our
summer
programming
is
a
good
time
to

aquatics
presentation.

we

give
you
kind
of
encapsulate
a
full
year
and
our
busiest
time
of
year
as
well
so
I'm
going
to
turn
it
over
to
Jeff
and
he
will
provide
you
with
kind
of
an
overview
of
Aquatics
programming
and
facility.
And

you

My
name
is
Jeff
Franco
I
am
a
recreation
coordinator
in
charge
of
the
aquatics
programming,
one
of
first
show
and
share
information
about
our
swim
lesson
program
from
this
past
year
and
currently
for
2022
this
year
we
brought
back
our
spring
classes
that
we
weren't
able
to
offer
them
spring
2021.
So
for
our
spring
swim
lessons
as
well
as
our
fall
swim
lessons.
We
offer
two
sessions
two
four
week
sessions
on
Sundays
and
the
statistics
of
participants
are
right
there.

So
for
spring
of
2022,
we
had
85
participants,
79
versus
21
for
our
summer
swim
lessons.
We
were
able
to
increase
our
ratios
back
to
the
normal
ratios
from
that
from
pre-pandemic
numbers,
so
we
had
454
participants
of
those
43
were
residents
57
non-resident,
which
is
about
the
same
number
as
previous
and
then
for
fall,
which
we're
currently
in
right.
Now
we
have
97
participants
and,
as
you'll
see,
participation
is
a
hundred
percent
Brisbane
residents,
How
We
Do
registration
for
our
swim.
Lessons
as
well
as
for
all
of
our
Recreation
programs.

We
give
a
two-week
window
to
Brisbane
residents
prior
to
non-resident
getting
to
sign
up
so
this
year.
This
is
actually
the
first
time
that
our
program
was
fully
represented
by
Brisbane
residents.
We
are
finding
a
talk
with
other
area
supervisors.
In
that
a
lot
of
swim
lesson.
Programs
are
going
quickly
and
a
lot
of
residents
are
taking
a
lot
of
homeless
for
their
current
for
their
City.
So
we
do
recommend
people
from
out
of
town
to
try
to
if
they're.
If
there's
no
availability
with
us,
try
to
pick
up
availability
too.

We
had
parties
booked
between
March,
12th
and
October
8th,
which
is
a
31
week,
time
span
and
100
of
the
boys
those
weekends
were
booked.
There
wasn't
some
of
the
weekends.
We
had
two
pool
parties,
so
there
was
a
couple
weekends
where
we
didn't
have
a
pool
party,
but
based
on
the
week
that
we
had
two
pool
party
schedules.
If,
if
added
up
to
100
of
31.,
we
did
also
have
end
of
the
year
school
parties
for
panorama's
fifth
grade
class
CES.

Than
pre-pandemic
numbers,
a
lot
of
people
found
out
about
the
Brisbane
pool
and
there's
a
lot
of
times
that
we're
way
busier
I
feel
even
weekly.
We
get
people
calling
or
coming
that
say
this
is
their
first
time
coming
to
Laughlin.
They
really
enjoy
our
pool.
I
would
say
we
have
about
300
plus
last
numbers
per
week
and,
like
I
said,
with
new
people
joining
all
the
time
we
do
offer
monthly
laps
swim
passage,
passes
and
average
about
40
people
who
buy
those
per
month.

Rec
swim
last
summer
we
had
we
had
capped
our
capacity
at
75
just
slowly.
Coming
back
out
of
the
pandemic,
we
have
increased
our
capacity
to
double
that
to
150,
and
this
past
summer
our
totals
were
upwards
of
26
to
2700.
People
came
directly
over
our
summer
period,
averaging
roughly
50
people
per
Rec
swim.
There
were
about
10
to
12
times
that
we
did
come
close
to
the
150
capacity.

