Description
Council Meeting 10/27/22
B
C
C
C
D
Michaela
welcome
to
the
city.
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
So,
the
more
a
little
more
detail,
what
kind
of
employment
record
is
going
to
be
a
business
park
could
be
a
mixed
mixed
part.
What
what
exactly
revisioning
here?
The.
C
D
Go
back
to
that
map,
but
I
hear
you.
This
is
that
whole
development.
This
is
just
being
added
to
the
existing
piece.
That's
there
that
is,
okay,
got
it
and
okay,
so,
okay,
so
can,
when
you
get
a
chance,
I'd
like
to
have
a
little
more
detail
on,
what's
really
happening.
D
A
C
A
Next
on,
our
agenda
is
item
number
56
and
I
did
receive
a
couple
speaker
cards
on
this,
but
because
of
the
the
direction
we're
going
to
go
tonight
in
terms
of
continuing
this
to
a
future,
we're
going
to
give
you
the
opportunity
at
a
future
council
meeting
when
we
actually
deliberate
this
and-
and
this
has
a
chance
to
actually
get
out
into
the
community
at
that
point,
it
would
be
more
appropriate
to
speak.
A
So
we
will
be
deferring
I
only
have
a
few
but
speaker
cards
at
that
point
until
we
actually
have
this
under
discussion
and
deliberation
by
Council.
So
item
number
56,
council,
member,
Harris,
yeah.
G
Thank
you,
Marin.
Thank
you
to
everyone
that
came
out
for
this
particular
item,
as
you
guys
know
that
this
has
been
something
that
we,
as
a
community,
have
worked
on
this
week.
Council
many
of
you
guys
may
have
received
packets,
showing
what
the
drafts
would
have
been
and
showing
many
of
the
presentation
Council
just
received
this
these
drafts
this
week.
G
G
A
This
Council
fully
intends
to
bring
this
forward
and
to
a
vote
from
here
and
but
actually
this
week
was
yesterday
and
I
I
certainly
didn't
have
enough
time,
and
neither
any
of
us
to
be
able
to
look
at
this
and
move,
but
I
look
forward
to
it
and
I
look
forward
to
having
a
robust
and
awesome
conversation
with
my
fellow
council
members.
Any
other
comments
before
we
vote
on
this.
A
H
Thank
you.
I
would
like
to
commend
those
who
have
come
because
of
this
particular
item
tonight.
I
will
implore
you
to
continue
to
get
involved,
not
only
when
it's
time
for
such
a
a
thing
to
come
and
add
your
voice,
but
to
stay
engaged
in
the
community
to
see
things
we
have
in
HRC
community.
That
is
together.
H
That
is
looking
for
volunteers,
they're
looking
for
people
continually
to
be
part
of
what's
Happening
Here
in
the
city
and
so
again,
I'm
so
glad
you're
here
tonight,
but
it's
not
only
tonight
that
you
need
to
be
here.
We
need
you
to
be
here
constantly
to
continue
to
guide
and
to
continue
to
help
and
uphold
the
future
of
Chandler.
Thank
you.
Thank
you,
mayor.
A
All
right,
thank
you.
Council
next,
on
our
agenda
are
some
unscheduled
public
appearances
and
I've
got
a
few
General
and
then
I
would
like
to
I've
got
three
in
general,
then
I
have
several
related
to
The
Landings
project
and
I
would
like
to
address
that
at
the
end,
with
some
comments
and
see
if
we
can
precise
that
process,
but
first
I've
got
a
speaker
card
related
to
the
I'm
just
taking
these
in
the
order
that
they
were
handed
to
me
related
to
the
Chandler
Airport
by
Richard
Mason,
so
Richard.
A
If
you
would
like
to
speak,
please
come
up
to
the
the
podium
anything
that
is
unscheduled
because
of
open
meeting
laws.
We
are
not
open
to
have
a
conversation
with
you,
but
if
there
are
actions
that
Council
would
like
to
address
staff
to
look
at
these,
we
certainly
can,
but
we
will
not
be
engaging
with
you
or
answering
any
questions
that
you
might
have
to
us.
A
J
For
us,
my
name
is
Richard
Mason
I
am
a
resident
of
Chandler
at
517
East
Meade
place
first
before
I
go
into
the
airport.
