A
B
C
C
C
This
evening
we
have
some
very
important
Representatives
here
with
us,
and
what
we're
going
to
do
is
when
I
say
your
name
I
feel
like
we're
in
school.
Now
you
will
come
up
to
the
podium.
Introduce
yourselves
do
your
own
bios
make
it
make
it
your
own
all
right.
So
this
evening
we
have
our
principal
representative,
Mr
Jeremy,
Chandler,
Sunset,
School,.
D
C
E
Thank
you,
I
pushed
it
earlier,
but
I
don't
know
why
I
didn't
push
it
right
now,
good
evening,
everybody
Madam
president
and
doctor
Waller
and
board
member
I
want
to
thank
you,
because
you
didn't
yell
at
me
for
coming
up
and
talking
earlier,
but
I
just
wanted
them
to
continue
with
this
and
be
able
to
just
have
a
good
experience
with
all
the
resolutions
that
were
being
trying
trying
to
be
given
out.
E
So
I
am
a
parent
of
four
wonderful
children
and
they
three
of
them,
go
to
the
district
schools
and
we
are
very
proud
to
represent
Cartwright
because
it's
actually
been
like
a
familiar
to
me
into
my
family.
So
with
that
being
said,
I'm
also
the
vice
president
of
the
parent
advisory
committee
and
I.
Don't
think
I
need
to
say
anymore,
but
I'm
happy
to
be
here
and
to
meet
all
of
you.
Thank
you.
C
F
Hi
good
evening
governing
board
president
Hernandez
governing
board
members,
Dr
Lawler
and
the
executive
team.
My
name
is
Alex
casares
I.
Thank
you
for
actually
saying
my
last
name
correctly.
It's
very
hard
for
most
people,
I
am
in
a
I.T
employee,
I'm,
a
proud
ESP
I
am
the
current
Treasurer
have
been
for
the
last
three
years
and
I
am
the
negotiating
chair
as
well
for
the
cea
team
for
the
last
two
years.
Thank
you.
G
Well,
good
evening,
president
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler
governing
board
members
and
executive
team
and
those
in
the
audience
I'm
just
very
happy
to
say
that
we
celebrated
32
students
who
scored
100
in
their
state
test
and
I
would
like
you
to.
I
would
like
to
direct
your
attention
to
to.
D
G
To
the
screens,
so
you
can
see
the
the
video.
H
G
J
L
K
And
I
did
not
know
that
this
this
party
was
gonna
happen.
So.
K
Well,
it
feels
so
good
to
be
with
your
parents
celebrating
that
you
learned
a
lot.
N
G
That
was
such
a
beautiful
event.
I
would
like
to
go
on
to
the
next
item.
We're
also
proud
to
share
with
you
that
the
Cartwright
School
District
was
recognized
as
a
champion
of
sustainability
for
building
more
sustainable
communities
by
SRP.
This
is
an
acknowledgment
of
the
expensive
projects,
including
solar
panels,
installations
that
you
have
seen
here
in
the
district
and
also
in
other
schools.
I
would
like
the
word
to
accept
this
award,
so
I'm
going
to
ask
you
guys
too.
If
you
can,
please
come
over
and.
B
G
And
we're
privilege
to
be
able
to
be
able
to
move
forward
with
this
project.
I
know
there
are
other
districts
struggling
trying
to
get
this
approved,
but
we
have
seen
it
in
the
parking
lot
solar
panels.
We
when
we
go
to
different
schools,
you
know
we
were
able
to
make
it
happen.
Thank
you,
Dr,
Lawler
and
I'm
going
to
present
another
video.
This
is
a
GCU
partnership
partner
with
a
principal.
This
is
a
great
program
and
you're
going
to
see
one
of
our
principals
participating
with
ucu.
L
At
GCU,
we
are
always
looking
for
ways
to
outreach
to
our
community,
and
so
we
jumped
right
on
board
when
we
heard
about
the
partner
with
principal
program,
because
it
was
a
way
for
us
to
get
individuals
from
Grand
Canyon
University,
who
maybe
aren't
as
familiar
with
how
K-12
schools
work
and
operate
on
a
regular
basis
to
get
them
to
go
in
and
really
experience
the
day
in
the
life
of
a
principal
learn
a
little
bit
more
about
K-12
schools
and
then
also
explore
ways
for
us
to
partner
with
those
schools
into
the
future.
I.
P
Went
back
and
was
able
to
connect
principal
Corley
with
our
K-12
education
development
department,
they're,
going
to
be
coming
out
here
to
see
what
she's
doing
getting
her
connected
to
some
of
the
programming
that
we
have
we're.
Also
looking
at
ways
that
we
can
partner
through
our
learning
Lounge,
to
get
students
here
on
campus
to
be
on
hand,
support
for
some
of
the
after-school
efforts
that
Tomahawk
Elementary
might
pursue
the.
Q
Other
thing
I'm
really
excited
about,
is
being
able
to
participate
on
the
education
advisory
Consortium
board,
because
that
will
help
to
allow
to
have
a
bigger
platform
to
speak
about
the
things
that
really
schools
need.
What
do
our
teachers
need
to
know
coming
in?
How
do
they
need
to
be
prepared
to
enter
and
walk
into
a
classroom.
L
We
partner
with
schools
in
a
number
of
different
ways,
so
professional
development,
of
course,
is
a
huge
partnership
that
we
do
with
a
lot
of
our
schools.
Bernard
black
is
a
great
example
of
a
school
that
we
were
able
to
come
in
and
help
from
a
professional
development
perspective
because
they
were
working
on
implementing
new
programs
at
their
school
and
they
needed
the
support
to
be
able
to
do
that.
R
I've
been
teaching
for
27
years
now,
and
I
had
tried
projects
with
my
students
before,
but
once
we
started
working
with
GCU
and
they
got
me
understanding
more
about
design
thinking,
I
was
able
to
kind
of
create
some
projects
and
put
them
together
with
the
students.
The
things
that
we
do
with
GCU
is
invaluable,
because
it
really
is
something
that
we
can
see
in
action
in
the
classroom.
S
Project
based
learning
teaches
me
how
to
work
with
others
and
how
to
work
as
a
team.
It.
T
Allows
students
to
use
their
creativity
Innovation
and
develop
their
communication
skills
they've
learned
to
collaborate
and
work
in
groups,
they've
learned
to
take
ideas
that
they've
had
and
do
something
with
those
ideas
problem
solve
those
ideas,
the
more
people
that
get
involved,
the
more
ideas
are
generated
and
the
better
well-rounded
student
we
can
develop.
We're.
L
Able
to
bring
in
new
skills,
new
ideas
to
Bernard
black
or
to
the
other
schools
that
we
work
with.
But
then
our
students
at
GCU
get
lots
of
opportunities
to
interact
with
the
schools
as
well
resulting
from
our
Partnerships.
So,
for
example,
in
a
number
of
different
schools,
our
GCU
robotics
Club
will
Mentor
the
robotics
clubs
that
are
starting
at
our
K-12
schools,
which
also
helps
our
GCU
students,
because
what
we
know
is
when
you
begin
to
teach
a
skill.
You
learn
it
way
more
deeply
than
when
you
are
just
receiving
the
skill.
L
When
schools
come
to
us
and
say
here's
what
we
need,
we
don't
go
up.
Nope
can't
help
you.
Instead,
we
say:
okay,
let's
figure
out
how
to
make
that
happen.
So
I
think
what
you
would
notice
if
you
talk
to
a
lot
of
schools,
is
that
we
partner
with
every
school
a
little
differently,
because
it's
all
based
upon
what
they
need
and
what
the
assistance
that
they've
asked
for
is.
P
L
If
you
have
something
that
you
think
you
can
share
with
K-12
pick
up
the
phone
give
them
a
call,
see
who's
in
your
neighborhood.
What
schools
are
in
your
neighborhood
and
be
persistent
and
keep
asking?
How
can
I
help?
How
can
I
help,
because
I
can
guarantee
you
that
there's
a
lot
of
different
ways
that
organizations
can
help
K-12
to
be
more
successful
foreign.
C
Thank
you,
Victor.
Our
next
item
is
call
to
the
public
consideration
and
possible
discussion
of
comments
and
complaints
from
the
public.
The
governing
board
will
not
take
any
legal
action
on
matters
raised
during
this
portion
of
the
meeting.
Unless
the
comments
and
complaints
pertain
to
items
included
on
the
agenda,
the
governing
board
president
will
cite
applicable
time
limits
based
on
the
number
of
public
comments
received
up
to
three
minute
time.
Limit
is
set
and
all
are
asked
to
adhere
to
this
limit.
C
The
governing
board
may
direct
staff
to
study
matters
raised
by
the
public
or
to
reschedule
those
matters
for
future
consideration,
discussion
and
possible
action
at
a
later
date.
All
right.
Our
first
call
to
the
public
is
from
Leticia
Castro
and
she'd
like
to
address
the
board
regarding
celebration
of
CSD.
U
There's
karaoke
and
everything
good
evening,
president
Hernandez
governing
board
members,
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler,
executive
team
and
those
in
attendance
I,
was
elected
by
my
principal
colleagues
to
share
with
you
a
few
of
the
many
things
that
we've
been
able
to
accomplish
under
the
leadership
of
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler
is
an
Innovative
superintendent
that
leads
by
example.
She
listens,
learns
and
includes
all
stakeholders-
all