We
do
offer
drop-in
classes,
as
well
as
the
monthly
class
and
monthly
classes
we
have.
We
range
from
the
Thursday
class
gets
an
average
of
about
15
monthly
sign
up
and
Monday
Wednesday
Friday
will
get
in
between
20
to
25
people
signing
up
for
the
month.
On
top
of
that,
we're
getting
anywhere
from
five
to
nine
drop-ins
per
class.
So
over
the
heat
wave
weekend
we
had
over
30
people
in
the
water
of
this
class,
and
actually
today,
Wednesdays
are
very
popular
days.

We
had
I
think
31.,
so
it
continues
to
be
a
very
successful
program
and,
as
you
can
see
on
the
third
bullet
point,
it
is
pretty
split
down
the
middle
of
Brisbane
residents,
as
well
as
other
surrounding
area
residents,
and
we're
consistently
averaging
close
to
25
people
per
class.
So
it
is
with
leg
lapse,
with
new
people
joining
for
acquiring
about
it.

We
were
able
to
offer
special
events
again
this
summer
this
year
last
year
we
didn't
so
we
have
and
a
few
special
events
to
go
over
the
first
one
over
in
July.
At
the
end
of
Park
and
Rec
month,
we
had
a
team
glow,
glow-in-the-dark
swim
night
that
first
picture
on
the
left.
Where
it
was
we
lit
up.
You
can
kind
of
see
like
along
the
back
under
the
solar
panels,
the
LED
light
we
had
those
all
around
the
pool.
The
beach
balls
were
lit
up
with
LED
lights.

had
the
lights
were
playing
like
dancing
to
the
music
that
we
had
and
we
had
about
30
teams
that
enjoyed
the
night
sweat
because
of
that
success.
I'm
gonna
skip
to
the
last
full
point.
We
installed
two
Friday
night
Rex
rooms,
so
one
Friday,
September
9th
and
one
this
upcoming
Friday
14th
from
7
to
8,
30.,
just
another
place
for
teens
to
come
and
swim
and
each
well
the
first
one
we
had
about
25
beans
and
we
have
a
it's
based
on
numbers.

have
about
that
many
20
25
that
are
scheduled
coming
this
Friday
as
well.
So
that
will
definitely
be
a
program
that
we
continue
for
a
night
reckon
that
will
continue
to
probably
starting
up
in
the
spring
potentially
throughout
the
summer,
because
it
is
the
special
event
in
the
middle
Sharknado,
Josh
shark
themed,
Rec
swim.
We
did
as
a
whole
Rec
Center
I
mean
the
whole
wreck.
Department,
celebrate
Shark
Week,
the
Discovery
Channel
Shark
Week
this
year,
so
we
decorated
the
pool
office
in
Shark
Week
theme
decorations.

The
last
special
event
that
we
had,
we
just
actually
had
it
this
past
Saturday.
We
brought
back
our
underwater
pumpkin
patch.
This
was
our
fifth
pumpkin
patch
we
had
the
last
one
was
in
2019.,
so
this
year
we
had
90
participants
and
we
that
first
line
to
the
whole
pool
with
pumpkins
as
people
came
in,
we
had
arts
and
crafts
and
they
could
take
pictures
with
the
hay
bales.
We
also
had
Recreation
coordinator
Ricardo.
He
was
there.

I,
don't
know,
saw
some
of
the
pictures
on
social
media
in
a
blow
up,
pumpkin
suit
for
kids
take
pictures
of
so
that
was
entertaining
for
the
kids
about
20
minutes
into
the
event
we
felt
like
we
had
everybody
there.
We
staff
and
adults
threw
in
pumpkins
and
kids
enjoyed
playing
this
picture
on.
The
right
is
some
kids
decorating
who
decorated
their
pumpkin
with
stickers.

also
have
continued
this
year,
partnering
with
Libman
middle
school
and
providing
Aquatics
programming
for
them
last
spring,
and
then
this
fall,
which
is
just
about
wrapping
up
this
Friday.
We
partnered
with
them
for
PE
classes.
They
have
teachers,
teach
the
peace,
I
mean
teach
the
water
skills
to
the
classes.

