A
Or
I'm
going
to
give
you
a
couple
more
supports
for
implementation.
All
of
the
materials
and
supports
that
we
have
for
teachers
are
posted
on
the
teacher
portal.
A
We've
also
purchased
foundations,
which
is
the
phonics
program
that
you
heard
Shane
Henderson
reference
we've
purchased
hegarty,
which
is
the
panamic
awareness
program,
and
when
we
purchase
geodes,
which
do
the
decodable
text
for
K
in
first
grade,
we
have
also
purchased
those
same
materials
for
school
support
schools
for
their
second
grade
groups,
all
of
the
teachers
that
participate
in
letters
and
complete
it
will
get
CEUs
which
will
complete
their
five-year
cycle
for
CEUs.
And
finally,
we
have
lots
of
Foundations
PD
going
on,
which
is
for
the
phonics.
A
We
have
a
model
School
in
the
Virginia
cross
that
we're
working
on
building
with
them.
Kate
and
I
are
being
trained
as
certified
foundations
trainers,
so
that
we
can
help
continue
the
implementation
of
these
programs
in
the
school
in
the
years
to
come,
and
we
are
constantly
meeting
with
the
coaches
and
training
the
coaches
on
how
to
element
these
programs
within
their
buildings.
B
And
it's
it's
a
it's
like
a
graduate
course.
So
we
wanted
to
have
these
supports
in
place
for
schools
and
for
teachers
to
feel
supported
through
the
process.
Additional
School
level
supports
principals
have
done
an
amazing
job
supporting
their
teachers.
We
have
earmarks
some
money
for
sub
days
so
that
teachers
can
have
a
half
day
here
and
there
to
actually
do
some
of
the
work.
B
The
book
work
the
online
components
during
the
school
day
when
it
works
for
their
school,
but
principals
have
really
been
amazing
and
had
autonomy
to
provide
different
supports
because
different
schools
look
different
I,
know
I
was
at
one
school
a
few
weeks
ago
and
they
had
some
volunteers
that
were
providing
doing
read-alouds
and
pairing
it
with
lunch
and
recess.
So
there
would
be
extended
time
for
teachers
to
do
some
of
that
work.
B
We,
the
funding,
implica
the
next
slide,
Miss
Guthrie,
the
funding
implications
that
was
referenced
earlier,
the
state
provided
in
November.
There
was
a
drop
of
some
money,
a
169
000
for
science
of
reading
implementation
and
the
literacy
plan.
Implementation
and
some
of
those
resources
that
Mandy
and
Kate
referenced
earlier
for
school
supports
were
curricular
tools
to
support
teachers
in
the
application
of
their
learning,
with
science
and
science
of
reading
Additionally.
B
The
bonuses
that
and
we've
got
that
as
a
bullet
for
the
the
funds
from
DPI
our
portion
of
that,
but
also
Esser
funds,
the
subs
that
we
mentioned
that
are
available
for
each
school,
where
the
NC
Ed
core
tutors
that
are
supporting
literacy
in
at
vce
se
and
bondley
as
a
portion,
fundations
materials
and
all
of
that
comes
to
about
559
000
that
Chatham
County
schools
has
supplemented
to
make
sure
that
we
are
really
rolling
this
out
in
a
systematic
and
supportive
way
for
schools.

A
The
next
slide
is
just
some
more
quotes
from
some
teachers
within
the
district.
Overall,
what
we're
hearing
is
that,
yes,
this
is
really
hard.
Kate
and
I
can
attest
to
that
it's
very
time
consuming,
but
that
all
most
teachers
find
it
very
valuable
and
are
seeing
how
it's
impacting
their
children
in
the
classroom.
So
if
you
wanted
to
go
ahead
and
read
those
other
quotes,
you
would
hear
some
more
voices.
B
And
we
didn't
tell
the
teachers
what
to
say.
We
just
said
please
share
with
us.
We
want
your
voice
there
to
talk
about
your
experience
and
letters
for
the
past
six
months.
Some
of
our
next
steps
include
really
planning
for
your
two
letters,
work
that
will
continue
and
throughout
next
school
year
we
are
have
already
been
part
of
the
calendar
committee
planning
sessions
to
make
sure
those
days
are
protected
for
letters
work
with
Dr
Batten
calendar
committee
team.
B
We
are
hopeful
to
review
data
and
really
review
implementation
impact,
and
there
actually
is
a
a
position,
an
Els,
which
means
early
literacy,
specialist
position
that
DPI
is
working
with
school
districts
to
hire
a
person.
We
are
collaborating
with
them
on
hiring
a
person
to
ensure
implementation
and
sustainability
of
letters
in
the
work
that
we've
done
over
these
two
years
continues.
So
we're
working
as
a
team
to
coordinate
and
make
sure
that
there
is
someone
hired
for
that
position
and
really
we
want
to
utilize.
B
Ccs
staff
that
are
part
have
been
part
of
this
training
have
scored
at
an
88.
That's
what
Lexia
requires
for
staff
to
become
facilitators
of
letters,
and
so
we're
we're
looking
forward
to
tapping
into
our
staff
so
that
we
can
make
sure
that
we're
able
to
train
new
staff
keep
up
with
really
the
work
that
has
happened
over
the
last
six
months
and
will
be
two
years
to
ensure
that
we
have
facilitators
in-house
to
do
any
needed.
Training.
B
Part
of
the
legislation
for
read
to
achieve
also
involves
summer
school
planning,
and
so
we
are
busy
taking
steps
for
that.
There
is
a
requirement
of
72
hours.
The
state
this
year
is
saying
that
we
must
serve
grades.
Two
and
three.
We
are
hopeful
in
Chatham
to
be
able
to
serve
kindergarten
through
third
grade
students
for
the
redo
achieve
Camp.
Some
of
the
the
locations
right
now
that
we've
proposed
are
bondly
Siler,
City
Elementary
in
Pittsboro
Elementary.
Those
are
sites
that
have
been
used
when
we
needed
to
do
Consolidated
sites
last
year.
B
We
did
it
more
at
all
Sites
across
the
district,
but
those
are
the
proposed
sites
right
now
and
proposed
weeks.
June
19th
through
June
22nd,
June
26th
through
June
29th
and
July
10th
through
13th
with
that
would
be
four
days
a
week
and
eight
to
two
thirty
to
meet
that
72
hour
requirement
other
summer
opportunity.
These
would
be
rumination
and
retesting
Association
would
take
place.
June
1st,
through
June
9th,
with
retesting
happening
the
12th
13th
and
14th
for
students
in
grades
3
through
12..
B
We're
also
hope
for
CTE
and
internship
programs,
potential
AIG
and
English
language
learner
enrichment
camps
as
funding
allows.
So
all
of
this
really
reading
proficiency
by
the
end
of
third
grade
is
a
critical
marker
in
the
educational
journey
and
our
strategic
plan
lays
that
out
read
to
achieve
legislation
lays
that
out
and
this
we
just
wanted
to
share
with
you
some
of
the
work
that
we've
been
doing
across
Chatham,
to
really
make
sure
that
this
is
our
Focus.