I
want
to
thank
the
council,
people
who
came
out
to
the
basketball
court
in
Pine
Lakes
last
week
to
listen
to
the
residents
about
The
Landings
that
was
very
nice
to
fight
off
the
bugs
and
listen
to
us.
We
appreciate
that.
Thank
you
so
much.
A
J
J
J
There's
not
a
parking
problem
as
much
as
a
mismanagement
of
the
parking
problem,
there's
empty
spaces
and
I
have
access
to
like
high
resolution
satellite
and
I
go
back
month
by
month.
There
are
spots
there
that
I
haven't
seen
a
plane
in
in
years,
but
yet
that
spot
is
for
somebody
who's
making
their
payment
every
month,
whether
they
use
it
or
not.
There
are
people
who
live
out
of
state
and
maybe
come
for
a
couple
of
months
in
the
summer
or
in
the
in
the
winter,
and
they
get
a
spot
all
year
long.
J
Chandler
residents
should
get
some
sort
of
priority
for
parking
spaces
and
hanger
spaces
over
somebody
who
lives
in
Nebraska
and
comes
here
twice
a
year
and
uses
it
for
a
month.
Also,
there
are
a
number
of
planes
that
have
been
there
for
years
and
have
not
moved
and
I
know
Chandler's
trying
to
make
this.
The
premier
airport
for
the
Southeast,
Valley
and
I
applaud
that,
but
who
wants
to
fly
their
corporate
jet
in
and
see
This
Plane.
J
It
looks
like
a
junkyard
and
I
only
took
pictures
of
about
maybe
a
a
half
a
dozen
planes
that
are
in
multiple
states
of
disrepair
that
have
sat
there
for
years
and
nothing
is
happening
with.
Those
part
of
the
problem
is
the
city.
The
I
spoke
to
the
operations
manager
there
he's
his
hands
are
tied.
If
somebody
pays
their
rent
and
they
don't
break
the
rules,
he
cannot
evict
them,
even
if
they
don't
go
in
that
spot
for
two
years
they
pay
their
rent
can
a
victim.
J
There
needs
to
be
something
where
the
city
council
sets
a
rule
where
you
have.
Maybe
Chandler
residents
get
a
a
bump
to
the
front
of
the
line,
and
also
if
planes
are
in
states
of
disrepair,
maybe
there
has
to
be
a
certain
amount
of
time.
Those
need
to
be
removed.
Thank
you,
and
if
you
want
these
pictures,
I'm
happy
to
provide
them
there
are
are
probably
thank
you,
sir
50
spots
that
are
are
not
being
used
regularly.
Thank.
A
D
Mayor
council,
member
Orlando
yeah
just
to
piggyback
on
that
it's
a
valid
point,
I've
been
out
there
many
times
in
regards
to
airplanes.
That
should
not
be
there.
We
have,
you
know,
rules
against
properties,
maintaining
something
should
be
done
to
as
well.
For
this
to
maintain
their
property
out.
There
he's
absolutely
right,
you
probably
couldn't
start
those
airplanes.
If
you
wanted
to
so
yeah,
maybe
there's
something
we
can
do
for
maintenance
or
property
to
maintain
property.
That's
not
usable!
Okay!
We.
A
Thank
you.
Our
next
speaker
card
is
by
someone
familiar
to
each
of
us
Victor
Hardy
speaking
on
Chandler
men
of
action,
Pastor
Hardy.
A
A
A
M
A
M
I'm
here
today,
on
behalf
of
chairman
of
action,
we
have
been
with
the
city
for
the
past
12
years.
12
years
ago,
retired
officer,
David,
Woodson,
Woodard,
coach,
Stephen,
Carson
and
myself
met
at
the
above
address
to
talk
about
a
banquet
for
African
Americans.
M
My
main
purpose
is
to
make
sure
and
to
remind
you
of
the
Dr
Martin
Luther
King
Jr
Candlelight,
vigil
on
January
15th
at
the
Congregational
Church
of
the
Valley
at
6
PM,
it's
a
free
event
and
we'll
have
one
of
our
speakers
will
be
councilmember
Harris.
We
will
have
snacks
and
the
one
time
year
that
we
will
March
will
be
that
night
night
and
also
on
February
24th
at
the
Chandler-Gilbert
Community
College.
We
have
our
African-American
banquet
at
6
PM.