A
couple
well,
when
we
first
started
this
I
met
with
teachers
and
helped
them
create
a
curriculum
to
like
have
baselines
for
each
of
the
classes
and
then
on
most
Fridays
for
the
feeding
classes,
either
myself
or
one
of
the
Aquatic
staff
go
over
some
very
basic
lifeguard
skills
with
them.
Another
program
that
we
have
currently
it's
in
the
fall
and
then
again
in
the
spring,
is
the
junior
lifeguarding
after
school
club
for
Litman,
and
it's
led
by
aquatic
staff.

This
has
been
going
on
for
probably
three
or
four,
maybe
five
years
now,
and
it
used
to
get
like,
maybe
10,
kids.
Now
it's
a
program
that
I
think
it
has
18
to
20
kids
in
it
and
then
there's
a
wait
list,
10
more
kids.
So
it's
one
of
the
one
of
their
most
popular
after
school
clubs.
So
on
Wednesdays
the
kids
come
to
the
pool
one
and
four
two
and
three
and
learn
all
different
types
of
lifeguards.

our

summer
as
well
as
a

from
the
summer.
We
have
aquatic
staff
right
now
we
have
about
15
to
16
staff.
You
know
up
over
the
summer
we
could
have
up
to
25
staff,
ranging
from
staff
that
have
been
with
us
for
about
four
months
to
a
staff
member,
that's
been
with
us
for
nine
years,
so
we
have
a
very
tight-knit
group
of
staff
and
they're.

So
this
past
year,
the
park
and
rec
department
had
conducted
A
needs
assessment,
so
I
just
wanted
to
give
you
some
of
the
feedback
that
was
Aquatics
related.
So
some
of
the
pros
that
we
got
from
the
survey
a
lot
of
people
mentioned
excellent
staff.
We
had
people
talk
about
clean
facilities
in
a
lot
of
space
in
the
pool
to
move
around
water.
Aerobics
has
been
essential
for
a
lot
of
people
who
is
well
maintained
and
fun
for
kids.
The
pool
is
great
A
real
asset
to
the
town.

People
enjoyed
our
swim
lesson
programs,
some
of
the
cons
or
negative
feedback.
People
did
talk
about
the
locker
rooms
friendliness
we
have.
Since
this
survey
we
have
done
a
deep
clean
of
our
locker
rooms
with
our
janitorial
companies.
So
I
did.
We
did
notice
the
big
Improvement
there
and
I
have
also
discussed
some
of
the
concerns
with
our
janitorial
company.
So
we
are
seeing
a
big,
improved.

of
the
disliked
were
the
people
who
was
dirty
with
leaves
for
a
few
months
out
of
the
year.
This
past
year
we
did
have
our
our
vacuum
was
out
of
commission
for
about
two
or
three
months.
We
did
get
a
small
vacuum
to
supplement,
but,
and
we
did
clean
the
spot
clean,
the
pool,
but
now
our
main
backing
part
did
come
in
everything
else,
supply
chain
issue.
So
now
we
do
have
our
main
backing
back.

and

seems
a

staffed

the
past
you
had
trouble
getting
people
to
work

pool,

enough
people,

feel
like
you're,
you're,
well,
staffed
and
and
everybody
feels
like
they're
well
paid,
and
you
know
how?
How
is
the
staff
doing.

