Description
Cartwright Governing Board Meeting 10/20/2022
A
A
So
thank
you
so
much
and
we
are
excited
for
the
completion
of
the
glenel
Downs
gymnasium.
It's
been
a
long
time
coming,
but
definitely
happy
to
have
that
dream
come
true
all
right.
So
let
the
record
reflect
that.
We
have
governing
board
member
Miss
Lydia
Hernandez
present
at
the
meeting
Miss
governing
board
member
Denise
Garcia
present
at
the
meeting.
Vice
president
Pedro
Lopez
is
also
present
and
myself.
Marissa
Hernandez
president
are
present
in
the
meeting
now.
If
everyone
would
please
rise
and
join
me
for
the
Pledge
of
Allegiance.
A
So
I'd
like
to
make
a
motion
for
approval
of
tonight's
agenda
as
presented
for
the
cartridge
Elementary
School
District
governing
board
public
hearing
and
regular
governing
board
meeting
of
October
20th
2022
do
I
have
a
second
thank
you.
We
do
have
a
motion
made
by
myself,
Hernandez
and
a
second
by
governing
board.
Vice
president
Pedro
Lopez,
we
will
do
a
roll
call
vote,
Miss,
Lydia
Hernandez.
How
do
you
vote?
A
A
All
right.
We
will
move
on
to
item
D,
which
is
our
call
to
the
public
due
to
the
meeting
being
held
at
a
remote
location
with
potentially
limited
access
to
normal
audio
and
visual
equipment
capabilities
and
meeting
structure.
The
administration
recommends
the
board
move
to
suspend
the
call
to
the
public
for
this
meeting
by
motion.
A
Second
and
majority
vote
for
the
board,
so
I'd
like
to
make
a
motion
that
we
suspend
the
call
to
public
for
the
evening
at
the
Cartwright
Elementary
School
District
governing
board,
regular
public
hearing
and
regular
governing
board
meeting
for
October
20th
2022..
Do
we
have
a
second
thank
you
Miss
Garcia,
so
we
do
have
a
motion
made
by
myself,
Maris
Hernandez
and
a
second
by
governing
board
member
Denise
Garcia
Miss
Hernandez.
How
do
you
vote.
B
Because
technology
access
to
technology-
okay,
only
in
that
just
wanted
to
make
sure
I.
A
A
Our
adopted
rules
of
parliamentary
procedure
provide
for
a
consent
agenda
listing
several
items
for
approval
of
the
board
by
a
single
motion.
Items
listed
under
the
consent
agenda
have
gone
through
a
review
and
recommendation
process.
Documentation
concerning
these
items
has
been
provided
to
all
board
members
and
the
public
in
advance
to
assure
an
extensive
and
thorough
review
items
may
be
removed
from
the
consent
agenda
at
the
request
of
any
board.
A
Member
with
that
I'd
like
to
make
a
motion
for
approval
of
tonight's
consent
agenda,
as
presented
at
the
Cartwright
Elementary
School
District
governing
board
public
hearing
and
regular
meeting
for
October
20th
2022.
do
I
have
a
second
thank
you
Miss
Garcia,
so
we
do
have
a
motion
made
by
myself,
Marissa
Hernandez
and
a
second
by
governing
board
member
Denise
Garcia
governing
board
member
Lydia
Hernandez.
How
do
you
vote
hi?
Thank
you,
Miss
Hernandez
governing
board
member
Denise
Garcia.
How
do
you
vote?
Thank
you.
Vice
president
Pedro
Lopez,
how
do
you
vote?
A
A
Second
reading
for
adoption
regarding
Arizona
school
boards,
Association
advisory
policy,
717-736
volume,
34
number
two
dated
August
2nd
2022..
This
policy
advisory
consists
of
20
proposed
amendments.
The
revisions
apply
to
policies,
regulations
and
Exhibits.
Each
Amendment
results
directly
from
legislation
passed
during
the
2022
legislative
session
regulations
and
Exhibits
included
in
this
policy.
Advisory
are
presented
to
the
board
so
that
they
are
aware
of
the
revisions,
however,
do
not
require
board
approval
policy.
Advisory,
721,
immunization
of
students,
regulation
and
policy
will
not
be
accepted
in
this
advisory
and
will
be
replaced
with
policy
advisory.
737.
A
All
right,
so
I
would
like
to
make
a
motion
for
approval
to
adopt
recommended
revisions
from
Arizona
School
Board
Association
for
policy
advisory,
717,
JRR
student
surveys,
718
Ki,
visitors
to
schools,
719
KB,
parental
involvement
in
education,
720
IH,
amb,
Family,
Life,
Education,
721,
jlcb,
immunizations
of
students
reject.
This
will
be
sorry.
A
Elementary
School
District
governing
board.