Also,
that
is
not
a
free
event.
M
Forty
dollars
a
seat,
250
a
table
of
eight.
We
thank
all
of
you.
This
year,
our
man
of
the
year
will
be
Michael,
Franklin,
Chandler,
high
school
principal,
we'll
also
have
a
for
the
first
time
a.
A
N
N
A
N
In
the
city
of
Chandler
I'm,
here
tonight,
risking
my
medical
privacy,
what
little
I
have
left
of
it
to
share
with
you?
The
fact
that
I
am
disabled,
I
submitted
a
request
for
disability
related
barrier
removal,
because
one
of
the
Chandler
city
codes
is
a
barrier
to
me
living
my
life.
That
code
is
Municipal,
Code
12-4.6.
It
refers
to
residential
parking
on
the
street
of
recreational
vehicles,
specifically
that
states
a
person
may
Park
such
a
vehicle
for
the
purpose
of
loading
and
unloading
and
not
for
more
than
48
hours.
N
The
48
hours
is
a
barrier
because
of
that
because
of
my
disability,
I
cannot
get
the
job
done
in
48
hours
because
we
are
not
allowed
to
keep
our
RVs
at
our
homes.
My
RV
is
in
storage,
and
so
every
time
I
want
to
use
it.
It
has
to
come
home
and
be
parked
on
the
public
Street
in
front
of
my
home
for
loading
and
unloading,
because
I
am
disabled.
It
takes
me
longer
to
load
and
unload
than
someone
who
is
not
disabled.
N
The
disability
related
request
for
barrier
removal
was
approved
on
January
13th
of
2022.
That
approval
did
include
an
expiration
date.
There
is
no
explanation
for
the
expiration
date
because
of
their
own
expiration
date
on
June,
on
July
6th
I
made
a
request
to
the
city
to
remove
the
expiration
date
and
allow
me
to
continue
to
have
the
modification
that
I'd
had
for
the
previous
six
months,
so
that
I
can
continue
to
live
my
life
in
the
way
that
I
see
fit
on
August
22nd
2022
that
reasonable
modification
was
denied.
N
The
reason
it
was
denied
was
stated.
It
appeared
that
a
modification
was
not
necessary,
despite
my
asking
for
the
modification
and
having
a
previous
modification
and
that
I
had
the
same
benefit
of
48
Hours
afforded
to
persons
without
a
disability
I
appealed
that
decision,
because
we
know
it's
reasonable
and
it's
possible
and
I'm
disabled,
because
I
had
the
modification,
nothing
has
changed.
On
my
end,
my
disability
is
permanent,
so
the
denial
made
no
sense
when
I
appealed
that
we
came
into
the
offices
of
the
city
of
Chandler.
N
Unfortunately,
during
that
meeting,
because
of
the
stress,
I
suffered
a
medical
condition
and
I
had
to
leave
and
I
did
not
get
all
of
my
questions
answered,
but
Mr
Crampton
did
send
me
a
letter
on
October
4th
stating
that,
based
on
all
the
information,
the
modification
was
denied,
because
that
was
denied.
N
I
asked
for
another
appeal
and
Mr
Bass
had
asked
if
I
wanted
to
come
in
and
meet
with
him,
which
I
denied,
because
I
was
not
going
to
subject
myself
to
having
another
attack,
but
that
modification
again
was
also
denied
for
the
third
time.
There
was
no
reason
given
for
that.
The
city
has
put
me
in
an
impossible
position
and
I
can't
change.
A
Again,
city
manager,
I'm,
not
sure
all
of
the
details
here,
but
you,
if
you
could
have
staff
update
us
with
things,
are
that
that
would
be
helpful,
certainly
mayor.
Thank
you
all
right.
Thank
you.
A
All
right,
I'm
going
to
assume
that
many
of
you
are
here
for
the
same
reason,
which
are
Ocotillo
Landings
and
just
to
further
see.
If
my
assumption
is
true,
if,
if
you
were
here,
would
you
please
raise
your
hand
if
that
is
your
purpose
in
here?
Okay,
thank
you,
I'm,
going
to
try
to
simplify
this.
If
you
are
in
favor
of
that
project
going
forth,
would
you
please
raise
your
hand?
Okay,
if
you
were
against
that
project,
please
raise
your
hand.