U
U
U
U
We
have
parent
Liaisons
at
all,
schools
that
help
offer
classes
and
help
strengthen
the
relationship
between
home
and
school
goal.
Number
three.
We
have
counselors
and
rtibs
and
a
district
SEL
team.
There
was
listening
tours.
We
have
food
trucks
for
all
Dr
Lawler
during
distance
learning.
Every
week
we
could
account
on
a
personal
connection,
email
with
a
story
of
you,
encouraging
us
and
reminding
us
that
as
one
team
una
Familia,
we
can
get
through
it.
U
U
Because
Mr
Lopez
said
it
best
during
one
of
our
strategic
plannings
a
couple
weeks
ago
and
I
quote:
Dr
Lawler
gave
everyone
a
seat
at
the
table.
She
listens
and
she
gets
things
done
and
I
sit
at
the
table
really
means
everyone:
teachers,
parents,
students
and
eighth
grade
student
group.
Innovative
a
pack
group
for
parents,
esps
and
the
community.
U
C
C
C
V
Good
evening
governing
board
president
Miss
Hernandez,
Board
of
vice
president
Mr
Lopez
esteemed
board
members,
along
with
our
executive
team
and
everyone
at
home.
You
did
such
a
great
job,
my
my
that
I,
probably
am
not
going
to
be
too
redundant.
So
I'm,
going
to
kind
of
speak
a
little
bit
from
the
heart
as
a
school
principal
I've
been
standing
on
the
sidelines
recently
just
kind
of
watching
recent
events
that
have
prompted
me
to
speak
up
and
I.
V
V
The
mission
of
the
Arizona
Education
Association
is
providing
quality
public
education
for
all
and
when
I
first
got
here
22
years
ago
and
cea
was
in
the
room
where
they
recruit,
because
we
always
would
get
invited
to
come
and
speak
to
new
teachers
I'm
sitting
in
a
group
of
200
plus,
because
that's
when
we
were
really
big
and
I.
Remember
thinking
to
myself.
My
dad
was
a
union
member
of
CWA.
V
That
no
worries,
so
my
dad
was
a
member
of
CWA
I'd,
seen
my
dad
go
through
strikes
and
it
just
made
sense
that
I
sign
up.
Quite
honestly,
it
was
a
first
year
teacher
and
scared
to
get
in
trouble,
so
that'd
be
nice
to
have
a
backup
if
I
ever
got
in
that
position,
but
really,
as
I
began,
to
get
more
involved
in
the
association.
It
was
Judy
Moy
in
fact
who
drew
me
in
and
from
her
leadership
and
mentorship.
V
So
I
have
served
every
role
in
the
cea
executive
branch
2
director
at
aea,
so
I've
set
on
the
state
level
as
I
reflect
on
my
years
as
a
CA
president.
What
I
can
say
that
I
couldn't
successfully
do
that
CA
had
done?
Was
my
team
and
I
had
made
multiple
attempts
to
build
a
student-centered
and
collaborative
agenda
with
members
of
the
governing
board
and
the
superintendents
that
were
in
leadership
at
the
time
so
past
presidents
before
me,
and
afterwards
we
continued
to
fight
for
a
seat
at
the
table.
V
In
fact
we're
our
current
CA
is
sitting
with
the
intent
to
build
trusting
relationships
with
Administration
after
four
superintendents.
This
collaborative
agenda
was
finally
realized.
The
work
and
efforts
that
went
into
building
relationships
from
predecessors
of
myself
and
the
reality
is
whether
CA
wants
to
admit
it
is
because
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler
took
helm
and
she
welcomed
cea,
the
first
major
organization
to
have
a
seat
at
the
table
and
consistently
meet
with
the
superintendent
so
and
so
I
sat
back
now
as
a
principal
and
thought
to
myself.
This
is
absolutely
amazing.
V
All
that
work
had
finally
paid
off
now.
Just
like
principal
Castro
said
this
includes
our
parents,
principals
Scholars,
who
my
student
gets
disappointed
when
it
got
canceled
by
the
way
Jennifer
was
very
disappointed.
I
told
her.
Don't
worry,
they're
going
to
reschedule
so
I
was
excited
for
teachers
and
ESP
to
be
welcomed,
but
now
I'm
just
saddened,
I'm
saddened
with
cea
leadership
currently
who
have
taken
a
path
of
an
adversarial
role.
V
So,
while
I
remain
hopeful
that
this
can
resolve
itself
and
move
forward,
I
want
to
commend
again
the
governing
board
for
all
of
your
support.
You've
always
supported
us.
You
supported
Administration
our
Scholars,
always
with
the
scholars
being
who
we
prioritize,
because
we
do
what's
best
for
kids
and
I
just
have
to
say.
After
what
I
saw
this
evening,
while
I
have
continued
to
maintain
my
membership.
V
I
have
officially
decided
this
evening
after
that
that
I
we
no
longer
the
values
of
the
aea
and
CA
are
no
longer
mine,
so
I
would
have
continued
to
do
that
until
I
just
saw
what
I
saw
so.
Thank
you,
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler.
Thank
you
governing
board
for
all
of
your
support
and
continued
support.
It's
much
greatly
appreciated.
Thank
you.
C
Thank
you,
Mr
Hill,
our
next
call
to
the
public
is
from
Chico
Robinson
again.
I
do
believe
he
has
left
for
the
evening.
So
we'll
move
right
past
that
one
and
our
final
request
to
address
the
board
this
evening
is
from
Mr
Mike
Clark,
and
he
would
like
to
address
the
board
regarding
sharing
gratitude
and
thanks
to
Dr
Lawler
for
her
leadership
and
support.
Thank
you
for
being
here
this
evening.
Mr
Clark.
W
I
would
evening
Madam
president
governing
board
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler
members
of
the
executive
team,
those
in
attendance
and
watching
on
YouTube
I
was
told
by
this
group
behind
me
not
to
rap
so,
but
I
would
like
to
share
so
first
off
I
just
want
to
thank
you
for
allowing
me
the
time
and
the
opportunity
to
speak
tonight
again:
I'm
Mike,
Clark,
the
proud
principal
at
Desert,
Sands,
Middle,
School,
Academy
of
mass
communication
and
journalism
tonight.
I
proudly
represent
myself
my
campus
and
my
fellow
principals.
W
My
primary
purpose
tonight
is
to
extend
gratitude
and
thanks
to
our
fearless
leader
and
superintendent,
Dr
Aguilar
tomato
faced
an
impossible
task.
Three
minutes
to
capture
the
impact
that
you
as
a
leader
and
a
human
being
have
made
on
our
district.
The
impact
you've
made
on
our
community
the
impact
you've
made
on
each
campus,
the
impact
you've
made
on
our
Scholars
and
the
impact
you've
made
on
me
as
a
leader.
The
list
of
celebrations
and
successes
is
endless,
and
it
would
be
impossible
for
me
to
capture
them
all
this
evening.
W
Nevertheless,
you
heard
many
of
them
from
my
colleagues
tonight
we
speak
in
support
of
you.
We
speak
to
what
we
see
and
observe
on
a
daily
basis.
We
speak
to
what
we
experience
day
in
and
day
out,
under
your
leadership
and
tonight
it
is
an
honor
to
serve
as
a
principal
under
your
leadership,
you
do
the
following
things
and
you
do
them
consistently.
You
listen
and
value
the
voices
of
those
that
you
serve
more
than
any
leader
I've
ever
heard.
W
Before
from
the
jump
you
began
with
listening
tours,
where
you
made
it
a
point
to
give
a
voice
to
every
stakeholder
in
our
community.
Not
only
did
you
listen,
but
you
took
action
and
you
continue
to
take
action
based
on
those
voices.
I've
asked
myself
why?
Why
do
you
listen
so
much
to
everybody?
In
my
humble
opinion,
there's
no
other
answer.
It
is
that
you
just
truly
deeply
care
about
those
that
you
serve
two
you
Empower
and
build
capacity
in
a
way
that
allows
so
many
to
experience
leadership
themselves.
W
Like
my
colleague
said,
we
are
sitting
here
tonight
with
a
place
at
the
table
for
parents
for
esps
certified
staff,
and
our
Scholars
I
can
name
real
people
in
my
life
that
have
been
touched
by
your
leadership
in
each
category
that
I
just
named,
because
the
opportunities
you've
provided
and
the
Partnerships
you've
built
with
them
and
three.
You
challenge
complacency
and
you
create
change.
It
would
be
foolish
of
us
to
ignore
the
accomplishments
and
the
growth
that
we
have
made
towards
all
of
our
goals.
W
During
a
time
in
education,
when
succeeding
seems
nearly
impossible
with
your
action
and
dedication,
we
continue.
We
can
continue
to
strive
for
greatness
in
our
community
and
that's
because
you
have
substituted
complacency
with
courage
within
your
leadership
day
in
and
day
out,
I
know
I'm,
not
here
alone,
when
I
confidently
say
that
as
a
leader
and
a
human
being,
you
have
led
us
with
bravery,
compassion,
urgency,
empathy,
understanding
and
Grace.
While
doing
that,
you
have
always
kept
our
Scholars
as
the
number
one
priority.
W
So
today
we
will
continue
to
set
the
bar
high
for
our
Scholars
for
our
staff
and
ourselves,
and
we
will
strive
to
lead
with
those
same
characteristics
that
you
have
led
us
with
once
more.
We
are
full
of
gratitude
and
thanks
for
your
selfless
service
and
Leadership,
and
we
are
so
proud
tonight
to
have
the
opportunity
to
stand
in
support
of
you,
Dr
Aguila
Weller.
Thank
you
for
your
leadership.
C
With
that,
we
will
move
on
to
our
item
G,
which
is
our
consent
agenda.
Our
adopted
rules
of
parliamentary
procedure
provide
for
a
consent
agenda
listing
several
items
for
approval
of
the
board
by
a
single
motion.
Items
listed
under
the
consent
agenda
have
gone
through
a
review
and
recommendation
process.
Documentation
concerning
these
items
has
been
provided
to
all
board
members
and
the
public
in
advance
to
assure
an
extensive
and
thorough
review
items
may
be
removed
from
the
consent
agenda
at
the
request
of
any
board.