Regular
meeting
public
sorry
public
hearing
regular
governing
board
meeting
of
October
20th
2022
do
I
have
a
second
thank
you
Miss
Garcia.
So
we
do
have
a
motion
made
by
myself,
Marissa
Hernandez
and
a
second
by
governing
board
member
Denise
Garcia
governing
board
member
Lydia
Hernandez.
How
do
you
vote?
Thank
you,
Miss
Hernandez
governing
board
member
Denise
Garcia.
How
do
you
vote?
Thank
you,
Miss
Garcia.
Vice
president
Pedro
Lopez.
How
do
you
vote?
Thank
you,
Mr
Lopez
Ivory
as
well,
and
the
motion
carries
unanimously.
A
Item
number
two
is
our
second
reading
for
adoption
regarding
revised
policy.
Gccb
professional
support
staff
personnel
I'm
going
to
do
that
one
over
second
reading
for
adoption.
Regarding
revised
policy,
gccb
professional
support
staff,
personal
emergency,
religious
leave,
the
administration
provides
to
the
board
the
proposed
revised
second
reading
for
adoption.
Regarding
the
revised
policy.
Gccb
professional
support
staff,
personal
emergency
religious
leave.
A
Annual
leave
will
not
be
granted,
except
with
permission
by
the
superintendent
during
the
following
periods
on
the
day,
immediately
proceeding
or
following
a
holiday
or
vacation
during
the
first
week
of
school
or
the
last
week
of
school.
On
a
day
when
a
teacher
is
scheduled
to
administer
an
Arizona
State
mandated
assessment
unless
prior
to
the
scheduling
of
the
ER,
unless
prior
to
the
scheduling
of
the
state
mandated
assessments,
prior
authorization
has
been
obtained
from
the
site
administrator.
A
The
revision
adds
additional
language
to
include
or
the
superintendent's
designee
and
changes.
The
language
from
agreement
to
policy
exhibit
gccb-e
is
a
newly
created,
exhibit
to
support
policy
gccb
and
is
presented
to
the
board
so
that
they
are
aware
of
the
new
exhibit.
However,
it
does
not
require
board
approval,
exhibit
gccb-e
will
be
added
to
the
policy
manual.
A
All
right,
so
I'd
like
to
make
a
motion
for
adoption
of
revised
policy.
Gccb
professional
support
staff,
personal
emergency,
religious
leave
at
the
Cartwright
Elementary
School
District
governing
board
public
hearing,
slash
regular
meeting
of
October
20th
2022.
do
I
have
a
second
thank
you
Miss
Garcia,
so
we
do
have
a
motion
made
by
myself
Marissa
Hernandez
and
is
second
by
Denise
Garcia
governing
board
member
governing
board
member
Lydia
Hernandez.
How
do
you
vote.
B
Madam
president
fellow
board,
members,
before
placing
my
vote
just
for
clarification
as
well
I
just
want
to
want
to
clarify
the
the
statement
made
prior
to
taking
vote
that
it
does
not
require
board
approval.
C
I
think
I
can
explain,
I
think
in
the
prior
one
and
this
one
those
were
advisories.
That's
language
that
comes
out
of
the
advisory
from
asba.
That's
saying
you
can
either
accept
this
advisory
or
you
don't
have
to
accept
this
advisory.
So
it's
asba
saying
these
are
recommended,
but
the
board
doesn't
have
to
adopt
these.
It's
not
that
we're
saying
if
we
are
going
to.
In
other
words,
if
we
are
going
to
adopt
them,
you
are
correct
that
they
are
policy
changes
and
require
board
approval
to
adopt.
Does.
C
B
A
Board
member
Denise
Garcia:
how
do
you
vote?
Thank
you,
Miss
Garcia.
Vice
president
Pedro
Lopez.
How
do
you
vote?
Thank
you
Ivory
as
well,
and
the
motion
carries
unanimously
I'd
also
like
to
clarify
for
the
record.
This
is
not
a
public
hearing,
my
apologies,
it
was
a.
We
were
oh
my
gosh.
If
I
could
get
my
brain
to
make
my
mouth
go,
it
was
a
ribbon
cutting
for
our
GLD
gym,
so
I
do
apologize
for
that.
Thank
you
all
right.
So
we
are
going
to
move
on
to
item
three,
which
is
our
approval.
A
D
The
administration
recommends
the
governing
board
approval
to
reschedule
the
December
8th
governing
board
meeting
date
and
move
it
to
December
16th
revising
the
22-23
governing
board
meeting
schedule,
the
purpose
for
rescheduling
this
meeting
is
due
to
the
governing
board
attendance
at
the
2022
annual
Cube
conference.
The
conference
was
initially
scheduled
in
September,
was
rescheduled
for
our
governing
board
meeting
date,
December
8th
through
the
10th
due
to
the
extreme
weather
conditions.