A
Okay,
I'm
doing
this,
for
several
reasons
is
I've
got
two
comment
cards
I
suspect
that
you
would
all
say
the
same
thing.
So
I
am
wondering
with
Council
noting
this
I
will
give
a
since
I
have
an
abundance
of
these
cards.
I'm
willing
to
give
you
a
minute
and
a
half
per
person
to
talk
I
suspect
based
upon
the
emails
that
we
have
received,
that
you
will
pretty
much
be
redundant
and
be
saying
the
same
thing.
We
note
your
presence
here
and
rather
than
have
10
people
say
the
same
thing.
A
It
would
be
helpful
to
we
acknowledge
your
presence.
We
acknowledge
your
concerns.
The
city
has
sent
a
letter
of
opposition
to
the
county.
I
have
sent
personally
a
letter
of
opposition
to
the
county
related
to
this
project.
Other
council
members
have
communicated
as
well.
So
apart
from
that,
this
is
not,
as
you
all
know,
and
this
is
not
our
vote.
This
is
not
our
project,
it
is
in
the
county.
We
cannot
engage
you
here.
A
If
you
have
questions
for
us,
so
I
would
like
to
read
the
two
speaker
cards
and
if
there
is
particularly
I,
see
Luanne
there
who's
been
a
person
Luanne
I
would
give
you
up
to
to.
If
you
would,
you
feel
comfortable
with
Luan
being
your
speaker
or
would
are
there
others
that
would
also
like
to
speak.
We.
A
A
This
one
is
by
Daniel
T
who
lives
in
Chandler
on
Blue
Ridgeway
Landings
on
Ocotillo,
when
they
go
negatively
affect
the
security
and
land
value
of
Chandler
homes.
I
strongly
object
to
build
it
in
our
neighborhood.
A
Second
speaker
card
is
from
a
j
yossi
I
apologize
for
potentially
butchering
your
name,
sir
Landings
project
on
the
northeast
corner
of
Arizona,
Northeast
and
Ocotillo
over
congestion
and
accident
increase,
violation
of
City
Zoning,
inappropriate
use
of
our
cap,
money
to
fund
police
and
fire
on
a
county,
Island,
okay,
those
are
the
cards
that
have
been
written.
A
I
will
call
the
folks
up
again
in
the
order
that
has
been
handed
to
me
and
well,
I,
initially
said
a
minute
and
a
half.
So
let
me
do
that.
Please,
I,
don't
want
to
I,
don't
want
to
decrease
that
or
feel
that
you've
not
had
a
chance
to
be
represented
here.
The
first
card
is
Mario
Almeida,
Mario,
again
Mario,
you
have
a
minute
and
a
half
if
we
can
set
it
for
that.
A
Please
state
your
name
and
address
for
the
record
and
again
to
all
of
you.
We
cannot
engage
you.
This
is
unscheduled
public
process.
Our
appearances
and
open
meeting
law
does
not
allow
us
to
engage
in
conversation,
state
your
name
and
address
and
go
forth.
Sir
yeah.
P
So
my
name
is
Andrew.
My
name
is
Marion
Melo
I
live
in
226
East
Stockwood
drive
here
in
Chandler
I've
been
arrested
and
a
homeowner
in
Chandler
for
10
years
and
I'm
just
gonna
start
reading,
because
I
wrote
it
down
and
I'm
just
here
to
add
my
voice
and
opposition
to
the
resoning
of
the
parcel
at
the
corner
of
Southern
Pacific
Railroad
Track
in
Ocotillo
Road,
the
proposed
resoning
to
high
density
housing
will
be
in
direct
conflict
to
the
Chandler
General
plan
for
this
area.
P
We
need
leadership
and
support
from
the
city
council
to
stop
personing
to
stop
this
restoning
effort
of
County
Land
I
support
I
support
the
Chandler
General
plan.
It
has
attracted
investment
in
jobs
to
this
area.
It
makes
a
great
place
to
live
and
raise
a
family.
The
proposed
developments
of
The
Landings
of
a
anakatio
will
append
or
has
already
been
put
in
motion
due
to
his
size.
It
will
have
unintended
impacts
on
the
surrounding
communities
in
parking
traffic
services
and
just
other
things
in
the
area
of
Chandler.
