transportation
is
all
the
cars
and
vehicles
agriculture.
You
can
see
all
these
different
categories,
but
building
operations
is
one
of
the
largest
pieces
of
where
carbon
emissions
are
coming
from
and
within
that
within
the
individual
homes,
our
water
heaters
and
furnaces
are
the
largest
contributors
to
our
greenhouse
gas
emissions
inside
our
homes.
So
you
can
see
water
heating
is
60
of
your
greenhouse
gas
emissions.
I
Space
heating
is
32
percent
and
I
think
this
chart
really
surprises
people,
because
we
don't
really
think
about
our
water
heaters
very
much,
but
they
are
a
huge
Factor,
and
so
you
know
just
to
drill
down
here
even
a
little
further.
It's
not
just
an
issue
of
the
climate
crisis,
it's
also
about
air
quality
in
our
homes,
so
gas
appliances
in
the
Bay
Area
actually
generate
more
nitrous
oxide
pollution
than
all
the
Region's
Passenger
cars.
I
We've
done
a
pretty
good
job
of
cleaning
up
Passenger
cars
and
regulating
power
plants,
but
inside
our
homes
we
haven't
done
much
to
address
this
problem.
We
generate
four
times
more
nitrous
oxide
pollution
inside
our
homes
than
the
state's
gas
power
plants.
So
just
to
give
you
a
sense
of
you
know
how
bad
this
problem
is.
It's
pretty
severe.
It's
it's
a
lot
more
than
people
than
people.
Think,
and
the
impact
of
this
are
pretty
wide-ranging
and
very
serious,
especially
with
gas
stoves
in
our
homes.
I
When
we
cook
with
gas,
they
they
produce
pollutants
that
increase
the
risks
of
asthma,
respiratory
illnesses
and
other
diseases,
in
fact,
up
to
42
higher
chance
for
kids
living
in
homes
with
gas
stoves
to
develop
asthma,
symptoms
and
this
research
has
been
around
for
a
long
time.
But
it's
getting
into
the
news
a
lot
more
now,
thankfully,
the
story's
really
getting
out
there,
and
so
people
are
more
aware
of
this.
I
I
So
this
is
what
it
means.
If
you
look
at
your
home
overall,
you
know
this
is
the
overview
of
what
we
talk
about
when
we
say
home,
electrification,
so
purchasing.
You
know.
Renewable
energy,
clean
electricity
coming
in
from
the
folks
like
pce,
is
a
huge
part
of
it,
but
also
the
appliances
within
your
home.
So
you're
cooking,
your
space
heating,
your
clothes
dryer,
your
water,
heater,
EV
charger.
Those
are
all
the
components.
All
the
systems
that
make
up
your
home
should
all
become
Electric
and
just
to
show
you
some
visuals
here.
I
I
Instead
of
gas
furnaces
where
you're
burning
fossil
fuels
inside
your
home
to
create
heat,
you
use
a
heat
pump
furnace
instead
of
a
gas
stove
which
releases
Benzene
and
all
those
other
nasty
chemicals
you
switch
to
an
all-electric
induction,
stove
and
induction
is
actually
a
lot
of
people
are
familiar
with
electric
cooktops,
where
there's
a
coil
that
heats
up
and
gets
really
hot.
These
are
different
and
we
like
them
a
lot
more.
I
They
use
magnets
to
heat
up
the
pan
directly
and
so
the
cooktop
surface
itself
doesn't
get
hot
and
they're
really
responsive
and
fun
to
cook,
with
they
boil
water
way
faster
than
gas
stoves.
So
it's
actually
a
pretty
cool,
upgrade
to
switch
to
induction
for
cooking
and
then,
of
course,
there's
lots
more
components
of
this
as
well.
So
you've
got
your
clothes
dryer,
which
might
be
gas.
Your
fireplace
there's
some
really
cool
electric
fireplaces.
Now
on
the
market,
of
course,
EV
Chargers,
you
know
so.
I
Basically,
all
the
appliances
inside
your
house
that
burn
gas
today
can
be
electrified,
but
you
might
notice.
I,
haven't
really
talked
about
rooftop,
solar
and
batteries
so
far,
and
that's
typically
what
people
do
think
about
when
they
think
about
upgrading
and
improving
their
home
and
you
know
being
environmentally
friendly.
I
I
So
what
does
this
actually
look
like
if
you
want
to
Electrify
it?
Because
it's
sort
of
a
complicated
process,
they're
big
decisions
that
you
have
to
make,
we
think
the
first
step-
that's
really
important,
is
to
plan,
be
proactive,
get
an
idea
of.
What's
in
your
house
today,
you
know
what
kind
of
appliances
you
have
that
are
burning
gas
and
create
a
plan
for
how
you
can
upgrade
those
in
a
in
a
smart
way
and
then
step
two.
Is
you
start
replacing
your
appliances?
So
you
start
putting
in
you
know.
I
Maybe
you
do
a
heat
pump
heater,
a
water
heater
you
put
in
a
stove.
You
can
do
these
all
at
once
or
a
lot
of
times.
People
like
to
do
them
in
a
sequential
order
based
on
the
needs
of
their
own
home
and
the
important
thing
here.
Is
you
really
want
to
be
proactive
and
work
on
replacing
these
appliances
before
they
fail?
Most
Appliance
purchases
happen
when
your
old
one
breaks
and
that
just
doesn't
work
in
this
situation
because
it
takes
a
little
more
planning
and
forethought
to
get
the
electric
versions.
I
If
you
wait
into
your
your
your
water
heater
breaks,
you're
just
going
to
get
another
gas
water
heater,
so
really
important
to
get
early
retirement
for
your
appliances,
so
that
your
gas
water
heater
can
be
sitting
on
a
beach
here
and
enjoying
its
its
retirement
they're
actually
recycled.
So,
like
the
material
within
your,
your
water
heater
will
be
very
effectively
recycled,
It's
All
Steel,
so
it's
actually
really
good
to
retire
these
early
and
that's
actually
something
yeah.
I
Let's
see
oh
yeah,
so
I
wanted
to
touch
on
this,
because
people
typically
think
that
it's
better,
more
environmentally
friendly
to
use
something
up
and
just
like
keep
using
it
until
the
very
end
of
its
lifespan.
But
in
this
case
with
these
harmful
gas
appliances
that
are
emitting
pollutants
and
contributing
to
climate
change,
it's
actually
better
to
just
replace
these.
As
soon
as
you
can
from
an
environmental
perspective,
it's
a
lot
better
to
just
switch
to
new
electric
efficient
options.
I
So
then
you've
got
the
appliances
you
want
to
upgrade.
You've
got
your
plan.
Next
step
is
to
find
a
contractor,
and
the
important
thing
here
is
to
try
to
find
the
right
thing.
Like
the
right
solution,
the
right
size
system
for
a
fair
price
from
a
reputable
installer-
and
there
are
a
couple
ways
you
can
do
this-
a
quick
carbon.
I
This
is
one
of
the
key
parts
of
our
service
is
that
we
work
to
match
homeowners
with
contractors,
but
there
are
also
sites
like
they
run,
where
you
can
find
lists
of
contractors
that
you
can
contact
to
do
these
projects
so
a
couple
different
ways,
a
couple,
different
options
for
you
there,
and
so
you
know
I-
wanted
to
talk
about
this
in
terms
of
the
mental
model.
Here.
The
typical
way
of
thinking
about
in
in
the
environment
and
conservation
is
that
we
have
to
pay
and
sacrifice
to
fight
climate
change.
I
We
have
to
turn
down
our
heat
and
sit
in
the
house
in
a
sweater
all
day
and
the
reality.
This
new
reality
because
of
clean
electricity,
and
these
upgrades
in
technology
is
that
we
can
actually
get
paid
and
benefit
by
fighting
climate
change.
We
can
make
our
homes
safer,
more
efficient,
while
saving
money
on
utility
bills,
while
also
fighting
climate
change.
So
it's.