X
Y
If
you'll
recall,
we
did
this
project
as,
what's
called
a
construction
manager
at
risk
selection
process.
The
reason
we
did
that
was
because
of
the
nature
of
the
the
size
and
scope
of
the
project,
the
anticipated
budget
and
the
fact
that
we
anticipated
numerous
subcontractors
would
be
needed.
So
we
wanted
to
make
sure
we
had
a
qualified
general
contractor
firm
to
assist
us
with
the
project
so
that
selection
process,
the
way
that
happens
and
the
procurement
rules
is
that
a
contractor
is
selected
on
qualifications
alone.
Initially
and
price
can't
even
be
considered.
Y
So
we
want
to
make
sure
we
get
a
qualified
contractor.
We
had
a
competitive
process,
a
selection
committee,
lots
of
interest
in
the
project,
I,
don't
remember
all
the
firms
I'm
familiar
with
most
firms
in
Arizona,
General,
Contracting
firms
and
as
I
recall,
any
of
them
would
have
been
able
and
qualified
to
complete
the
project.
Y
So,
after
that
happens,
we
get
into
a
deeper
dive
of
design
and
building
out
a
budget
and
price
for
the
project.
So
that's
where
we
are
this
evening,
so
I'd
like
to
ask
if
Jennifer,
wesfulness
and
Ignacio
gastellum
could
come
up,
I
apologize,
I,
sometimes
Ignacio
I
get
his
last
name,
not
completely
correct
Jennifer's
with
ADM
group.
Y
The
design
team
on
this
project
they've
been
with
us
recently
to
design
several
projects
very
reputable
firm
based
here
in
Arizona
and
by
the
way
minority
owned,
which
is
always
a
good
thing
and
Ignacio.
Obviously,
a
minority-owned
company
as
well
owns
writing
construction
company.
So
Jennifer,
could
you
speak
a
little
bit
of
just
a
reminder
board
the
scope
of
the
project.
Y
Z
Good
evening,
Dr
Lawler
members
of
the
board,
Madam
president,
thank
you
for
having
us
here
tonight
we're
here
to
give
you
just
a
brief
synopsis
of
the
design
and
construction
that
is
about
to
start
at
Borman,
Elementary,
School,
again,
I'm
Jennifer,
West,
School
news
with
ADM
group
and
Ignacio
with
right
tan.
Is
this
my
Clicker?
Z
There
we
go
okay,
so
why
did
we
start
this
project?
When
the
executive
team
brought
this
project
to
us,
there
were
a
number
of
challenges
that
the
school
was
facing.
So
we
worked
with
the
team
and
Sierra
the
principal
to
identify
all
these
different
areas
and
basically
there's
three
main
points
on
the
campus
that
we're
focusing
on
one
is
a
new
administration
building.
The
second
is
a
new
kindergarten
playground
and
the
third
is
updated
track
and
field
with
bleacher
seating,
so
the
administration
building.
Z
If
you
know
a
little
bit
about
the
history
of
Borman,
the
original
administration
building
flooded
out,
the
offices
then
needed
to
move
to
the
Middle
School
building.
This
resulted
in
inadequate
parking
difficult
way.
Finding
there
was
not
parking
right
there.
You
were
entering
the
point
on
the
campus.
Z
That
really
wasn't
meant
to
be
the
main
point
of
entry,
and
now
that
we're
looking
so
much
into
security
of
our
schools,
we
thought
it
was
important
to
recognize
a
new
single
point
of
entry
for
this
campus,
a
new
front
door
as
you'll
see
in
the
next
couple,
slides
the
I
the
place
where
we
decided
to
locate
the
new
administration
building
happens
to
be
where
the
kindergarten
playground
is
now,
which
also
needed
updating
the
older
equipment
not
to
code
and
needed
a
general
facelift
and
then
finally,
the
third
part
of
the
project
was
to
update
the
track
and
field
and
create
bleacher
seating.
Z
Z
This
this
this
field
will
also
be
equivalent
to
what's
going
on
at
Desert
stands
and
then
a
special
thing
for
the
district
that
Dr
Lawler
really
was
was
encouraging
is
to
create
a
a
grandstand
bleacher
at
this
location
that
so
that
district-wide
events
can
be
held
here
and
not
have
to
go
outside
of
the
district
for
rental,
so
see
just
a
couple
of
quick
before
photos.
The
old
Administration
office,
which
is
essentially
not
being
used
right
now
for
its
intended
purpose.
Z
Some
flooding
at
the
here
I
got
my
little
pointer
so
I'm
Flooding
at
the
to
track
the
day
we
were,
we
were
walking
it
and
then
the
old
kindergarten
play
area
that
we
are
replacing.
Z
Quick
overview
of
the
site
plans:
this
is
a
side
by
side
of
what
the
existing
site
plan
is
and
then
what
the
new
site
plan
is
so
right
now
the
old
administration
building
was
located
right
here.
It
was
then
relocated
to
the
Middle
School
Wing.
So
you
can
see
there
was
some
parking
there,
but
not
enough
really
to
handle
visitors
Etc.
So
so
that
was
those
areas.
Then
we
have
our
existing
track
location,
our
existing.
Z
Let
me
find
it
area
where
the
kindergarten
playground
is
now,
so
what
we
are
proposing
is
the
new
administration
building
will
be
located
here
near
the
cafeteria
near
the
kindergarten
kind
of
makes
sense
as
a
new
front
door
to
the
campus.
It's
located
near
the
main
parking
area
as
well,
so
the
the
new
front
entry
will
be
off
of
this
street.
Z
Here
Rejuvenation
of
the
track
and
field
rubber
track
surfacing
and
natural
grass
build
on
the
inside
with
the
Thousand
seat,
bleacher
seating
here
and
then
the
new
kindergarten
playground
will
actually
be
moved
in
Board
of
this
school.
Z
Z
The
the
floor
plan
for
the
new
administration
building.
All
of
the
main
Administration
functions
will
be
brought
into
this
building.
We
have
a
secure,
Lobby
entry,
main
single
point
of
entry.
Once
visitors
are
in
this
space,
they
need
to
meet
with
the
receptionist
here
and
then
they
are
either
buzzed
onto
campus
into
the
building
back
to
the
nurse,
and
the
police.
Sro
will
be
located
front
and
center
right
here.
Z
Some
quick
little
renderings
of
the
building
the
the
building
will
match
the
rest
of
the
buildings
on
the
campus
it'll
be
masonry
and
we
will
have
a
kind
of
a
marquee
front
entry
there
with
your
with
the
logo
and
clear
wayfinding
as
to
where
the
front
door
of
the
campus
is.
Z
Some
little
and
large
plans
of
the
kindergarten
play
area.
The
central
Courtyard
now
has
the
three
quadrants
here.
One
of
those
quadrants
is
going
to
be
taken
up
with
the
new
play
area,
which
will
be
a
mixture
of
a
couple
different
levels
of
play,
equipment
and
then
some
artificial
turf
patches
with
shade
as
well.
Z
And
as
Mr
stratman
had
explained,
this
project
was
procured
using
cmar
and
what
it
after
our
team
works
together
during
the
design
to
come
up
with
the
costs,
and
we
come
up
with
called
a
GMP
which
is
called
a
gross
guaranteed
maximum
price.
So,
at
the
point
that
you
approve
this
tonight,
this
is
guaranteed
maximum
price.
So
it
should
not
go
over
this
during
the
course
of
the
construction.
You
can
see
the
big
number
there
at
the
top
lots
of
Little
Numbers
I'm
on,
underneath
that
you
probably
can't
read
but
Ignacio.
AA
Thank
you,
Jennifer
Madam
president
members
of
the
government
board
Dr
Leanne
Lawler,
executive
staff.
So,
with
the
girls
maximum
price
of
GMP,
we
actually
went
out
to
Elise.
We
received
at
least
three
to
four
subcontractor
bids
per
trade,
so
we
actually,
it
was
a
public
bid
for
others
as
well,
so
that
each
subcontractor
has
an
opportunity
to
provide
us
with
their
most
qualified
bid.
So
we
did
receive
at
least
three
to
four
per
trade,
which
we
ended
up,
selecting
the
most
qualified
and
lower
bid.
AA
Z
Right
and
and
where
we're
at
with
the
project
right
now
is
obviously
awaiting
the
approval
of
GMP
tonight,
and
the
City
of
Phoenix
is
currently
reviewing
our
drawings
for
permit.
We
did
receive
the
first
round
of
comments
back
yesterday,
and
so
we
are
currently
addressing
those
and
hopefully
have
a
permit
in
hand
in
the
next
few
weeks.
AB
A
Madam
president
Philip
board
members,
Dr
Lawler,
executive
team
goes
in
the
audience,
and
those
watching,
just
just
I,
have
to
say
it
for
the
record.
So
this
is
not
something
that
going
back
to
our
just
previous
discussion
regarding
doing
away
with
a
contract
being
able
to
we
canceled