P
A
Q
Good
evening,
mayor
and
city
council,
I'm
Yuan
I
live
in
3230,
South
Waterfront
in
here
in
Chandler,
so
yes,
I'm
here
also
I'll,
post
The
Landings
on
artillo
Project
I
just
want
to
let
you
know
how
deeply
and
widely
this
project
is
being
opposed
by
all
of
us
in
the
surrounding
neighborhood.
So
we
have
collected
over
1600
signatures
on
our
petition,
opposing
the
project
and
I
leave
a
copy
to
our
clerk
already.
Q
So
meanwhile,
I
want
to
point
out
that
both
Jack
sellers,
the
County's
district,
one
supervisor
and
Daniel
Johnson
contest
planner-
have
mentioned
that.
It's
very
important
that
the
comments
from
the
city
of
Chandler
will
be
a
part
of
the
decision
making.
So
our
voices
is
very
important
and
matter
a
lot
and
you
are
the
broadcast
of
our
voices.
Q
So,
with
your
support,
we
have
a
better
chance
to
be
heard
and
taken
serious
see
by
the
county
and
we
still
have
about
five
weeks
to
influence
their
decision
and
we
look
forward
for
your
speaking
up
representation
on
December
8th
public
hearing
as
well.
So
we
need
you
to
protect
the
Integrity
of
our
Chandler
master
plan.
Q
So
please
keep
us
United,
take
us
through
this
battle,
because
we
cannot
afford
to
lose
it
so
protect
the
greatness
of
our
beautiful
city.
Thank
you.
Thank.
B
R
Good
evening
mayor
and
the
city
council
members,
my
name
is
Keith
Wong
I
live
at
562,
West
Zion
place
in
Portland
home,
so
I
have
lived
in
Cincinnati
for
over
10
years.
My
Tusa
has
go
to
the
public
school,
and
so
we
love
the
city.
R
We
enjoy
the
development
of
the
city
and
also
looking
forward
for
the
bright
future
I
work
for
Intel
as
well,
so
that
the
recent
development
for
the
landing
of
arcade
really
concerned
me
because
the
project
was
called
affordable,
housing,
but
I
wonder
if
the
city
can
afford
for
potential
disaster,
since
the
project
is
in
the
landing
path
of
the
airport
and
also
I
wonder
if
the
city
can
afford
overcrowding,
the
Hamilton
High
School,
which
is
already
4000
member
student
and
every
morning
when
I
send
my
kids
to
school.
R
It's
the
traffic
is
a
nightmare
and
also
I
heard
recently
the
in
the
in
the
last
year
or
so
the
the
cross
section
there.
The
the
traffic
accident
is
highest
in
the
city.
I.
Also
wonder
if
the
city
kind
of
afford
to
break
this
master
plan
and
to
yeah
to
stop
the
cities
growth
and
to
really
reduce
the
quality
of
life
of
the
city,
so
the
there
definitely
is
other
concerns,
and
so
I
I
also
think
this
the
line
the
line
is
not
owned
by
the
city
but
by
the
county.
R
But,
however,
after
the
project
finished,
they
plan
to
be
unexpected
using
the
city
resource
give
the
city
can
afford
that.
So
with
that,
so
I
strongly
opposed
this
project.
Thank
you.
O
Good
evening
mayor
the
member
of
the
city
council,
my
name
is
Lisa
Richie
I'm,
a
homeowner
in
Chandler
and
I've
been
working
Chandler
for
16
years.
Most
importantly,
I
care.
So
much
about
the
beautiful
city
of
Chandler
I'm.
Here.
First
of
all,
I
want
to
thank
you
for
giving
us
the
opportunity
to
express
our
strong
opposition
of
The
Landings
on
our
teal
project,
so
I've
been
doing
real
estate
on
channel
for
over
10
years.
As
we
all
know,
the
traffic
at
the
intersection
of
Arizona,
Avenue
and
active
has
been
pretty
bad.
O
Cole
mentioned.
There's
some
accidents
over
there
I'm
doing
real
estate
I'm
driving
around
a
lot
right,
so
adding
another
2
000
residents
to
the
area
can
only
make
it
worse
and
based
on
our
research.
The
developer
dominim
is
entangled
in
many
lawsuits.
They
forced
the
Section
8
tenants
to
live
in
uninhabitable
units,
so
their
Mass
saying
is
21
dividing
unit
per
acre,
but
we
did
a
math
indicates
actually
24
units
per
acre.