My
staff
like
to
work
a
lot
of
hours
so
like
actually
since
I've
started
with
the
city,
the
number
the
Staffing
numbers
I've
lowered
it
because
staff
wanted
more
hours,
so
the
staff
know.
Now
we
have
a
smaller
staff
and
they'll
get
more
hours,
but
it
may
be
sometimes
it's
challenging
for
them
to
find
substitutes,
so
I
recommend
them
if
they
know
they
have
a
day
off.

just
piggyback
on
that,
so
there
there
is
a
nationwide
lifeguard
shortage.
If
you
haven't
already
heard
that
in
the
news-
and
so
a
lot
of
our
colleagues
in
neighboring,
agencies
are
really
struggling
with
aquatic
Staffing,
many
of
them
were
unable
to
reopen
after
the
pandemic
due
to
Staffing
shortages.
Many
of
them
have
flashed
their
operational
hours,
so
I'm
proud
to
say
that
that
has
not
been
the
case
for
us.

think
you
know
we
are
kind
of
the
exception
to
what
we
see
going
on
in
in
our
industry
and
I.

Think
a
lot
of
that
has
to
do
with
the
fact
that
a
lot
of
our
staff,
our
locals
or
residents,
who
have
been
part
of
the
aquatics
Community
for
quite
some
time
and
we've
been
able
to
retain
them
and
I.
Think
that's
a
testament
to
our
our
leadership
team,
but
also
Jeff
is
strategic
about
facilitating
lifeguard
certification
training
courses
a
couple
of
times
throughout
the
year
and
that
helps
to
kind
of
serve
as
a
feeder
program
for
Staffing.
So
wanted
to
add
that.

that,
we
do
have
a
lifeguard
class
coming
up
the
third
weekend
in
November.
It's
the
18th
through
the
20th
I
conduct
the
class
as
a
Friday
night
and
then
all
day
on
Saturday

Sunday.

three
people
signed
up
for
this
class,
we'll
continue
promoting
it
and
then
I'll
offer
another
class
in
early
next
year,
February
or
March.

are

coastal
cleanup
day,
which
was
the
last
weekend
in
September,
we
did
it
this
year.
In
the
past,
it's
been
at
the
Marine
at
the
Lagoon,
so
we
had
Lagoon
cleanup
this
year.
We
toured
the
Lagoon
and
it
actually
looked
really
nice
like
there
wasn't
that
much
garbage
all
around
it.
So
we
did
hear
from
the
marina
some
of
the
marina
workers
that
there
were
a
few
hot
spots
around
the
marina
that
definitely
needed
a
cleanup.
So
we
focused
our
Coastal
cleanup
day
at
the
marina
down
by
the
fishing
pier
dock
six.

through
the
event,
like
all
of
our
volunteers
were
so
spread
out
like
I,
couldn't
they
were
spread
out
pretty
much
along
the
coastline
of
the
marina,
which
was
good
because
there
we
did
captured
all
the
trash
that
was
around
our
Focus
area.
So
then
they
reached
out
to
look
for
more
trash.
The
event
went
from
9
30
to
12
30.,
it's
a
collab
event
that
we
do
park
and
rec
does.
With
the
open
space
and
ecology
committee.

guys
have

is
a
California
wide
Coastal
cleanup
day
event.
So
then
we
submit
all
of
our
numbers
of
how
much
like
pounds
of
trash
and
pounds
of
recycling
to

California
Coastal
commission,

then
they
tally
up
the
numbers
that
are
cleaned
up.

promote
them
on
our
social
media
platforms,
so
they're
in
the
star,
the
luminary,
the
sign
boards,
as
well
as
female
blasts
or
Coastal,
like
California
Coastal
cleanup
day
as
well
as
Earth
Day.

we
don't
even
have
to
advertise,
because
people
residents
know
that
these
events
are
going
to
be
going
on
and
they
look
to
us
or
call
us
to
know
when
the
events
are
happening.

one
we
didn't
do
a
pre-signup,
but
in
the
past
we
have
had
high
school
students
that
do
volunteer
hours.
We
have
had
groups
from
businesses
come
and
volunteer
in
like
for
our
events,
so
we
do
also
partner
with

the
with
San
Bruno
Mountain
watch
for
the
habitat
restoration
days.
So
we
get
an
idea
of
they
do
sign
ups
ahead
of
time.
So
for
those
events,
we'll
do
pre-signup,
but
a
coastal
cleanup
day
was
just
people
finding
out
and
showing
up.