it
out,
took
other
actions
looking
for
the
funding.
It's
not
something.
I
can
tell.
Let's
not
do
the
school
and
it's
that
restricted
type
budget
right
just
for
the
record
I,
please
so
I
understand
it.
Y
Yes,
all
of
this
project
will
be
funded
by
the
voter,
approved
Capital
bond
funds,
which
you
know
those
are
very
specific
as
to
what
you
can
use
those
funds
for,
and
one
of
those
is
restoration
and
construction
projects.
So
your
voters
approved
those
dollars
for
these
specific
type
of
projects,
so
these
type
of
funds
cannot
be
used,
except
for
those
areas
that
were
indicated
in
the
voter
pamphlet
that
the
voters
approved
likewise.
X
Dr
agler
Lawler
fellow
board
members,
executive
team,
no
question
just
a
comment:
I
as
I
visited
the
campus
earlier
this
year,
I
I
found
the
parent
and
I
parked
by
the
parking
lot
area,
and
so
she
was
looking
for
the
office
and
they
told
her
it's
right
here,
I'm
heading
there
by
the
stop
sign,
so
we
get
there
and
the
gate
is
closed
and
we
can't
find
the
office
so
I
called
the
school,
and
then
they
redirected
me
towards
the
the
field
and
so
I
thought
that
I
was
going
crazy
because
I
visited
that
campus
on
my
first
term
when
Norma
haraji
was
the
principal
there
I
believe,
and
it
was
only
one
visit
and
so
now
I
the
office
disappeared
and
then
moved
to
a
new
location.
X
C
C
Okay
with
that
I'd
like
to
make
a
motion
for
the
board
approval
of
the
Boardman
School
construction
project
issued
under
our
fq
number
21-22-006,
to
write
10
construction
for
a
guaranteed
maximum
price,
not
to
exceed
4.8
million
dollars
and
authorizes
the
superintendent
to
finalize
sign
and
execute
the
final
contract
documents
on
behalf
of
the
board
and
the
district
for
the
project
to
proceed
under
this
guaranteed
maximum
price
at
the
November
17
2022
Cartwright,
Elementary
School
District
governing
board
study
session
with
regular
meeting
and
executive
session.
Do
I
have
a
second
second.
C
Thank
you,
Mr
Lopez.
We
do
have
a
motion
made
by
myself,
Marissa
Hernandez
and
a
second
by
vice
president
Pedro
Lopez
and
we'll
go
on
to
a
roll
call
vote
Miss
governing
board
member
Denise
Garcia.
How
do
you
vote
hi
vodai?
Thank
you
governing
board
member
Lydia
Hernandez.
How
do
you
vote?
Thank
you,
Miss
Hernandez
governing
board.
Vice
president
Pedro
Lopez.
How
do
you
vote.
X
C
B
Thank
you
board,
president
members
of
the
governing
board
audience
and
those
viewing
on
YouTube
I
have
a
couple
reports
this
evening.
First
like
to
start
with
introducing
Dr
Heather
Cruz,
our
assistant
superintendent
of
educational
services,
to
give
our
governing
board
an
update
of
our
letter
grades.
Dr
Cruz
foreign.
AC
Good
evening
board
president
Hernandez
superintendent,
Aguilar
Lawler
governing
board
executive
team,
all
those
viewing
on
YouTube
and
here
with
us
in
the
audience
tonight
like
to
give
an
update
on
our
our
letter
grades.
They
were
released
on
the
evening
of
October
31st
I,
believe
they
were
supposed
to
be
released
on
November
1st
statutorily.
They
were
released
a
little
bit
early,
so
we'll
give
everybody
an
update
on
those.
AC
So
just
to
remind
everybody,
here's
the
formula
which
I'm
sure
makes
everybody
dizzy
just
looking
at
this,
but
just
a
reminder.
It
is
made
up
of
30
proficiency,
50
growth
and
10
percent
of
our
English
language,
Learners,
passing
Rosella
and
then
10
of
some
other
acceleration
or
Readiness
measures
which
we'll
talk
about
in
a
little
bit
and
just
a
reminder.
We
are
talking
about
the
aasa
state
assessment
that
we
took
last
spring.
So
last
April.
AC
Thank
you,
and
here
are
our
letter
grades.
It's
that
we
that
we
earned
this
past
this
past
spring.
So
we'll
go
into
more
detail
about
those
later
and
talk
about
some
celebrations
with
some
of
those.
AC
Okay,
is
it
okay
to
move
on
and
I'm
gonna
come
back
to
that?
You're
gonna
see
that
again,
all
right
here
we
go,
and
so
we
did
also
give
you
a
breakdown
of
all
the
points
by
the
measures
of
each
one
of
those
for
each
one
of
our
schools
and
then
the
rubric
for
that.
So
you
could
see
how
close
were
each
one
of
our
schools
to
the
next
level
you
can
see.
AC
Some
of
our
schools
were
very,
very
close
to
to
the
next
level,
so
some
of
them
were
like
just
taking
to
that
next
level.
You
can
see
them
back
there
just
still
like
just
that.
One
extra
little
bonus
point
would
have
done
it.
AC
So
just
to
call
your
attention
we
do.
We
do
do
a
comparison
and
we'll
talk
a
little
bit
about
that
they
compare
grades
and
they
do
that
for
each
one
of
the
scholars
from
when
they
take
the
test
in
the
spring
to
a
test
grade
from
the
former
year
and
that's
how
they
show
growth.
AC
While
this
here
was
a
little
bit
of
a
strange
year
right,
because
not
all
of
our
Scholars
had
a
test
score
from
the
former
year,
so
they
had
to
go
back
two
years
for
some
of
our
Scholars
so
and
and
our
letter
grades
they
had
to
go
back
quite
a
few
years.
So
it's
just
been
strange
all
the
way
around
for
so
many
things.
So
you
can
see
the
comparison
between
our
letter
grades
from
1819
to
2021
22.
AC
So
we
can
start
right
now
with
sunset.
Our
a
School
Mr
Jeremy
Chandler,
our
principal
of
the
evening,
so
been
an
a-rated
school
since
11
12..
So
that
is
a
huge
celebration
not
to
be
unnoticed
and
underrated.
So
I
like
to
really
lift
that
up
and
say
thank
you,
Mr
Jeremy
Chandler
for
continuing
that
you
can
thank
Dr
Rosso
for
that
I,
don't
even
know
what
she
she
pulled
pictures
from
everywhere.
Sorry
about
that,
so.
AC
But
if
you've
ever
been
on
Sunset
campus,
you
know
that
I
mean
we
have
high
expectations
on
all
of
our
campuses
but
Sunset.
It's
just
such
a
nice
place.
Nice
place
to
be
and
Desert
Sands
I
mean
when,
when
Mike
went
to
Desert
Sands
it
was
in
F,
school
I
know.
Dr
Lawler
has
told
this
story.
She
told
it
to
me
and
she's
like
I,
don't
even
know
how
I'm
gonna
sell
this
to
my
I'm,
just
like
how
am
I
gonna
sell
this
to
this
poor
guy.
AC
So
I
mean
and
and
all
of
this
is
not
by
accident
right
and
we're
celebrating
teachers
all
along
the
way
as
well,
so
all
of
our
teachers,
all
of
that
hard,
hard
work
all
through
the
pandemic
hanging
in
there
with
us,
with
our
Scholars
doing
amazing
work.
So
so
thank
you.
Mike
Clark,
amazing
work,
amazing.
AC
And
then
Palm,
Lane
and
Peralta
also
new
principles
that
came
into
D
schools
and
move
them
to
a
b,
both
of
them.
AC
And
and
Miss
Christine
Ramirez
excellent
work,
excellent
work,
both
of
them
so
really
just
awesome,
work
and
again
I
just
want
to
keep
celebrating
our
teachers
that
really
had
the
tenacity
and
persistence
to
to
Really
continue
that
work.
AC
And
then
we
also
had
three
schools
that
moved
from
a
c
to
a
b,
so
we'll
celebrate
Miss
Sierra
McAllister
with
Borman.
AC
Lots
of
hard
work,
Miss
Deborah
Kinsley,
with
Holiday
Park
foreign.
AC
And
then
we
can't
can't
forget
our
B
schools.
I
mean
just
amazing
work
continuing
through
all
of
this
pandemic
work
and
they
were
able
to
maintain
that
work.
So
our
our
G
Frank
Davidson
with
you,
know,
Miss
Christine
who's
now
with
us
and
Ed
services,
so
excited,
and
then
you
know
DD's
continuing
that
work.
Yay
foreign
Vivian
Nash
doing
that
work
at
Downs.
AC
So
and
again,
all
of
this
is
with
hard
work
of
our
our
esps,
our
our
staff,
all
of
our
teachers.
None
of
this
is,
is
done
on
our
own,
so
next
steps
and
goals.
Certainly
this
is
not
the
end.
Our
goal
is
to
have
all
a
schools.
AC
We
we
know
this,
so
we
have
a
lot
of
work
to
do
and
I
know
that
all
of
our
principals,
our
teachers,
our
asps,
we're
focused
on
that
goal
and
all
of
our
Scholars
are
going
to
continue
to
go
grow.
We
are
moving
them
towards
proficiency
and
we're
working
towards
all
of
that.
We
had
plans
in
place
to
do
this
so
with
that
I'm
happy
to
stand
for
any
questions.
C
Thank
you,
Dr
Cruz,
any
questions
from
the
governing
board.
All
right,
you
did
such