Don't
let
Dominion
for
us.
O
You
know
I
think
they
just
want
to
build
a
high
density
apartments
and
use
the
slogan
of
affordable
housing
to
make
a
profit,
we're
not
against
affordable
housing.
But
we
believe
the
ultimate
solution
to
affordable
housing
is
to
track
investment
and
increase
job
opportunities.
There's
so
many
good
local
developers
that
should
be
used
for
the
local
development
Thank.
O
E
My
name
is
luwan
address
is
1343
West,
Lee,
Drive,
so
I
think
a
lot
of
points
have
been
covered
for
this
project
and
I
just
want
to
add
my
voice
to
the
opposition
for
this
project.
One
point
I
want
to
stress
again
is
putting
two
thousand
plus
people
in
a
small
area
of
24
Acres
across
the
street,
from
a
very
popular
high
school
with
four
thousand
plus
students.
It's
there's
still
a
doubt.
E
This
is
inviting
a
chaotic
traffic
situation,
so
just
to
add
one
point
to
to
the
the
rest
of
the
speaker,
so
I
want
to
express
our
gratitude
to
our
mayor
and
the
city
council
members
for
your
opinion,
for
your
what
you
have
communicated
to
the
county
and
we
are
inviting
you
to
continue
to
stand
firm
with
us
against
this
project
and
we
lead
you
to
even
make
the
point
clear
is
to
reject
the
possibility
of
annexing
this
property.
E
So
I
think
that
will
help
us
to
make
a
clear
communication
to
the
supervisor
Jack
seller's
office.
As
what
you
have
mentioned,
they
made
the
comment
in
this
particular
case.
The
comment
from
Chandler
is
will
be
very
important
on
the
decision
making,
so
we
are
relying
on
your
clear
and
firm
position
with
us
against
this
project.
Thank
you
very
much.
K
K
I
know
that
it's
difficult
for
you
to
to
do
and
to
influence
the
county,
but
yet
it's
really
not,
and
the
one
thing
I'd
like
to
ask
and
I
know
that
they
said
a
lot
of
things
already,
but
each
of
you
to
individually
write
to
Daniel
Johnson
write
to
Jack
sellers.
Many
of
you
guys
have
worked
with
Jack
right
I
mean
he
was
on
the
council
right
to
him.
Tell
him
I
said
please
come
on
for
the
sake
of
Chandler.
Don't
do
this,
the
congestion
of
the
traffic,
the
air
traffic
I'm,
A,
Private
Pilot.
K
Nobody
wants
a
three-story
high
density
housing
and
the
Final
Approach
to
the
airport.
Did
you
guys
hear
about
the
accident
in
New
Hampshire
last
week,
seven
tenths
of
a
mile
pulling
went
down
right
next
to
multi-family
home
if
it
hit
the
parking
lot,
if
it
had
hit
the
building.
Just
think
what
that
would
have
been
like
it
happens,
I
mean
I'm,
not
going
to
say
it's
going
to
happen
here.
I,
don't,
but
just
you
know
things.
It
can
happen
same
thing
with
traffic
accidents,
Pine
Lake,
Wayne
Ocotillo.
K
We
have
217
homes
in
Pine
Lake
and
it's
tough
to
get
out
there.
Now
there's
more
housing
on
the
South
Side
they're
going
to
build
this
all
their
exits
going
to
be
to
Oak
a
deal.
This
is
518
homes.
It's
going
to
be
horrendous
there,
the
time
it's
going
to
take
to
get
through.
So
just
please
ask
every
one
of
you
to
write
individually
as
well
and
collectively
really
appreciate
your
support.
Thank
you,
sir.
Thank
you.
A
That
concludes
the
unscheduled
public
appearances.
Thank
you
all
for
coming.
Your
presence
is
certainly
noted
and
you're.
Your
voices
are
heard
by
this
Council
next
on
our
agenda.
Tonight
is
our
current
events
and
I
will
start
with
this.
A
This
past
weekend
was
for
our
city
day,
and
we
had
1
301
volunteers
who
worked
on
54
neighborhood
sites,
primarily
focusing
on
home,
exterior
painting,
yard
maintenance,
Rock
landscaping
and
cleanup
of
Alleyways.