If
you
remember
in
Miami
Florida
thank.
E
D
Board
president
members
of
the
governing
board
team,
I
am
so
sorry.
It
was
brought
to
my
attention
that
December
16th
is
a
Friday.
D
So
it
should
be
December
6th
15th.
C
A
Revising
the
2022-2023
governing
board
meeting
schedule
at
the
regular
meeting
of
the
Cartwright
Elementary
School
District
governing
board
for
October
20th
2022.
do
I
have
a
second
thank
you,
Miss
Garcia
governing
board
member
Lydia
Hernandez.
How
do
you
vote
aye?
Thank
you.
Ms
Hernandez
governing
board
member
Ms
Denise
Garcia.
How
do
you
vote?
Thank
you,
Miss
Garcia!
Vice
president
Lopez.
How
do
you
vote?
Thank
you.
Mr
Lopez
Ivory,
as
well
in
the
motion,
carries
unanimously.
We
have
moved
our
meeting.
Thank
you
all
right.
It's
time
to
pass
the
torch.
D
Thank
you
board,
president
members
of
the
governing
board
executive
leadership
team
I'm,
going
to
pass
it
over
to
Miss
hargi
Emma.
Let
me
give
you.
F
Good
evening
governing
board
president
superintendent
Aguilar
governing
board
members
and
everyone
here
in
attendance,
I'm
going
to
go
ahead
and
introduce
Minister
rayapina.
He
is
going
to
be
doing
a
quick
presentation
to
kind
of
answer
a
couple
questions.
They
were
brought
up
by
one
of
our
board
members
about
sros
and
attendance
with
sros.
Thank
you,
Mr
Pina.
G
The
school
safety
grants
we
currently
have
in
place
to
fund
our
school
resource
officers.
Our
focused
heavily
on
addressing
school
safety
needs
in
reviewing
the
grant
applications
that
were
funded
to
help
us
secure
the
school
resource
officers
who
are
currently
at
sites.
It
was
clear
that
the
priorities
of
the
stakeholders
preparing
the
Grant
application
were
focus
on
School,
Safety
and
Security
at
the
time
of
the
application,
attendance
or
true
or
truancy,
initiatives
were
not
an
area
of
need
identified
in
the
grant
applications
resulting
in
our
current
SEO
rsro
grants.
G
G
Law
related
education
is
a
large
portion
of
their
school
day,
lre
as
we
refer
to
it
as
based
on
the
individual
needs
of
the
school
community,
and
it
can
vary
also
from
site
to
site.
One
example
of
a
relevant
lre
topic
that
has
been
addressed
in
our
district
at
one
of
our
schools
is
the
recording
of
violence
or
vandalism
on
social
media.
That
was
is
one
example
of
a
topic.
The
current
school
safety
Grant
team
meets
on
a
regular
basis
for
training
and
also
to
ensure
we're
in
compliance
with
the
safety
grants.
G
Currently
in
place,
we
will
be
working
on
reviewing
the
current
grants
and
also
applying
for
additional
grants
to
support
additional
sros,
probably
starting
in
December.
As
soon
as
the
information
is
released
on
the
website.
During
our
application
process,
we
will
certainly
take
a
serious
look
at
our
attendance
and
truancy
concerns
at
the
schools
when
we're
applying
for
school
safety
grants.
G
We
do
know
that
if
Scholars
are
not
attending
school,
they're
learning
and
achievement
levels
will
be
impacted.
Due
to
this
lack
of
learning
opportunity,
average
daily
attendance
is
part
of
our
school
report
card
formula
and
school
principals
are
leading
those
efforts
to
improve
attendance
in
our
schools.
I
wanted
to
share
that.
We've
made
several
changes
in
2022
2023
school
year
to
support
our
attendance
and
increase
average
daily
attendance.
G
We've
increased
our
attendance
clerk
position
or
changed
it
from
part-time
positions
to
full-time
positions
in
2223.
In
order
to
address
concerns
related
to
attendance
and
truancy,
we
created
a
Cartwright
attendance
checklist.
The
cuts
checklist
supports
our
court,
unified
truancy
suppression
program,
which
is
a
partnership
with
Maricopa
County
Court
System.
G
G
We
want
to
thank
our
team
for
increasing
the
hours
for
our
attendance
clerks
and
ensuring
that
each
school
has
one
full-time
person
dedicated
to
attendance.
This
has
helped
to
improve
our
efforts,
has
ensured
also
that
we
have
one
person
in
the
office
dedicated
to
our
attendance
efforts,
and
this
concludes
my
presentation.
Thank
you.
A
B
Ahead,
Ms
Hernandez
president
fellow
board,
members
Dr
Lawler,
executive
team,
those
in
the
audience
and
well
I-
guess
not
watching
right.
Just
a
question.