an
incredible
job.
We
have
no
questions.
Thank
you
for
putting
the
photo
of
the
kids
from
DC
up
there.
Whoever
did
that.
That's
really
cool
our
eighth
graders
now
off
into
high
school,
this
year's
freshman
so
yeah.
Thank
you,
Dr
Cruz,
congratulations
to
everyone!
Thank
you
for
all
of
your
hard
work.
It
takes
everyone
in
each
of
the
schools
to
make
it
happen
and
we're
super
proud
and
excited
for
all
of
the
growth
that
you
continue
to.
B
Thank
you
board,
president
members
of
the
governing
board.
As
always,
there's
work
to
do,
and
you
know
extracurricular
activities
and
Athletics
are
extremely
important
to
our
community.
However,
we've
had
a
few
concerns
out
there.
Some
celebrations,
too,
which
I
will
share
in
a
bit
in
a
little
bit,
but
I'm
gonna
ask
Ryan
Anderson
to
come
up
and
provide
a
presentation
on
some
updated
expectations
for
athletics
and
the
participation.
Thank
you.
Ryan.
B
M
You
good
evening
board
president
members
of
the
governing
board,
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler,
executive
team
and
everyone
in
attendance
this
evening,
I'm
going
to
be
presenting
some
updated
athletic
participation,
expectations
that
we've
recently
discussed
and
released
with
our
athletic
directors.
In
response
to
some
concerns
that
we've
seen
around
the
state
and
and
even
in
our
own
District.
M
So,
to
start
the
presentation
tonight
before
we
talk
about
any
of
the
concerns,
I
wanted
to
start
with
our
philosophy
for
athletics
in
the
Cartwright
School
District,
and-
and
this
is
information
and
that
comes
directly
from
our
athletic
directors.
This
is
through
their
collaboration
over
the
past
few
years
on
how
they
look
at
Athletics
here
in
in
a
K-8
Elementary,
School
District,
and,
as
you
look
at
the
philosophy
that
they
have
up
there,
you
you
see
what
stands
out.
M
Is
we
really
believe
that,
through
organized
athletic
programs,
we
can
support
our
Scholars
with
self-discipline,
responsibility,
leadership,
teamwork,
self-confidence
and
we
can
promote
scholar
wellness
and
beyond
that.
We
believe
that
our
athletic
programs
can
enhance
our
child's
educational
experience
and
provide
opportunities
for
them
to
become
leaders
and
role
models
on
their
campus
and
within
the
community,
and
this
philosophy
really
drives
what
we
do
in
athletics
within
our
district.
M
But
one
thing
I
do
want
to
point
now
it
is
you
don't
see
any
mention
there
of
you
know
producing
winning
teams
or
organizations
or
competition,
because
at
the
elementary
level,
it's
it's
really
more
than
that.
It's
about
developing
skills
that
are
Scholars
can
take
on
well
beyond
just
their
education,
but
into
their
lives,
and
where
we
talk
about
things
like
responsibility
and
Leadership,
because
that's
really
what's
important
at
this
level
and
and
especially
for
some
of
our
Scholars,
you
know
who
are
passionate
about
Athletics.
M
M
M
But
what
we've
seen
over
the
past
few
years
is:
we've
seen
an
increase
in
in
poor
behavior
from
Spectators
and
and
those
who
are
attending
our
athletic
events
and
and
as
a
result,
in
that
we've
seen
a
decrease
in
referees
who
are
willing
to
officiate
these
athletic
events
and
we've
also
seen
a
decrease
in
the
willingness
of
coaches,
more
people
to
coach
who
want
to
coach
these
athletic
programs,
and
it's
become
a
real
issue
where
it's
kind
of
spiraled
over
the
years
where
you
know,
because
people
complain
about
the
refs
or
about
the
coaches,
then
you
have
less
qualified
refs
unless
qualified
people
who
want
to
coach
and
then
people
continue
to
complain
because
of
that,
and
so
in
the
Cartwright
School
District.
M
We
have
started
to
exp
we've
seen
you
know,
small
incidents
of
that,
nothing
on
the
level
of
the
high
school
programs,
but
we
want
to
be
proactive.
We
want
to
get
out
in
front
of
that
and
we
want
to
address
these
issues
head
on
and
we
don't
want
to
end
up
like
some
of
the
high
school
districts
who
are
really
struggling
with
these
areas.
M
M
You
know
what
it
means
to
be
involved
in
our
athletic
programs,
provide
them
with
training
on
our
philosophy
and
and
what
it
means
to
have
Middle
School
athletics,
as
we
kind
of
I
talked
about
in
the
beginning,
about
responsibility,
leadership,
those
core
values.
We
want
to
make
sure
that
we
provide
training
to
these
stakeholders
on.
M
You
know
what
it
means
to
be
a
coach
and
what
our
expectations
are
for
our
coaches,
what
our
expectations
are
for
our
scholar,
athletes
and
for
our
parents
and
our
Guardians,
and
so
we
want
to
be
very
forthright
and
and
provide
that
training
for
all
of
these
individuals
right
at
the
beginning
of
every
sport
season
and
then,
of
course,
provide
a
spectator
code
of
conduct.
So
for
those
who
aren't
able
to
attend
our
trainings
because
there
may
not
be
a
family,
member
or
or
a
coach,
but
for
other
Spectators.
M
M
So
all
of
these
expectations
are
laid
out
in
this
Compact
and
we
ask
that
our
coaches
are
Scholars
and
our
parents
and
Guardians
sign
off
on
this
at
the
beginning
of
every
Sports
season
and
then.
Finally,
the
last
piece
to
this
is
a
posted
spectator
code
of
conduct,
and
so
this
is
something
we're
going
to
work
on
with
our
print
shop
to
develop
these
signs
in
both,
of
course,
Spanish
and
English.
That
will
be
posted
at
all
of
our
gyms
and
our
athletic
fields.
M
So
even
those
Spectators
who
maybe
didn't
go
through
our
training
and
had
to
have
opportunity
to
be
experienced
to
our
values
and
and
what
we
deem
important
with
our
athletic
programs
that
they
at
least
see
this
code
of
conduct
and
how
we
expect
our
Spectators
to
behave.
And
again,
everything
is
in
very
positive
language.
We
want
them
to
understand
what
our
philosophy
is
for
athletics.
M
We
want
them
to
support
their
athletes,
but
to
do
it
in
a
positive
way
through
cheering
and
applauding
and
most
importantly,
understanding
that
they're
a
role
model
for
not
only
the
athletes
in
the
games,
but
also
a
role
model
for
our
Scholars
who
are
spectating
at
the
games
and
and
that
actually
comes
up
a
lot.
Even
in
the
compact
in
our
our
training.
M
So
that
concludes
my
presentation
and
just
in
conclusion,
I
would
just
like
to
say
that
you
know
the
most
important
thing
is
that
we
want
to
provide
a
positive
atmosphere
for
our
families,
a
positive
atmosphere
for
our
Scholars.
We
want
to
continue
our
athletic
programs,
make
sure
that
we
get
the
best
officials
and
the
best
coaches
and
hopefully,
by
being
proactive,
we
can
prevent
any
of
the
issues
and
concerns
at
some
other
school
districts
have
faced
at
this
time,
and
so
that
concludes
my
presentation.
I'll
stand
for
any
questions.
AB
Thank
you,
madam
president.
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler
executive
team,
everyone
in
attendance.
Thank
you
for
that
I.
You
know.
Sometimes
we
think
that
behaviors
are
common
sense.
We
expect
positive
behaviors
and
it
isn't
always
so
common
right.
So
I
appreciate
that
the
info,
the
packet
you
know,
and
the
information
and
I
a
little
share,
so
I
used
to
my
daughter,
played
softball
back
in
high
school
and
so
I
was
always
there.
Y
AB
A
AB
Would
take
the
snacks
I
just
had
such
a
ball
and
my
daughter
used
to
say
mom?
Why
do
you
always
have
to
be
here?
Can't
you
be
like
the
other
parents
and
you
don't,
then
don't
come
all
the
time?
No,
not
an
option,
but
I
I
really
appreciate
that
and
I'm
in.
If
you
want
to
invite
us
and
encourage
that
positive,
behavior
interaction
because
you're
right,
they
see
everything
we
do
and
we
can
role
model
just
being
ourselves.
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
C
Thank
you,
Miss
Garcia.
No,
because
you
did
how
how
large
will
The
Spectator
code
of
conduct
signs
be?
Will
it
be
like
the
banners
that
we
typically
see
when
we
walk
into
the
schools
for
the
sport
events?
There's
usually
like
I,
don't
know,
some
of
them
are