Really
exciting
time
to
be
talking
to
people
about
this,
because
the
Paradigm
is
Shifting
here.
So
let's
go
through
a
quick
example
of
what
those
costs
might
actually
look
like.
This
is
for
a
heat
pump,
water
heater
project,
so
you
might
start
out.
You
know,
go
talk
to
a
contractor.
They
may
give
you
an
estimate,
that's
ten
thousand
dollars
to
put
in
a
heat
pump
water
heater,
which.
I
Lot
pretty
scary,
but
there
are
some
fantastic
rebates
now
and
in
the
Bay
Area.
Those
can
be
around
seventy
seven
hundred
dollars,
which
reduces
your
out
of
pocket
down
to
twenty
three
hundred
dollars
and
then,
if
you
factor
in
the
utility
bill,
savings
you'll
get
over
the
next
15
years,
which
is
around
twenty
five
hundred
dollars
from
not
paying
for
gas
for
your
water
heater
you'll,
be
ahead
by
about
200
and.

quit

you
know
our

Basically,
we
give
homeowners
a
free
plan,
expert
advice
and
match
them
with
contractors
that
they
can
use
to
switch
all
the
gas
appliances
in
their
house
to
Electric.

there

Paradigm

mindset
around
climate
action,
because
it's
yeah
so
many
new
Innovations
and
ways
that
we
can
make
our
homes
safer
and
healthier

we're
comfortable
too
so

topic
of
rebates.

highlight
some
of
the
programs
that
Peninsula
Queen
energy
offers
for
our
residents
here
in
San,
Mateo,
County,
and
so
here
are
some
of
the
rebates.
You'll
see
similar
appliances

ones

call
invention.
Baron
has
an
induction,
cooktop
rebate
for
250
dollars
and
I
should
say:
Bayern
is
the
Bay
Area
Regional
energy
Network,
and
they
are
a
a
partner
with
us
and
they
have
their
own
rebates
in
addition
to
the
ones
on
the
slide
and
so
Peninsula
Queen
energy
also
has
rebates
for
heat
pump
water
heaters
again.