I've
been
hearing
a
lot
of
conversation
about
not
only
schools,
but
organizations
that
provide
that
are
I.
Guess
are
coming
up
with
providing
this
kind
of
service
like
recruiting
from
this
specific
population.
That's
not
attending
schools,
because
it's
happening
all
over
the
place
and
the
rise
in
those
numbers
of
the
students
just
following
by
the
wayside
not
going
to
school.
G
B
And
follow
up
and
provide
you
with
some
of
that
information
I'm
just
because
I'm
hearing
it
and
it's
prevailing,
you
know
high
schools
and
it's
all
over,
but
I
wasn't
aware
of
that.
I
mean
I,
know
it's
happening,
but
I'm,
seeing
something
getting
creative
or
established
to
address
those
so
but
I'll
leave
it
up
to
him.
But
thank.
D
D
While
we
came
back
from
fall
break
and
by
the
looks
of
all
of
you,
it's
been
a
little
challenging
look
at
those
faces,
they're
working
so
hard,
but
again
I
do
want
to
Echo.
Thank
you
to
Mrs
Nash
Mr
dosto.
All
the
glenel
down
staff
are
hosting
the
governing
board
meeting
tonight.
D
I
feel
like
everyone's
so
far
away,
though
it
seems
a
little
different
and,
of
course
thank
you
to
Dr
Medrano
Moss
building
operations,
I.T
for
assisting
with
the
coordination
of
all
this
yeah,
the
I-team
they
do
that
they
have
that
thing:
yep,
yep,
beautiful
Gem
and,
of
course
you
can't
make
any
of
this
happen
without
Linda
and
Christine.
So
thank
you.
They've
been
out
here
a
lot
and
it's
working
see
no
worries
at
all.
Okay.
D
I
also
want
to
thank
the
entire
car
wreck.
Community,
as
I
said
earlier
in
my
welcoming
remarks
everyone
on
the
team
for
this.
This
is
a
huge
celebration
and
even
for
all
of
our
principals
as
well
I'd
like
to
say
congratulations
to
Heather
Brave,
they
have
been
named
by
Alliance
for
healthier
Generations,
the
2022
list
of
America's
healthiest
schools.
Look
how
healthy,
Mr
Craig
looks
over
there
yeah.
D
So
this
recognition
celebrates
406
schools
Nationwide
for
their
achievements
and
Heather
brace
school
is
being
recognized
for
strengthening
social,
emotional,
health
and
learning.
Congratulations
I
also
like
to
say
congratulations
to
Starlight
Park
and
principal
Huntley
from
the
community
school.
They
had
a
couple.
Events
over
the
fall
break,
Scholars
and
teachers
contributed
to
finishing
the
mural
and
helped
create
a
community
garden.
D
Students
also
participate
in
a
soccer
Clinic
with
two
players
from
the
Phoenix
Rising
team.
Vice
president
Lopez
was
there.
He
conducted
several
live
interviews
with
Fox
10
3TV
Arizona
I'd
like
to
say
thank
you
to
Phoenix
Rising
for
your
partnership,
all
the
community
members
that
went
on
all
the
families,
principal
Huntley,
the
teachers
and
the
scholars
from
Starlight
and
all
the
volunteers.
D
Please,
if
you
have
a
chance
to
go
by
Starlight,
to
see
how
beautiful
it
looks,
you'll
you
just
will
be
so
excited
about
that
also
at
Starlight
park,
because
principal
Huntsville
Huntley
didn't
want
to
take
a
break.
They
actually
teamed
up
with
the
Phoenix
fire
department
to
provide
the
local
community
with
brand
new
smoke
detectors.
D
Also
this
week
huge
celebration
for
Holiday
Park
trees
matters
was
out
there
with
principal
Kinsley
this
past
week
and
I'd
like
to
thank
trees
matter
for
the
partnership
and
20
volunteers
from
Verizon
bno
staff,
Holiday
Park
staff
for
the
volunteers.
It
looks
amazing
again
if
you
can
go
to
Holiday
Park
the
new
drop
off
and
pick
up
and
now
all
the
new
trees
that
are
around
the
playground
is
absolutely
beautiful
and
I
know.
D
This
Civics
event
will
engage
approximately
500
Middle
School
Scholars
and
their
teachers
from
20
schools
across
Arizona.
Please
congratulate
Lori
for
a
wonderful
experience.
I
can't
wait
to
see
that
I'm
gonna
I
think
be
there
as
well.
So
congratulations
this
morning,
principal
Huntley,
Miss
Emma
and
myself
attended
a
Goodwill
event.
D
It
was
at
the
Phoenix
Arts
Center,
it's
a
true
honor
for
Cartwright
to
celebrate
that
Arizona
has
its
very
first
Excel
campus,
serving
adult
Learners
with
many
job
opportunities.