coveted
things,
and
some
of
them
are,
you
know
smaller,
like
maybe
the
size
and
then
there's
the
big
banners
that
we
have
I'm
just
curious.
M
Thank
you
board,
president
Hernandez.
So
this
is
something
we're
still
working
on
with
our
print
shop,
so
we
will
work
with
them
to
make
sure
that
they
are
big
enough,
that
they
can
easily
be
seen
from
anywhere
in
the
gym
and
I.
Think
our
plan
is
to
have
a
couple
sets
in
the
gym
and
a
couple
sets
at
our
athletic
fields.
So
hopefully
no
matter
where
you're
sitting
or
wherever
our
entrance
entrance
points
are
that
they're
big
enough
and
easy
for
people
to
see
as
they
come
in
and
see
them.
C
Awesome.
Thank
you,
fellow
members
of
the
board
executive
team,
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler,
everyone,
that's
here
in
attendance
and
everyone
watching
on
YouTube
I
forgot
to
do
it
the
last
time.
Thank
you
very
much.
I
really
appreciate
the
board
really
appreciates
all
of
the
efforts
that
went
into
this
to
ensure
that
our
Scholars
not
only
exhibit
good
behaviors
and
positivity,
but
also
the
spectators,
and
sometimes
as
parents,
because
I
go
to
these
games
too.
My
daughter
plays
soccer
and
basketball.
Sometimes
we're
not
the
nicest.
C
You
know
we
forget
that
it's
it's
middle
schoolers
and
they're
playing
just
to
enjoy
the
game
and
to
learn
the
basics
and
I.
Don't
know
some
of
us
are
like
Al
Bundy
out
there
trying
to
relive
our
dreams
through
our
kids
and
vicariously,
and
we
shouldn't
you
know
we
should
think
about
it
as
like
as
long
as
they
enjoy
it.
That's
all
that
matters
and
I
mean
that's
kind
of
how
I
watch
it
and
I
watch
as
a
far
far
back
spectator,
because
my
daughter
doesn't
like
me
to
be
all
up
in
the
mix.
C
So
I
I
have
to
respect
that
and
silently
send
stuff
to
the
school,
but
I
I
really
appreciate
and
I
know
our
board.
Does
that
you've
also
been
having
the
parent
informationals
I
missed
the
one
at
glenel.
Downs
didn't
even
know
what
was
happening
because
Marabella
as
I
was
going
into
the
High
School
Educational
night.
There
was
just
before
that
the
parent
education
participation
for
sports.
So
that's
that's
awesome
to
see
you
got
it
done
pretty
quickly
and
I
appreciate
we
sorry.
C
We
appreciate
everyone
making
that
happen
because
I
know
it
happened
pretty
quickly
between
soccer
and
now
basketball.
So
we
definitely
appreciate
it.
I'm
sure
our
parents
do
as
well.
I
was
trying
to
kill
some
time
until
Alma
came
back
to
see
if
she
had
any
thing
that
she
wanted
to
add,
but
I'd
like
to
ask
our
parents,
sorry
our
Cartwright
Education
Association
representative,
if
they'd
like
to
add
anything
or
our
principal
and
our
parent.
C
Alma,
would
you
like
to
say
something
about
the
Cartwright
Athletics,
the
new
parent
education.
E
E
Yes,
I
would
like
to
say
something
it's
a
great
program
for
our
students
for
our
children,
because
it
keeps
them
involved
and
it
keeps
them
out
of
trouble
because
sometimes
they
have
nowhere
to
go
once
they
go
home
they're
in
front
of
the
TV.
You
know
some
parents
are
afraid
to
let
their
kids
outside
so
for
them
to
participate
in
this
in
these
programs.
E
E
C
M
B
Thank
you,
Ryan
just
I
know
it's.
We
kind
of
went
over
time
and
I
apologize,
but
I
definitely
want
to
celebrate.
Madam
president
members
of
the
governing
board
executive
team
principals
audience
those
watching
on
YouTube.
We
have
so
many
celebrations,
so
I'll
try
to
go
fast.
First
of
all,
thank
Cory
and
all
the
principals
for
the
principal
of
the
day.
Participation.
Thank
you
for
that.
That
was
fantastic.
B
B
And
also
governing
board
member
Lydia
Hernandez
for
her
winning
for
House
of
refs
for
the
State
of
Arizona.
Congratulations.
B
Now,
when
everybody
call
me
I
can
say
I
to
talk
to
my
state,
my
rap
history
right
now,
I'm
going
to
be
calling
you
they
ask
a
lot.
The
other
thing
I
wanted
to
do
is
I
also
wanted
to
congratulate
Dr,
Eva
Diaz
she's,
a
Harris
teacher,
and
she
won
State,
Senate
c
as
a
write-in
candidate.
So
congratulations
to
Eva,
Divas
I
spoke
to
Dr
Eva
this
afternoon
and
she
is
so
excited
and
we're
going
to
talk
to
principal
Ally
and
I
and
and
Jeff
we're
going
to
be
talking
about
the
transition.
B
B
B
B
We
want
you
to
know
that
we
don't
take
those
things
for
granted
and
we're
going
to
come
to
work
and
we're
going
to
do
everything
we
can
to
support
you
and
our
families
our
Scholars,
to
make
this
District.
As
you
said,
the
when
they
say
Scottsdale
they're
going
to
be
looking
at
Cartwright.
That
is
I.
B
Do
say
that
so
here
we
go
also
P.I
said:
I
want
to
celebrate
PSI
giving
day
it's
an
organization
that
brings
together
local
programs
and
organizations
and
cities
across
the
country
to
support
students
and
families
in
the
community.
Our
very
own
Palm
Lane,
was
recently
selected
as
a
recipient
of
the
PSI
Phoenix
giving
day
on
December
10th
Palm
line
school
will
have
a
special
day
with
with
crafts
gift
cards
and
a
visit
with
Santa
Claus.
B
You
know
how
busy
Santa
is
and
Santa's
gonna
be
coming
and
they're
also
going
to
be
bringing
food.
We're
very
thankful
for
this
partnership
and
thank
you
so
much
Palm
Lane
for
making
this
happen.
B
Palm
Lane
also
was
one
of
the
four
schools
selected
for
the
ASU
Gammage
Disney
musicals
in
schools,
and
will
work
directly
with
artists
from
ASU
to
put
on
a
30-minute
production
of
the
Jungle
Book,
which
will
include
50
Scholars
within
third
through
sixth
grade.
There
will
be
a
few
Productions
at
the
school
site
and
at
the
end
of
April,
with
a
culminating
show
on
May
2nd,
where
Scholars
will
actually
perform
at
ASU,
Gammage
yay.
B
So
also
our
amazing
School
District
wanted
to
share
with
you
that,
as
you
know,
over
the
course
of
the
last
year
we've
had
donors
choose
well.
Our
teachers
and
District
staff
are
so
amazing
this
month
alone,
because
you
know
I
bring
the
donors
to
those
donations.
Our
teachers
and
staff
have
received
52
000
in
donations
just
since
the
last
October
10th
meeting,
so
that's
from
October
10th
through
November
7th.
So
this
is
amazing.
Thank
you,
district
teachers
and
principals.
This
is
huge
52
000
in
one
month.
That's
amazing
in
our
classroom
benefiting
our
Scholars.
B
Congratulations
to
Estrella
Middle
School
PE
teacher
Angie
nedberg,
who
will
be
inducted
to
the
athletic
Hall
of
Fame
at
Williston
State
College
Miss
nedberg
played
college
basketball
in
the
early
90s
there,
while
playing
at
WSC
Angie
led
the
team
to
the
Nationals
in
Tyler
Texas
broke
the
school
record
received
an
honorable
mention
All-American
award
and
an
American
All-American
award.
So
congratulations.
B
Also
at
Estrella
Middle
School,
it
was
such
an
honor.
Yesterday
we
actually
had
the
opportunity
a
couple
classes
at
Estrella,
Administration
teachers,
Victor,
Hugo
and
I-
were
watching
virtually
Supreme
Court
justice
so
to
Mayor
addressed
hundreds
of
middle
schoolers
across
the
street,
our
state.
It
was
pretty
amazing
and
even
as
she
was
speaking
to
the
scholars,
someone
even
my
age
was
just
extremely
inspired
and
I
know
Victor
Hugo's
going
to
do
a
little
article
to
share
either
at
the
spotlight
or
an
upcoming
news
news
communication.
B
It's
my
understanding
that
Marisol
Garcia,
the
president
of
AAA
who's,
the
one
that
brought
this
opportunity
to
all
of
the
teachers
and
Scholars
in
our
state,
so
I
just
want
to
publicly
say
thank
you
to
her
I
think
it
was
just
an
amazing
experience.
So
thank
you
more
good
news
from
Estrella
Estrella
Middle
School
Morgan
chaseon,
our
instrumental
music
teacher
submitted
Scholars
to
be
part,
our
musical
Scholars
to
be
part
of
the
greater
Phoenix
band.
B
Nine
of
our
musicians
were
selected
and
some
were
chosen
even
to
be
first
chair,
and
this
is
in
middle
school
with
high
schoolers.
The
greater
Phoenix
band
event
will
take
place
in
January,
so
congratulations
to
Alejandro
Damien.
First