Let
you
all
know
that
this
is
an
option
for
those
who
it
can
be
expensive
to
electric
fire,
your
home,
and
so
we
do
want
to
support
our
residents,
who
are
do
not
have
the
means
to
do
so
next
slide,
and
then
I
also
wanted
to
highlight
that
there
are
rebates
for
electric
vehicles,
and
so
here
are
some
rebate
amounts
from
Peninsula
Queen
energy.
Anyone
can
get
a
rebate
of
up
to
a
thousand
dollars
for
purchasing
and
a
used
electric
vehicle.

then,
if
you
qualify
based
on
your
income,
you
can
get
even
more
savings
and
then
again,
this
program,
Stacks
with
all
the
other
rebate
programs
that
are
available
by
the
state.

a
rebate
program
for
use
electric
vehicles

so

to
The
Home
Appliances.
You
can
really
bring
down
the
cost
of
these
new
purchases
and
electric
purchases
through
these
different
incentives
that
are
available
right
now
in
the
next

and
this
is
my
last
slide.

We
also
support
our
local
governments
with
electrifying
their
fleets.
We
provide
support
and
free
technical
assistance
for
electrifying,
new
or
existing
buildings
for
property
owners
and
then
also
not
on
this
slide

partnership
to
help
install
solar
as
well
as
solar
and
storage
systems,
and
so
we
have
a
great
project
with
Brisbane.

the
mission,
blue,
Center
and
I'm
sure
Adrian
will
highlight
an
upcoming
event
to
celebrate
our
amazing
partnership
on
that
front
and
then
with
that
I
think.

how
much
this
is

going
to
cost

it

really
helpful

know

total
amount

you
could
get
from
federal
state
local

that's
such
a
great
question,
as
there
are
you
know
upside.
Is
that
there's
so
many
rebate
and
incentives
out
there,

the
downside
is
that
I've
heard
it
sometimes
described
as
kind
of
like
a
rabbit
hole
of
just
trying
to
access
all
of
them,
and
so
we
have
some
information
about
rebates
on
our
website.

to
highlight
a
useful
tool
called
The,
Switch
design,
and
so
that's
a
Statewide
Coalition
that
has
a
rebate,
incentives,
lookup
tool
and
so
again
that
site
is
switches
on,
and
then
you
type
in
your
zip
code
and
then
it'll
pull
up
all
of
the
available
rebates
and
incentives
in
your
area.
So
it's
helpful
for
San
Mateo
County
residents,
as
well
as
those
moving
in
other
parts
of
the
state.

I

mind
is
going
to
a
few
different
things.
One
is
the
home
upgrade
program
which
I
mentioned,
which
is
for
our
income,
qualified
customers,
and
so,
if
you
qualify,
someone

our
program.
Administrators
will
come
up
to
your
house
and
do
an
assessment
and
then
do
some
electrification
measures
in
terms
of
Pilots.
We
didn't
have
a
pilot
with
Harvest
thermal,
which
is
a
company
that
provides
a
system
that
provides
both
water
heating
and
space
Heating.

sure
someone
on
our
team
has
done
that
analysis.
One
of
our
other
goals
at
Peninsula,
clean
energy,
is
to
help
our
communities
transition
off
of
fossil
fuels
and
go
greenhouse
gas
free
by
2035,

hugely
ambitious
and
so
I
don't
have
that
data
off
my
hand
right
now,
but
I
I
can
find
that
for
you
and
I
yeah
there
you
know
is
a
lot
of
you
know
higher
uptakes
of
electric
appliances,
but
we
do
see
that
there
is
still
a
far
way
to
go
in
terms
of
electrifying
all
of
our
homes.

plans
to
really
broaden

scope
of
our
support
that
we
provide
to
our
customers
and
part
of
that
is
in
expanding
our
program
so
that
to
do
a
basically
like
a
turnkey
service
in
which
we
would
you
know
a
customer

call
us
and
we
would
handle
the
contractors.
We
would
handle
the
rebates
and
really
make
it
easier
for
the
customer,
and
so
that's
coming
up
in
you
know
the
next
year
or
so,
and
so
it
is
a
challenge
that

homeowners
who
want
to
do
the
same
type
of

they
could
all
go
in
together
and
you

pull

project
with

facilitate
that
process

saves
the
homeowner
a
little
bit
more
money
and
also
makes
it
sort
of
easier
for
the
contractor
to
manage.