High
School

in
Cartwright
in
the
building
right
next
door
to
Starlight
campus
I
would
like
to
thank
vice
president
Lopez
for
bringing
this
opportunity
to
our
district
and
principal
Huntley
has
already
made
this
a
huge
partnership
for
that
Community,
School
portion
and
they're
coming
to
speak
to
her
parents
at
the
cafecitos
and
I
know.

Our

will
be
available
to
be
viewed
in
November,
but
the
two
of
these,
both
Heather
Bray
and
Palm
Lane
Elementary,
did
an
amazing
job.
I
was
able
to
have
the
privilege
to
view
these
in
person
and
they're
amazing,
and
it
would
be
absolutely
wonderful
if
one
day
they
decided
to
capitalize
on
it
and
start
selling,
it
I'm
sure
they'd
have
a
lot
of
offers
really
quickly.
A
All
right,
that's
enough
for
me
in
the
art
display.
Although
I
could
talk
about
the
art
all
evening.
It's
amazing
item
number
two
is
presented
by
Jeff
stratman
and
is
our
first
reading
for
information
regarding
policy
advisory,
737-738
volume,
34.
number
three
dated
September
2022.
Thank
you.
C
You,
madam
president,
members
of
the
board
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler.
This
policy
advisory
is
again
an
asba
policy
advisory
737.
This
was
related
to
recent
Arizona
law
that
came
out
that
says
that
the
covet
vaccine
is
not
required
in
school
districts,
so
that
actually
was
an
impetus
for
some
change
to
the
actual
total
immunization
policy
that
lists
all
of
the
immunization
requirements,
and
it's
really
just
a
clean
up.
It
makes
it
look
like
a
much
cleaner
format
than
what
it
previously
was.
So
that's
what
737
is
about.
C
738
is
related
to
records,
requests
and
new
legislation
that
requires
the
district
to
post
prominently,
a
contact
person
individual
in
their
contact
information
for
those
who
want
to
seek
public
records.
So
it's
just
an
update
to
that
regulation.
A
Thank
you,
Mr
stratman,
any
questions
or
concerns
from
the
governing
board,
all
right
hearing,
none.
We
will
move
on
to
item
three
presented
by
Dr

Thank
you,
Governor
board,
president
members
of
the
government
board
executive
team
principals
and
those
in
the
audience
at
the
governing
board
meeting
of
September
27
2022.
It
was
requested
by
the
governing
board
to
bring
the
policy
regulations
and
Exhibits
for
our
governing
board
members
to
review
and
discuss
potentially.
H
Thank
you,
madam
president,
Dr
agler
Lawler
fellow
board
members,
executive
team
and
also
in
the
audience
it
is
I'm
the
one
that
requested
these
items
to
be
brought
for
review
and
I
I
guess.
My
hope
is
that
we
can
figure
out
a
way
how
to
improve
the
policies,
or
at
least
you
know,
do
as
much
as
we
can
within
the
ARs.
So
we
have
to
implement
more
accountability
with
the
parents
as
well.
H
I
know
that
our
policies
indicate
that
whenever
we
suspend
a
child-
or
there
is
an
issue
with
bullying
I
know
the
parent
has
to
come
into
the
school
and
on
campus.
But,
given
you
know
the
continue
our
cases
of
this
issue,
not
only
you
know
in
our
communities,
but
you
know
throughout
the
state
of
the
country.
H
It
is
my
hope
that
Mr
stratman
can
figure
out
a
way.
How
to
you
know,
make
this
a
little
bit,
not
harder,
but
more
strict
and
again,
you
know,
increase
accountability
on
the
parent
side
so
that,
once
a
child
is
set
to
return
to
campus,
we
can
have
some
sort
of
you
know,
assessment
or
meeting
or
a
meeting
with
the
counselors
or
or
some
some
something
somehow
and
I
know
that
we've
had
a
conversation
with
this
and
I
know
that
the
ARs
is
specific
and
has
limitations
of
what
we
can
do.
H
Perhaps
it's
an
encouragement
to
the
parent
to
do
either
a
counseling
session
or
or
something
so
that
we
can.
You
know,
continue
to
not
only
do
our
part
on
the
campus,
but
also
encourage
that
to
happen
at
home
as
well,
so
for
the
board
members,
if
you
have
any
ideas,
as
in
the
past
I
mean
again
you're,
you're
more
than
welcome
to
reach
out
to
district
office
and
and
provide
some
of
the
feedback.
But
I
think
this
will
be
a
drop
for
the
the
attorney
here
that
we
have
on
the
dice.
D
Board
president
members
of
the
board,
vice
president
Lopez,
so
what
I'm
going
to
do
is
I'm
going
to
ask
Mr,
Pina
and
Dr
Bettis
to
set
up
a
meeting
with
me
just
to
initially
talk
about
this
and
and
Miss
Emma
hotaghi.