I
actually
did
it
this
year
for
the
first
time
in
five
years,
and
it
was
really
fun
to
do
just
be
out
there
again
and
just
walk
around
and
pick
up
cigarette
butts
everywhere,
but
I
figured
out
everything
there's
a
place
where
all
the
guys
that
work
there
in
construction
going
to
smoke,
because
the
person
I
brought
with
me
says:
why
do
we
keep
buying
so
many
cigarettes
and
then
I
finally
figured
it
out?
I
said
see,
it
says
no
smoking
on
the
sign,
so
they
go
outside
the
construction
yard
and
smoke
right
here.

At
times
we
do
this,
one
trash
was
kind
of
spread
around.
There
wasn't
like
a
specific
main
area.
So
if
I
would
have
taken
a
picture,
you
would
have
seen
some
trash,
but
a
lot
of
trash
was
hidden
in
like
the
bushes
in
the
medians
in
the
parking
lot.
So
people
are
strategic
of
where
they're
putting
their
trash
out
of
sight,
but
still
there.
So
we
did
collect
a
lot
and
we
had
to
hunt
for
some
for
sure.

once
again
this
year,
Dan
Carter
and
Sue
Cochran.
Volunteered
Dan
is
our
main
volunteer,
starting
all
of
the
races
and
then
two
cheers
them
on
as
they
come
down
the
hill
and

she's

Finish
Line
official
as
well.
So
we
really
appreciate
their
help
in
the
implementation
and
running
of
the
Brisbane
Derby.

was
not
there
for
the
actual
Derbies
or
Recreation
coordinator
Scott
was
took
the
lead
for
the
Derby
I,
helped
a
little
bit
with
fed
up
and
then
putting
the
hay
bales
back
on
the
truck.
But
I
was
there
the
weekend
before
for
the
derby
practice
and
definitely
some
very
good
cars
and
some
motivated
kids
getting
ready
for
the
race.

the
last,
probably
maybe
like
the
last
hour,
and

think
they

was
the
one
family
that
participates
pretty
heavily.

was

kind
of
near
them.

day
in
the
Park
event
debrief
this
year
we
had
37
vendors
participate
in
the
event
from
arts
and
crafts,
vendors
to
community
Booth,
vendors
to
Commercial
and
more
informative
vendors,
so
that
was
back
to
the
highest
numbers.
We've
had
for
this
event.
In
the
six
years
that
I've
been
helping,
implementing
and
planning
it
so
every
year
it
seems
we
change
up
the
layout
a
little
bit
based
on
like
what
vendors
we
have
or
what
part
of
the
park
to
utilize
this
year.

did.

did
have
a
lot
of
positive
feedback
on
lining
both
sides
of
the
park
with
Community
booths,
so
this
will
be
a
layout
that
we
use
moving
forward
on
top
of
well

Think
some
of
the
vendors
we
did
have
three
food
vendors.
We
had
the
Lions
Club,
making
their
tri-tip
sandwiches
and
their
barbecue
as
well
as
silver
spot,
had
a
food
vendor
who
was
making
popcorn
and
I
believe
cotton
candy
as
well,
then
we
did
have
one
food
truck,
walk
kitchen
there
as
well.

also
had
the
beer
and
wine
Garden
that
was
hosted
by
the
best
PTO
and
this
year
we
did.
We
had
a
plastic
fence
around
the
beer
garden,
so
really
established
where
that
area
was,
and
it
was
right
near
the
food
area
as
well.

time
I
looked
over,
I
was
walking
around.
It
was
a
very
popular
area
of
the
event.