The
volunteers
represented
many
organizations
throughout
Chandler,
including
Edwards
Home,
Depot,
Sherwin-Williams,
mate,
Waste,
Management,
Intel
SRP
and
many
more
I
want
to
thank
Council
Council
elect
our
many
of
Staff
persons
and
City
residents
that
came
and
helped
on
this
project.
It
was
a
great
project
and
I.
Thank
you
for
your
energy
and
efforts.
A
Secondly,
I
want
to
congratulate
Arizona's
Miss
Juneteenth.
We
heard
on
Monday
at
the
end
of
our
meeting
that
Chandra
Norman
placed
first
runner-up
in
this
year's
National
pageant
we're
very
proud
of
chandrea
and
she
represented
Chandler.
Well,
the
winner
was
Miss
South
Florida.
So
next
year
we
will
see
if
we
can
Elevate
from
first
runner-up
to
First.
A
Thank
you.
Thirdly,
I'd
like
to
say
happy.
Diwali
Diwali
is
an
important
cultural
event
that
celebrates
the
Triumph
of
light
over
Darkness
last
Saturday
was
October.
22Nd
was
the
city
of
Chandler's
diversity,
Diwali
Festival,
there
was
delicious
Indian
food,
music,
live
performances
and
even
some
elected
official
dancing.
A
We
are
so
fortunate
to
host
such
wonderful
cultural
events
right
here
in
our
city
and
Diwali
actually
started
on
Monday
and
continues
through
this
week.
So
happy,
Diwali
and
last
but
not
least,
for
me,
are
our
Chandler
Asian
festival.
Is
this
Saturday
we
had
so
many
of
our
Asian
friends
that
just
left
come
back.
A
It's
a
Saturday
on
October,
29th
and
30
from
noon
until
10
p.m.
At
Tumbleweed
Park,
it's
an
opportunity
to
celebrate
Asian
culture
and
Heritage
with
food
trucks,
vendors,
a
tea
garden,
Asian,
Villages,
lots
of
performances,
different
cultural
performances
and
tons
of
fun
activities.
Parking
is
free,
admission
is
free
and
those
are
the
announcements
that
I
have
council
member
Harris.
G
Thanks
mayor
I
think
that's
the
most
announcements
I
ever
heard
you
give
at
one
time,
I'm
winded,
all
right.
Let's
go
hey
so
wanted
to
announce.
Last
Saturday
Ready
set
go
Foundation
had
a
mental
health
walk.
We
had
over
600
people
that
show
up
for
the
walk.
It
was
amazing,
councilmember
elec,
as
soon
as
had
came
out
to
it
as
well
as
other
elected
officials,
Congressman
Greg
Stanton.
He
also
came
out
to
it,
but
it
was
a
great
time
it
actually
Dr
Frank
naraguchi.
He
also
superintendent
of
the
Chandler
Unified
School
District.
G
He
also
came
out
to
it
and
several
people
in
this
room
came
out
to
it,
but
it
was
an
amazing
walk
to
spread
awareness
to
mental
health
and
literally
I
want
to
thank
our
police
officers
because
they
made
sure
that
the
walk
was
really
safe
and
when
we
turned
the
corner
to
cross
over
Chandler
to
cross
over
Arizona
Avenue
by
Chandler
Boulevard,
it
literally
I
literally,
was
all
around
the
other
side.
Jack
In,
The
Box
and
the
and
people
were
still
crossing
the
intersection.
So
our
police
did
a
good
job.
G
The
partition
was
like
they
love
fist.
Bumping
the
police
and
having
a
good
time-
and
it
just
you
know,
that's
what
community
is
all
about
and
I
I
can't
say
enough
for
those
guys:
I
wanted
to
make
sure
that
we
give
them
special
accommodation,
because
that's
what
we
do
in
Chandler.
G
So
again,
if
you
missed
the
mental
health,
walk,
prepare
yourself,
we're
gonna,
look
to
plan
another
one
and
there
will
be
another
big
mental
health
day
that
we're
gonna
do
so
we'll
keep
you
guys
informed,
but
this
was
an
amazing
amazing
opportunity
and
the
weather
was
outstanding
with
that
being
said,
I
want
to
take
a
point
of
privilege,
my
wife
left,
but
she
was
here
so
you
know
I
wanted
to
make
sure
I
capture
that
you
know
so
she
gave
me
the
wink
and
I
gave
her
the
wink
back.