To
kind
of
talk
about
this
with
the
lens
of
what
vice
president
Lopez
said
and
we'll
take
a
look
at
it
before
it
even
gets
to
you
know
he
usually
gets
the
final,
yay
or
nay
so
I'd
like
to
give
him
some
opportunities
and
also
definitely
involve
our
principles.
D
F
A
F
Good
evening
governing
Brook
president
Hernandez
governing
board
member
our
superintendent
Dr
Aguilar

audience
this
evening.
We
are
going
to
be
doing
another
kind
of
update
and
explaining
a
partnership
that
we
are
moving
forward
with
Mr
Lopez.
Vice
president
Mr
Lopez
did
bring
this
to
our
attention
and
him
and
Dr
Prez
did
have
a
great
meeting
with
this
organization,
so
I'm
going
to
go
ahead
and
introduce
Dr
Price
to
give
us
an
update.
Thank
you.
F
E
You
good
evening
governing
board
president
Hernandez
governing
board
members
superintendent,
Dr,
Aguilar,
Lawler,
executive
team
guest
here
in
the
audience
on
Tuesday
December.
Excuse
me:
September
27th
board.
Vice
president
Mr
Pedro,
Lopez
and
I
met
with
representatives
from
zeropath
creative
Health,
Services,
Miss,
Colleen,
Bart,
Ruff,
Chief,
Operating,
Officer
and
Miss
Aaron
Regan
life
skills
director
introducing
us
to
their
various
counseling
services.
E
They
specialize
in
individualized
counseling
sessions
that
provide
social
and
emotional
growth
for
Scholars
to
thrive
in
school
and
succeed
in
life.
They
support
Scholars
that
might
struggle
with
interpersonal
issues
and
are
affecting
school
performance
and
they
help
Scholars
process
through
events,
situations
that
may
be
impacting
classroom
Behavior.
E
They
provide
individualized
classroom
and
out
of
classroom
skill
development
by
partnering
directly
with
youth,
to
enhance
Independent
Living
skills
and
they
assist
with
problem-solving
and
conflict
management
skills
that
will
help
with
school
and
life
success
and
they
help
Scholars
develop
relationships
that
are
meaningful
in
and
out
of,
the
classroom,
all
at
no
cost
to
the
district,
we'll
be
moving
forward
with
the
partnership,
pending
attorney
review
and
approval,
and
we
look
forward
to
providing
you
more
information
as
we
work
with
zeropath
and
continue
the
conversations
with
their
representatives.
Thank
you.
H
Thank
you,
madam
president.
Dr
agler,
Lawler
fellow
board
members,
executive
team
and
also
in
the
audience,
as
mentioned
before
on
the
previous
board
meeting
I,
requested
that
we
as
a
district
look
at
the
opportunity
to
you
know,
build
a
partnership
with
this
provider.
One
of
the
things
that
caught
my
attention
from
this
provider
is
that
they
also
follow
the
student
in
the
work
home,
so
they
work
with
the
families
and
the
students
at
home
after
school
and
also
on
the
weekends.
H
So
again,
the
work
is
intentional
and
I
understand
that
you
know
we
can
only
do
so
much
at
a
campus
throughout
the
school
day.
But
again
this
this
provider
has
a
a
history
and
track
record
to
provide
exceptional
customer
service
and
services
after
school,
as
well
as
like
Dr
Perez,
mentioned
programs
and
support
throughout
the
campuses.
Counselors
a
behavioral
specialists
life
skills.
Again
we
know
that
as
a
district.
We
we
have
some
of
these
things
right
now,
but
again
these
are
additional
services
that
can
be
provided
to
us
at
no
cost
to
the
district.
H
Yes,
you
know
it
is
a
cost
to
the
health
insurance
that
the
students
may
have.
However,
the
the
beauty
of
this
this
provider
is
that
they
are
very
intentional,
as
well
working
with
families
that
don't
have
the
insurance
through
a
private
Grant.
You
know
to
the
governor's
office,
so
they
don't
turn
any
student
away
for
the
lack
of
insurance,
and
it
is
my
hope
that
they
can
work
together
with
our
district.
H
B
You,
madam
president,
fellow
board,
members
Dr
Lawler
executive
team
indels
in
the
audience
a
question
regarding
the
organization
Creative,
Solutions
and
Healthcare
is:
are
they
working
in
partnership
with
other
school
districts?
And
maybe
you
said
it
and
I
didn't
hear
that.
E
No,
do
you
vice
president
Lopez.
H
Thank
you,
madam
president.
Dr
agler
Lawler
fellow
board
members
executive
team
board
member
Hernandez.