B
And
finally,
I'd
like
to
say:
congratulations
to
everyone,
our
staff,
our
parents,
our
teachers,
every
single
employee,
every
principal,
every
Department,
every
family,
member,
every
scholar
on
our
letter
grades.
I
know
we
want
to
be
all
A's
but
we'll
get
there
and
working
together.
You
all
make
a
difference.
So
thank
you
and
that
concludes
my
update.
B
B
B
This
is
what
happened
when
I
don't
have
it
in
the
same
place
and
Desert
Sands
girls
soccer
won
second
place
in
the
5A
division.
So
congratulations.

pretty
magnificent

Don't
think
that
you
could
miss
it
when
you
walked
into
the
boardroom,
it's
very
bright
and
vibrant.

all
about

about

Scholars
started
by
sketching
a

patterns,
details
and
features
were
emphasized
and
constructed
their
sculptures
using
cardboard
and
glue.
Scholars
then
painted
features,
details
and
patterns
using
three
hues.
C
They
are,
of
course,
incredible,
and
it
was
great
to
take
a
few
minutes
to
look
at
all
of
the
sculptures
that
they
created
and
it's
a
beautiful
display.
Thank
you.
Our

last
but
not
least,

here.

to

them
here
in

They
want
to
be

in
helping
them
to

for
those,

those
are
not
going

be
getting
rolled

anymore,
so
just
helping
to
be
proactive,
educating
our
families
and
parents
about
those
processes
so
that
they
can
maintain
those
benefits
and
continue
to
receive
what
is
needed
and