B
I
Councilmember
Lopez
I
am
the
one
sitting
next
to
him,
so
I,
just
first
of
all
again
for
the
few
that
remaining
around
ocotillo's
Landing
I
do
want
to
say
again.
Thank
you
for
coming
out
again,
we
do
listen
and
I
would
implore
you
to
speak
with
some
of
the
other
participants
that
you
had
here.
That
did
leave
a
little
early
that
and
to
yourselves.
Please
stay
engaged.
I
Yes,
this
is
directly
affecting
you
now,
but
there's
things
that
we
talk
about
here
upon
the
dice
that
affect
your
lives
every
day
so
coming
out
and
getting
involved
is,
is
always
a
good
thing,
certainly
on
an
announcement.
I
really
have
is
a
belated
birthday
to
my
fellow
midshipmen
out
there
from
October
13th
that
Happy
Navy
birthday
to
my
my
fellowshipmates
bubble,
heads.
F
Mayor,
thank
you,
mayor
yeah.
It
would
be
just
totally
inappropriate
to
not
recognize
everybody
that
is
here
tonight.
People
are
getting
involved
and
you
know
expressing
their
right
to
do
that.
F
Down
and
talking
to
us,
and
so
so
that
is
to
be
commended,
I
particularly
want
to
thank
our
staff
for
your
continued
tolerance
of
our
taking
up
your
time
and
keeping
you
here
late
night,
sometimes
and
on
weekends,
I'm
sure,
and
to
our
Public
Safety
folks.
Thank
you
for
working.
While
we
are
home
resting
24
hours
a
day,
seven
days
a
week
and
and
folks
be
safe.
That's
all
I
have
thank
you.
H
H
It's
having
open
the
court
for
people
to
come
out
on
Saturdays,
because
a
lot
of
people
are
working,
sometimes
they
aren't
able
to
get
to
court
for
services
and
they
decided
to
do
that
and
I
think
this
is
an
amazing
thing:
they're
also
partnering,
with
motor
vehicle.
Also.
H
So,
if
you
need
to
have
anything
done
in
your
car
or
you
want
to
get
your
title
done
or
any
of
those
things,
please
make
sure
that
you
come
it's
going
to
be
on
November
5th
and
the
hours
are
from
the
8
A.M
to
noon,
and
you
can
just
walk
in
and
get
services.
So
please
make
sure
you
do
that.
The
next
thing
that
I
have
to
talk
about
mayor
is
our
Channel
sister
city,
Tea
Party.
Oh,
the
Irish
tea
party
is
coming
up
again.
It's
going
to
be
hosting
by
the
it's
gone.
H
Actually,
it's
day,
10.
already
it's
10
annual,
it's
gonna
be
at
the
Southwest
Cottonwood
Tumbleweed
recreational
center
on
November
5th,
and
the
time
is
from
10
a.m,
to
12
30
p.m.
Reservation
is
required.
So
if
you
would
like
to
join,
please
go
on
their
website,
which
is
chandlerirish.org
and
then
go
ahead
and
reserve
your
spot
come
out
and
have
a
pot
of
tea
with
us.
We
will
really
appreciate
that.
Thank
you,
mayor.
That's
all
I
have
to
say.
A
All
right
city
managers,
as
we
neglected
to
mention
Spooktacular,
will
you
be
out
dressed
up
and
something
extraordinary
on
Friday
at
downtown
Chandler
between
5
30
and
8
30.
L
I
did
want
to,
however,
mayor
thank
you
mayor
and
Council.
Just
very
briefly,
you
already
mentioned
the
wonderful
success
that
was
for
our
city.
A
wonderful
event
wanted
to
particularly
thank
our
neighborhood
resources
department
for
all
their
work.
Leah
Powell
is
their
director
also
Priscilla
Quintana
was
our
lead
on
the
event
this
year
and
wanted
to
mention.
L
We've
been
very
much
encouraging
volunteers
among
our
staff,
129
volunteers
from
city
employees
came
out
on
their
own
time
to
volunteer
for
the
event
this
past
Saturday,
representing
14
different
departments
in
this
city,
so
very
much
something
that
we're
proud
to
support
as
well.
That's
all
I
have
tonight
mayor.
Thank
you.