They
they
have
a
presence
in
in
Yuma
County,
and
they
also
have
a
presence
here
in
Maricopa
County,
mainly
with
Charter
Schools
right
now
and
they're
entering
the
public
school
districts
as
well,
so
under
presentation,
I'm,
hoping
that
they
can
come
to
a
board
meeting
and
percent.
Obviously
our
district
office
is
doing
their
their
work
to
check.
You
know
everything
with
this
with
this
provider,
but
I
I've
seen
some
other
model,
they're
they're
huge
in
New
York.
H
H
They
are
working
with
Public
Schools,
not
in
the
state
of
Arizona,
yet
they're,
barely
in
the
process
of
doing
the
same
thing
that
we're
doing
here
us
with
us
to
neither
enter
in
Partnerships
with
school
districts.
But
they
do
have
charter
schools
in
Arizona
that
they
service
and
they
do
have
public
schools
in
the
East
Coast.
H
From
what
I
saw
and
the
research
that
I
did,
the
the
providers
are
in
the
East
Valley,
so
they
they
started
in
the
in
the
east
coast.
They
are
now
based
in
Arizona
and
they're,
hoping
that
Arizona
is
going
to
be
their
next
state
where
they
do
a
lot
of
services
and
work.
I
met
the
the
team
as
well,
and
so
once
they
come
they'll
be
able
to
share
their
story
as
of
how
they
got
started.
H
The
team
that
funded
this
organization.
He
was
a
child
that
needed
a
lot
of
services
back
in
the
east
coast
and
he
received
those
services,
and
so
it
was
a
life-changing
experience
for
him
and
that's
what
led
him
to
continue
to
do
this
work
now.
So
once
he
comes
and
his
team
they'll
be
able
to
share
all
of
those
questions
with
with
the
board
members
and
the
team
for
all
of
us
to
see
the
work
that
they've
done
back
in
the
east
coast,
but
also
here
in
the
state.
B
Thank
you
for
that.
I
I
didn't
know
whether
is
there
any
relation
with
the
with
Texas
Fort
Worth
creative
health.
H
As
of
now,
based
on
what
I've
seen
on
their
website,
it's
only
in
New,
York
and
Arizona,
so
I
don't
have
the
answer
for
that,
but
once
they
come,
we
can
head
in
with
a
bunch
of
questions.
Okay,.
B
Thank
you
just
wanting
to
know
where
the
home
base
is
and
the
you
know
the
intention
of
spanning
and
growing
I
like
what
they,
what
I'm
hearing
just
just
still
wanting
to
know
some
of
that
background,
but
thank
you.
A
H
H
So
I
would
like
to
see
if
the
board
is
willing
to
at
some
point
before
I
would
say
the
end
of
this
year
in
December,
see
if
we
can
convene
at
a
future
agenda
item
to
have
a
discussion
about
our
sros,
the
what
opportunities
do
we
have
to
increase
the
presence
of
them
in
our
other
campuses?
I
know
it's
a
grant
to
the
City
of
Phoenix.
I
know
it's
very
costly.
I
know,
there's
a
shortage
of
them.
H
What
we
know
is
that
sros
work
in
our
district,
the
partnership
between
the
parents
and
the
students
and
the
staff
is
phenomenal.
I've
had
a
chance
to
see
five
campuses
with
them
and
see
the
interaction
with
the
parents,
the
students
and
so
with
the
whole
issue
of
safety
happening
I.
Think
it's
vital.
We
had
a
safe
and
caring
committee.
They
put
up
recommendations
two
board
meetings
ago,
I,
believe
we
approve
an
agenda
item
for
security
on
our
campuses.
I
say
deterrent,
however,
we
did
have
the
conversation
about
the
officers.
H
I
mean
the
the
agents
being
armed
or
unarmed.
We
know
what
the
limitations
are
through
the
ARs
in
the
state
capital.
Hopefully
you
can
do
some
of
the
good
work
Lydia
out
there
wants
to
take
session.
However,
right
now
our
only
option
to
continue
to
provide
a
deterrent,
a
stronger
deterrent
to
our
campuses,
I
I
believe
is
through
sros
or
ssos,
and
so
yes,
it
is
going
to
be
a
cost
to
our
district.
H
H
However,
with
the
city
of
Phoenix,
things
move
a
little
bit
slower
and
the
council
offices
I
think
it's
important
for
us
to
have
the
conversation
now
to
see
what
opportunities
we
have
and
so
that
this
may
be
an
agenda
item
that
we
can
start
to
have
a
presentation
and
a
conversation
as
a
district
and
probably
from
there,
we
can
Branch
out
to
either
a
study
session
or
to
a
executive
session
to
see
what
options
we
have
so
that
we
can
provide
some
direction
to
our
superintendent
on
this
issue
or
not
issue
on
this
topic,
so
that
we
can
gear
up
for
the
next
school
year
that
we
have
coming
up
and
and
talk
about
funding
as
well,
because
that's
that's
a
major
issue.