connect
being

they
will
distribute
gifts
and
for
school-aged
children
also
provide
food
and
entertainment
for
the
whole
family.
AE
In
closing,
we
want
to
thank
Our
Community
Partners
for
supporting
our
families
during
the
holiday
season.
I
want
to
share
that
some
of
these
events,
where
we
were
working
with
schools
to
choose
families
and
some
events
are
open
to
all
families
in
Maryville,
we're
ensuring
that
our
families
receive
communication
and
are
supported
to
partake
in
these
wonderful
events,
so
we're
very
excited.
Thank
you.
C
AD
President
members
of
the
board,
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler,
executive
team
members
and
all
those
in
attendance
and
viewing
online,
we
are
excited
to
announce
that
we
do
have
our
Cartwright
5K
Fun
Run
and
walk
scheduled
for
Saturday
December
3rd.
So
it's
right
around
the
corner
and
the
event
will
begin
at
eight
o'clock
a.m
and
our
starting
and
finish
line
will
be
right
in
between
the
materials,
Center
and
community
garden,
the
little
roadway
coming
in
there.
AD
So
we're
we
have
a
great
team,
that's
busy
at
work,
making
sure
that
all
Logistics
in
play
are
in
place
for
a
very
fun
and
outstanding
event,
so
just
getting
all
the
water
and
snacks
and
t-shirts,
and
so
it's
just
been
a
very
great
collaborative
effort
and
we're
getting
everything
lined
up
and
excited
to
see
everyone
here.
At
the
event,
our
teachers
administrator
staff
families.
We
look
forward
to
to
a
really
outstanding
event.
C
You
want
to
go
all
out
and
run
go
ahead,
we'll
watch
you
from
the
sidelines
for
sure
yeah
and
hopefully
awesome
obviously
exciting
news.
C
We
all
know
the
pandemic,
put
a
halt
to
our
5K
Fun
Run
that
we
were
just
about
to
have
so
miss
Alma.
Hopefully,
you'll
help
us
spread
the
word
with
all
of
our
parents
and
we'll
see
you
in
your
Scholars
there,
because
it
will
be
an
amazing
time,
quick
question:
how
much
is
the
Fun
Run.
AD
C
It's
a
hundred
percent
free
yay
yay
excited
any
questions
from
the
board.
Hope
to
see
you
all
there
with
our
members.
Only
jackets
I'm
excited
we'll
get
to
see
our
Scholars
and
I
believe
there's
a
little
bit
of
competition
between
the
schools
to
see
how
who
can
get
the
most
of
their
Scholars
to
the
5K,
Fun
Run
so
and
families.
Of
course,
Scholars
aren't
coming
alone,
the
families
and
the
staff
and
all
of
our
Cartwright
Familia
it'll,
be
awesome,
super
excited
about
it.
C
B
Do
want
to
say
if
you
can
give
a
little
words
about
the
City
of
Phoenix
and
the
how
they're
going
to
close
the
streets
for
us
and
how
safety,
and
just
so
everybody
knows
that
they're
actually
sure.
AD
AD
So
the
process
it
involves
is
getting
approval
getting
a
permit
from
the
city
of
Phoenix.
Luckily,
Mr
Mata
the
work
he
has
done
in
the
past.
He's
already
had
a
great
blueprint
laid
out
for
us,
so
it
made
it.
It
made
it
a
it's,
not
an
easy
process,
but
it
made
it
easier
that
he
had
done
a
lot
of
this
leg
work
in
the
past
him
and
the
past
team
that
organized
this.
AD
So
the
City
of
Phoenix
did
approve
our
route
to
begin
at
the
point
that
I
had
mentioned
and
we'll
we'll
go
around
back
behind
the
Tarver
and
Atkinson
playground
across
Glenrosa
and
then
all
around
the
Greenbelt
on
55th
Avenue,
between
Indian,
School
and
Camelback.
The
City
of
Phoenix
will
dedicate
15
officers
to
be
there
to
help
just
monitor
for
safety
throughout
the
event.
AD
For
of
them
will
be
on
motorcycles
just
to
assist
residents
that
that
need
to
get
out
of
their
their
homes
that
are
parked
along
there,
just
to
make
sure
that
everybody
is
kept
safe,
but
they
have
mapped
out
a
route.
They
approve
the
route
that
we
had
proposed.
We
have
a
barricade
company
coming
out
on
Monday
to
meet
with
Alex
and
myself
and
one
of
the
city
officials
just
so
that
they
can
give
their
final
sign
off
to
to
the
route
itself
and
then
from
there.
AD
C
Yes,
thank
you.
Dr
Medrano
and
thank
you.
Mr
Mata
I
do
remember
the
earlier
conversations
and
that
you
had
to
go
out
and
talk
to
all
of
the
homeowners
and
apartment
complexes
and
shout
out
to
Valeria,
because
I
recall
she
made
a
bumper
sticker.
That
was
incredible,
but
we
weren't
able
to
use
it
due
to
the
cancellation,
but
I
do
want
to
applaud
her
efforts
and
everyone
that
was
on
that
initial
team
and
on
the
team
now
working
on
our
5K,
and
it
will
happen.
So.
Thank
you.
AD
Y
Thank
you,
Dr
Aguilar
Lawler
governing
board
president
members
of
the
board.
There's
a
reason.
The
deputy
superintendent
of
HR
is
being
asked
to
speak
to
this
item
and
that's
because
we're
really
seeing
it
as
a
recruitment
and
in
retention
effort
for
our
employees.
So
allow
me
just
a
few
minutes
to
explain
a
little
bit
more.
Y
You
may
have
seen
there
was
some
recent
publicity
just
this
week
on
I
think
a
couple
of
different
local
news
channels
with
Liberty
School
District,
going
to
a
four-day
school
week
and
a
four
day
work
week
for
their
employees,
and
you
know
their
driving
force
was
the
the
Recruitment
and
Retention
in
this
era
of
significant
shortages
of
employees,
including
teachers,
and
we
spoke
about
that
at
the
strategic
planning
session
just
last
week
or
the
week
prior
lose
track
of
time.
So
that
really
is
the
driving
force.
Y
This
really
isn't
and
hasn't
been
any
dialogue,
thus
far
about
cost-saving
measures.
That's
that's
not
why
we're
in
this?
The
heavy
lift
has
already
been
done
in
this
decision,
and
that
was
moving
to
a
four-day
scholar
week.
So
this
year
we're
on
a
four-day
scholar
week,
those
Logistics
you
know
were
figured
out
on
how
to
do
instructional
time
how
to
do
instructional
delivery
on
a
four-day
model
rather
than
a
five-day
model,
so
we're
already
there
that
ship
has
sailed.
Y
Y
So
tonight
is
just
to
introduce
that
to
you
all,
as
as
information
that
that
we're
moving
in
that
direction,
we're
still
involved
in
getting
additional
feedback.
We
started
with
getting
feedback
initially,
first
and
foremost,
from
our
principles,
because
we
know
so
much
happens
at
the
school
sites.
That's
what
we're
in
the
business
of
doing
so.
We
wanted
to
make
sure
the
principals
were
on
board
with
this
move
forward.
Y
Next
year
of
having
a
three-day
weekend
and
a
four
day
work
week,
not
here
tonight
to
present
all
of
the
logistics
as
to
how
that's
going
to
happen
which
classifications
of
employees
are
going
to
work,
which
days
those
kinds
of
things,
there'll
be
more
to
come
on
that.
Obviously,
as
we
go
through
the
planning
stages
to
get
there,
which
is
why
we,
we
are
suggesting
to
do
this
transition
into
next
school
year.
Y
But
we
do
want
to
start
making
it
public
and
use
it
as
a
marketing
tool,
a
recruiting
tool
in
the
coming
weeks
and
months
as
we
get
into
that
season
of
retaining
our
current
employees
through
contract
issuance
and
recruiting
new
employees
to
come
here.
So
I
personally
think
it's
real,
exciting
news
that
we're
going
to
do
this,
we're
getting
a
lot
of
positive
feedback
from
all
of
our
employee
groups.
Y
That
generally,
this
is
going
to
be
a
very
welcomed,
change
Initiative
for
our
employees
to
move
to
this
model.
So
we
just
wanted
to
present
some
information
on
that
tonight,
because
you
will
soon
be
hearing
some
of
our
marketing
strategies
and
seeing
some
of
our
recruitment
efforts
with
some
Communications
that
were
headed
in
that
direction.
C
B
Thank
you
board,
president
members
of
the
governing
board
executive
team
audience
our
honored
guests
at
the
last
governing
board
meeting.
The
board
asked
this
item
to
be
placed
on
the
agenda.
We
just
wanted
to
let
you
know
that
we're
still
working
on
it
and
we
will
be
bringing
it
back
if
all
goes
well
to
the
December
governing
board
meeting,
and
that's
really
what
I
wanted
to
share.
They
didn't
forget
it.
We
just
don't
have
enough
information
to
to
move
forward
with
this.
Thank
you.
Y
Y
Y
We
we
were
awarded
three
filling
stations,
water
bottle,
filling
stations,
so
we'll
be
installing
those
soon.
We
hope
to
continue
a
partnership
to
perhaps
get
some
more
and
the
request,
along
with
that
Grant
when
we
were
awarded
the
grant,
was
that
we
make
sure
that
we
have
some
policy
or
procedures
in
place
to
promote
the
wellness
of
students
and
how
that
relates
to
water,
consumption
and
hydration.
Y
So
this
just
we
already
have
a
student
wellness
policy
with
a
couple
of
regulations
attached
to
it
that
talk
about
nutrition
and
recreational
play
time
and
those
kinds
of
physical
activity
things.
We
all
know
the
advantages
of
additional
water,
consumption
and
hydration
and
how
it's
so
important,
especially
here
in
the
desert,
so
really
this
regulation
change
just
adds
some
new
language
that
we're
going
to
try
to
adhere
to
some
procedures,
to
add
additional
access,
accessibility
and
number
of
water
bottle
filling
stations
so
that
our
our
kids
have
access
to
sanitary
and
and
filtered
water.
Y
So
not
to
read
that
to
you,
but
it's
essentially
saying
you
know
we're
gonna
we're
gonna
make
an
effort
to
try
to
strive
to
have
so
many
water
filling
stations
per
student
at
each
campus.
We're
going
to
have
water
filling
stations
located
at
critical
areas
like
near
the
cafeteria
sites
at
outdoor
play
areas
where
there's
a
lot
of
physical
activity,
those
kinds
of
things.
So
essentially
it's
that
kind
of
language.
That's
added
into
the
regulation.
