A
A
B
Yes
well,
my
name
is
AP
Durand
I'm,
the
the
dorenstein
of
the
College
of
humanities,
here
at
the
University
of
Arizona
and
I'm,
currently
from
Marseille
in
France.
A
Well,
welcome
to
the
desert
and
thank
you
for
joining
us.
So
what's
going
on
with
the
College
of
humanities,
here
in
Chandler,
what's
U
of
A
looking
to
do.
B
Yeah
well,
we
are
very
excited
about
this
opportunity
to
to
be
in
Chandler
in
the
new
beautiful
facility
of
the
the
city
of
Chandler,
and
our
main
involvement
and
interest
with
expanding
to
schendler
and
area
is
through
our
bachelor
in
interdisciplinary
studies
that
we
offer
through
the
Chandler
or
campus
for
students,
and
this
is
really
a
program
that
matches
perfectly
the
needs
of
today's
Workforce
and,
more
specifically,
the
essential
skills
that
you
know.
B
Most
employers
are
looking
for
in
the
workforce
and
the
interdisciplinary
studies,
a
program
that
we
offer
certainly
provide
those
chaos,
things
like
critical
thinking,
adaptability,
communication
skills,
Intercultural
competence,
empathy
and
many
of
those
other
skills
that
are
in
demand
today
on
the
market.
A
Yeah,
what
we're
hearing
a
lot
from
our
employers
about
not
only
the
hard
skills
but
the
soft
skills
necessary
to
make
a
well-rounded
business,
so
the
interdisciplinary
studies
degrees
really
touches
upon
the
needs.
We're
hearing
from
those
businesses
from
the
students
perspective.
What
type
of
classes
can
they
anticipate
enrolling?
It.
B
Yes,
so
for
the
we
have
a,
we
have
several
tracks
that
are
provided
within
the
within
the
The
Bachelor
in
interdisciplinary
studies
or
more
specifically,
they
are
called
emphasis.
So
the
students
choose
one
of
the
five
emphasis.
There
is
also
an
internship
that
they
can
complete.
So
the
the
emphasis
are
social,
behavior
and
human
understanding,
or
they
can
focus
on
economy
and
Industry.
B
It
can
also
focus
on
science,
technology,
health
and
Society,
Global
and
Intercultural
understanding,
and
the
last
emphasis
that
we
offer
through
this
program
is
arts,
media
and
entertainment.
Oh.
B
Absolutely
and
we
also
offer
them
in
terms
of
access.
We
also
also
offer
these
this
curriculum
in
values
modalities,
so
students
can
take
a
mix
of
courses
in
person,
but
also
online
hybrid.
So
there
are
a
lot
of
different
opportunities
that
can
accommodate
their
schedules
and
occupations.
A
So
it
if
you're
gonna
break
out
your
crystal
ball
and
look
into
the
future.
How
does
the
College
of
humanities
scale
in
the
future
here
in
Chandler?
What
do
you
see
as
the
next
steps
for
the
the
degree
program.
B
Yeah,
well,
we
think
that
you
know
our
objective
is
to
really
expand
in
the
region
of
of
Chandler
and
to
really
make
a
a
mark
over
there
with
more
more
students
and
for
them
to
have
more
flexibility
to
be
able
to
have
a
University
of
Arizona
College
of
humanities,
Education
Without
necessarily
having
to
come
the
whole
way
to
to
Tucson.
B
And
so,
as
we
move
forward,
we
really
see
the
the
beautiful
Campus
of
Schindler
as
an
opportunity
not
only
to
develop
more
connections
with
students
from
the
area,
but
also
with
companies
and
organizations
that
are
in
Chandler
and
in
the
area
type
of
relationship
that
could
benefit
our
students
in
terms
of
more
internships,
for
instance,
also
to
to
really
focus
on
one
of
those
things
that
our
college
is
is
really
working
hard
on
and
that
we
were
talking
about
a
little
a
bit
earlier.
B
Is
this
idea
that
you
know
the
humanities
and
the
skills
that
we
teach
in
the
humanities
and
through
the
interdisciplinary
studies
program,
are
really
valuable
to
all
Industries,
regardless
the
type
of
products
or
or
institutions
that
are
out
there?
They
will
get
a
well-rounded
trained
students
throughout
the
the
degree
that
we
offer.
So
we
we
see
it
as
an
expansion
and
also
as
a
way
to
increase
our
reputation
in
the
in
in
Arizona
as
well.
B
So
we
have
a
website,
they
can
easily
go
to
the
College
of
humanities
website,
which
is
a
Humanities
dot,
arizona.edu
or
specifically,
the
interdisciplinary
studies
program
website,
which
is
ids.arizona.edu.