During
day
in
the
park
we
do
have
the
mayor
announced
the
volunteer
of
the
year,
so
I
do
want
to
congratulate
you
an
evening
again
for
winning
volunteer
of
the
Year.
This
year
announced
at
the
day
in
the
park
we
do
have.
We
did
have
a
lot
of
kids
activities.
This
year
we
had
11
carnival
games
out
on
Old,
County
Road
road
with
the
red
and
white
tents.
They
were
all
pretty
well
attended.
Next
to
that,
the
carnival
games
were
mostly
run
by
the
yak.
The
youth.

Advisory
committee-
that's
it
and
they
did
a
great
job,
organizing
the
game
and
running.
All
of
that,
we
did
also
have
a
18-hole
miniature
golf
course
around
the
curve
on
Old
County
Road
as
well,
and
that
was
pretty
much
utilized
throughout
the
day.
It
was
very
busy
around
the
end
of
the
event
we
noticed,
so
that
was
a
new
activity.
We
did
have
the
at
miniature
golf
course
in
July
for
park
and
rec
month,
and
it
was
popular
that
day,
so
we
wanted
to
bring
it
back
again
apart.

And
then
this
year
after
the
fighting
contest,
we
did
have
a
performance
by
our
Tahitian
dance
group
that
practices
at
the
mission
blue
center.
With
most
weeks,
we
had
an
adult
group
and
the
youth
group,
and
that
was
well
attended
as
well
and
very
nice
performance
overview
of
the
event
I
talked
with
Ricardo
earlier
today.
We
feel
that
it
was
one
of
the
biggest
we've
had
since
and
well
attended.
So
like
every
time
we
looked
around,
there
was
people
at
pretty
much
all
the
booths
at
any.

time,
like
the
jump
out,
we
also
had
a
jump
house
for
kids
as
well
on
the
other
side
of
the
park,
so
another
kids
entertainment
there
was
just
people
all
around
and
when
I
heard
that
we
like
the
success
of
the
food
truck
like
I,
wasn't
able
to
go
over
there
too
too
much,
but
I
was
very
excited
that
they
did
well.

the
rest
of

volunteers,
and
it
gives
me

hope

our

them

half

the
yak
kids
were
there
even
through

end

the
event,
and
they
were
running
around
side
by
side
with
staff,
cleaning,
up
tables
chairs,
helping
take
down
all

pop-up
tents.
So,
on
top

running
all
of
the
carnival
games,
they
were
a
big
help
in
like,
throughout
the
whole
event,
and
especially
with
cleanup
cleanup,
went
I
think
we
were
done
in
less
than
an
hour
because
of
all
the
help
we
had
them
included.

a
great
resource
for
all
of
our
events
like
you
just
need
some
extra
hands.
You're
like
call
up
the
yak.
You
know
they're
fabulous,
and
you
know
kids,
when
you
put
them
in
volunteer
situations
at
that
age.

son
just
took
to
it.
It's
like
oh
yeah,
we
get
to
you

we
get
to
help
and
it
just
gives
them
a
really
good
sense
of
of
purpose
and
plus
I
get
volunteer
hours.

space

moving

were
also
out
at

they're

constraints

the

put

into
a
document
which
will
then
be
reviewed

by
the
subcommittee
they'll
begin
drafting

of
alternative
conceptual
designs,
engaging

public
and
getting
feedback
through
workshops
and
surveys.

more

come
on
this
project
and
there
will
be
more
multiple
opportunities
for
this
commission,
as
well
as
the
other
City
advisory
boards
to
give
input
and
have
their
voices

heard
before
the
master
plan

drafted

council,
we're
anticipating
kind
of
early
spring
timeline
for
that
so
stay
tuned

next
several

cyclists

part

trail,

than
having
them
spread
out

running
club.
They
have
the
half
marathon

Bruno
Mountain,
which
will
be
on
October
22nd

our
next
senior
trip
to
Roaring
Camp
railroads
coming

on

27th

our
star
decorating
workshop
on
November
18th,

will
be

at
Mission,
blue