H
I
think
that
the
funding
issue.
It's
it's
a
question,
so
I'm
hoping
that
maybe
another
of
my
fellow
board
members,
if
not
three
of
them-
can
support
this
idea
tonight
to
move
into
a
conversation
at
a
later
time.
B
You,
madam
president,
Villa
board
members,
Dr
Lawler,
executive
team
and
those
in
the
audience
just
a
question
to
that,
because
I
know
we
just
discussed
it
and
we
did
approve.
Could
you
Dr,
Lawler
or
attorney
remind
me
of
that?
What
we
approved
was
the
security
officers,
for
is
that
for
for
one
year,
how
long
was
it
I'm
trying
to
recall.
C
Yes,
well,
what
we
have
right
now
is
we're
Hiring,
Our,
Own,
internal
security
monitors
through
our
safe
and
caring
team,
and
that
will
be
for
the
balance
of
this
year,
but
you
know
can
be
indefinitely.
We
we
don't
have
intention
to
not
continue
that
into
next
year,
but
we
would
have
the
opportunity
to
also
consider
other
options
as
well.
B
B
I'm,
just
thinking
you
know
of
the
the
upcoming
conversation
I
know,
we've
had
an
opportunity
to
discuss
and
at
the
time
I
just
want
to
remind
us
that
I
know
we're.
We've
approved
something,
and,
and
so
what
you
were
thinking
of
the
SRO
officers
or
discussion
is
to
on
top
of
that
or
to
continue
both
or
to
have
both
at
the
same
time
or.
H
Thank
you,
madam
president,
Dr
agler
Lawler
fellow
board
members,
executive
team
and
those
in
the
audience.
I
recently
was
a
district
office
and
I
had
a
question
to
Mr
scrapman
and
so
I
got
some
clarity
on
that,
because
I
did
ask
for
an
update.
It
am
I.
Is
it
safe
to
share
why
we
did
our
hiring
or
can
you
explain
why
we're
hiring
internally
now
yeah.
C
I
just
want
to
caution.
This
is
not
an
agendized
item
tonight,
we're
getting
into
some
dialogue
about
whether
you
know
what
it
means
to
move
forward
and
so
forth
and
okay.
We
just
need
to
agendaize
an
item
for
you
all
to
have
a
discussion
about
this,
which
we
certainly
can
do.
There's
a
request
for
a
future
agenda
item
that
that
would
allow
us
at
the
November
meeting
or
the
December
meeting
to
to
have
some
further
dialogue
to
see
what
individual
board
members
think
about
this
discussion.
C
H
You,
sir,
thank
you,
sir
and
I,
guess
to
answer
your
question
board
member
lady
Hernandez.
This
will
be
an
additional
layer.
We
do
have
the
sros
we
do
have
our
security
team
coming
in.
So
we're
having
a
my
hope
is
a
weekend
again
add
another
layer,
because
we
only
have
seven
campuses
with
the
sros
and
we
have
20
campuses
right
now.
So
it
is
another
layer.
B
B
You
know
moving
forward,
but
I'm
certainly
open
to
the
discussion
without
sharing
any
of
the
legalities
of
what
they're
going
to
be
doing,
but
I
think
it's
healthy
to
be
having
these
open
conversations.
You
know
with
with
our
parents,
with
our
stakeholders
and
I
know
that
Phoenix
Union
has
just
held
one
today
so
without
you
know
going
into
implicitly,
but
thank
you
thank.
A
A
We
are
going
to
move
on
to
our
item
e
sorry
item
I,
which
is
our
announcement,
a
future
meeting
date
and
other
routine
information
concerning
the
governing
board.
The
next
regular
governing
board
meeting
will
be
held
on
Thursday
November
17
2022
at
five
o'clock
P.M
at
the
Cartwright
School
District
boardroom
item
J
is
our
adjournment.
So
I
would
like
to
make
a
motion
for
adjournment
of
the
cartrid
elementary
school
district
governing
board.
Regular
meeting
of
October
20th
2022
do
I
have
a
second
thank
you,
Mr
Lopez.
A
We
have
a
motion
made
by
myself,
Mr
Hernandez
and
a
second
by
vice
president
Pedro
Lopez
Miss
Lydia
Hernandez.
How
do
you
vote?
Thank
you,
Miss
Hernandez
Mr,
Denise
Garcia.
How
do
you
vote?
Thank
you,
Miss
Garcia!
Vice
president
Lopez.
How
do
you
vote?
Thank
you,
Ivory
as
well,
and
the
motion
carries
unanimously.
Let
the
record
reflect
it
is
603
pm
put
us
in
a
gym
and
we
got
record
time.
Thank
you.
Everybody
be
safe.
Thank
you
so
much
for
being
here
this
evening
and
we
will
see
you
at
the
next
one.
